WHEN THE ANTI THEFT LIGHT COMES ON VEHICLE WILL NOT START FOR TWO-THREE HOURS. VEHICLE STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. DEALER CAN FIND ANY DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER DROVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
BACKFIRE AND EXPLOSION. RECALL WAS ISSUED AFTER INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH OTHER PARTS. THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO WEAK GASKETS. AFTER REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE HAD BEGUN RUNNING ROUGH UPON ACCELERATION ALONG WITH MISSING. *SC
NHTSA 04V332000 CONCERNING FRONT COIL SPRING. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE.*AK
WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE TURNED ON THE ONLY WAY TO TURN THEM OFF IS BY TURNING THE CAR OFF. ALSO THE INTERMEDIETE PART OF THE WIPERS DOESN'T WORK SINCE ALL THIS STARTED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW. I HAVE LISTED THE LAST DAY IT HAPPENED BELOW. *AK
THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS FOUND FLAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TIRE REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE REAR COIL SPRING BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. *JB

CONCERNS FOR POSSIBILITY OF TIRE BEING RUPTURED WHILE DRIVING. *BF THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE WHICH STATED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT TIRE COULD RUPTURE THAT IT WAS OK TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DEC 2004. *JB
WINDSHIELD WIPER HOSES DEFECTIVE ON FORD 2000 TAURUS THIN PLATIC HOSES CRACKS AND BRITTLE TO TOUCH CAUSING WASHER TO LEAK AND OBSTUCTING DRIVERS ABILITY TO SEE CLEARLY IN WINTER ROAD SALTED CONDITIONS. I HAVE TWO TAURUS AND BOTH HOSES HAVE FAILED AFTER 4 YEARS. ALSO OIL PAN GASKET HAVE SLIPPED ON BOTH VEHICLES CAUSING OIL LEAKS WHICH IF NOT CAUGHT CAN SEVERLY LEAK OIL FROM ENGINE CAUSING MOTOR TO CEASE. *AK

CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 04V332000 CONCERNING COIL SPRINGS. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. SERVICE MANAGER PAT MILLIKEN. *AK
CONSUMER DROVE HOME IN THE RAIN, AND SIXDAYS LATER WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE BACK WHEELS WOULD NOT TURN. HE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REAR BRAKES RUSTED TOGETHER. CONSUMER HAD THE REAR BRAKES/SHOES REPLACED, AND THE ROTORS TURNED. CONSUMER NEVER HEARD OF REAR BRAKES RUSTING, AND DID NOT THINK WARRANTY WOULD PAY FOR IT. *AK *NM
THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR RECALL NUMBER 04V332000. HOWEVER, THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE REAR HAS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. FORD TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATIOIN. *JB
WHILE WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT AT STOP SIGN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED. TOWED VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, WHO INDICATED THE NEED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. *AK TRANSMISSION (GEAR) *TC
CONSUMER STATES THAT HE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN HE WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A STOP, THE BRAKES MADE A GRINDING NOISE, THEN AFTER HE PUMPED THE BRAKES HE HEARD A NOISE AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. HE STATED HE HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE MIDAS BRAKES SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT, THE PROBLEM LIES WITHIN HIS ABS. HE STATED HE HAS ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE 6 MOS AND HAS BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE HE OBTAINED THE VEHICLE. *JB
LEFT REAR SEATBELT WOULD NOT RETRACT AT ALL. RIGHT REAR SEATBELT WAS APPARENTLY OK. TOOK CAR IN FOR INSPECTION AT 57,945 MILES. WAS TOLD THAT BOTH SEATBELTS DO NOT WORK AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. AS STATED, RIGHT SIDE ONE WAS FINE UNTIL THEY "TESTED" IT, NOW THEY CLAIM IT WILL NOT RETRACT EITHER. CAR HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY (ALTHOUGH WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT IT DID NOT COVER SAFETY ITEMS) BUT SAFETY ITEMS ARE APPARENTLY ONLY COVERED 50,000/5 YRS (WE ARE WITHIN THE 5 YEAR LIMIT). I AM AWARE THAT THERE IS A FORD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 99V-250 FOR SEATBELTS, BUT I CANNOT ACCESS FURTHER INFO AS IT IS ON FORD'S INTERNAL WEBSITE. I AM ALSO UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT OTHER TAURUS MODEL YEARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SEATBELTS. ALTHOUGH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS STILL IN EFFECT, I SEEM TO HAVE NO RECOURSE, AND I FIND IT ODD THAT THE RIGHT SEATBELT FAILED AT THE DEALER DURING INSPECTION. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICED REFERENCING THE POTENTIAL OF THE FRONT COIL SPRING TO FRACTURE. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE PARTS FOR REPAIR ARE NOT AVAILABLE. *NM *TC
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON, THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH CYLINDER 5 AND THE IGNITION COIL WAS REPLACED ON THE CYLINDER. *BF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME BACK ON. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A BURNT EXHAUST VALVE ON CYLINDER 5. *SC
VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR FRONT COIL SPRING FAILURE. HOWEVER, THIS VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR COIL SPRING. CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN THE REAR COIL SPRING BROKE AND CUT A COMPLETE CIRCLE IN THE TIRE. *AK
REAR COIL SPRING BROKE CUTTING REAR TIRE. *AK
VEHICLE INTAKE MANIFOLD EXPLODED RESULTING IN NEAR FIRE WHICH ALSO DAMAGED THE EMISSION VALVE. *TS THE CONSUMER HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ON THE SECOND TRY IS WHEN THE EXPLOSION WAS HEARD. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD WHEN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD EXPLODED IT SHATTERED INTO LARGE FRAGMENTS AND SCATTERED THROUGH OUT THE ENGINE, 2 WEEKS LATER THE EMISSIONS LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER TOOL THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND UPON EXAMINATION IT WAS DISCOVERED THE EMISSIONS VALVE WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE EXPLOSION OR WAS THE ORIGIN OF THE PROBLEM WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO FAIL. *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT IN DECEMBER 2003 ONE SPRING WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH ONE STRUT AND THE TIRE ON DRIVER'S SIDE. CURRENTLY, THE VEHICLE WAS BEING RECALLED FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS ,AND DEALERSHI REFUSED TO DO SO. CONSUMER LATER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY TOO REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SPRINGS AT NO CHARGE. CONSUMER DRECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS DEFECT. *AK

WHILE DRIVING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE UPPER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WAS UNEXPECTEDLY LOW TO THE GROUND. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB

DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM THE FRONT COIL SPRING RECALL 04V332000 REPAIRS BECAUSE THE PARTS WON'T BE AVAILABLE FOR 31/2 MONTHS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER WOULD SIMULTANEOUSLY DEPRESS THE BRAKE/ACCELERATOR PEDALS. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL LETTER ON THE FRONT COIL SPRING, CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SERVICED UNTIL NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER 2004. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL 04V332000 CONCERNING FRONT COIL SPRING FAILURE. DEALERSHIPS DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO CONDUCT RECALLREPAIRS. CONSUMER CALLED ABOUT THREE DEALERS IN THE NEW YORK AREA, AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME ANSWER. *AK
COMBINATION METAL/RUBBER TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES ROTTED OUT SPRAYING HOT TRANSMISIION FLUID THROUGH OUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND ONTO THE HOT ENGINE. THIS FAILURE ON MY 2000 FORD TAURUS WAGON WITH 77,000 MILES WAS A COMPLETE SURPRISE AS MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A 1992 FORD SABLE WAGON THAT I SOLD WITH 395,000 MILES ON IT AND ALL THE MAJOR ORIIGINAL COMPONENTS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. I JUST REALIZED WHAT THE DIFFERENCE WAS. THE 1992 SABLE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES WERE ALL STEEL, NOT A COMBINATION OF STEEL/RUBBER AS IN MY 2000. THE QUALITY HAS BEEN LOWERED TO SAVE MONEY. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NEAR MY REPAIR SHOP WHEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO DIE FROM THE LOSS OF FLUID AND THE SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM THE FLUID ON THE HOT ENGINE AND EXHAUST. A LITTLE EARLIER AND THE CAR COULD HAVE DIED ON ME IN FAST MOVING HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON ON I-684. THE ROTTEN LINES WERE SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED AT A COST APPROACHING $400 FOR PARTS/LABOR. IT TOOK 6-QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID TO REPLACE WHAT WAS BLOWN OUT! *AK
DELIVERY STATUS NOTIFICATION (FAILURE) CONCERNING COMPLAINT AGAINST ROME FORD MERCURY LINCOLN CAR DEALERSHIP. *BF THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SITTING AT THE DEALER WITH A BLOWN HEAD GASKET SINCE JULY 30, 2004. THE CONSUMER WAS CONTACTED BY A REPRESENTATIVE WHO INFORMED HIM THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS IRREPARABLE. *NM
DEFECTIVE ABS SPEED INDICATOR RING. IT IS CRACKED,SLIDES OFF THE AXLE AND CONTACTS THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAUSING FRONT END VIBRATION AND NOISE. THERE ARE NO ABS ERROR MESSAGES OR INDICATORS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IN A PANIC STOP THE THIS WILL CAUSE INCORRECT INFORMATION TO THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM AND CAUSE POOR BRAKING. FORD SERVICE SAYS THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS & WANT TO CHARGE ME $200 TO FIX WHAT I CONSIDER A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.*AK
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH. UPON IMPACT, NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE FROM THE DRIVEWAY TO THE STREET CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE, ON INVESTIGATION BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FRONT COIL SPRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. ALSO, THE STABILIZER BAR BROKE. IF THE CAR HAD MOVED IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A WRECK, AND POSSIBLY IN ROLL OVER. *AK *TS

MALFUNCTIONING OF WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. *MR THIS PROBLEM EVENTUALLY SHORTED OUT THE GEM MODULE. THE SECURITY SYSTEM SHORTED OUT ANOTHER COMPUTER PROCESSOR IN THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS AN INCIDENT WHERE THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED NO START/NO CRANK. *SC THE CONSUMER BELIEVED HIS VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO RECALL 01V258000.
CONSUMER STATED A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE FRONT COILS SPRINGS. DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE CONSUMER DID NOT LIVE IN A COLD PART OF THE COUNTRY. *AK *MR
CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED ABOUT RECALL REPAIRS FOR THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS. DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER. *AK THE VEHICLE WOBBLES IN THE FRONT END. *NM
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE THE VEHICLE BRAKES FAILED WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE HITTING A GUARDRAIL. SINCE THIS FAILURE THE NEW MASTER CYLINDER HAS FAILED AGAIN. *AK *NM
NHTSA RECALL 04V33200 CONCERNING FRONT COIL SPRING. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE.*AK THE CONSUMER WALKED OUTSIDE AND NOTICED HER TIRE WAS FLAT DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE COIL SPRING..*JB
IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE OR INFORMATION THAT MIGHT HELP TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION BELOW, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD CONTACT ME. I STARTED MY 2000 FORD TAURUS WITH 56,000 MILES TO GO TO WORK ON JULY 29TH, AND AS SOON AS I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY, A LOUD EXPLOSION UNDER THE HOOD OCCURRED. IT WAS LIKE A BOMB GOING OFF, THE MOTOR BECAME LOUD AND STARTED REVVING. THE PLASTIC MANIFOLD HAD EXPLODED DUE TO THE PCM (POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE) HAVING THE WRONG FLASH (A SOFTWARE PROBLEM PROGRAMMED AT THE FACTORY). THE PCM CAUSED A BACKFIRE OUT THE TOP OF THE MOTOR. FORD DEALERS WERE SUPPOSE TO CORRECT THIS IN APRIL/ MAY OF 2000 . I PURCHASED MY CAR IN JULY 2000 AFTER THEY WERE ALL SUPPOSE TO BE FIXED. THE FORD DEALER HAS COME DOWN FROM $500 TO $250 TO FIX MY CAR, BUT REFUSES TO TO FIX IT FREE. WE ARE NOW AT A STALEMATE UNLESS I AGREE TO PAY FOR THE MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. AS OF TODAY 8/4/04 THE CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED. I ALSO HAVE DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE. *AK
MY 2000 FORD TAURUS WAS EXPERICING A GRINDING NOISE UPON BRAKING DURING SLOW SPEED STOPS. HAD FORD DEALER CHECK BRAKE COMPONANTS AND THEY FOUND THAT THE ABS SENSING RINGS WERE CRACKED. WHEN ASKED WHY THESES RING WERE CRACKED I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT RAY PRICE FORD IN MT POCONO PA. THAT THIS WAS DO TO" POOR WORMANSHIP".
WHILE PARKING IN REVERSE FRONT COIL SPRING PUNCTURED THE FRONT TIRE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER NOTICED ANTI FREEZE IN DRIVEWAY. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION NOTICED A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK. WHEN THE PART WAS ORDERED THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE PART.*AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL PROCEEDS TO THE FLOOR INTERMITTENTLY.*AK
