TAKATA RECALL - LETTER FROM FORD TODAY (3/26/18) "PLEASE CALL YOUR DEALER WITHOUT DELAY AND REQUEST A SERVICE DATE FOR RECALL 16S26 TO RECEIVE YOUR FREE REPAIR". I DID. SERVICE REP SAID THEY COULD NOT SCHEDULE ME BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEA WHEN OR HOW MANY OF THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL BE COMING. ME : WILL I GET ANOTHER (3RD) LETTER TELLING ME WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE ? THEM : NO, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO KEEP CALLING BACK. ME : AARRRGGHHHHH. ALSO IN THE LETTER, "IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTIES GETTING YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED PROMPTLY ... CONTACT OUR FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER 1-866-436-7332. I DID. WHEN I ASKED WHY FORD DEALERSHIPS DON'T KNOW WHEN OR HOW MANY PARTS THEY ARE GETTING I WAS PUT OH HOLD. AFTER 19 MINUTES ON THE PHONE I WAS TOLD PARTS "SHOULD BE AVAILABLE BY FRI. 4/9/18" AND THAT IT WAS UP TO ME TO KEEP CALLING TO SEE WHEN AND IF MY DEALERSHIP HAD THE PARTS AVAILABLE. (1) IN THIS DAY AND AGE, IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT THE DEALERSHIPS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING AUTO OWNERS WHEN THE FREAKING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE SO THEN THEY COULD CALL TO SCHEDULE THEIR REPAIR ??? (2) LETTER STATES "IF AN INFLATOR EXPLODES SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS COULD STRIKE THE PASSENGER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." DOESN'T THIS MAKE THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT ALL ? I'VE ONLY OWNED IT SINCE JULY 2017 AND BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL HAVE DRIVEN IT LESS THAN 500 MILES YET MY INSURANCE PAYMENTS OF $50/MONTH KEEP ON A COMIN'. THIS RECALL PROCESS IS (A) BROKEN, AND (B) FRUSTRATING SINCE I REALLY SHOULDN'T BE DRIVING THIS CAR AT ALL, YET FORD SAYS DON'T WORRY, JUST DON'T ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. FORD HAS ME ON A WAITING LIST FOR A MONTH. THE RECEIVED A PART NUMBER TODAY AND THEY SAID THEY MAY BE ABLE TO CALL ME BY THE END OF APRIL TO REPAIR. I WANT TO FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR AND I ALSO WANT TO BE ABLE TO REGISTER IT IN JUNE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. AN UNKNOWN FORD DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALLS IN MARCH OF 2018 AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A TICKING/CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS WERE POTENTIALLY AFFECTED BY THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL THE TIME TO REPAIR THIS HAS BEEN SEVERAL YEARS. BECAUSE OF RECALL I CANNOT HAVE PASSENGERS RIDE IN MY VEHICLE.
DRIVER SEAT BELT FAILS TO LATCH. IF YOU CAN GET IT TO LATCH UNLATCHES WHILE DRIVING.
TAKATA RECALL-- FAILURE TO FIX IN A TIMELY MANNER. NOTIFIED OF RECALL ON 03/2017 AND NO REMEDY FOR RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED AS OF 02/2018. CAR IS NOT USEABLE FOR CARRYING PASSENGERS IN THIS CONDITION DUE TO INABILITY TO DISABLE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS VEHICLE WAS ALSO AFFECTED BY RECALL FOR DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG INTERIM FIX (2014) AND NO PERMENANT FIX HAS YET TO BE RELEASED FOR THIS ISSUE AS WELL.

THE CONTACT RECENTLY RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS, ALERTING HIM THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT SMELLED BURNING RUBBER FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD BROOKSVILLE (7200 BROAD ST, BROOKSVILLE, FL 34601) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
WHEN SETTING UP A DATE TO REPLACE BOTH AIR BAGS, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS COULD TAKE 2-4 DAYS. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS THE ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION I HAVE AND CAN YOU GIVE ME A LOANER CAR. THEY SAID YES, WE CAN RENT YOU A CAR. THE RECALL NOTICE STATES "NO COST" AND NOW THEY WANT $$$ FOR A RENTAL. TWO OF MY COLLEAGUES HAD LOANER CARS FROM GMC & DOGE DEALERS. I HAVE ASKED FOUR DEALERS IN MY AREA, WITH NO LUCK. WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE?
JANUARY 14, 2018 I WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT DO TO BLACK ICE. UPON HITTING THE ICE TRAVELING AT 5 MILES PER HOUR THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVE BEGIN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE DROPPED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD . AND CAME TO REST ON ITS TOP. AFTER COMING AROUND BECAUSE I AM POSTIVE I WAS KNOCKED OUT DO TO IMPACT I FOUND MY SEAT BEAT HAD COME UNRESTRAINED AND I WAS SEATING ON THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS ALONG WITH 3 PASSAGER TAKING TO ER. I HURT MY BACK, RIGHT LEG, HAND AND NECK DURING THE ACCIDENT. A RECENT MRI OF MY LOWER BACK SHOWS I HAVE TO DISK PROTREDING AND ONE HAS COMPROMISED THE NERVE. WILL BE SEEING A NEUROSURGEON SOON TO SEE IF I AM REQUIRED TO HAVE SURGERY.

WILL PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE AT SOME POINT ? OR AM I STUCK WITH A CAR WITH A BAD AIRBAG ? I WAS HOPING TO GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT I AM TO DO NEXT. TAKATA RECALL DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACED ON MAY 28, 2015. HAVE BEEN WAITING A YEAR FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG TO BE AVAILABLE. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH A PASSENGER. THE WAIT TIME ON THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. WHEN WILL PARTS FINALLY BE AVAILABLE?
AFTER GETTING THE DRIVERS AIRBAG IN MY 08 FORD MUSTANG I HAVE RECEIVED INFO THAT IT READ ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. SO THE DRIVERS AIRBAG HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE PASSENGERS SIDE AIR BAG IS ALSO DEFECTIVE. WITH NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING/ SUMMER 2018. SO ANYONE RIDING IN PASSENGERS SIDE IS ST RISK OF HARMFUL DAMAGE OR DEATH. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER CAR. SO I ASKED WHAT I CAN DO TO PROTECT MY PASSENGERS IN THE MEANTIME. THEY TELL ME TO HAVE THEM RIDE IN BACK SEAT. WAITING SINCE JUNE OF 2016 FOR AIRBAG PART TO BE REPLACED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ACCORDING TO MALLOY FORD OF WINCHESTER VA THEY SAY NO PART AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON A FAMILIAR NARROW WINDING ROAD, AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, APPROACHING A CURVE TO THE RIGHT, WHEN IT SUDDENLY UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED. THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED THE CAR TO PLUNGE OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, DOWN A VERY STEEP BUMPY HILL SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET BEFORE FINALLY STOPPING. I WAS FRANTICALLY APPLYING THE BRAKES, BUT THEY SEEMED NONEFFECTIVE. THE CAR IS TOTALED, THERE IS PROPERTY DAMAGE, I WAS CHARGED WITH RECKLESS OPERATION, MY BACK IS INJURED. NOW I AM STRUGGLING TO PROVE THAT NONE OF THIS IS MY FAULT.

TAKATA RECALL IS TAKING WAY TO LONG FOR A REMEDY.
TAKATA RECALL, AFTER THIRD RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016, NO ACTION TAKEN BY ANYONE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG.
DURING JULY 2016, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY RECALLING ONE OF MY FORD MUSTANG AIR BAGS (RECALL 16V-384, 16S26). AFTER PATIENTLY WAITING FOR A YEAR AND A HALF FOR A LETTER STATING NEW AIR BAG INFLATORS WERE AVAILABLE, I CALLED FORD LAST WEEK TO GET A RECALL STATUS. THE FORD REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT MY RECALL WAS VALID BUT FORD COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN A REPLACEMENT AIR BAG INFLATOR WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THIS RESPONSE FROM FORD WAS OUTRAGEOUS SINCE THE TAKATA AIR BAG ISSUE HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR SOME YEARS NOW AND FORD HAS HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO FIND AND PROCURE REPLACEMENTS. PLEASE CONTACT FORD AND DEMAND THEY STOP DELAYING PROGRESS ON AIRBAG REPLACEMENTS.
TAKATA RECALL WE HAVE BEEN WAITING AND CHECKING PERIODICALLY FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITH SANTA MONICA FORD (OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER/SERVICE SHOP) FOR PERMANENT REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE INFLATORS, AND ARE TOLD THEY ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE JUNE 1 FOR A REPAIR OF THIS RECALL. THE DEALER IS STILL WAITING ON PARTS. I CANNOT LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR FEAR OF INJURY.
TAKATA RECALL. AFTER 3 YEARS, FORD STILL DOES NOT HAVE MY PASSENGER SIDE INFLATOR READY TO INSTALL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, AND I REFUSE TO BE FORCED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE AIRBAGS. PLEASE DIRECT FORD TO GET BOTH REPLACEMENT INFLATORS INTO STOCK IMMEDIATELY SO THAT I CAN GET MY VEHICLE FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL. THREE YEARS IS FAR TOO LONG TO WAIT! WHAT IS THE HOLDUP!?

JUST RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TK HOLDING INC. RETURN MAIL NOTIFIED ME THAT I HAVE TO FILE BY E-MAIL BEFORE DEC,27, 2017 THAT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND THAT IT IS RECALLED AND SHOULD BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, BUT AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX IT.
TAKATA RECALL -- I RECIEVED NOTICE OF THE FAULTY AIRBAG IN THE WINTER OF 2017 THAT I HAD THIS RECALL ON MY CAR. I SET AN APPOINTMENT IN THE SPRING OF 2017 TO HAVE IT REPLACE BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AT THAT TIME. IT IS CURRENTLY NOVEMBER OF 2017 AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THIS RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY RE BARBER FORD OF HOLLAND TO KEEP AN EYE ON MY MAIL FOR NOTIFICATION.
WENT TO DEALERSHIP BILLY HOWELL FORD IN CUMMING GA. THEY SAID TO BAD SO SAD THEY DONT HAVE ANY AIR BAGS TO FIX MY AIRBAG PROBLEM WOULD LIKE MY AIRBAG FIXED ON PASSAGER SIDE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS BECAUSE HE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE DEALER (MOORESVILLE FORD, INC., 151 E PLAZA DR, MOORESVILLE, NC 28115 (704) 312-4386) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE RECENTLY RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDING ALERTING HIM THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG REPLACED ONCE THERE I WAS IMFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE AND NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH ALSO NEEDED REPLACEMENT. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER I WAS IMFORMED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH ANOTHER DEFECTED AIR BAG ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF AND STILL THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED THESE AIR BAGS. EACH TIME I CALL THE DEALERSHIP THEY IMFORM ME THEY STIILL DO NOT HAVE ANY REPLACEMENT BAGS PERIOD FROM TAKATA WHAT IS GOING ON ????

I HAVE CALLED DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE AIRBAGS TO REPLACE THE FAULTY ONE. I AM IN FEAR IF ANYONE IS RIDING WITH ME, AND THE DAMAGE IT MAY CAUSE, EVEN LIFE. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE SOMETIME AGO AND WERE TOLD NOT AVAILABLE, AND FEW MONTHS I I WOULD CHECK TO NO AVAIL. LAST TIME I CHECK WAS THIS FALL STILL NOT AVAILABLE, NOW I'M STUCK WITH IT BEING CHECKED FOR MY SAFETY. STILL WAITING FOR RECALL REPLACEMENT.

TAKATA RECALL: FORD WILL NOT AUTHORIZE A RENTAL CAR WHILE THE AIR BAG RECALL IS BEING RECTIFIED. I HAVE CALLED ALL MY LOCAL UTAH DEALERS AS WELL AS SPOKEN TO MANY MANAGERS AT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THE ANSWER I GET IS THAT FORD WILL NOT PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR. I WAS ASSIGNED CASE NUMBER 13037449 AND THIS IS TIED TO THE VIN. THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS WERE OF NO HELP AND SAID THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT YET THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL. I HAVE A LETTER FROM FORD STATING THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH MY 2006 FORD MUSTANG CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH DUE TO A RUPTURED INFLATOR DISCHARGING METAL FRAGMENTS, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. MY SPOUSE IS ALWAYS A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE, AND WE DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE OUTSTANDING SAFETY RECALL. WITH ONE CAR OUT OF COMMISSION DUE TO A SAFETY RECALL, FORD SHOULD AUTHORIZE USE OF A RENTAL CAR, PAID FOR BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE MY PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED SO THE DANGER CAN BE REMOVED FROM MY MUSTANG. FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER. I AM UNHAPPY WITH THEM AND THAT IS THE COMPLAINT. PLEASE FORCE THEM TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RECALL AND REPAIR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANKS!
IT HAS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR SINCE THE DISCOVERY OF SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN MY CAR. THERE HAS BEEN NO URGENCY AROUND FIXING THIS ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER. PLEASE HELP EXPEDITE THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS SO I DON'T HAVE TO WATCH SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT DIE NEXT TO ME DUE TO SHRAPNEL INJURIES FROM A FAULTY INFLATOR.
