TAKATA RECALLI AM THE OWNER OF A 2013 FORD TAURUS THAT I BOUGHT IN 2016. IT WAS A 1 OWNER NO ACCIDENTS AND 36000 MILES ON IT. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF ANY RECALLS BY FORD OR THE DEALERSHIP. YOUR WEBSITE SAYS IT WAS FIXED SO I CANNOT SEE WHAT RECALL OUT OF THE EIGHT IT HAS. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING DOING MAYBE 15MPH AROUND A RIGHT HAND TURN, WHEN MY PASSENGER SIDE TIRE ALMOST FELL OFF FROM BEING DISCONNECTED AT THE HALF SHAFT AND LINK SHAFT. MY TRACTION STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST CALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I ENDED UP HITTING A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD MINIMAL COSMETIC DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. BUT DUE TO ALL OF THE POWERTRAIN WORK NEEDING TO BE DONE FROM THIS THE BILL WAS OVER 5000$. I HAD TO CLAIM IT ON INSURANCE AND NOW I'VE BEEN PAYING 5000$ A YEAR OR INSURANCE ON A CAR WORTH MAYBE 8000. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE RECALLS UNTIL RECENTLY AND I AM UPSET I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BECAUSE IF I WAS DOING THE SPEED LIMIT AT 55. I WOULD BE DEAD. THIS IS A HIDE SAFETY CONCERN OF MINE. I STILL HAVE THE REPAIR BILLS AND FOR HITTING A STOPLIGHT AT ROUGHLY 5MPH COULD NOT HAVE CAUSE THAT MUCH DAMAGE.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN THE ENGINE TEMP WARNING ACTIVATED. I CONTINUED ON TO WORK, WHICH WAS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY, AND PARKED. I NOTICED STEAM COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I POPPED THE HOOD AND SAW COOLANT POURING FROM SOMEPLACE UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP, AND IT WAS INITIALLY DIAGNOSED AS A MISSING FREEZE PLUG. FURTHER INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED. NO LEAKS HAD BEEN NOTED DURING PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE AND ALL FLUIDS WERE TOPPED OFF. NO FREEZING TEMPERATURES HAD OCCURRED IN THE DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE IS BEING TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP THAT DEALS WITH MAJOR REPAIRS. WARRANTY COMPANY WAS CONTACTED FOR GUIDANCE AND I WAS INFORMED BY THEM THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS IF THE CRACKS WERE CAUSED BY FREEZING OR OVERHEATING. INSPECTION BY WARRANTY COMPANY PENDING, BUT I HAVE THE FEELING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO WORM THEIR WAY OUT OF COVERING THIS, EVEN TOUGH IT'S THE TOP OF THE LINE WARRANTY AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE "BUMPER TO BUMPER" AND "WORRY-FREE" COVERAGE. I WAS LUCKY THIS HAPPENED TO WHILE I WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A FAMILIAR PLACE TO PARK (MY WORKPLACE). THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY JUST BEFORE EXITING TO A CITY STREET, LESS THAN A MILE FROM MY WORKPLACE. IT HAS NOW BEEN CLOSE TO TWO WEEKS THE THE CAR IS STILL DOWN AND IN NEED OF A REPLACEMENT ENGINE. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. NO PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH THE CAR AT ALL, IT RAN PERFECTLY UP UNTIL THIS ISSUE. FAIR WARNING TO THOSE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE AND LOOKING TO BY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST.
THE FUEL PUMP MODULE FAILED IN MY VEHICLE. UPON RESEARCH PUBLISHED REPORTS STATE THAT OVER 465,000 FORD VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR WERE RECALLED FOR THIS AND REPLACED WITH ALMOST 80,000 OF THEM BEING THE TAURUS MODEL. I BELIEVE THIS PART SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AT 44,000 MILES AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. *TT *AS
THE POWER STEERING IS FAILING THE CAR ONLY HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY ON TURNS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. MORE EFFORT WAS REQUIRED TO STEER THE VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE VEHICLE OWNER'S RESIDENCE AND WAS THEN TOWED TO ALL AMERICAN FORD OF PARAMUS (375 NJ-17, PARAMUS, NJ) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
WHY THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THE VEHICLE TENTS TO SPUTTER AND DECELERATE LOSING ALL POWER THE VEHICLE THEN COMES TO COMPLETE STOP IN THE MOVIE LINE OF TRAFFIC YOU HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON TO ACTUALLY GET SPEED TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY THIS HAS BECOME A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IN THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 50 TO 65 MILES PER HOUR THE VEHICLES COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MOVIE LINE OF TRAFFIC
THE STEERING IS SUDDENLY VERY "LOOSE". IT WAS FINE ONE DAY AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE NEXT DAY. THE CAR JUST TURNED 60,000 MILES AND WE HAVE OWNED IT FOR 7 MONTHS. I AM VERY UPSET AND BUMMED THAT FORD WON'T FIX IT SINCE IT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, I WANT TO DOCUMENT THIS, SINCE I DRIVE KIDS TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY DOWN SOME ROADS THAT HAVE LOTS OF CURVES AND TREE'S. IF WE CRASH, FORD WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS, I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY WILL LET THESE CARS WANDER DOWN THE ROAD KNOWING IT'S A TICKING TIME BOMB. SO SAD FORD..

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL POWER ASSIST SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 73MPH ON A STRAIGHT HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. ALMOST CAUSED AN INCIDENT WITH A SEMI THAT WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME. THE CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP AND NO WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS TURNED OUT TO WARN OF THE FAILURE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP FIXED THE PROBLEM AND IT TURNED OUT THE BE A FAULTY FUEL CONTROL MODULE. MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL 16V621000. I HAVE THE TAURUS WITH THE LIMITED TRIM AND A 3.5L V6.
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT OF A RESTAURANT. I WAS IN THE VEHICLE TRYING TO OPEN RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR FOR ONE OCCUPANT TO ENTER VEHICLE (AS THEY WERE HOLDING FOOD IN BOTH OF THEIR HANDS) AND THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH CAME LOOSE. NOW THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH IS LOOSE AND CAN BE OPENED BY A VERY LIGHT PULL ON KNOB. SPRING SEEM TO BE OUT OF PLACE.
HAVE HAD RATTLING NOISE IN FRONT END SINCE ABOUT 53000 MILES. WENT THRU REPLACING ENTIRE SUSPENSION AND STILL NO BETTER. FINALLY IT WAS FOUND THAT ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION SHAFTS THAT CONNECT TO INNER TIE RODS ON BOTH SIDES ARE LOOSE AND DAMAGED INTERNALLY. CAR IS UNSTABLE IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, AND THE "CHECK FUEL PUMP MODULE CIRCUIT" CODE APPEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
MANY MODELS AND YEARS OF THE FORD TAURUS HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING. MY CAR IS A 2013 FORD TAURUS AND SOME "BATCHES" OF THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR HAVE HAD THE RECALL. MINE IS NOT INCLUDED, HOWEVER, TWICE IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS, THE POWER STEERING HAS FAILED ON ME. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE FIX IS A NEW RACK AND PINION PIECE WHICH COSTS $900 FROM FORD.
ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 08, 2017, I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK. WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE, MY FORD TAURUS POLICE INTERCEPTOR 2013 DIE ON ME. WITH NO WARNINGS THE ENGINE JUST TURNED OFF. JUST AS I WAS APROCHING A LIGHT AT A BUSY INTERCEPTION. I TRIED TO TURN IT UP AGAIN AND IT TURNED ON AND DROVE IT FOR 1/2 A MILE. I DROVE IT INSIDE A PARKING LOT OF AN ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. THEY RUN A DYNASTIC BECAUSE, THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. AND THE ONLY CODE THEY FOUND WAS THIS: P0627 - FUEL PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN. IT SHUT OFF AGAIN AS I PULL OFF IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE AUTO PARTS PLACE. I TRIED TO TURN IT ON AGAIN BUT ONLY CRANKS AND WON'T START ON AGAIN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO START. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE CONTACT NOTICED A BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE 02 SENSORS FAILED AND THE FUEL PUMP HAD A LEAK. BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
TAKATA RECALL 2013 FORD TAURUS... IT'S ONLY FEBRUARY OF 2017 AND I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM THREE DIFFERENT TIMES THIS YEAR ALONE. THE CAR STARTS VERY VERY ROUGH. HALF OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T START. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON ME WHILE IN MOTION GOING DOWN CITY STREETS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE THIS YEAR TO REPAIR/FIND THE PROBLEM. STILL NO RESULTS. EVEN WHEN THE CAR DOES START I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT WILL AND HAS STALLED ON ME IN TRAFFIC. AUTOMOTIVE SHOP TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY. I PAID TO HAVE THAT REPLACED. NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER, ONLY SIX DAYS LATER THE CAR STALLS AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP WHERE THEY GOT IT RUNNING AGAIN FOR FREE. BUT ONLY TEMPORARILY. COUPLE WEEKS LATER AT THE MOST AND I'M RIGHT BACK TO WHERE I STARTED. CAR WILL NOT START. IF IT DOES START IT WILL STALL IMMEDIATELY ONCE I AM IN MOTION. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT NOT BEING ON THE ROAD. THIS IS SAFETY HAZARD. I CANNOT COMFORTABLY DRIVE MY CAR TO AND FROM WORK WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT IT STALLING AND GETTING REAR-ENDED. IT WILL NOT BE A GOOD DAY WHEN THIS CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIE ROD SEPARATED AT MODERATE SPEED RESULTING IN TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL AND NEAR CRASH (FISH TAILED UNTIL CAR STOPPED). FORD DEALER INSPECTED AND FOUND DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIE ROD BROKEN AT BALL AND SOCKET. FORD DEALER ALSO FOUND PASSENGER SIDE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM LOOSE. FORD DEALER ALSO FOUND LEAKING PASSENGER SIDE, REAR SHOCK; ALL BEFORE 90K MILES.
WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE, I LOST THE POWER STEERING AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, A RED WARNING MESSAGE TO SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW CAME ON, AT THE SAME TIME TURN SIGNAL WOULD NOT WORK AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME. SINCE IT WAS THE WEEKEND AND I WAS DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS I STILL DROVE THE CAR HOME. I NOW HAVE THE CAR AT DEALERSHIP, AND BEING TOLD NO RECALL ON THIS CAR. BUT THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHERS FOR SAME ISSUE. I DON'T HAVE THE COST YET BUT TRIED TO CALL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE CLOSE FOR THE HOLIDAY. WAIT TO SEE WHAT'S NEXT. CAR STALLS AT RED LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS. EVEN WHEN PUT IN PARK AT A STOP. CAR WILL RESTART. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. NO WARNING.
ON 5/31/2013 I PURCHASED A NEW 2013 FORD TAURUS SHO. TODAY, THE CAR HAS ABOUT 73,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO I BEGAN SMELLING A HOT SMELL, LIKE PLASTIC OR SULFUR, BUT COULD NOT PIN POINT IT. I WAS CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WAS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE BECAUSE IT JUST DIDN'T SMELL RIGHT, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. I ONLY SMELLED IT AFTER THE CAR GOT WARMED UP AND WAS STATIONARY OR MOVING SLOW IN TOWN. AFTER I ACCELERATED THE SMELL WOULD GO AWAY, BUT WOULD COME BACK WHEN I SLOWED DOWN AND STOPPED. THEN I BEGAN TO NOTICE A COUPLE DROPS OF FLUID UNDERNEATH MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME I PROBABLY HAD SOME OIL ON THE ENGINE, WHICH WOULD GO AWAY WITH TIME. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND NEW TIRES PUT ON AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK A COUPLE ERROR CODES I HAD GOTTEN. THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS TOLD ME MY CAR WAS FINE AND I COULD DRIVE IT, INCLUDING TO CHICAGO FOR CHRISTMAS. THE SMELL PROBLEM CONTINUED AND THE LEAK PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE, SO I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK AGAIN. THEY NOW TELL ME THAT THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT HAS FAILED AND THE CAR HAS A TURBO DOWN PIPE LEAK. TO REPAIR, IT WILL COST ME OVER $2,000.00. I CONTACTED FORD TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP ME. THEY TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS CAR WOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY AS OF MAY 31, 2017 AND THE POWERTRAIN SHOULD NOT FAIL AT 73,000 MILES, MOST OF WHICH WERE HIGHWAY MILES. FORD STILL WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. IN SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON. THEY'VE HAD 5 OTHER PTUS FAIL IN ABOUT SIX MONTHS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STRUCK THE CURB AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST VOLT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE PART OF THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO HAVE THE REPAIRS PERFORMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA, HE COULD FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT IF A RECALL WERE ISSUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL NUMBER 16V621000. PARTS WERE INEXPENSIVE, LABOR WAS NOT.

I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE CAR SCANNED. THE SERVICE TECH SAID THE CAR HAD A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY VALVE FAILURE CODE. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE COMPANY THAT FORD HAS A PROBLEM INVOLVING THE THROTTLE BODY VALVES. SO I CALLED FORD AFTER READING ABOUT ALL THE FAILURES THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD WITH VARIOUS MODELS OF FORDS. THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ISSUES THEY ARE HAVING DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT YOUR AGENCY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ISSUING A PRODUCT RECALL AND UNTIL YOUR AGENCY DOES SO WE WILL NEED TO INCUR THE 400.00 TO 600 DOLLAR REPAIR COSTS. I RESPECTIVELY REQUEST THAT YOUR AGENCY IMMEDIATELY FORCE FORD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY GETS INJURED. AFTER 3 TRIES IT FINALLY STARTED AND I DROVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY RAN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC REPORT AND FOUND ANOTHER CODE. THE REPORT IS SAYING THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I AM VERY NERVOUS AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR.
