WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT WORKING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
FIRST OUR CAR ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED BLINKING. WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED IN TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. WHILE THEY WERE CHECKING OUT THE CAR, THEY FOUND A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE RANGE AND PERFORMANCE AND THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CKT FAULT. THE CAR ALSO SHOWED THAT IT NEEDED A MAJOR SERVICING. TWO MONTHS AFTER THE CAR WAS SERVICED, I WAS HEADING HOME. ON A BUSY HWY, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTS ACTING LIKE IT IS OUT OF GAS. MY GAS HAND SAID THE CAR STILL HAD A 1/4 TANK OF GAS. SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. WELL I MANAGED TO GET TO A GAS STATION AND FOUND OUT THAT I WAS INDEED OUT OF GAS. THE GAS HAND DIDN'T SHOW THAT OF NEITHER DID THE GAS LIGHT COME ON TO TELL ME I WAS RUNNING LOW. AFTER I FILLED UP THE CAR, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. SO I CALLED THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP I TOOK THE CAR TO. I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WAS SOMETHING THEY DID. COME TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY RAN THE CHECK ON THE CAR IT WAS A RECALL THEY HAD FOUND WRONG WITH MY CAR. I MENTIONED EARLIER WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS CALLED IT IS IN THE THIRD SENTENCE. THE REPAIR MAN RAN A CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS A RECALL WITH MY VEHICLE AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS. IN AUG. 2000 FORD MOTOR CO. SENT OUT A SERVICE RECALL BULLETIN TO ALL FORD DEALERS, THAT THERE WAS A EMISSIONS RECALL 00E10 - CERTAIN 2000 MODEL YEAR TAURUS FLEX FUEL VEHICLES- FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACEMENT. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT FIXING THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REFUSED TO DO SO. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS ALREADY DONE BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEMS AND THEY CAN'T GIVE ME THE PROOF THAT IT WAS FIXED. SO IN MY EYES UNTIL I SEE PROOF AND UNTIL MY CAR IS FIXED I DON'T BELIEVE THEM. I DON'T LIKE HAVING TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND WHEN AT ANY MOMENT I MAY RUN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE I FORGOT TO KEEP A CHECK ON MY MILEAGE. SOMETHING I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE SINCE THAT IS WHAT GAS HANDS ARE FOR. I ALSO HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND I BABY SIT ANOTHER WHOM I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO DRIVE AROUND WITH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT SPRING BROKEN AND A PUNCTURED STRUT, RUPTURED TIRE, AND A BROKEN LINK.*MR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SPRING CRACKED PRIOR TO THIS AND WAS REPLACED AT THE CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. THE CONSUMER FOUND A RECALL ON NHTSA SITE WHICH DESCRIBED THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE CONSUMER REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR BOTH FAILURES. *NM
TWICE, STEERING COLUMN HAS LOCKED, REPAIRED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY BEFORE 75,000, REPAIRED AGAIN WHEN LOCKING CLIP FELL OUT. NOW, CLIP IS OUT AGAIN AND VEHICLE CAN BE SHIFTED WITHOUT BRAKING. I AM HAVING IT REPAIRED NEXT WEEK(7/28/04). *LA
CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER BECAUSE IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE GAS METER SHOWED THAT THERE WAS GAS IN THE TANK. HOWEVER, THE TANK WAS EMPTY. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LATER. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND THE MANUFACTURER, WHO SHOWED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED UNDER A RECALL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING FROM THE DRIVEWAY TO THE MAIN ROAD, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE. UPON INVESTIGATION BY AN INDEPENDENT SHOP MECHANIC THE FRONT RIGHT COIL SPRING ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE HAD BROKEN AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. IF THE CAR HAD BEEN MOVING WOULD HAVE WRECKED AND POSSIBLY ROLLED. DEALER NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *LA
2000 FORD TAURUS. VIN [XXX]. THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE IT STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE FRONT END WAS DEMOLISHED, BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NOW BEING REPAIRED. NOT SURE. *AK WHAT FAILED. 48,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT PREVIOUSLY, NOR HAD THE AIRBAGS BEEN WORKED ON. NO PREVIOUS WARNING FROM DASH INDICATORS THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. AS A RESULT, CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND IT LANDED IN A DITCH. NO INJURIES REPORTED. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A CLANKING SOUND WHEN RUNNING OVER A BUMP. CONSUMER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED DRIVER SIDE REAR SPRINGS BROKE. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT HE RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE FRONT SHOCKS, BUT NOT ON THE REAR SHOCKS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE REAR SPRING AND STRUTS WERE REPLACED. *NM
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT. THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT PROPERLY WHEN RELEASE. IT SOME HOW, GET TANGLED AND TWISTED WHEN THE BELT GOES BACK INTO THE RETRACTOR.CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND HAD THE SEAT BELT SERVICED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK......CONSUMER HAD THE REA RSEAT BELTS REPAIRED AT $54.00. CLAIMED THAT DEAKER SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THEM AT NO COST TO CONSUMER. IT WAS BAD FROM THE BEGINNING, AND CONSUMER INSISTED THAT DEALER INIALLY PROMISED TO REPLACE THEM AT NO COST TO CONSUMER. HAS A STATEMENT TO THAT EFFECT. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V332000 (SUSPENSION), BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. AFTER AN OIL CHANGE, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUTS WERE BENT WITH EXTENSIVE CORROSION ON THE SPRING COILS AND STRUTS. THE DEALER FAILED TO INDICATE IF THEY WOULD PROVIDE THE RECALL REPAIR FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THIS VEHICLE HAD BROKEN A SPRING IN THE FRONT. FORD ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS YEAR/MAKE, AND MODEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS ONLY WILLING TO REIMBURSE THE CONSUMER $183.00 OF THE$ 762.98 THAT WAS SPENT BY CONSUMER FOR THE REPAIRS WHICH WERE NEEDED DUE TO DEFECTIVE COIL SPRINGS. *AK SPRING/COIL BROKE ON JULY 14 THE DAY BEFORE THE RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE WAS PUBLISHED. ONE MORNING CAR WAS STARTED AND AN EXPLOSION CAME FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE EXPLOSION RESULTED IN DESTRUCTION OF THE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD AND EGR REGULATOR. CAUSE OF EXPLOSION IS UNKNOWN. *JB
WHILE DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND INFORMED HIM THAT THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. *AK
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES UNEXPECTED STALLING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR CHECKUP TWICE, BUT THE CAUSE IS UNDETERMINED. *NM THE VEHICLE STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE 20 MINUTES LATER. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED IT RAN RUFF. *TC
FRONT COIL SPRINGS HAD BEEN RECALLED, HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *AK......ACCORDING TO ORIGINAL RECALL ALL VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF VIN WERE INCLUDED.*AK
THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS REPAIRED THROUGH A RECALL AND CURRENTLY THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS NOT RELATED. DEALER STATED IT WILL TAKE TWO WEEKS TO RECEIVE THE PART. *AK *NM
WHILE PARKING FRONT DRIVER'S COIL SPRING WAS CUTTING INTO THE TIRES. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK
THE CONSUMERS SON WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 40 MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. SUDDENLY HE LOST THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT REGAINED CONTROL . THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE FRONT COIL SPRING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD BROKEN AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE AND THE BRAKE LINE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *JB *NM
I WAS DRIVING MY 2000 FORD TAURUS DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WITH MY WIFE AND SMALL CHILD, ON OUR WAY TO CHURCH, WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SPRING BROKE AND NEARLY PULLED OUR CAR INTO A GUARD RAIL AND OFF A BRIDGE. THIS HAPPENED SOMETIME IN 2004 AND I CAN STILL REMEMBER THE EXACT LOCATION ON HWY 59. IT'S A DAY I DOUBT I EVER FORGET. I REMEMBER THE MECHANIC TELLING ME A FRONT SPRING SHOULD NEVER FAIL. HE SAID THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS, SO I WAS STUCK WITH THE BILL. I REMEMBER BEING FURIOUS WITH FORD NOT ONLY BECAUSE MY FAMILY NEARLY DIED, BUT BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T OWN UP TO SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. HERE IT IS NEARLY 12 YEARS LATER, AND I FOUND AN INVOICE FROM 2008 FOR NEW STRUTS AND SWAY BARS THAT COST ME NEARLY $1,000. I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT BILL WAS SOMEHOW RELATED TO WHAT HAPPENED WHEN MY SPRING BROKE IN 2004, BUT MAYBE NOT. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS, I FEEL IT IS TIME FOR THE RECALL TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE OTHER FORD OWNERS, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ARE ALL DEALING WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. I HAVE SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT TO FORD 1-800-392-3673 AND I BELIEVE MY NEXT STEP WITH BE THE FTC 1-877-382-4357. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS WRONG THAT NEEDS TO BE MADE RIGHT.
SECOND REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR SAFETY RECALL REPAIRS INVOLVING 2000 TAURUS. *MR THE GEAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK, THE CONSUMER HAD TO PUT A HIGH EFFORT INTO TAKING THE VEHICLE OUT OF REVERSE. THERE WAS A CONCERN WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *SC
I HAVE A 2000 FORD TAURUS WITH ONLY 36000 MILES ON IT. THE FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE, AND CAUSED A FLAT TIRE WHILE DRIVING. MY SERVICE MAN SAID THAT HE SEES A LOT OF THESE TAURUS'S WITH THIS PROBLEM. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM? THIS IS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATING ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *AK
WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE COIL SPRING BROKE. AS A RESULT, THE TIRE EXPLODED, AND THE FRONT END COLLAPSED. *AK *SC *JB
THE RIGHT (PASSENGER) REAR SEAT BELT OF MY 2000 FORD TAURUS RECENTLY FAILED AND IS NO LONGER USABLE. FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THIS SEAT BELT HAS LOCKED IN PLACE AND WILL NEITHER UNWIND OR RETRACT. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE INTERNAL ROTOR THAT REGULATES THE SEAT BELT'S LENGTH HAS GOTTEN STUCK. THE BELT MOVES ABOUT 1/2 INCH BEFORE FIRMLY LOCKING. IT WILL NOT RETRACT FROM THIS POSITION AND I CANNOT GET IT TO RESET AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF TRYING. SINCE I AM JUST PAST A SAFETY WARRANTY OF 50,000 MILES, I AM TOLD A REPAIR JOB TO REPLACE THIS BELT WILL COST AROUND $500.*AK
BOTH FRONT SPRINGS ON VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *MR THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE FRONT TIRE WAS FLAT DUE TO A BROKEN SPRING WHICH HAD PUNCTURED THE TIRE. THIS HAD BEEN A PROBLEM PER MECHANIC. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT. *SC *JB

NO INJURY OR ACCIDENT DUE TO VEHICLE BEING STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF PART FAILURE. DATE OCCURRED 6/14/2004; REPAIR COMPLETED VIA LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT SUSPENSION SPRINGS RECOMMENDED AND COMPLETED AT COST OF $463.96 (PARTS, LABOR, ALIGNMENT). PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.*AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO DRIVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT DUE TO A FRONT COIL SPRING FAILURE. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO DISENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THE CONSUMER HAD TO TURN THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM. THIS OCCURRED TWO DAYS AFTER THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH RECALL 04V106000 REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SINCE RECALL REPAIRS WERE DONE. *AK THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO BECOME VERY CLOSE TO SLOWER MOVING TRAFFIC BEFORE THE CONSUMER REALIZED WHAT OCCURRED. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS ORIGINALLY DONE CARELESSLY. *SC *JB
THE LEFT REAR COIL SPRING ON MY 2000 FORD TAURUS BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE. FAILURE IS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL ON THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS. *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
THE COMPLAINT WAS RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL. IN JUNE OF 2004 I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 40 MPH. NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, BUT FORTUNATELY THE SEAT BELTS DID WORK, QUITE POSSIBLY PREVENTING SERIOUS INJURIES. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER THE ACCIDENT I NOTIFIED FORD CONSUMER SERVICE DIVISION ABOUT THE AIR BAGS, BUT THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE BECAUSE MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAD ALREADY COVERED THE DAMAGES, AND THEY HAVE CURRENT POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. THEY JUST BLEW ME OFF. *AK *SC
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION PASSENGER REAR TIRE SIDEWALL BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE SWERVED AND FISH TAILED AND STRUCK A CEMENT BARRIER NEAR THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGH WAY. THERE WAS NO SERIOUS INJURIES AND THE POLICE DID ARRIVE. P21560R16942. *AK
I DO NOT BELIEVE MY AIR BAGS IN MY 2000 FORD TAURUS DEPLOYED PROPERLY DURING A CAR ACCIDENT. THE ACCIDENT INVOLVED AN INITIAL FRONTAL IMPACT, FOLLOWED BY A LEFT REAR PASSENGER SIDE IMPACT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE FRONTAL IMPACT - THEY DEPLOYED AFTER THE CAR CAME TO A STOP. *AK
WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM MY DRIVEWAY THE FRONT LEFT COIL SPRING BROKE AND SEVERED THE TIRE. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. TOOK ONE WEEK TO REPAIR. IF I WERE DRIVNING AT HIGH SPEED WHEN THE SPRING BROKE I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ENDED UP CRASHING THE CAR. GIVEN THE NUMBER OF PROBLEMS THAT HAVE OCCURRED AND ARE OCCURRING WITH TAURUS COIL SPRINGS, THERE SHOULD BE SOME KIND OF RECALL. IT COSTS ANYWHERE FROM $400-$600 OR MORE TO HAVE A COIL SPRING AND RELATED PARTS REPLACED, PLUS THE TOWING.*AK
HEADLAMP SWITCH BROKEN...AGAIN. I HAVE HAD THIS PART REPLACED 3 TIMES. TWICE WITHIN 12 MONTHS AND REPLACED DURING THE RECALL. NOW IT IS BROKEN AGAIN FOR A 3RD TIME AND FORD HAS TOLD ME THAT SINCE IT WAS REPLACED AND OUTSIDE OF THE 12 MONTHS FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL REPLACEMENT THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT AGAIN. I BELIEVE SOMEONE SHOULD MAKE A BETTER PART. CAN YOU SAY...METAL POST AND PLASTIC KNOB DON'T WORK WELL TOGETHER? SORRY FORD BAD CALL. WHAT A PAIN TO CONTINUALLY REPLACE THIS PART. I WILL BE LOOKING INTO MISSOURI'S 3X YOUR OUT LEMON LAW ISSUE NOW.*AK
WIFE HIT SMALL POTHOLE IN A PARKING LOT. HEARD LOUD NOISE IN FRONT END LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE IN TWO. 2000 TAURUS HAD ONLY 37000 MILES ON IT. DEALER REPLACED BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND BOTH FRONT STRUTS AND HAD TO ALIGNFRONT ALSO ALL AT MY EXPENSE OF $543.61. *AK
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. MY EMISSION CONTROL LIGHT IS BACK ON AGAIN. IT CAME ON BEFORE AND THERE WAS SOME HESITATION WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED SOME PART DEALING WITH THE GAS FILTER. IT IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. IS THIS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH FORD TAURUS?*AK
LEFT FRONT SPRING BROKE, CAUSED TIRE TO BLOW OUT. REPAIR WAS MADE BY FORD DEALER, NEW SPRING INSTALLED. OLD PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH I TRAVEL ON EVERY DAY.*AK

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY DRIVER'S SIDE COIL SPRING SHEARED OFF. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE TO INFLATE, AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED TO THE GROUND. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC REPLACED THE TIRE AND COIL SPRING DUE TO WORN OUT PARTS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD BANG COMING FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE. THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND FOUND THAT THE SPRING HAD BROKE. *LA

THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. HE HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CABLE GEAR WAS BROKEN. *NM
2000 TAURUS SES WITH 58,708 MILES ON IT. I DROVE TO WORK, PUT IN A FULL DAY AND WENT TO GO HOME. CAR WOULD NOT MOVE- FOUND LEFT FRONT TIRE FLAT. WENT TO ADD AIR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. CHECKED TIRE AND FOUND THE COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND PUNCTURED THE INSIDE SIDEWALL. SINCE I AM A LONG TIME FORD DEALER TECHNICIAN AND HAVE DONE MANY SPRING RECALLS ON THE OLDER TAURUSES AND THE CAR HAS SO FEW MILES ON IT I CONTACTED FORD TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPAIR THE CONCERN. THEY WOULD NOT. I THEN WENT TO ORDER A NEW SPRING AND FOUND THE PART ON BACKORDER(PART NOT AVAILABLE I.E FORD HAS RUN OUT). HAVING READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS, ISN'T IT TIME FOR AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DANGEROUS AND I'M SURE SOON TO BE FATAL DEFECT?

WHILE TURNING THE TURN SIGNAL FAILED TO COME ON. THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER DROVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
