MY DAUGHTER WAS HIT BY ANOTHER PERSON AT FAULT, AND I HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE SHOP TO GET REPAIRED, THE DEALER SHIP WOULDNOT FIX THE FRONT END /SUSPENSION OF MY MUSTANG, SAID WAS NOT ACCIDENT RELATED, THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SUSPENSION PARTS OF MY VEHICLE, I AM ONLY READING A RECALL ON 2006 BUT NOT 2007, BUT MY DAUGHTER IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE- REPAIR SHOP STATES I NEED STRUTS AND SUSPENSION PARTS REPLACED, AND A NEW PART THAT WAS NEEDED DUE TO RECALL. I CANNOT FINANCIAL AFFORD TO REPLACE THESE ITEMS. PLEASE CONTACT ME
TAKATA RECALL FORD KEEPS HARASSING ME WITH LETTERS AND EMAILS BUT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE ANY AIRBAGS TO COMPLETE THE REPLACEMENT THIS HAS BEEN 3 YEARS. IF THE COMPANY CAN'T GET THE REPLACEMENTS THEY SHOULD NOTIFY THE CUSTOMERS IF THEY CAN GET THE REPLACEMENTS THE NEXT LETTER SHOULD BE DATED OR WHEN THE CUSTOMER CAN EXPECT THE RECALL BAGS TO BE AVAILABLE. IF THIS WOULD TRULY A SAFETY ISSUE MY AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AFTER THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS AND NONE OF THEM HAVE THE AIRBAGS. FORD IS CHEATING ON THIS GAME
TAKATA RECALL FORD HAS BEEN SENDING ME RECALL NOTICES. URGENT, SCARY BUT FORD LIES AND STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENTS. I AM BEING HARASSED BY WEEKLY NOTICES. I HAVE BEEN TO MANY DEALERSHIPS, NO PARTS. FORD IS DECEPTIVE ABOUT THESE REPAIRS. PLEASE MAKE THE COMPANY STOP SENDING ME PANIC MAIL UNTIL THEY SUPPLY THE PARTS. THIS IS CRIMINAL, AFTER 3 YEARS!!!!

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT A CLANKING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,117.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 100 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKE PEDAL AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WERE ENGAGED SIMULTANEOUSLY BEFORE THE GEAR WAS PLACED INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RAVED AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
DRIVING AT INTERSTATE SPEED CAR LUNGING ACTING AS IF THE ENGINE WAS WANTING TO CUT OUT AND THEN SEEMS TO 'CATCH'. I HAVE SINCE NOTICED IT DOING THE SAME WITH IN TOWN DRIVING. SO SPEEDS SEEM NOT TO BE AN ISSUE. I HAVE DONE SOME ONLINE SEARCHING AND HAVE FOUND FORD HAS ISSUES WITH AUTO THROTTLE BODY AND THE SYMPTOMS SOUND EXACTLY LIKE THE ISSUES I'M HAVING WITH MY CAR. I FOUND THIS, AND FILED THE COMPLAINT AND AM GOING TO BE IN CONTACT WITH MY FORD SERVICE CENTER IN REGARDS TO THE FEB. 2014 UPDATE WHERE AFFECTED OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AND MENTION CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. : RECALL FOR DEFECTIVE FORD THROTTLE BODY COULD COME FROM PETITION THE NORTH CAROLINA CONSUMERS COUNCIL (NCCC) HAS OFFICIALLY PETITIONED THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) FOR A DEFECT INVESTIGATION OF ALLEGED THROTTLE BODY FAILURES IN 2005-2012 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES SHARING THE SAME OR SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR PART. *TR
WHILE DRIVING CAR SHUTS OFF. NO STEERING. HARMONIC BALANCER FAIL OFF. HIT A DITCH. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE HORN STARTED BLOWING. IT STARTLED ME AND THE DRIVERS OF SEVERAL OF THE AUTOMOBILES NEAR ME. APPARENTLY, OTHER DRIVERS THOUGHT THERE WAS SOME EMERGENCY. I TOOK THE NEXT AVAILABLE EXIT FROM THE HIGHWAY AND PULLED OVER AT A SAFE PLACE. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THE HORN STOPPED BLOWING. I STARTED THE CAR AND PULLED ONTO THE STREET AND THE HORN AGAIN STARTED BLOWING. AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING AGAIN, THE HORN STOPPED BLOWING. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER. THEY INDICATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS "WORKING PROPERLY AT THIS TIME". THEY SAID THAT THE "MOST COMMON PART FAILURE IS THE DRIVERS SIDE MODULE TO START." THE PRICE QUOTE WAS $1058.48 TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG MODULE. I HAVE REMOVED THE HORN RELAY TEMPORARILY, BUT I AM FEARFUL THAT POSSIBLY THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY WHILE I'M DRIVING. IT WOULD SEEM THAT IN ANY CASE, THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN KNOWING IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR OTHERS AND WHAT IF ANYTHING I SHOULD DO ABOUT THIS. *TR
I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL. I TAPED THE GAS PEDAL AND THAT STOPPED THE RAPID ACCELERATION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PASSING A VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL UNTIL I HIT THE GAS PEDAL HARDER. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS A RECALL. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO PUMP GAS, THE SENSOR CUTS THE FLOW OF GAS OFF AT ABOUT ONE HALF GALLON. IF YOU REMOVE THE NOZZLE, GAS SPLASHES BACK AND ALL OVER THE PERSON PUMPING, THE CAR AND THE GROUND. WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO PUMP, THE SENSOR CUTS OFF EVERY SECOND. THERE IS NO WAY THE TANK CAN BE FILLED IN ITS ENTIRETY. I HAVE HAD THE GAS SET UP REBUILT BY MY LOCAL MECHANIC, THINKING SOMETHING MIGHT BE BLOCKING THE CONNECTION OF GAS ENTRY TO TANK, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THIS IS COMMON, THAT I MUST FIND A GAS STATION THAT HAS A SPECIFIC PUMP WITH NO SENSOR (NOT A SINGLE STATION ANYWHERE NEAR MY RESIDENCE), I HAVE TO TILT THE PUMP AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. WELL, I TRIED ALL OF THE SUGGESTIONS, YET MY CAR IS STILL SPLASHING GAS, ETC. THIS IS A HAZARD! NOT ONLY SPILLING GAS ON THE GROUND AND VEHICLE, BUT MYSELF!! ALSO, I CANNOT FILL THE TANK, MAKING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN NEW ENGLAND WINTERS WHERE YOU CAN GET STRANDED FOR HOURS IN YOUR CAR IN ROAD ACCIDENTS, CONDITIONS, ETC. PLEASE HELP! I DO NOT THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO HUNT DOWN A SPECIFIC GAS STATION THAT DOESN'T EXIST, OR SPEND MORE MONEY TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN FIX THIS, OR WEAR GASOLINE WHEREVER I GO. PLEASE HELP!!!!! *TR
AFFECTED PARTS: CLUTCH. THE CLUTCH HAS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT (SLIPPING) THREE TIMES IN 44,571 MILES. FIRST PROBLEM OCCURRED AT APPROX. 10,000 MILES (REPLACED BY FORD UNDER WARRANTY). THE SECOND PROBLEM OCCURRED AT APPROX. 24,000 MILES (REPLACED BY FORD UNDER WARRANTY). THE THIRD PROBLEM OCCURRED AT 44,571 MILES AND FORD IS REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING, THE FORD PREMIUM CARE EXTENDED WARRANTY REFUSES TO HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY NOW CLAIM IT IS A "MAINTENANCE" ISSUE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2007 SHELBY MUSTANG GT500 AND IT IS NOT LISTED IN THE ABOVE DROP DOWN BOX. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER DRIVER THAT THE BRAKES LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT WHEN THE CLUTCH WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED BECAUSE THE BRACKET THAT CONNECTED THE CLUTCH AND BRAKE PEDAL STRETCHED ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE ILLUMINATION OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 998. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SERVICING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE CALIPERS WERE NOT THE CORRECT SIZE AND NOT WIDE ENOUGH. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED THAT THE CALIPERS, THE BRAKE ROTORS, AND THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE MADE KNOCKING AND PINGING NOISES WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE PARKED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SUDDENLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS LOW ENGINE OIL AND IN RESULT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
I'M NOT SURE HOW TO EXPLAIN BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT MOTORS BUT I'LL TRY. THERE WAS A SQUEAK IN MY CAR IT WOULD COME AND GO. I BROKE DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY. THE MECHANIC SAID THE HARMONIC BALANCE BROKE WHICH BROKE THE CRANK SENOR. THE CAR JUST DIED ON THE HIGHWAY. THE MECHANIC SAID IT IS COMMON IN MUSTANGS IN FACT HE JUST REPLACED ONE LAST WEEK. I DON'T DRIVE MY CAR OFTEN AS YOU CAN TELL IT ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS A 2007 AND WHEN I BOUGHT IT, HAD 3 MILES ON IT.. NOW MY QUESTION IS IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS AND I ALREADY HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME DO I GET PAID BACK.. *TR
THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING PROBLEM THAT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING FOR QUITE AWHILE. I WAS RESEARCHING A LUNGE PROBLEM, DISCOVERED IT IS FREQUENTLY HAPPENING TO OTHERS. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM GOING A VERY SLOW SPEED. IT HAS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC MANY TIMES WHICH IS SCARY, IN MY HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS, WE HAVE SPEED BUMPS SO YOU MUST DRIVE SLOWLY AND MAKING TURNS. IT JUST IMMEDIATELY ALL SHUTS DOWN AND THE CAR STOPS. I ACTUALLY TRY TO AVOID TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES. I HAVE DISCUSSED, IN THE PAST, THIS WITH MY MECHANIC VARIOUS TIMES AND MADE SURE EVERYTHING IN MY CAR IS FINE. I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING AND MY CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
WALK OUT TO MY CAR SATURDAY MORNING, BATTERY WAS DEAD. I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW BATTERY. I INSTALLED IT THEN WENT TO A STORE. AS I WAS COMING BACK HOME, A FIRE STARTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. I TRIED TO MAKE IT HOME, BUT THE SMOKE WAS GETTING TO ME, MY WINDOWS WOULDN'T WORK. I FINALLY MADE IT HOME BY THAT TIME A FIRE STARTED BLAZING. I YELLED AT MY WIFE TO GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I MANAGE TO PUT OUT THE FLAMES. I HAVE READ ON THE WEB THAT NUMEROUS CARS AS MINE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. HOW COME NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE?? IS FORD JUST A BIG GIANT OF A BUSINESS THAT NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF RAIN LATELY. WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN JANUARY. AFTER A HARD RAIN THE FLOOR BOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WOULD HAVE ABOUT 2 INCHES OF STINKY WATER STANDING. WHEN INVESTIGATING ON LINE I GUESS THIS IS A ISSUE WITH MOST MUSTANG OWNERS. IF YOU PARK WHERE ANY LEAVES OR DIRT CAN COLLECT IN THE FIREWALL UNDER THE WINDSHIELD. THERE ARE TWO RUBBER SEALS THAT GET PLUGGED WITH DIRT AND STUFF WHICH CAUSES THE FIRE WALL TO FILL WITH WATER AND BACK UP INTO THE CAR. IF YOU PULL THE PLUGS OUT CLEAN OUT THE DIRT THE WATER FLOWS OUT. THE FIRST TIME WE PULLED OUT THE PLUGS WE GOT ABOUT TWO GALLONS OF NASTY WATER THAT POURED INTO THE DRIVEWAY. WE CHECK IT EVERY COUPLE WEEKS NOW, AS LONG AS WE CLEAN PLUGS NO PROBLEM??? IS THERE A PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. WE HAD QUITE A SMELL IN THE CAR HAD TO HAVE IT DEEP CLEANED!! *TR
IN ASSOCIATION WITH NHTSA ACTION # PE08060, I AM JUST REPORTING AN INCIDENT. EVEN THOUGH THE INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED THERE ARE STILL DEFECTIVE VALVE STEMS OUT THERE. JUST REPORTING THIS FOR YOUR DATA. WE BOUGHT AN '07 MUSTANG LAST YEAR. IT WAS A ONE OWNER WITH VERY LOW MILES AND HAD NEVER HAD THE TIRES OR STEMS REPLACED IN IT'S LIFETIME APPARENTLY. SO WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THREE VALVE STEMS BECAUSE OF THE CRACKING AND LEAKING, TODAY THE 4TH ONE STARTED LEAKING. LUCKILY MY NEIGHBORHOOD TIRE SHOP DOES NOT CHARGE VERY MUCH TO REPLACE THEM IF I TAKE THE WHEEL OFF MYSELF AND TAKE IT UP THERE, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO GET BACK THE MONEY FOR THE TROUBLE. BUT, IF IT WASN'T FOR FORD'S LOW PRESSURE WARNING AND US BEING VIGILANT STICKLERS FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM. JUST LETTING YOU KNOW IN CASE THERE ARE STILL "ONE OWNER" CARS OUT THERE THAT HAVEN'T BEEN DRIVEN MUCH AND ARE STILL PUT UP IN GARAGES SOMEWHERE. *JS
INCIDENT VEHICLE IS A MUSTANG BASE CONVERTIBLE 2007 ORIGINALLY SOLD IN HAWAII AND SUBJECTED TO SALT AIR, WATER AND HUMIDITY. FRONT AND REAR SEAT BELT RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY FLOOR MOUNT TABS ARE SEVERELY RUSTED ON ALL SURFACES. THIS APPEARS TO BE CAUSED BY SUBSTANDARD STEEL OR INFERIOR ANTI-CORROSION TREATMENT USED IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THE INEVITABLE STRUCTURAL FAILURE OF THESE TABS OR THE ABRASION TO THE SEAT BELT CAUSED BY THE RUST CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES LOCATED NEARBY HAVE LITTLE TO NO CORROSION. THE FLOOR PAN IS NOT CORRODED, EVEN UNDER THE CORRODED TABS. *TR

I WAS LEAVING A STOP SIGN AND ACCELERATED FROM 1ST TO 2ND. I WAS GOING ABOUT 30MPH IN SECOND WHEN SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE WENT TO A WOT (WIDE OPEN THROTTLE) CONDITION. THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED THE REAR OF THE CAR TO SPIN, STRIKING A TREE. THE ACCELERATION WAS SUDDEN AND COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED. THIS IS THE SECOND SUCH OCCASION THAT THIS CONDITION OCCURRED. CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET TO ON AS IT WAS USED BEFORE REACHING THE STOP SIGN. ALSO, STOCK FLOOR MATS WERE IN PLACE. *TR
I HAD A 2005 MUSTANG AND COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT WHY IT LEAKED EVERYTIME IT RAINED , THINKING IT WAS JUST A PROBLEM WITH THAT CAR, I EVENTUALLY WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A 2007 MUSTANG, AND THE FIRST HEAVY RAIN AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR, THE SAME THING.. WATER POURING OUT FROM UNDER THE GLOVE BOX ON TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND NOW PARTS OF THE RADIO ARE NOT WORKING. I HAVE ALWAYS SINCE A LITTLE GIRL BE IN LOVE WITH FORD MUSTANGS AND CONSIDERING THE CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH THE LEAKS ITS ALMOST NOT WORTH IT TO PURCHASE A MUSTANG. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS MORE COMMON ON THE 05-09 MODELS BUT FROM WHAT I GATHER ITS A PROBLEM WITH MOST EVEN THE NEWER MODELS. WHILE SITTING,WITH ALL DOORS CLOSED,THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A CHIME AND STAYED ON,DRIVERS WINDOW WOULDN'T ROLL DOWN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED MOVING BY THEMSELVES,THEN THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WENT OFF FOR A SPLIT SECOND,THEN CAME BACK ON MULTIPLE TIMES ALONG WITH THE CHIMES AND WOULDN'T GO OFF,AT THE SAME TIME,THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOW WONT WORK,SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR 10 MINUTES,NOW EVERYTHING OPERATED FINE FOR A SHORT TIME,THEN IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. *TR
I HAVE HAD SMALL EPISODES BEFORE BUT DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT BUT YESTERDAY, PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, MY CAR STARTED TO LUNGE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I TRIED TO DRIVE AND IT WOULD SPEED UP WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING. IT WAS ALMOST LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL BUT IT DOESN'T. NO CONTROL TO STOP THE CAR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND, WITH ALL THESE COMPLAINTS WHY FORD HASN'T DONE ANYTHING. IT IS NOT MY FLOOR MAT. I REALIZED THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK AND PUT MY CAR INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WITH THE HELP OF A DIRT FIELD WITHOUT DOING THIS I WOULD HAVE CRASHED AND EITHER BEEN KILLED OR I WOULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. I CONTACTED FORD CORPORATION ABOUT MY PROBLEM AND THEY INSISTED THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE HEARD OF A MUSTANG DOING THIS. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND APPARENTLY THIS IS HAPPENING ALOT WITH THE MUSTANG. MY CAR HAS ONLY 33,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
