TRANSMISSION FAILED .
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
IN AUGUST OF 1997 DEALERSHIP REPLACED ENGINE HEAD GASKET BECAUSE THERE WAS A HEAD GASKET LEAK. THEN, ON MAY 16TH 2001, ENGINE OVERHEATED WHICH WAS FROM OIL LEAKING INTO ANTIFREEZE. DEALERSHIP WAS EXAMINING VEHICLE AND WAS GOING TO REPLACE HEAD GASKET AGAIN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK
ENGINE STALLED AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN UNTIL COOL.
THE LEFT REAR FIRESTONE TIRE CAME OFF CAUSING HER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE THE ROADWAY AND RE-ENTER THE ROADWAY RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND THROWING THE FRONT PASSENGER FROM THE VEHICLE CAUSING HIS DEATH, TWO OTHER OCCUPANT WERE INJURED (BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE, P235/75R15, RADIAL ATX M/S VDHL1M0044 LEFT REAR). NLM
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START DUE TO FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONING. ALSO, FUEL GAUGE FAILED, GAUGE INCORRECTLY SHOWED GAS LEFT IN TANK WHILE IT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. *AK
ENGINE WAS SHAKING SO BAD DUE TO DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOUNTS THAT CAUSED THE AIR CONDITIONER TO FAIL.
AFTER TRANSMISSION HEATS UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE IT GOES INTO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF WHEN COMING TO A STOP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL AND GO IN AN UNDESIRED DIRECTION WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED. ALMOST CAUSED TWO ACCIDENTS INVOLVING PEDESTRIANS. *AK
SPLIT IN COOLANT HOSE CAUSED VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT AND ENGINE TO FAIL. TEMPERATURE GUAGE FAILED TO INDICATE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM.
AFTER TRAVELING AT HWY SPEED FOR 5-6 HRS I STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT.STARTED UP IN FIRST GEAR AND RACED WHEN IT SHIFTED TO SECOND GEAR AND DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE. NEMER FORD IN GLEN FALLS SAID INTERNAL PROBLEM. SAID OUT OF WARRANTY, AND HAD REPAIRED BY BOCCHI'S, AN INDEPENDANT SHOP. TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSED BY REBUILDER AS HAVING PLENATARY SHAFT FAILURE DUE TO INADEQUATE LUBRICATION. AS PER REPAIR SHOP THIS TRANNY DIDN'T HAVE LARGE ENOUGH OIL LINES TO CRITICAL PARTS SUCH AS PLANATARY GEAR. FORD DENIES PROBLEMS WITH THEIR TRANNIES AND SAID IT WAS MY PROBLEM DUE TO THE DATE IT HAPPENED. *AK
TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 40 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION WENT COMPLETELY OUT. THEREFORE, THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT GETTING INTO A COLLISION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
THE REAR DISC BRAKE BOLTS ARE STRIPPED. THEY ARE NOT ON SECURELY AND COULD LOOSEN AT ANYTIME, AND THE BRAKES COULD FALL OFF. CONSUMER STATED THAT THEY HAD BRAKES INSPECTED. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EITHER TO CLIMB UP A HILL / IN ON COMING TRAFFIC. *YC
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC VEHICLE WOULD DIE OR STALLS OUT FOR NO REASON. HAD TALKED TO DEALER & WAS INFORMED THE FUEL PUMP WAS UNDERSIZED. VAPORS LOCK THE ENGINE. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING 30MPH VEHICLE HIT METAL OBJECT IN ROAD. ARRIVING HOME, WAS TOLD ODOR OF GAS COULD BE SMELLED. LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE & NOTICED LEAK. TOOK TO DEALER & TOLD GAS LINE HAD A HOLE & POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE FAILURES OF THE HEAD GASKET PRIOR TO RECALL NOTIFICATION WHICH DAMAGED THE AIR CONDITIONING LINES,WATER PUMP AND OTHER COMPONENTS, WHEN THE GASKET BLEW. CONSUMER IS NOT ABLE TO OBTAIN REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR RECALL REPAIRS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED. *MJS
WELD BUSHING ON BALL JOINT FAILED.
THE FOREWARD PISTON IS CRACKED. WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP IT TAKES A WHILE FOR THE CAR TO SHIFT BACK IN TO GEAR, AND THERE IS A VIOLENT JERK WHICH CAN CAUSE WHIPLASH. *AK
MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED.
LOUD CREAKING NOISE EMANATING FROM VEHICLE'S FRONT END WHEN STEERING IS TURNED.
SPEEDODMETER WILL JUMP UP/ DOWN AND AROUND ON DASHBOARD. ODMETER WILL GO UP TO 90MPH AND WILL BE STUCK. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THIS SPEEDODMETER THREE TIMES.*AK
TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY FAILED, CAUSING CAR TO HESITATE.
VEHICLE WAS INVOVLED IN A INTER-SECTIONAL COLLISION TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH, AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS. THE FRONT END OF VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. IS BEING REPAIRED. *AK
THE FRONT AND REAR STRUTS THAT WERE INSTALLED BY SEARS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO RATTLE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THE STRUTS WERE INSTALLED ON APRIL 23, 1997. THESE ARE AFTER MARKET PARTS. *AK
HEAD GASKET BLEW LEAVING ME STRANDED ON HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND LOCKED UP ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE CAR TO SLOW RAPIDLY AS IF BRAKING LEAVING ME TO CROSS SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER WHERE I WAS STRANDED. *AK
WHEN SHIFTING INTO ANOTHER GEAR, TRANSMISSION TAKES A WHILE BEFORE CATCHING IN GEAR. ITS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM. TOOK TO DEALER & TOLD WOULD BREAK IT DOWN TO FIND WHAT IS CAUSING PROBLEM. *AK
INTERMITTENT RANSMISSION FAILURE. *AK

THERE WAS A CRACK OR SMALL PIN HOLE FOUND IN THE CASE OF THE TRANSMISSION, CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK AND DRIP ON THE EXHAUST PIPE.
WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, THE VEHICLE ENGINE STARTED RACING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO INCREASE ITS SPEED, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK THE VEHICLE WENT BACKWARD AT A HIGH SPEED AND THE DRIVER TRY TO STOP, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP IT BEFORE COLLISION. *YH

CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A REAREND COLLISION, WAS PUSHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MPH. LOCATION OF THE IMPACT FRONT END, AND THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK

APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, CAUSES DRIVER TO USE BOTH FEET IN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS STUCK THROTTLE HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. *AK
CAMSHAFT AND DISTRIBUTOR NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH OUT PRIOR WARNING. *AK
HEAD GASKETS HAVE BLOWN TWICE, NOW THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET IS LEAKING AND THERE IS A TINY KNOCK IN THE ENGINE, MECHANIC STATED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT AND ROD BEARINGS NEEDED REPLACED DUE TO GLYCOL IN THE ANTIFREEZE THAT HAD LEAKED INTO THE CRANKCASE, THIS HAD HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THE PREVIOUS FAULTY HEAD GASKETS, CONSUMER FEELS FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE PROBLEM. *SLC
MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT FUEL PUMP DIED OUT, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. OWNER QUESTIONS THE SAFETY OF THIS, IF SHE HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY. DEALERS ARE UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM, A FAULTY FUEL FILTER SEEMS TO BE MOST COMMON CAUSE. *AK

#EA9609, WHILE DRIVING THE HEADLIGHS ON THE VEHICLE WENT ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED. *AK
I HAVE COMPLIED TO FORD ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS BUT THEY SAID I WAS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM ABOUT THE HEADLIGHT GOING OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING AND THEY TOLD BE I SHOULD GET IT FIXED AND SAVE THE RECEIPT IN CASE IT WAS EVER RECALLED BUT THAT THEY WOULD NOT SINCE IT WASN'T INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. WHEN I REPLACED THIS HEADLIGHT SWITCH I NOTICED THAT THE PLACTIC PART AROUND THE WIRES LEADING TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH WERE MELTED AND VERY BURNED. THIS CONCERNS ME GREATLY AND HAS THE POSSIBILITY TO CAUSE A FIRE NOT TO MENTION THE HEADLIGHT GOING OFF THEM SELVES. I HAVE SAVED THE OLD FORD STYLE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AND WOULD BE MORE THAN WILLING TO GIVE IT TO YOU.*AK
THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED PREMATURELY AND THE CONSUMER WANTS INVESTIGATION TO BE INITIATED AS THERE WERE SERVICE BULLETINS (99-7-9) ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM, CONSUMER IS ON HIS THIRD SPEEDOMETER UNIT. *YH *CB
