I WAS DRIVING AND PULLED OVER BECAUSE MY BACK WAS BEING BURNED. MY DRIVER'S SEAT CAUGHT FIRE DUE TO HEATED SEATS MALFUNCTION. FORTUNATELY SMOTHERING THE FIRE DIDN'T REQUIRE HELP FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. I CALLED MARCOTTE FORD. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST $85.00 JUST TO LOOK AT IT. I CALLED THE FORD CORPORATION. FORD REFUSES TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY. THE LEAST THEY COULD DO, IS DISABLE THE BUTTON SO THERE ISN'T RISK OF STARTING ANOTHER FIRE.*DT CONSUMER STATED SEAT COILS SHORT CIRCUITED AND THE DAMAGE IS INSIDE AND OUT. CONSUMER PAID OVER $300.00 FOR AFTER MARKET SOLUTION.*JB
I OWN A 2012 FORD MUSTANG AND RECENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. IT WAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS OUTLINED IN FORD'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16B23 (HTTPS://FORD.OEMDTC.COM/2670/16B23-ELECTRONIC-THROTTLE-BODY-REPLACEMENT-2011-2012-FORD-LINCOLN/5). I HAVE A 2012 3.7L V6 MUSTANG THAT I BELIEVE SHOULD HAVE FALLEN UNDER THIS PROGRAM. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY MAIL OR EMAIL NOTIFYING ME OF THIS PROGRAM, ALTHOUGH I HAD LIVED AT THE SAME ADDRESS FOR AS LONG AS I HAD OWNED THE CAR AND PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED AN AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE, SO I KNOW FORD HAS MY ADDRESS. I WAS ALSO AT MY DEALER FOR SERVICE APPOINTMENTS (THE SAME DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR) DURING THE PROGRAM TIME PERIOD AND THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME EITHER. LONG STORY SHORT, I JUST HAD TO PAY A LITTLE OVER $400 TO HAVE MY LOCAL FORD DEALER REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. I ASKED ABOUT THIS PROGRAM AND WAS TOLD BECAUSE IT WAS OUTSIDE OF THE PROGRAM END DATE THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. MY QUESTION IS, WHY DIDN'T FORD CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS PROGRAM IF MY CAR WAS COVERED? IF MY CAR WASN'T COVERED, HOW DID FORD DISTINGUISH BETWEEN WHICH CARS WERE WORTHY OF BEING IN THE PROGRAM AND WHICH WEREN'T? THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME AS THE CAR RANDOMLY LOST POWER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ONE TIME I WAS DOING 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITH ALOT OF TRAFFIC AROUND ME. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN OPEN MEDIAN I COULD COAST INTO, BUT I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN AS FORTUNATE AS OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. I DO NOT BELIEVE FORD'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16B23 WHICH WAS ONLY IN EFFECT FOR A YEAR WAS ADEQUATE TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY HAZARD. I ALSO DO NOT BELIEVE THAT FORD DID THEIR DUE DILIGENCE TO NOTIFY OWNERS OF THIS PROGRAM AND THE ASSOCIATED SAFETY HAZARD.
MY 2012 MUSTANG LOOSE POWER STEERING MAKING CONTROL VERY DIFFICULT. THIS IS COMMON ON MUSTANG INTERNET FORUMS. DEALER SAYS INTERNAL ELECTRONICS FAIL. WHILE MY CAR IS A 2012 IT ONLY HAS 3500 MILES. MINE IS STATIONARY AND THEN AFTER THE CAR COOLS DOWN.

MY CAR IS PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL BUT I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD. I PREFER NOT TO WAIT ON FORD AS I AM DRIVING THE CAR. HOW DO I GET MY AIRBAG ADDRESSED BY FORD ASAP?
TAKATA RECALL - I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE RECALL NOTICES FROM FORD STATING THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND THAT MY LIFE IS IN DANGER. HOWEVER, WHEN I CALL THE FORD DEALERSHIPS THEY ONLY TAKE MY NAME AND STATE THAT THEY WILL CALL. I HAVE BEEN ON THE LIST FOR MONTHS AND AM WORRIED ABOUT MY PERSONAL SAFETY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO DISPLAY THE CORRECT SPEED AND THE BRAKES SEIZED. IN ADDITION, THE BCM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (GULLO FORD OF CONROE-THE WOODLANDS, 925 I-45 S, CONROE, TX 77301, (281)-367-0000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A MOLDED LEAD FRAME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
WHILE DRIVING, AT ANY SPREED, WITHOUT WARNING, THE ENGINE WILL JUST STOP DRIVING. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON, AND YOU HAVE TO BE LUCKY TO NOT HAVE TRAFFIC, AS YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF IGNITION, AND RESTART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. CODE: P2111. THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY, AND SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS.
CROSSING LANES ON HIGHWAY CAR STOPS ACCELERATING,. CAR UNABLE TO SPEED UP EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS TO WORKS FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH COME ON. HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF THE ROAD PARK CHECKED ENGINE RESTARTED CAR OPERATED NORMALLY ALL WARNING LIGHTS OFF.

THE CONTACT CALLED CAVALIER FORD CHESAPEAKE SQUARE AT 833-858-5801 (LOCATED AT 4021 PORTSMOUTH BLVD., CHESAPEAKE, VA 23321) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
TAKATA RECALL: 17V-024. 03/2017 I RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FROM FORD ABOUT PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. 02/2018 ALMOST A YEAR LATER, I RECEIVED LETTER FROM FORD THAT REPAIR IS AVAILABLE AND TO SCHEDULE TIME WITH DEALER. MY LOCAL DEALER IS FAIRWAY FORD IN PLACENTIA, CA WHICH IS 10 MINUTES AWAY. SINCE I RECEIVED THE LETTER UNTIL THIS DATE I HAVE CALLED THEM EVERY MONTH TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. THEY KEEP TELLING ME PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND I SHOULD WAIT FOR THEM TO CALL ME. MEANWHILE I AM FORCED TO DRIVE A DANGEROUS VEHICLE. SOMETHING IS DREADFULLY WRONG WITH THIS RECALL PROCESS.

TAKATA AIRBAG, I AM TRYING TO GET A REPAIR OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER 3 MOS AGO TO HAVE THE PARTS ORDERED BUT THEY SEEM TO BE DRAGGING THEIR FEET. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO TO GET THIS REPAIRED I GOT MY LETTER STATING THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE THRU FORD BUT HAVEN'T HAD ANY LUCK. WOULD LIKE TO DRIVE THE CAR SOMEDAY?
AT APPROXIMATELY 57,000 MILES THE LEFT (DRIVERS) POWER SEAT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. IT WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD OR BACK BUT IS LOCKED IN IT'S CURRENT POSITION. CONVINCED THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE, I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR THE SERVICE WORK. THEY ADVISED SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY THAT THIS REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE MOTOR THAT HAS GO BAD CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED BY BUYING THE ENTIRE SEAT ASSEMBLY AT CLOSE TO $1000 WHICH I CAN'T AFFORD.
AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND APPLICATION OF THE GAS PEDAL, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL TO ENGAGE FIRST GEAR. THIS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ALSO DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH. BROUGHT TO FORD AND THEY IDENTIFIED THE LEAD FRAME AND CONNECTOR AS FAULTY PARTS. FORD HAS A RECALL 16S19 THAT COVERS MY MUSTANG'S BUILD DATE AND LOCATION BUT SAID MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED DESPITE THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AND EXACT SAME PARTS IDENTIFIED BY A FORD TECHNICIAN THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FORD THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIRS TO A DANGEROUS CONDITION.

LOST POWER IN MY 2012 V6 MUSTANG. WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING LIMP HOME MODE. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. TURNED ENGINE OFF AND THE IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT TWO MILES THEN CUT OFF AGAIN. RESTARTED AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. GOING TO TRY AND GET IT TO THE SHOP TOMORROW, BUT THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM IN MY MIND. WAS LUCKY I DIDN'T GET REAR ENDED

TAKATA RECALL WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. SEVERAL LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD TURNED ON (AIRBAG, FUEL LEVEL , WRENCH LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE ) AND SAID TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR DEFAULTED. AFTER RESTARTED THE CAR, EVERYTHING WORKS NORMALLY. FORD DEALER CHECKED THE CAR AND SAID MY PCM DIDN'T WORK. AND REPLACED IT FOR $1000. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THE PROBLEM CAME AGAIN. THEY DID'T FIX IT.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I GOT NOTICE FROM FORD (FEB 2018) SAYING MY PART WAS IN AND SETUP APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TO GET REPAIRED. I SETUP APT FOR 4/3.. THEY CALLED ME TWO DAYS BEFORE MY APT AND SAID THEY DID NOT GET PART YET. AS OF TODAY 5/18 THEY STILL SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART (PASSENGER AIRBAG). I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED. HELP

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CASE WAS OPENED, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST TWO YEARS IT SEEMS FOR PARTS TO BECOME AVAILABLE TO REPLACE MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THERE HAS BEEN BARELY ANY NEWS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT AND MANY OF US ARE STARTING TO LOSE HOPE THAT THEY ARE EVEN REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING THESE THINGS REPLACED. I AM UNABLE TO EVEN HAVE MY GIRLFRIEND IN THE CAR ANYMORE BECAUSE SHE FEELS UNSAFE. I'M UNABLE TO SELL THE CAR BECAUSE PEOPLE FEEL UNSAFE. AND I'M UNABLE TO TRADE THE CAR IN BECAUSE THE RECALL IS GIVING THE DEALERSHIPS REASON TO LOW-BALL ME. I LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT IS VERY HUMID WHICH IS WHAT SUPPOSEDLY CAUSING THESE THINGS TO DETERIORATE, AND YET I'VE GOTTEN NO NEWS FOR MONTHS ABOUT WHEN MY REPLACEMENT WILL BE READY. I NOT ONLY THINK THAT THE AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES SHOULD START TAKING MORE ACTION IN GETTING THIS WORKED OUT BUT I THINK THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE IN MY SITUATION SHOULD RECEIVE COMPENSATION. WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND IN CARS WITH HAND GRENADES IN THE DASHBOARD?
AIR BAG INFLATOR HAS BEEN ON RECALL FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE

TAKATA RECALL: FORD DEALER ( NORTH CENTRAL FORD ) THEY STATED THAT FORD HAS NOT INFORMED THEM HOW TO HANDLE THIS RECALL. THERE ARE NO PARTS TO HANDLE IT. WHAT IF MY SON IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS KILLING HIM OR WHO EVER IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. HOW ARE WE GOING TO FIX THIS?
WHEN STARTING MY CAR, THE WRENCH ICON STAYS LIT ON MY DASHBOARD. THE CAR MANUAL STATES THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THE CAR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHEN I AM (OR NOT) PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL- SOMETIMES WHEN I LIGHTLY PUSH THE PEDAL, THE ENGINE REVS, OTHER TIMES THE CAR WON'T MOVE AT ALL. THIS HAS PUT ME (AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD) IN A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION TO BE IN, THAT I CAN'T CONTROL MY CAR. I HAVE READ MANY THINGS ONLINE THAT THERE HAS BEEN THIS ISSUE WITH MANY OTHER FORD/LINCOLN CARS, FROM 2011-2015. WHEN CALLING MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE FREE OF CHARGE, EVEN THOUGH FORD HAD A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM". I WAS TOLD MY CAR IS NOT IN THOSE THAT HAD THAT ISSUE.
THE GETRAG MT-82 MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN MY MUSTANG HAS HAD A HISTORY OF SHIFTS THAT TAKE EXTRA EFFORT, CLUNKY SHIFT ENGAGEMENT, AND A HIGH PITCHED WHINING NOISE FROM THE DRIVETRAIN UNDER THROTTLE APPLICATION, SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED 5 YEARS AGO. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT AT A FORD DEALER, BUT THEY SAY NOTING IS WRONG. THE WHINE IS PRESENT EVERY TIME I DRIVE, THE OTHER ISSUES ARE INTERMITTENT. IN THE MOST ODD INCIDENT THAT I HAD IN THE VEHICLE, I WAS IN 2ND GEAR UNDER THROTTLE AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE WILDLY BACK AND FORTH, WITH A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY ON THE DATE, A FEW YEARS AGO FOR SURE. I HAVE TRIED TO REPLICATE THE EFFECT, AND IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW OTHER TIMES IN A LESS DRAMATIC MANNER, BUT NEVER QUITE LIKE THAT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE, AND FEEL IT IS NOT VERY SAFE. I KNOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, BUT HAVE CONTACTED NUMEROUS FORD DEALERS IN AN ATTEMPT TO HAVE THIS RECALL SATISFIED, WITH NO SATISFACTION.
OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. IT HAS DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR ON ITS OWN FROM DIFFERENT GEARS, IT HAS STAYED LOCKED IN GEAR ON SEVERAL GEARS AND IT HAS STAYED IN A HIGH GEAR WHILE STOPPED, SO IT IS VERY SLOW LEAVING A LIGHT. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. NO TROUBLE CODES OR LIGHTS (MIL OR WRENCH) HAVE BEEN THROWN OR LIT UP DURING THE INCIDENTS. THE CAR SEEMS TO RIGHT ITSELF AFTER A FEW MINUTES. HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A LONG PERIOD AND IS COLD. TOOK THE CAR TO GLENN FORD IN NICHOLASVILLE, KY AND EXPLAINED WHAT THE VEHICLE WAS DOING AND IF IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL THAT THEY PERFORMED (16N02/16S19) ON THE CAR BACK IN FEB 2017. THEY BRUSHED IT OFF AND SAID IT WOULD BE $110 TO LOOK AT THE CAR. WE SAID FINE. THEY HAVE HELD THE CAR FOR 6 DAYS AND SAID THEY DROVE IT AT LEAST 36 MILES AND "NOTHING HAPPENED". THEY SAID THERE ARE NO DTC/FAULT CODES, SO THE CAR IS PERFECTLY FINE. THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT PERFORM THE MOLDED LEADFRAME REPAIR OF THE RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE NO FAULT CODES. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPLAINING OF THE SITUATION BECAUSE THE INFO ON THE NOTICE SAYS EITHER A FAULT CODE SHOWS UP OR THE CUSTOMER "REPORTS AN INTERMITTENT UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR". WELL, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE REPORTED BEFORE WE EVEN REALIZED ANYTHING ABOUT THE LEADFRAME PART OF THE RECALL. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNLESS THERE IS A DEFAULT CODE/DTC SHOWING. THEY WANT US TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL A FAULT CODE SHOWS (THUS POSSIBLY ENDANGERING OUR LIVES) AND THEN THEY WILL LOOK AT IT AGAIN. DOESN'T MEAN FIX IT, JUST LOOK AT IT AGAIN FOR ANOTHER $110. THIS IS COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE. FORD WON'T EVEN FIX IT UNDER THEIR OWN RECALL INSTRUCTIONS!!!! AND THE CAR QUALIFIES!

DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN A STRAIGHT LINE UNDER DRY CONDITIONS AT ABOUT A CONSTANT 30 MPH, THE CAR STARTED PULSING THE FRONT CORNER BRAKES. AT THE SAME TIME, THE VEHICLES TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND OFF. I WAS NOT APPLYING THE BRAKES AT THE TIME. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE CAR'S TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM THOUGHT MY TIRES WERE SPINNING, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. I STOPPED AND INSPECTED MY FRONT WHEEL AND FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THE TIRE OR ITS ALIGNMENT OR FENDER CLEARANCE. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR, THE PROBLEM STOPPED. SHIFT SOLENOID D : VEH IS PART OF RECALL 16S19 AND RECALL 16N02. THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTING STILL AT WITHOUT WARNING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THIS DEVICE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL, AND FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER THIS DEFECT ALTHOUGH IT IS CLEARLY A PART OF THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD HAD ORDERED THESE TRANSMISSIONS FROM A MANUFACTURER IN CHINA, AND THEY'VE BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE FROM DAY ONE.
