THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT OWNERS WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND NOTICE WHEN REMEDY PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL. ON TWO OCCASIONS I ASKED FORD TO INDICATE WHETHER OR NOT THE SIDE AIR BAGS INSTALLED IN MY MUSTANG WERE SUPPLIED BY TAKATA AND IF SO WOULD THEY BE RECALLED. ON BOTH OCCASIONS FORD SIDESTEPPED MY REQUEST AND REFUSED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS DIRECTLY. I BELIEVE FORD IS BEING DISHONEST, ONLY TRYING TO LIMIT THEIR LIABILITY, AT MY SAFETY AND EXPENSE. NOTE: FORD HAS RECALLED BOTH THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS BUT HAS ONLY REPLACED ONE.(SEE ATTACHED LETTERS). PLEASE INSTRUCT FORD TO INDICATE IF THE SIDE AIR BAGS ON MY MUSTANG WERE SUPPLIED BY TAKATA, INSTRUCT FORD TO RECALL THEM IF THEY WERE AND INSTRUCT FORD TO EXPEDITE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TAKATA AIR BAGS NOT YET REPLACED (THE SECOND FRONTAL AIR BAG RECALL IS OVER A YEAR OLD). NOTE: THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT FORD HAS HAD ENOUGH TIME TO RESOLVE ANY TECHNICAL OR PRODUCTION ISSUES AND THEIR DELAYS ARE UNREASONABLE.

AFTER CALLING THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, REDLANDS FORD FOR MONTHS AND ALWAYS BEING TOLD THEY COULD NOT GET THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL AND TO TRY AGAIN NEXT MONTH FINALLY ON 7/24/17 WE WERE EXCITED TO HEAR THEY HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE PARTS IN AND WE SCHEDULED THE REPAIR FOR 7/25/17. WE DROPPED THE CAR OF IN THE MORNING ON 7/25 EXCITED TO FINALLY GET THIS FIXED. WHEN WE RETURNED AT 4:45 TO PICK UP THE CAR WE WERE DISAPOINTED TO NOTICE IT WAS STILL PARKED WHERE IT HAD BEEN THAT MORNING. ON INQUIRING WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD NEED TO KEEP THE CAR ANOTHER DAY AS THEY NEEDED TO ORDER THE PART. WHEN I INFORMED THEM WE WERE TOLD YESTERDAY THE PART WAS IN STOCK WHEN WE SCHEDULED THE SERVICE WE WERE TOLD DIFFERENT MODELS REQUIRE DIFFERENT PARTS. WHEN I TOLD HIM THEY HAD VERIFIED THE PART BY THE VIN NUMBER AND ASKED WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PART HE HAD IN STOCK HE REFUSED TO ANSWER ONLY SAYING THEY COULD REORDER THE PART FOR THE NEXT DAY. I ASKED WHY THEY HAD NOT CALLED ME WHEN THEY NOTICED THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART HE IGNORED MY QUESTION SAYING THEY NEEDED TO REORDER THE PART. I ASKED HIM WHY IF THEY COULD ORDER THE PART AND GET IT IN THE NEXT DAY THEY HAD WAITED 15 MONTHS TO DO SO. AGAIN HE IGNORED MY QUESTION INSISTING I LEAVE THE CAR SO THEY COULD ORDER THE PART. WE TOOK OUR CAR AND LEFT, FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEALER AND NOW WITH YOU. WE NOW HAVE THE IMPRESSION NEITHER FMC NOR THE LOCAL DEALERS HAVE ANY INTENTION OF COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIRS AND ARE JUST MAKING LIFE DIFFICULT SO WE GIVE UP. SAD THAT MY 17 YEAR OLD SON'S SAFETY RESTS IN THEIR HANDS.

TAKATA RECALL -- NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 16V384. STATUS IS "RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE" OVER A YEAR AFTER THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. IS ANY PROGRESS BEING MADE ON THIS.
I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED DURING THE INITIAL RECALL OF THE LETHAL TAKATA AIRBAGS IN MY 2006 MUSTANG. TODAY, I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING THE DEALER IN MARGATE FLORIDA WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. AS OF THIS DATE AFTER NUMEROUS TELEPHONE CALLS, VISITS, I AM STILL WITHOUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I LEFT MESSAGES, NOT RETURN CALLS, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSES, ETC... I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THE PASSENGER SIDE BAG REPLACED. IT'S BEEN SEVERAL YEARS AND THE CAR IS A DAILY DRIVEN CAR BEFORE MY FAMILY EXPERIENCE THE SAD EVENTS AS OTHER FAMLLIES HAS EXPERIENC3ED.

DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED AFTER WAITING FOR MONTHS, ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE WAS ANOTHER AIRBAG ON BOARD CAR WITH RECALL, BUT, NO AVAILABLE PARTS TO PERFORM SAFETY UPDATE !!!
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO PICK UP SPEED AND THEN SURGED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE GEAR IN DRIVE 3 TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE RECALLS WHEN HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKING AIRBAGS-IVE BEEN WAITING FOR PARTS FOR OVER A YEAR, AND SAW MY LOCAL NEWS REPORT ON MY CAR, THEY WARNED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL PARTS COME IN FOR REPAIR.... METAL SHRAPNEL WILL EXPLODE IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, I WANT TO KNOW IF I QUALIFY FOR A RENTAL CAR FROM MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE DANGERS OF DRIVING IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS. ON MY LOCAL NEWS SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE ISSUED RENTAL CARS UNTIL THE FIX CAN BE MADE, THANK YOU.
I bought a 2006 Mustang convertible for my wife on her 40th birthday. We store the car every winter and bring the battery into the home. Car has 40k miles. 6 years ago we began experiencing amperage draw while the vehicle is off. I have went through 4 batteries, 1 alternator, several flat bed truck tows, and weeks into service at my local Ford dealer - only to have the dealership continue to tell me how difficult it is to find 'parasitic' amp draw because it is intermittent. My wife has had it being stuck and now afraid to drive the car, and contemplating to get rid of it. I work for a major tier 1 automotive supplier in engineering and know how my company pays special attention to NHTSA complaints and investigations relating to our products. I am hopeful that Ford engineering will get a hold of me and get this right before I take the Mustang to the scrap yard!
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 70 MPH ON TIRES THAT HAVE LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON THEM WHEN I HAD ONE OF THE TIRES BLOW OUT ON ME. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM ON MY CAR BEFORE. I'M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO SADLY BRING THE CAR TO A STOP AND DIDN'T CAUSE ANYMORE DAMAGE THAN A BUST TIRE
TAKATA RECALL. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED ON JUNE 1, 2016 AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. I AM NOT ABLE TO FULLY UTILIZE THIS VEHICLE SINCE WE DO NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE CAR DUE TO THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE TIMELINESS OF THE REPAIR AS IT IS APPROACHING 1 YEAR ON THE RECALL NOTICE.

TAKATA RECALL (17S01/NHTSA RECALL 17V-024) RECEIVED IN MARCH 2017 STATES THAT A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. FOR THIS REASON I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE WHILE WAITING FOR THE AIRBAGS TO BE REPAIRED. MY FORD DEALER CONTINUES TO REPORT THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE, SO I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR FEAR OF INJURY OR DEATH. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS OF WAITING FOR PARTS AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS ISSUE CAN NOT BE REPAIRED YET.

TAKATA RECALL: WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR THE RIGHT SIDE AIRBAG (16V-384) JULY 2016, AND NOW IN FEB 2017 WE ARE STILL WAITING ON PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE WITH NO EXPECTED DATE. NOTE WE HAD ALREADY WAITED OVER A YEAR FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG (THAT RECALL LETTER WAS FROM JULY 2015) WHICH WAS FINALLY RESOLVED, AND WHY BOTH WEREN'T RECALLED AT THE SAME TIME BOGGLES ME. PLEASE PUSH THE PARTIES TO RESOLVE REPLACING THE RIGHT AIR BAG. DRIVING ESSENTIALLY IN A DANGEROUS CONDITION WITH AIR BAG RECALLS SPANNING FOR A YEAR AND A HALF NOW IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER AIRBAG IN JANUARY 2017 BUT ADVISED THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS NOT AVAILABLE, AND THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SENSOR WERE SENDING MY CAR INTO "LIMP MODE", AND VERY NEARLY CAUSED TWO ACCIDENTS BEFORE I COULD HAVE THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE FIRST INSTANCE OF "LIMP MODE" CAME WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY IN COMMUTE TRAFFIC. IT WAS WARM, TRAFFIC WAS ERRATIC STOP-AND-GO, AND I HAD THE AC ON. AFTER A PERIOD OF COASTING AT IDLE, TRAFFIC OPENED UP; BUT WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR STAGGERED AND NEARLY STALLED. I THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO HEAT AND THE AC. THE CAR THEN JERKED FORWARD BEFORE RUNNING SMOOTHLY AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME, I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, AGAIN IN FREEWAY COMMUTE TRAFFIC. TRAFFIC WAS AT A STOP FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND THEN I HEARD A NEWS REPORT THAT THERE WERE ACCIDENTS AHEAD. I MOVED OVER TO THE 4TH LANE OF 5, IN PREPARATION FOR EXITING AT THE NEXT OFF RAMP. WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT AND SPEED UP INTO THAT LANE, THE CAR AGAIN STAGGERED AND THEN STALLED; I MANAGED TO RE-START IT AND GET MOVING AGAIN AS A TRUCK CAME RACING TOWARDS ME, WITH THE DRIVER HITTING HIS BRAKES AND HORN. I BARELY AVOIDED A CRASH.

DUE TO THE OUTSTANDING RECALL OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ON MY MUSTANG, MY FORD DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IN AS A TRADE OR WOULD HAVE TO OFFER ME LESS THEN THE CAR WOULD BE WORTH AS A TRADE IN BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT RESELL THE CAR AND WOULD TAKE IT STRAIGHT TO AUCTION. SINCE FORD WAS ORIGINALLY RESPONSIBLE AS THEY ARE THE MANUFACTURER THAT INSTALLED THIS AIR BAG WHEN THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED, AND THIS IS THE REASON THAT THE VEHICLE HAS THIS ISSUE, THEY SHOULD BE STEPPING UP AND COMPENSATING EITHER THE OWNER OR ANY DEALER THAT WOULD TAKE THIS CAR IN ON TRADE FOR ANY LOSS IN VALUE SO THAT THE PRESENT OWNER IS NOT TIED TO A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE LOST VALUE DUE TO THIS RECALL ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE ACCELERATOR WAS BEING DEPRESSED SLIGHTLY TO EITHER MAINTAIN OR SLOWLY ACCELERATE TO A SPEED BETWEEN 30-40 MPH. THE GAS PEDAL THEN PRESSED TO THE FLOOR ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV LOUDLY AND ACCELERATE TO BEYOND 50 MPH ON THE FIRST INCIDENT (NEARLY 70 ON THE SECOND MAJOR INCIDENT). WHEN THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. BRAKING ONLY SLOWED THE RATE OF ACCELERATION. PRESSING IN THE CLUTCH WAS INEFFECTIVE. THE INCIDENTS ARE RANDOM. NO IMMEDIATE CAUSE HAS BEEN DETERMINED. BOTH TIMES, THE DRIVER AND FELLOW DRIVERS WERE ENDANGERED BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CONTROL CAUSED BY THE INCIDENT. THANKFULLY, NO CRASHES HAVE ENSUED YET. NOTHING SHORT OF TURNING OFF THE ENGINE ENTIRELY AFFECTS THE INCIDENT AS IT OCCURS WHICH CAUSES FURTHER ENDANGERMENT. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ROUGHLY 4 TIMES IN THE SPAN OF ONE MONTH'S TIME. TWO WERE MINOR CASES IN WHICH THE ACCELERATOR RIGHTED ITSELF QUICKLY. THE OTHER TWO WERE MAJOR INCIDENTS RESULTING IN LACK OF SPEED AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS BELIEVED THE ISSUE IS ARISING FROM THE MECHANICAL NATURE OF THE ACCELERATOR. WHEREAS MOST VEHICLES ARE A SINGLE PIECE PEDAL, THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR IS A TWO-PIECE MECHANISM. UPON RESEARCHING SIMILAR INCIDENTS, IT HAS BEEN MADE KNOWN THAT THIS ISSUE ARISES IN THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR OF THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS, SOME OTHERS. HOWEVER, THE COMPANY REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL TO PREVENT FURTHER INCIDENTS WHICH, QUITE FRANKLY, IS RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT ON THE PART OF THE COMPANY. NO REPAIR INVOICES, POLICE ACCIDENT REPORTS, INSURANCE CLAIM FORMS, ETC. HAVE BEEN FILED AS THESE INCIDENTS HAVE ONLY OCCURRED OVER THE COURSE OF THE MOST PREVIOUS MONTH. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AFTER IT HEATS UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THESE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE USED VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX. THEY REPLACED O2 SENSORS AND I GOT IT BACK LAST NIGHT AND TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF ON ME AGAIN AND THE RPMS DROPPED TO ZERO. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OFF TO THE SIDE SAFELY. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. I DROVE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO AND IT SHUT OFF AGAIN, SO AGAIN I PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT THREE OR FOUR TIMES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO REACH MY FINAL DESTINATION.
