While driving on the hwy my moonroof exploded. Which cldve caused a accident due to the shock and fear it caused from the very loud gunshot like sound when exploding out of no where..for reason that was done by myself..

Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Communications Number: 10B14, however the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The diagnostic test determined that the brake module was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed that parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
5 April 2022 my 2010 Taurus SEL 3.5L engine overheated unexpectedly and the temp warning light came on my way home. I let it cool down during a heavy rain before heading home. I left the vehicle at a gas station for a couple of hours and return to bring it home (3 miles). Temp gage remain steady (3 miles) until it was parked on my driveway. The next day, I conducted an assessment to the cooling system. Reservoir was completely empty and my oil deep stick level was higher than normal 1 inch above max range. It showed coolant contamination. I read several reports about a flaw with the internal water pump design. If indeed is a flaw design or pump manufacture defect, why Ford Motor Company hasn't fix the issue or provided a solution to alleviate this flaw? Now I have to incur on major engine repairs or replacement, in which I am not sure if it is cost effective. Current mileage 171,424

WITH THE CAR ON WHEN STOPPING THE BRAKES ARE FADING. WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES THEY GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM SLOWLY.
2010 FORD TAURUS SHO. POWER STEERING FAILURE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. VERY DANGEROUS. DISPLAY SAYS SERVIVE POWER STEERING NOW. ALL OTHER MODELS AFTER 2010 HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, VERY EXPENSIVE, AND VERY DISAPPOINTING!
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE- THIS COULD LEAD TO A WRECK CAUSING DEATH. VERY UNSAFE WITH HOW QUICKLY THIS APPEARS. GOING 60- 70 MPH DOWN A CURVY HIGHWAY AND THIS KICKS ON LOSING THE ABILITY TO STEER YOUR VEHICLE! ALL IT DOES IS DING AND A MESSAGE APPEARS TELLING YOU THAT THERE WAS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE!!! ONLY HAVE ESTIMATES TO FIX THIS SO FAR AND LOOKING AT $3000. HAD IT TOWED BACK HOME FROM ANOTHER TOWN WHICH WAS $100.

THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND UNPLUGGED THE BATTERY FOR THE COMPUTER SYSTEM TO RESET HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. MTN VIEW FORD (301 E 20TH ST, CHATTANOOGA, TN 37408, (423) 756-1331) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE STEERING COLUMN, AND RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.

THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

A POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS MADE. PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE WAS CONTACTED, CAME OUT AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,000.
THE VEHICLE STEERING SEIZED UP AND THE VEHICLE BECOMES UNSAFE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH TO START BUTTON WAS ACTIVATED, THE POWER STEERING FUNCTION WAS INOPERABLE WITH THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AN AUDIBLE CHIME WAS ALSO HEARD. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. MIKE BURKART FORD LOCATED AT (3110 COUNTY HWY PP, PLYMOUTH, WI 53073, (920)893-6961), WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
FOLLOWING A WARM START, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED WHEN LEAVING A PARALLEL PARKING SPACE AT RELAXED SPEED. "POWER STEERING FAULT" WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. THE VEHICLE REQUIRES INCREDIBLE EFFORT TO MANEUVER AT THIS POINT. TURNING THE VEHICLE IS EXHAUSTING WORK AND IT IS FORTUNATE THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALL FUSES ARE INTACT--THERE IS NO APPARENT REASON FOR THIS TO OCCUR.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT A SLOW SPEED, THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. THERE WAS A FAULT INDICATION ON THE DASH BOARD. FORTUNATELY I WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET DRIVING AT LESS THEN 10 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER WITH THE THE POWER STEERING FAULT. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A SAFE STOP. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT. THE FAULT CLEARED AND THE POWER STEERING WAS FUNCTIONING AGAIN. I TOOK MY CAR INTO MY MECHANIC FOR INVESTIGATION IMMEDIATELY. THIS 2010 FORD TAURUS SHO HAS ONLY 105000 MILES ON IT. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE HAD IT HAPPENED AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I SEE THAT THE 2011-2014 FORD TAURUS' HAD A RECALL FOR THIS SAME POWER STEERING ISSUE.
ON A ROAD TRIP, WE STOPPED AT A REST STOP. WHEN WE WENT BACK TO THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT, WITHIN SECONDS THE POWER STEERING FAULT ALERT WAS PRESENTED, AND POWER STEERING WAS GONE. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE AROUND THE PARKING LOT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND WE REALIZED WE COULD NOT MAKE THE 80 MILE DRIVE HOME. THIS RESULTED IN A $500 TOW THAT WHEN WE DROPPED THE CAR THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING FINE AND THE ALERT WAS GONE. A PROBLEMATIC RACK HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A TRUSTED MECHANIC WITH AN EXPECTED BILL OF OVER $2000 FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. SEEMS EXACTLY LIKE THE RECALL FOR THE 2011-2013 MODELS AND CLEAR NEGLIGENCE ON FORD'S PART AND NHTSA FOR NOT INCLUDING ALL MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEMATIC PART.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE OTHER FORD'S THAT WAS RECALLED CAN'T UNDER STAND WHY MINE 2010 WASN'T RECALLED BUT IF I HAVE A WRECK I'M SUING FORD IN THE NHTSA I PROMISE.
ON AUGUST 21, 2019 I STARTED MY 2010 FORD TAURUS SHO AND PROCEEDED TO PULL OUT INTO THE STREET AND FOUND THAT I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED VEHICLE TO FIND THAT AN ALARM OR BEEPING SOUNDED AND ON THE CLUSTER MESSAGE BOARD A FAULT READ "POWER ASSIST STEERING FAULT" AND WAS AGAIN BARELY WITH BOTH HANDS FORCEFULLY ABLE TURN STEERING WHEEL EITHER WAY LEFT TO RIGHT. I WAS ONLY TWO BLOCKS LUCKILY FROM MY HOME AND MAN HANDLED THE STEERING TO MY GARAGE. AFTER A QUICK SEARCH I SEE THAT FORD ALONG WITH THE NHTSA FAILED TO INCLUDE FORD MODELS FROM 2008-2010 IN A RECALL FOR FAILING ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLIES THAT WAS ISSUED FOR 2011 AND UP MODELS. THESE PRE 2011 MODELS CONTAIN THE SAME EXACT PARTS AS WHAT IS IN THIS RECALL. THE PARTS COST IS NEARLY $1100 AND UPWARDS OF $1000 FOR LABOR. THIS NEGLIGENCE BY BOTH PARTIES HAS RAISED THE INJURY OR DEATH FACTOR TEN FOLD FOR EVERY ECOBOOST OWNER ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE POPULATION AS THESE CARS ARE GETTING OLDER OUT ON OUR STREETS. IF THIS FAULT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED THE PREVIOUS DAY AS I TRAVELED FOR OVER 3 HOURS ON THE INTERSTATE OR MAKING MY WAY AROUND A CURVE OR ANY TURN I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TYPE THIS COMPLAINT. JUST GOOGLE THIS DEFECT AND TO NO SURPRISE I'M NOT THE ONLY VICTIM OF THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. MANY HAVE HAD ACCIDENTS RELATED TO THIS SUDDEN PART FAILURE OR NEAR MISSED. MANY VICTIMS HAVE TRIED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH FORD AND THE NHTSA TO RECEIVE NO ASSISTANCE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. WHY IS THAT. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT GOING TO DISAPPEAR BUT ONLY GET WORSE AS THE CONTROL MODULE MOUNTED ON THE RACK AND PINION IS SUBJECTED TO EXTREME HEAT FROM THE TURBOS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS THAT WAS ENGINEERED DUE TO A LACK OF SPACE INSIDE THE ENGINE BAY AREA AND WERE MOUNTED WITH IN 3 INCHES AWAY FROM THIS ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION COMPONENT. HELP!!!
POWER STEERING GAVE OUT SAME PROBLEMS AS OTHER MODELS FORD HAD RECALL ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING ABILITY AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING" APPEARED ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE SCREEN ON THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR, BUT THAT MESSAGE WOULD NOT CLEAR AND THE WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN. THANKFULLY, I WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED SINCE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD TAURUS SHO 2010 MODELS. AS MANY OF 2011 FORD MODELS HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE WAS A HUGE RECALL DUE TO THE SAME POWER STEERING FAULT ASSIST PROBLEM. THE 2010 MODEL IS USING THE SAME PARTS AS 2011 MODEL BUT THE 2010 MODELS IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE RECALL. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THIS ISSUE ONLY TO GET MY CONVERSATION DISCONNECTED MIDWAY BY THE REPRESENTATIVE. I CALLED AGAIN TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION BUT AGAIN I GOT DISCONNECTED RUDELY. THIS IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I HAVE BEEN A FORD CUSTOMER FOR YEARS. THERE WAS NO FORM OF COMPENSATION FROM FORD AND IT COST ME 2200 USD TO GET IT FIXED OUT OF POCKET.
THE RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM REAR BUSHING HAS WORN OUT. THE CAR HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT. I DON'T THINK IT SHOULD WEAR OUT WITH THAT FEW MILES ON IT.
MY 2010 FORD TAURUS FRONT DRIVER DOOR FIRST FELT LIKE THE DOOR HANDLE WAS SPRUNG. IT DID THAT FOR A WEEK OR TWO. THEN NEXT THING I KNOW I CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE HANDLE ON THE INSIDE OF A DOOR! I HAVE TO LOWER WINDOW, UNLOCK THE CAR, OPEN HANDLE FROM OUTSIDE. THEN RAISE DRIVERS WINDOW, GET OUT OF CAR AND THEN LOCK THE DOOR. THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE I'M GOING THROUGH ACTIVE BREAST CANCER TREATMENT AND HAVING TO BEND MY ARM LIKE THAT.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER STEERING. THE RECALL FOR THIS WAS FOR MODELS 2011 AND UP. THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS WITH THE 2010.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME AND THEN TAKEN TO MAC HAIK FORD LINCOLN (4506 N NAVARRO ST, VICTORIA, TX 77904, (361) 541-6412) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT NEEDED A NEW POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY AND RACK AND PINION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,338.
RECALL 15S02. PURCHASED USED TAURUS AND DISCOVERED LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH LOSE. FOUND OUT THAT RECALLED WAS PERFORMED ON 1/27/16 THOUGH DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THIS HANDLE WAS FIXED. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING - DESPITE THEIR FAILURE TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. THE HANDLE EXHIBITS EVERYTHING THAT WAS BASIS OF RECALL. THE HANDLE RETURN SPRING IS UNSEATED AND SITTING ON ITS SIDE, SPRING RETAINER WALL IS LISSING/BROKEN OUT, ETC. FORMER OWNER WAS ELDERLY MAN WHO SAID REAR SEAT NEVER USED SO BROKEN HANDLE IS NOT DUE TO OVER USE. IN MY OPINION, THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED THE RECALL WORK ON 1/27/16 OVERLOOKED OR FAILED TO ADDRESS THE LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE - THOUGH FORD IS USING THAT ABSOLVE THEMSELVES OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES OR OBLIGATION TO REMEDY. WE NOW HAVE VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE THAT POP OPEN AND INJURE PASSENGER. FORD PROVIDED CASE NUMBER CAS-17185195 FOR CONVERSATION I HAD WITH THEIR "CUTOMER SERVICE" REPRESENTATIVE ON 2/19/19.
MOON ROOF WILL NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY. FRONT SPRING LOADED CLOSE OUT SEAL ON CAR AS PART OF TRACK OF MOON ROOF NOT LETTING MOON ROOF GO DOWN. HELD SEAL DOWN MANUALLY, STARTED MOON ROOF FORWARD WITH FORWARD MOON ROOF SWITCH AND MOON ROOF WORKS PERFECT JUST SO YOU KNOW TO LOOK FOR BINDING OR OBSTRUCTION IF ROOF WILL NOT CLOSE. NOT IN THE BOOK

HOWEVER, I HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AND AFTER CONTACTING FORD OF THE ISSUES WITH MY 2010, I WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE PARTS AND MECHANICS OF MY STEERING ARE THE SAME WITH THE LATER MODELS, MY VEHICLE IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION IS DEFECTIVE HOWEVER, THEY ARE ONLY GOING BACK TO THE 2011 PRODUCTION MODELS. DOES THEIR PROFIT AND CONCERN FOR VEHICLE SAFETY OUT WEIGH THE FACT I STRUGGLE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IN THIS UNSAFE CONDITION?
THE FORD TAURUS SHO 2010 MODEL HAS THE EXACT SAME PART FOR THE STEERING AS THE 2011-2015 MODEL THAT WAS RECALLED. FORD DID NOT INCLUDE THIS MODEL WITH THE RECALL AND IT SUFFERS THE SAME PROBLEM, SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING WITH NO WARNING. MY CAR LOST STEERING WHEN DRIVING BUT DID NOT CAUSE ME TO WRECK. THIS CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH A RED LIGHT ON A STATE ROUTE, I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. ENGINE SOUNDED CHOKED. VEHICLE THEN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TRAVELING UP HILL. FORCING ME TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. AFTER BEING TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, WAS ADVISED THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACED. DEALERSHIP SERVICE STATED THE WATER PUMP FAILED RELEASING COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE, DAMAGING THE ENGINE PERMANENTLY. TRAVELING THIS ROADWAY IS USUALLY A SEMI ROUTE TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND FACTORIES. SEMIS DO NOT SLOW DOWN OR STOP AS QUICKLY AS A CAR AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT DO TO THE ABRUPT PULL OVER THAT WAS NECESSARY DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION.
THE POWER STEERING FAILS AND RETURNS TO MANUAL STEERING. "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED. TURNING THE CAR ON/OFF WILL SOMETIMES FIX ISSUE BUT IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO STEER
POWER STEERING ACCESS FAULT CODE DISPLAYS ON GAUGE CLUSTER AND STEERING WHEEL HAS NO POWER STEERING. VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND DANGEROUS. A RECALL FOR 2011 AND UP TAURUS WAS ISSUED BUT NOT THE 2010 WHICH HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR IS UNDRIVABLE AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS WAY. THIS HAPPENS ON START UP AND STAYS THIS WAY IN EVERY GEAR, NO POWER STEERING AVAILABLE.
