I HAVE FILED A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN TEXAS. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED IN SUMMARY. *AK
GAS GAUGE SHOWED AN EIGHTH OF TANK WITH FUEL. HOWEVER, GAS GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD, SHOWING TANK WAS LOW IN GAS. TEN SECONDS LATER, VEHICLE STOPPED. MANUAL INDICATED THAT TANK HELD 16 GALLONS OF FUEL. CONSUMER INDICATED THAT TANK HELD ONLY 14.4 GALLONS OF FUEL. *AK

NOW THE CAR HAS 12,OOO MILES, I HAVE TO WAIT THREE WEEKS TO TAKE IT BACK IN. THIS TIME I HAVE THESE PROBLEMS, THE POWER SUNROOF SWITCH WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO,THE POWER STEERING STARTED TO MAKE NOISE, HAS TO ADD FLUID, AGAIN IT MAKES MORE NOISE,LAST SONG ON CD'S STICK. THIS IS THE ICEING ON THE CAKE TONIGHT I GO TO DINNER,WHEN I COME OUT, I SMELLED GASOLINE WHEN THE CAR STARTED, I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT WAS ANOTHER CAR. WENT TO BBEST BUT, WAS GONE FOR 25 MINUTES, CAME BACK STARTED CAR, AND AGAIN SMELL OF GASOLINE. I MADE A APPOINTMENT TO TAKE CARE IN WAS GIVEN DAATE OF SEPT 6. I WILL CALL THURS. I WILL RAISE CANE. THIS CAR HAS HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS. I BOUGHT IT WITH 6 MILES. VERY DISAPPOINTED

CONSUMER BOUGHT VEHICLE BRAND NEW. VEHICLE STALLED ANYWHERE WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. ALSO, ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED BURNED OUT STARTER. BUT CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING UNDER 40 MPH AND APPLYING OR TAPPING BRAKES, AND THEN REAPPLYING ACCELERATOR, ENGINE WILL BEGIN TO RUMBLE AND CAUSE VIBRATION IN VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE SECONDS, AND THEN SHUTDOWN. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WILL COME ON. THIS ALSO OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IDLING. CONSUMER SOMETIMES WASABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE AFTER THIS EVENT OCCURRED, ,WHILE OTHER TIMES HE WAS FORCED TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND WORKED ON FUEL PUMP ON TWO OCCASIONS, AND FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACED BY A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK
WHEN STARTING VEHICLE WHEN COLD VEHICLE IDLES HIGH AND ROLLS FORWARD WITH DEPRESSING GAS PEDAL . *AK THE VEHICLE HAD SURGING PROBLEM AT START UP SINCE IT WAS NEW. NOW IT ROLLS FORWARD AT STARTR UP IN COLD WEATHER. *YH
WHILE TRAVELING 45-50 MPH ON HIGHWAY VEHICLE STALLED/STOPPED FOR NO APPEARENT REASON. ALL POWER WAS LOST.VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS OCCURED 3 TIMES. *AK
CAMBER/CASTER FAILED CAUSING THE FRONT END TO BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT. NLM
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CONSUMER STATES IT JUST STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND LOST ALL POWER. WAITED ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES VEHICLE RESTARTED. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER COULD NOT FIND CAUSE. *AK
THIS IS A 6-PASSENGER RATED SEDAN. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT DEALER SAYS NOTHING WRONG. LAST WEEK I PUT THE CAR UP ON A HOIST AND MADE A VISUAL INSPECTION MYSELF AND FOUND DEFECTS THAT I BELIEVE WARRANT A RECALL. I TOOK ABOUT 35 PHOTOS AND CAN MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO YOU. THE PROBLEM: WHENEVER I HAVE ONE OR TWO PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT, THE REAR SUSPENSION MAKE CLUNKING NOISES. DURING MY INSPECTION, I FOUND THAT THE TORSION BAR IS TOO WEAK AND ALLOWS A THE CAR TO BOTTOM OUT WITH A FRAME CROSSMEMBER HITTING THE TORSION BAR. THIS HAPPENS ON BOTH TORSION BARS. THESE ARE PARTS THAT ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HIT EACH OTHER (NO RUBBER BUMP PADS). IN FACT, IF I WERE NOT SO CAREFUL, THIS BOTTOMING OUT COULD BREAK THE TORSION BAR A CAUSE THE CAR TO LOSE CONTROL. IN ADDITION, THERE IS EVIDENCE OF THE TAILPIPE RUBBING AGAINST THE LEFT TORSION BAR WHICH COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK UNDER THE CABIN. ALSO, THERE IS A BRAKE LINE THAT IS BEING RUBBED AND WORN BECAUSE IT IS WEDGED AGAINST THE LEFT TORSION BAR AND WILL EVENTUALLY WEAR THROUGH. I FEEL THAT ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS SHOULD BE CORRECTED AT NO COST TO ME BY THE DEALER. THE WEAK TORSION BARS THAT ALLOW THE CAR TO BOTTOM OUT MAY NEED A RECALL TO REPLACE WITH STRONGER ONES. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A FAMILY CAR AND REGULARLY PUT PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON YOUR RECALL LIST ALREADY. I CAN SEND YOU PHOTOS AND/OR TAKE MY CAR TO AN NHTSA INSPECTION SITE FOR VERIFICATION OF THESE PROBLEMS.*AK
I HAVE HAD THIS PART ON ORDER SINCE APRIL 2000. IT IS BECOMING A SAFETY HAZARD NOT BEEING ABLE TO SEE OUT OF MY REAR WINDOW WHILE DRIVING IN THE ENDLESS THUNDERSTORMS THE EAST COAST HAS RECENTLY BEEN EXPERIENCING.
HEADREST IN REAR OF VEHICLE ARE TOO TALL. IT'S BLOCKING VISIBILITY ON BOTH SIDES OF VEHICLE.*AK
FUEL PUMP AND FUEL RELATED INCIDENCES THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. OIL GASKET PROBLEMS, VARIOUS OTHER IDIOSYNCRASIES.*JB
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING 35MPH AND VEHICLE GEARED DOWN AND THEN TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. HAD TURNED INTO HIGHWAY, AND HIT THE MEDIAN. HAD CONTACTED A TOW COMPANY, AND VEHICLE WAS TOWED. TOW DRIVER INDICATED TRANSMISSION WAS ON GROUND AND WOULD NEED TO REPLACE IT. CONSUMER FEELS THAT DEALER SHOULD REPLACE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. PROBLEM HAS DUPLICATED. *AK *TT
VEHICLE PARKED INSIDE OF GARAGE CONSUMER WAS BACKING OUT, AND NOTICED THAT AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL HE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. SO THAT MECHANIC COULD SET THE CODES. *AK THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED FIVE TIMES FOR AIR BAG PROBLEM. TWICE AIR BAG SENSORS WERE REPLCACED. THE CONSUMER FEELS THE DEFECT WAS SUBSTANTIAL IMPAIRMENT TO USE AND SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. *YH
THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR THE HOOD WAS UP AND SALESMAN SAID THEY CHECKED UNDER HOOD AND EVERYTHING WAS OK AND SHUT IT. I DROVE DIRECTLY TO MY INSURANCE ADGENT TO UPDATE MY POLICY AND IT WAS UP AGAIN. I CALLED DEALER AND HE SAID TO BRING CAR IN. HE COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN OTHER CARS WAVED ME OVER AS THE HOOD WAS UP AND I HAD TO PULL INTO REST AREAS TO PUT IT DOWN. I HAVE COMPLAINED EACH TIME I HAD SERVICE AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE LATCH BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. I AM AFRAID IF THAT LITTLE PLASTIC CATCH GIVES WAY THE HOOD WILL FLY ALL THE WAY UP AND I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I AM UPSET AS I FEEL THIS IS NOT A SMALL MATTER BUT A SAFETY HAZARD.*AK

RECALL ON 2000 FORD TAURUS SE FOR FAULTY COIL SPRINGS WHICH DIDN'T WORK SO HAD TO HAVE MORE WORK DONE WHICH COST $399 AND CUSTOMER WANTS FORD TO REIMBURSE HIM**NAR**CC THE CONSUMER STATED ALL THE DEALER DID WAS PUT SHIELDS OVER THE SPRINGS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE SPRINGS. *JB
2000 TAURUS RECALL - FRONT COIL SPRING SHIELDS FOR VEHICLES IN CORROSION STATES CUSTOMER IS REQUESTING TO BE TAKEN OFF MAILING LIST**CC THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE SHIELDS WERE NOT NECESSARY, BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT LIVE IN A STATE WHERE THE RECALL APPLIES. *JB

2000 FORD TAURUS WILL CREEP WHILE STOPPED. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WILL DO THAT AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AND THERE IS NOT A RECALL. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THAT IS TRUE. *KB
2000 FORD TAURUS BROKEN REAR COIL SPRING. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE REAR COIL SPRING. *KB THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE COIL SPRING HAD TO BE DEFECTIVE DURING MANUFACTURING FROM INADEQUATE HEAT TREATING PROCESSING. *JB

THE TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT HOLD IN THE DESIRED DIRECTION WHILE THE CONSUMER IS TURNING, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WHEELS MUST BE STRAIGHT, AS SOON AS THE DIRECTION OF THE WHEELS HAS CHANGED, THE SIGNAL IS CANCELLED. *SLC

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. ENGINE WAS GETTING NO GAS FLOW, THIS WAS DUE TO A BAD FUEL PUMP. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
UPON ENTERING INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL POWER. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER HAS REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND FUEL LINE. *AK
INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR LOCATION CAUSES A "BLIND SPOT" FOR THE DRIVER. MIRROR IS TOO LOW ON WINDSHIELD. FORD/DEALER SAY THAT REPOSITIONING MIRROR ON WINDSHIELD WOULD PROBABLY CRACK THE WINDSHIELD. *AK *ML
CONSUMER HAS A FLEET OF THESE VEHICLES. OUT OF THE FLEET 15 VEHICLE FUEL PUMPS MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH CAUSED VEHICLES TO UNEXPECTEDLY CUT OFF. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER HAS REPLACED 9 OUT OF THE 15 FAULTY FUEL PUMPS. PARTS CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER. VEHICLE USED BY GOVERNMENT WORKERS. *AK *ML

ADJUSTABLE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL LOOSE, ADJUSTMENT HAVE ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS, LOCATED TO CLOSE TOGETHER, NEED TO BE REDESIGN

WHEN DRIVING BETWWEN 45 MPH-65 MPH STEERING WILL VIBRATE/ IT WILL SHAKE. ALSO, VIBRATION CAN BE FELT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. DEALER CLAIMED DEFECT WAS DUE TO TIRE PROBLEM. BUT, DEALER HAS BALANCED TIRES 4 TIMES, AND REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES, AND VIBRATION STILL OCCURS. IN ADDITION, BRAKE LIGHT HAS BECOME STUCK AND WILL NOT TURN OFF.*AK

AIRBAG HAD STARTED TO COME THROUGH THE CENTER AND EDGE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE STEERING WHEEL ONCE, AND THE PROBLE HAS REOCCURRED IN THE REPLACEMENT STEERING WHEEL. *AK
I HAVE A STARTING PROBLEM. SOMETIMES THE CAR STARTS RIGHT AWAY, WHILE OTHER TIMES THE CAR STARTS THEN STALL'S. I HAVE TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND IT TAKES 5 TO 6 REVOLUTIONS TO GET THE CAR GOING. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL DEALERS AND AT FIRST I WAS TOLD I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO START THE CAR. SO I VIDEO TAPED THE CAR THEN SHOWED THEM THE PROBLEM. NOW I FIND OUT THAT OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AND FORD KNOW'S ABOUT THIS BUT I CAN'T GET AN OFFICAL WORD ON THIS. MY QUESTION IS THIS, WHY DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE THIS, JUST TELL US THAT A PROBLEM IS EVIDENT AND THEY ARE WORKING ON IT. NOW MY DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG GOES ON WHEN I AM DRIVEING MY CAR THEN GOES OFF.
