TAKATA RECALL I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS VEHICLE, BUT I HAVEN'T OWNED OR LEASED THIS VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO REQUEST THAT THEY REDIRECT THE RECALL NOTICE TO THE CURRENT OWNER BUT THEY SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO SO. PART OF THE EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN WAS THAT FORD DOESN'T SEND OUT THE NOTICES, THEY SUBCONTRACT THIS TO ANOTHER ENTITY. I DON'T KNOW WHO THE CURRENT OWNER IS. I WAS THE ORIGINAL LESSEE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN I WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THIS WAS PART OF THE MANAGEMENT LEASE VEHICLE PROGRAM. ALL REGISTRATION OF THE VEHICLE WAS HANDLED BY THEM, FOR THIS AND ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES THAT I LEASED FROM THEM AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM. THIS VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO FORD AT THE END OF THE LEASE AND THEY THEN DISPOSITIONED IT, EITHER THROUGH RESALE OR OTHER RESULT. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT FORD KNOWINGLY IS NOT INFORMING THE CORRECT OWNER/LESSEE OF THIS VEHICLE OF THE CURRENT TAKATA RECALLS. I REGRET THAT I HAVE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AS A FORMER EMPLOYEE WHO RESPECTS THE COMPANY AND ITS PRODUCTS, BUT MY INTENT IS TO ENSURE THAT THE CURRENT OWNER OF THE VEHICLE IS NOTIFIED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE. THE BOLT ON OUR 2014 MUSTANG'S STEERING COLUMN (INSIDE BY THE FIRE WALL) CAME LOOSE AND FELL OUT CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN FREELY. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT WHERE THE CAR COULD COAST INTO A PARKING SPACE AND NOT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHERE THEY ARE REPLACING THE BOLT.
WATER CLOGGED UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF FORD MUSTANG 2014 CONVERTIBLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PARKED IN FRONT OF HOME ALONG THE CURB FOR 15-20 DAYS AND ITS RAINY SEASON IN CALIFORNIA. A PUDDLE IS FORMED ON THE LEFT SIDE UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT. CAR WAS PARKED DOWNHILL SO WATER ACCUMULATED IN THE FRONT. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE WATER WHICH GETS ACCUMULATED OVERTIME IN THE LEFT/DRIVER DOOR IN SOME MODELS OF MUSTANG. OVERTIME, IT CROSSES THRESHOLD AND STARTS LEAKING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IDEALLY, WATER SHOULD BE DRAINED AUTOMATICALLY. BUT TO REMOVE WATER FROM DOOR YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE BLACK PLUG AT BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. AND NO WAY TO REMOVE WATER FROM INSIDE OF THE CAR. IT POTENTIALLY CAUSES SERIOUS DAMAGE TO INTERNALS OF CAR AND MOLDS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS PEOPLE FACING THIS ISSUE AND ITS COMMON IN SOME MUSTANGS. WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET I HAVE MY SEAT WARMER ON IN MY DRIVERS SEAT AFTER A SHORT PERIOD, THE BACK OF MY SEAT GETS SO HOT THAT I CAN'T LEAN AGAINST IT. TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2600.00. ALSO SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS ON DIAGNOSIS AND CAR RENTAL.

TAMARA RECALL, THE TRACTION LIGHT COME ON AND OFF THE POWER STEERING FAILURE LIGHT COME ON AND MAKES A SCREECHING NOISE, AND THE POWER STEERING GETS EXTREMELY STIFF IN TURNS LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO LOCK UP. THE CAR ONLY HAS 44,000 MILES. ALL THIS HAPPENED WHILE ON A CITY STREET WHEN TURNING. IT'S THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING/ RACK AND PINION. THERE ARE A LOT OF POST ON YOUTUBE AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL INADVERTENTLY MANEUVERED TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY STEER THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT AGAIN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAM PACK'S FIVE STAR FORD LEWISVILLE (1144 N STEMMONS FWY, LEWISVILLE, TX 75067, (469) 470-4900) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I PURCHASED THIS 2014 MUSTANG 11/15/2018, AFTER DOING THE PAPERWORK AND BEFORE I TOOK DELIVERY THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD IT'S A SENSOR IN DRIVERS SEAT AND WOULD BE A COUPLE DAYS. THEN AFTER THAT I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO GO INTO A FORD DEALER TO BE FIXED ON 11/28/2018. ON THIS DATE I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDS A HARNESS FOR THE DRIVER SEAT AIRBAG AND THAT NO DEALER HAS THE PART AND FORD HASN'T MANUFACTURED ANY. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS I WAS ABLE TO GET A RENTAL, NOW I'M AFRAID THAT I'M NOT GOING TO GET MY CAR THAT IS REGISTERED AND INSURED AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THRU A FORD DEALER KNOWN BY MY FAMILY THAT IT'S BACKORDERED UNTIL 3/4/2019. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I'M GOING TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON A CAR I OWN BUT CAN'T DRIVE AND I'M WORRIED THE RENTAL WILL GET PULLED FROM ME WHEN THEY FIND OUT HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO FIX MY CAR. I PURCHASED A CAR A MONTH AGO, RIGHT AFTER I FILLED ALL PAPERWORK OUT AND WAS TO TAKE DELIVERY THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT OFF. THEY SENT CAR TO A FORD DEALER 2 WEEKS LATER AND SAID THE PART NEEDED IS ON BACKORDER UNTIL 12/14. (I AM MAKING PAYMENTS AND INSURANCE ON CAR) THEY GAVE ME A PART NUMBER OF DR3Z1HA005HC AND CARMAX IS TELLING ME NOW THE FORD DEALER IS GIVING THEM A HARD TIME. I HAVE SEARCHED THIS PART THRU FORD AND THERE ISN'T ONE. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A DRIVERS SEAT AIRBAG HARNESS THAT HAS SENSORS ON IT. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO AS A CONSUMER? I WANT THIS CAR! I NEED THIS CAR! I'M PAYING FOR THIS CAR! EVERYONE IS BEING UNHELPFUL!
THE ENGINE HAS DEVELOPED A 'TYPE-WRITER' TICK SOUND
WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN THE STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. ON MY CONSOLE A MESSAGE STATING THAT I HAD A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT SHOWED UP. SINCE I COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL I HAD TO STOP IMMEDIATELY SINCE IT WAS HEADING INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN. I RESTARTED THE CAR COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THE STEERING WOULD NOT BUDGE. HAD TO HAVE A TOW TRUCK PICK THE CAR UP. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND EVEN WHEN UP ON THE RACK IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. SINCE I WAS TURNING I HAD SLOWED DOWN OTHERWISE THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT SINCE I COULD NOT MOVE THE WHEEL AT ALL.

AIR CONDITIONING / VENT SYSTEMS. AC STOPPED WORKING, JUST PRIOR WHEN I USED MY DEFOGGER I NOTICED A FILM ON MY WINDSHIELD. AFTER IT STOPPED THIS FILM WAS SO MASSIVE, I WAS IN SERIOUS RAIN STORM AND I COULD NOT SEE OUT, I HAD TO REALLY OPEN WINDOWS WITH RAIN POURING IN TO GET FILM OFF, I HAD PROB DRIVING WITH WINDOW OPENED SO MUCH I CLOSED TO A QUARTER, AND AGAIN THE FILM CAME BACK ONLY THIS TIME I HIT FLOODING ON I-75 SHORTLY BEFORE MY EXIT, CAUSING ME TO SWERVE INTO THE PATH OF A TRACTOR TRAILER, THANK GOD FOR MANUAL I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT AND ESCAPE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED FORD AND I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, THERE WAS A FEE OF WHICH I JUST DIDN'T HAVE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COME OFF REPAIR BILL WHICH WOULD BE $2000.00 MY WARRANTY ONLY EXPIRED THE MONTH PRIOR. UNBELIEVABLE! I HAVE DONE LOADS OF RESEARCH, AND HAVE SEEN WAY TOO MANY MUSTANGS OF VARIOUS YEARS AND SPOKE WITH OWNERS AND ALL OF US HAVE SAME EXACT ISSUE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS AND ALL FORD SAYS IS "IT HAPPENS". THIS IS NOT A COMFORT ISSUE BUT A SERIOUS CONDITION THAT CAN GET SOMEONE KILLED IF THEY NEED THEIR FOGGER. CAN YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS I HAVE PUT UP A WEBSITE AND AM BEGINNING TO COLLECT SIGNATURES FOR PROOF. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING MINOR WITH SO MANY VEHICLES WITH EXACT SAME ISSUES. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the hood was rusting. The vehicle was taken to local dealer where it was diagnosed with nothing to be replaced. The dealer was unable to assist until the hood was rusted all the way through. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,300.
LACK OF RESPONSE FROM THE KISTLER FORD DEALERSHIP (5555 W. CENTRAL AVE. TOLEDO, OH 43615) TO REMEDY THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. FOR OVER A YEAR I HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST FOR PARTS AVAILABILITY TO CONDUCT THE REPAIR... IN FACT, MY NAME WAS TAKEN OFF THE ORIGINAL WAITING LIST FOR SOME REASON; IT WAS PUT BACK ON THE LIST A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP AND INQUIRED ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE PARTS/REPAIR. IT WAS ONLY AFTER I AGAIN VISITED THE DEALERSHIP EARLIER TODAY THAT SOMEONE IN THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT PARTS WERE, IN FACT, AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY WOULD CONDUCT MY REPAIR TOMORROW, 7/17/2018. I ALSO FOUND IT DISTURBING THAT WITH PARTS IN INVENTORY, I WAS TOLD THAT MY NAME WAS NUMBER SEVEN ON THEIR WAITING LIST... APPARENTLY THERE ARE SIX PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME WAITING FOR THE SAME REPAIR. I GUESS I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT I AM BEING GIVEN PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT AND JUMPING AHEAD OF THE OTHERS WHO ARE ALSO "WAITING FOR PARTS" TO CONDUCT THIS REPAIR. I ALSO FIND IT IRONIC THAT I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING REPEATED FACE BOOK NOTICES FROM FORD IMPLYING THAT I AM BEING NEGLIGENT IN NOT GETTING THIS AIRBAG REPAIR DONE... I HAVE REPLIED TO THEIR E-MAILS EXPLAINING THAT THE "BALL IS IN THEIR COURT" WAITING FOR PARTS... THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE APPARENT COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN IN THE RECALL PROCESS BETWEEN FORD CORPORATE AND THEIR DEALERS WHO APPEAR NOT TO BE TAKING THIS ISSUE VERY SERIOUSLY.
TAKATA RECALL - WE HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS LETTERS, POSTCARD AND EMAILS ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL AND WE HAVE TRIED, UNSUCCESSFULLY NUMEROUS TIMES TO SET UP A DATE AND TIME FOR THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT WITH OUR DEALERSHIP. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO SEVERAL PEOPLE TELLING THE ISSUES REPEATEDLY TO EACH PERSON I SPOKE TO. I WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER I WAS TOLD WHOM DID NOT ANSWER AND I LEFT A VERY DETAILED MESSAGE REGARDING THE REASON FOR MY CALL, THE SPECIFICS OF THE CAR AND MULTIPLE WAYS TO CONTACT MYSELF OR MY FIANCE. I HAVE HAD TO CALL SEVERAL MORE TIMES DIE TO NOT RECEIVING ANY RETURN CALL FROM ANYONE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A MONTH. I HAVE LOOKED TO SEE IF I COULD SCHEDULE AND APPOINTMENT ONLINE AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION AVAILABLE. THEREFORE I HAVE HAD TO TAKE TIME AWAY FROM OTHER OBLIGATIONS TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TO COMPLAIN TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE THIS REMEDIED. INITIALLY THEY WERE RECEPTIVE AND NOW FOUR DAYS LATER THEY HAVE REVERTED BACK TO FAILING TO RETURN MY PHONE CALLS. I HAVE ALSO BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH CORROSION ON THE BATTERY AND THE BATTERY WIRE CABLES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. DESPITE MAKING THE DEALERSHIP AWARE OF THIS THEY HAVE FAILED TO TAKE ANY STEPS TO EVEN DETERMINE THE ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, MY SECURITY SYSTEM ON MY CAR WAS APPARENTLY BYPASSED BY THIEVES AND I HAVE TALKED TO THE TOP BOSS OF THIS DEALERSHIP AND HE HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS IN FACT DISABLED AND THAT WITHOUT THEM RUNNING A DIAGNOSTICS TEST ON THE CAR THEY CANNOT DETERMINE TO WHAT EXTENT THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS DAMAGED, IF IT IS REPARABLE, OR IF THERE MAY BE MORE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE COMPUTER / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MY SECURITY SYSTEM HAS BEEN NON-FUNCTIONAL FOR A MONTH AT THIS POINT AND I CANNOT GET THE DEALERSHIP TO SIMPLY RETURN MY CALL TO REMEDY THIS.

WATER CONSTANTLY LEAKS INTO BOTH REAR QUARTER PANELS. THIS WATER FREEZES IN THE WINTER CAUSING FROZEN WATER TO BANG AGAINST QUARTER PANEELS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITAL FORD (2805 E MILLBROOK RD, RALEIGH, NC 27604, 877-660-1721) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
ADVANCED TRACK LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AS WELL AS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS THOUGH CAR WAS FINE THEN NEW YEARS EVE A DRIVER CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND SECONDS BEFORE IMPACT MY BRAKES LOCKED UP, AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I THEN IMPACTED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH COULD OF KILLED ME AND MY PASSENGER AS WE WERE BOTH SEVERELY HURT FROM SLAMMING AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIM THE DASHBOARD. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET IRVING BOLIVARD AT A SPEED OF 40MPH. CURRENTLY THE CRASH IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY MY NAME IS [XXX] AND MY NUMBER IS [XXX]. THE WHEELS ARE MACHINED IN A NON-STANDARD WAY ON THE BEAD SURFACE AND MOST REPLACEMENT TIRES CANNOT BE SEATED ON THE BEAD OF THE WHEELS. THE OEM WHEELS HAVE MACHINED SLOTS IN THEM NEAR THE BEAD SEATING AREA & THE AIR LEAKS OUT THESE SLOTS WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SEAT THE BEAD TO INSTALL THE NEW TIRES. THESE WHEELS ARE 18" X 8" SIZE AND CAME ON THE FP6 APPEARANCE PACKAGE WITH MY VEHICLE FROM FORD. I SPENT 2 DAYS AT TIRE STORES WAITING FOR INSTALLATION OF NEW TIRES ON MY CAR. SEVERAL BRANDS OF TIRES WERE TRIED AND MOST WON'T SEAT ON THE BEAD OF THESE WHEELS. ALL OF THE TIRES TRIED ARE THE STOCK OEM SIZE OF 235/50R18. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES, THE TIRE STORE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET ONE INSTALLED, BUT IT COST ABOUT TWICE WHAT I PLANNED TO SPEND ON THE NEW TIRES.

AIR CONDITIONER CLUTCH CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AT 52000 MILES. THIS CREATES A VISIBILITY PROBLEM WHEN THE INTERIOR WINDSHIELD IS FOGGED UP AS IT CANNOT BE PROPERLY DEFOGGED WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR COMPONENT TO FAILURE ON THIS VEHICLE IN 5 WEEKS, AS THE WATER PUMP WENT OUT AUGUST 10TH WHILE DRIVING AND DUMPED ALL THE COOLANT, QUICKLY OVERHEATING THE MOTOR.

LIMP MODE- MY MUSTANG ABOUT A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN IN TO LIMP MODE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 70 WHEN I LOST ALL POWER TO MY CAR AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY AND SHUT MY CAR DOWN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. AFTER MY CAR STARTED AND I WENT ON MY WAY. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND IT COULD BE THE ETB (ELECTRICAL THROTTLE BODY) IT HAS BEEN FIND UNTIL THIS WEEKEND. TODAY I HAD TO RESET MY VEHICLE 6 TIMES DURING A FEW HOUR RUNNING AROUND. THE LAST TIME MY VEHICLE JUST THREW A CODE. I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I AM AFRAID THAT I MIGHT CAUSE MORE DAMAGE THEN WHAT IT COULD. AT STARTUP, WHILE LEAVING THE NEIGHBORHOOD A DRY CLEAR DAY (NO RAPID ACCELERATION) , EXPERIENCES A LOSS OF POWER. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. WHEN BRAKES APPLIED, GRINDING SOUND OCCURS THEN NORMAL DRIVING RESUMES AND LIGHT TURNS OFF. FIRST OCCURRED 2 YEARS AGO. SINCE BRAKES ROTORS CHANGED, STILL OCCURS, MUCH MORE OFTEN NOW, ON DATE INDICATED, HAPPENED 3 TIMES WITHIN 1/4 MILE, LESS THAN 1 MILE TOTAL DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING USING THE TECTONIC SHIFTING ON MY AUTOMATIC V8 MUSTANG AND I WAS COMING TO A STOP AND LOWERING THE GEARS MY CAR STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS AND IT WAS GOING, INCREASED SPEED UNEXPECTEDLY.
THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE LOOSING POWER STEERING IN MY MUSTANG WHILE DRIVING. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM FORD DOES HAVE LOTS OF RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM. BUT DIDN'T FIND MY YEAR 2014 FOR A RECALL. THE PROBLEM IS I DID LOOSE MY POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING AND THIS IS UNSAFE SINCE I DO DRIVE MY CAR FAST. MY DEFAULT LIGHT OR WARNING LIGHT DID COME ON AS I PULLED OVER AND FOUND IT HARD TO STEER MY VEHICLE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME MY CAR HAS DONE THIS AND WILL MONITOR THE PROBLEM. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR MY TURNING THE KEY OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SO I RESET THE SYSTEM BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLES AND THAT DID FIX THE PROBLEM AND GOT BACK MY POWER STEERING ON MY MUSTANG. THERE IS NO POWER STEERING PUMP ON THIS CAR AS THE RACK PINION IS CONTROLLING THE POWER STEERING.

THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IN MY MUSTANG VIBRATES ON ANY ROAD WITH IMPERFECTIONS SO THAT YOU CANNOT DISTINGUISH WHAT TYPE A VEHICLE IS BEHIND YOU. I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE NEW ONE DOES THE SAME. THIS ISSUE IS ON A MAJORITY OF MUSTANGS, ACCORDING TO FORUMS, AND I BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CANNOT DISTINGUISH IF THERE IS A SAFETY VEHICLE BEHIND YOU.
I'VE HAD SEVERAL RECALL MAILINGS TO TELL ME THAT AN AIRBAG IS AVAILABLE TO REPLACE, ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR, AND WHEN I CALL THE DEALER, HE SAYS THEY HAVE NO PARTS AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHY I KEEP GETTING THE NOTICE TO TAKE IT IN THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.
THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER SLOSHING AROUND IN THE REAR PORTION OF THIS CAR. IT IS A CONVERTIBLE AND IT HAS ACCUMULATED WATER IN THE WELL WHERE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP GOES WHEN IT HAS BEEN LOWERED. SOME OF THIS WATER HAS MIGRATED INTO THE REAR SEAT AREA AND THE CARPET HAS BEEN SOAKING WET. THIS WATER DOES NOT DRAIN OUT AND IT CAN BE HEARD SLOSHING AROUND WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 ( AIR BAGS) AND HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO PARKS FORD DEALER, LOCATED ON 3333 N MAIN ST, GAINESVILLE FL 32609, WHERE THEY HAD INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HOWEVER RECEIVED SEVERAL EMAILS AND MAIL NOTIFICATIONS FROM FORD MANUFACTURER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL SERVICED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS DONE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. VIN TOOLS CONFIRMS PART NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL: I JUST PURCHASED THIS MUSTANG FROM A MOSES DEALERSHIP IN TOWN, THEY DID NOT MAKE ME AWARE OF THE RECALL. WHEN I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPT FOR ASSISTANCE, THEY STATED THAT FORD WILL NOT LET THEM ORDER THE REPLACEMENT PART, THAT FORD ONLY SENDS A LIMITED NUMBER OF THE PART TO DEALERS AND WILL NOT TELL THEM HOW MANY THEY WILL RECEIVE OR WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE THEM. THEY ADDED ME TO THEIR WAITING LIST. THIS RECALL COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH AND I'M JUST SUPPOSE TO DRIVE MY CAR LIKE THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT? PLEASE ADVISE ON HOW I SHOULD PROCEED. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2015, ONE WOULD THINK A DEALERSHIP WOULD BE MADE TO REPLACE THAT PART BEFORE SELLING THE VEHICLE TO SOMEONE.
RECALL TOOK OVER 4 MONTHS FOR PART AND HAD TO DRIVE 2HR EACH DIRECTION AND 2 HR WAIT
I WAS GOING TO WORK AROUND 15:45 WHEN I HAD TO ACCELARATE ON A MOUNTAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE FIFTH GEAR. I GAVE ENOUGH GAZ BUT THE ENGINE DID NOT WANT TO RESPOND. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN, NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ON THE 5TH GEAR, I DOWNSHIFTED TO THE 4TH GEAR. SAME RESULT THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND. THE ENGINE THEN STALLED, BATTERY LIGHT CAME UP, OIL AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP AFTER. THE ROAD WAS TURNING RADICALLY SO I TOLD MYSELF I WILL TRY TO STOP AFTER THE CURVE SO I WONT BE DANGEROUS TO OTHER CARS IN THE CURVE. PROBLEM IS, STEERING BOX FAILED TO FONCTION AND I ALMOST CRASHED IN A LIGHT POST. EVEN WITH MY TWO HANDS FORCING ON THE STEERING WHEEL IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I CALLED FORD ROAD ASSISTANCE FOR A TOWING. IT TOOK AROUND 40 MINUTES FOR IT TO ARRIVE. FOR A 12TH FEBRUARY IN QUBEC, IT IS LONG AND COLD TO WAIT IN A CAR 40 MINUTES WITH NO HEATING. TWO DAYS LATER FORD CALLED ME TO TELL ME OIL SMELLED GAZ AND SPARKED PLUGS WERE FINISHED, FOR THEN TELLING ME THE ENGINE IS DONE DUE TO A PISTON. BECAUSE OF A MODIFICATION ON THE ENGINE (A SUPERCHARGE) I AM AWARE THE WARRANTY WILL PROBABLY NOT COVER THE ENGINE, BUT THIS SEEMS TO NOT EXPLAIN WHY THE STEERING BOX FAILED IN WHICH I ALMOST DID AN ACCIDENT.
TAKATA REALL I PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A USED VEHICLE IN DEC. 2014. SHORTLY AFTER THIS I FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RECALLED. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE IN MAY 2015. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED YET BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. ABOUT A WEEK AGO I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM FORD TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. I CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT THE NOTICE WAS SENT BY MISTAKE, AND THAT MY CAR WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE REPAIR. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND I THINK FORD NEEDS TO COMPENSATE THE OWNERS FOR THE DIMINISHED VALUE OF THE CAR DURING THE TIME THAT IT HAS THIS DANGEROUS AIRBAG STILL IN THE CAR FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. VOLKSWAGEN HAD TO BUY BACK CARS THAT JUST POLLUTED THE AIR A LITTLE. FORD CAN GET AWAY WITH CARS THAT CAN KILL THE OWNERS AND HAVE DONE JUST THAT. I AM INCLUDING A SCAN OF THE NOTICE THAT FORD SENT ME. CANNOT SELL THE CAR AT LEAST NOT FOR VERY MUCH AND REALLY SHOULD NOT DRIVE IT. AT LEAST HONDA MOTOR CORPORATION OFFERS LOANER CARS FOR THEIR TAKATA AIRBAG PROBLEM CARS. FORD HAS ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO OFFER LOANERS FOR THEIR DANGEROUS VEHICLES. I AM JUST LUCKY SO FAR THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ACCIDENT THAT WILL DEPLOY THE DANGEROUS SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM USING THE TAKATA AIRBAG WITH DEFECTIVE INFLATOR. I ALSO WORRY THAT THE OTHER AIRBAGS IN THIS CAR WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
