TAKATA RECALL MANUFACTURE HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT AIR BAG FOR THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26/ NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH LOCAL FORD DEALERS SINCE I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE RECALL IN JULY OF 2016.
TAKATA INFLATORS THE EXISTING RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OF JULY 2016 INDICATES THAT IT IS NOT SAFE FOR A PERSON TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I JUST RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT IT IS HOPED THAT THERE WILL BE A FIX FOR THIS DEFECT IN 2018. BECAUSE THE BACK SEATS OF THIS MODEL OF MUSTANG HAVE LIMITED SPACE FOR LEGS, MY VEHICLE IS NOW LIMITED TO ACCOMMODATING THE DRIVER ONLY. THIS CAR WAS NOT PURCHASED AS A COMMUTER VEHICLE AND IT APPEARS THAT I WILL BE LOOKING AT ABOUT TWO YEARS WHERE I CAN'T USE IT. THIS SEEMS LIKE AND EXTREMELY LONG FINE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. IS THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS FOR GETTING THIS FIXED OR REPLACED?
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN JULY 2016 OF THE RECALL OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AVAILABILITY OF REPLACEMENT PARTS HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY DELAYED. AS OF A DECEMBER 2017 NOTICE THE EARLIEST PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE IS SPRING 2018. THE ADVISORY WARNS THAT NO PASSENGERS SHOULD OCCUPY THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL REPAIRS ARE MADE. THE DELAY OF PART AVAILABILITY IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CAN'T CARRY A PASSENGER, AND HAS LIMITED RESALE VALUE DUE TO THE DEFECT.
TAKATA RECALL: IT IS UNFATHOMABLE THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THE NHTSA FEEL THE RECALL PLAN IS ACCEPTABLE FOR VEHICLE OWNERS. WE ARE BEING TOLD TO LIVE WITH THE DEFECT FOR AT LEAST 2 FULL YEARS - RECALL WAS JUNE 2016 AND LATEST NOTICE IS THAT PARTS FOR SOME VEHICLES ARE EXPECTED IN SPRING 2018. DURING THIS TIME THE REMEDY IS THAT PASSENGERS CANNOT RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND INFLICTS IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE OWNERS AS THIS REMEDY SEVERELY LIMITS USE OF THE VEHICLE FAR BELOW ITS INTENDED USE. I REALIZE THE RECALL IS WITH RESPECT TO A PART SUPPLIED TO FORD, BUT THIS MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. WHEN I BUY THE VEHICLE, I PURCHASE A FORD VEHICLE, PERIOD. I FEEL IT IS A DERELICTION OF DUTY FOR THE NHTSA TO HAVE ALLOWED THIS RECALL PLAN TO BE FORCED UNFAIRLY ON TO VEHICLE OWNERS. I BELIEVE THE PLAN SHOULD BE AMENDED SUCH THAT FORD IS REQUIRED TO DEVELOP THE PARTS SOONER AND, MOREOVER, VEHICLE OWNERS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS EXTREME LIMITATION ON THE USE OF OUR VEHICLES. I'M SURE IF A COMPANY LIKE FORD REALLY WANTED TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS, IT HAS THE RESOURCES TO DO SO. THE NHTSA REALLY LET FORD OFF THE HOOK ON THIS ONE. SO DISAPPOINTING.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 PASSANGER AIRBAG THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED 7/16 AND HAS YET TO BE REMEDIED. WE WERE NOTIFIED BY FORD NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE PART IS AVAILABLE. IT IS GOING ON TWO YEARS FOR THIS. FORD SHOULD AT LEAST OFFER TO BUY THE CAR BACK FROM US!
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED IN JUNE OF 2016 THAT AN AIR-BAG RECALL WAS INITIATED. I HAVE CONTACTED PENSKE FORD IN LA MESA CA ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND THEY STATED THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY DIRECTION FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. WHEN CAN I EXPECT A REPAIR?

"TAKATA RECALL" RECEIVED INITIAL RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL JUNE 2016. CALLED FORD DEALER TO SCHEDULE REPAIR APPOINTMENT BUT WAS TOLD PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE BUT THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. NO FOLLOW UP FROM THEM. SO I CALLED THEM ON 1/18/2017 TO FIND OUT IF PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THEY SAID YES AND TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER ON 1/23/2017. WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AND FORD WOULD BE CONTACTING ME WHEN PERMANENT FIX WAS AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED POSTCARD ON 11/12017 FROM T K HOLDINGS ABOUT TAKATA BANKRUPTCY. I CALLED FORD DEALER TO SEE ABOUT GETTING PERMANENT FIX DONE. THEY TOLD ME FORD HADN'T RELEASED ANY PARTS YET FOR THE RECALL PROBLEM AND THERE WAS THOUSANDS STILL OUT THERE WAITING. THIS HAS BE GOING ON FOR 17 MONTHS SINCE INITIAL NOTICE I RECEIVED IN MAIL STATING "URGENT RECALL NOTICE".

ON JUNE 2016, I RECEIVED NOTICE OF AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. STARTING JULY 1, I CONTACTED [XXX], LOS LUNAS, NM, FOR INSTALL OF FINAL-PERMANENT AIRBAG PART. RESPONSES FROM THEM HAVE BEEN: 1.-- "3 WEEK BACK ORDER, WILL CALL BACK LAST WEEK OF JULY." 2.-- 7/21, "WILL CALL BACK WHEN PARTS REC'D." 3.--8/15, "STILL AWAITING 'DRIVER AIRBAG; 'PASSENGER' AIRBAG ON BACK ORDER." "TAKATA RECALL" MY DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BEEN "REPAIRED" BUT I AM CONTINUALLY TOLD THAT THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE. ALSO, THE GEARS IN THE ELECTRIC DRIVER SEAT ARE CHEAPLY MADE OF PLASTIC AND QUIT ALLOWING THE SEAT TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACK. ALL MOTORS WORK FINE BUT THE WAY THE SEAT IS MADE YOU CAN'T JUST REPLACE THE GEARS. THIS STOPPED WORKING AFTER THE DEALERSHIP WORKED ON SOMETHING ELSE ON THE CAR SEAT (LUMBAR AIR BAG)

TAKATA RECALL. SINCE FIRST RECALL 3 YEARS AGO, I HAVE TAKEN THE NOTICE TO GLAVEN FORD IN CLAY CENTER, KANSAS NOW 4 TIMES WITH NUMEROUS FOLLOW-UPS. THEY HAVE NEVER RESPONDED TO ANY INQUIRIES AND WHEN I CONTACTED THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER IT. NEVER CONTACTED AGAIN. THEY DO NOT EVEN SEEM CONCERNED. I DO NOT EXPECT TO HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. NHTSA HOTLINE NOT HELPFUL, AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND FTC COMPLAINT LINES ALWAYS ON HOLD. PLEASE EXPLAIN LIABILITY IF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS.
