TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LITHIA FORD OF MISSOULA (3943 BROOKS ST, MISSOULA, MT) 59804 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,686.
AT LEAST THREE (3) TIMES WHEN I HAVE BEEN LOADING MY TRUNK, IV HAD THE TRUNK LID COME DOWN ON ME UNEXPECTEDLY. I WAS IN THE STAPLES PARKING LOT LAST NIGHT AROUND 8:00 PM IN BURLINGTON MA, I WAS LOADED IN MY NEW PRINTER WHICH I HAD BOUGHT AT STAPLES, WHEN SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING THE TRUNK LID LET GO AND CAME DOWN ON ME AND CONKED ME ON THE HEAD HARD. TEMPORARILY AFTER THE DIRECT HEAD HIT, I FELT DIZZY FOR A MINUTE, AND I COULD TASTE BLOOD TEMPORARILY FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTERWARD. I FEEL OK NOW. THIS ALSO IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS. I FEEL AS IF THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN LOADING AND UNLOADING THE VEHICLE'S TRUNK. THE LID IS HELD UP BY A STRUT SYSTEM SIMILAR TO THAT OF THE HOOD. THE TRUNK LID HOLD OPEN OFTEN QUITS AFTER IT IS FULLY OPEN AND IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. I FEEL THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS, THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION AND A RECALL ON FORD TAURUS TRUNKS. THIS HAS SERIOUS POTENTIAL FOR A CONCUSSION, INTERNAL BLEEDING, SERIOUS INJURY ETC.
CAR WAS BROUGHT IN TO CHANGE THE SERPENTINE BELT AT 76,000 MILES. TECH NOTICED THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE WEEP HOLE AND SAID THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS JOB WAS QUOTED AT OVER $2000. HUNDREDS OF OTHER WATER PUMP FAILURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED, SOME AS EARLY AS 45,000 MILES, AND FORD REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL. THE PUMP FAILS AT THE MAIN BEARING AND SPEWS COOLANT INTO THE CRANKCASE WHICH KILLS THE ENGINE AND TOTALS THE CAR. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO WARNING SIGNS WHATSOEVER. IF IT WERE NOT FOR A ROUTINE BELT CHANGE THIS ISSUE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT AND WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE MOTOR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS IT HAPPENS TO ALL DURATEC EQUIPPED FORD VEHICLES AND FORD REFUSES TO COVER THIS FAILURE UNDER A RECALL FOR THE DEFECTIVE WATER PUMP.
COMPONENT IN FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE FAILED AND FUEL PUMP FAILED AND BOTH REPLACED. SALINAS VALLEY FORD DID NOT HONOR RECALL NUMBER 16V621000 OR 15V812000 COVERING THESE EQUIPMENT FAILURES. THEY ARE OR SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE RECALL NOTICES SENT IN 2105 AND 2015. DROVE CAR TO PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND IT FAILED TO START AT END OF THE DAY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF FOR A BRIEF MOMENT TO BRING THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROCKWALL FORD (990 EAST INTERSTATE 30, ROCKWALL, TX 75087 PHONE (972) 290-2200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000. *BF *TR
THE CAR STEREO INCREASES THE VOLUME ON ITS OWN WHILE MUSIC IS PLAYING. THE OTHER ISSUE I EXPERIENCED THE CAR STEREO WAS PLAYING ON ITS OWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE STEERING WHEEL ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED HAD COME LOOSE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MAY PHYSICALLY FALL OFF IF I DON'T GET THE ISSUE ADDRESS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE STEERING WHEEL WOBBLES QUITE A BIT. I CAN WIGGLE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH AND SIDE TO SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL WIGGLES IN, PARK, REVERSE, DRIVE, AND WHEN THE IS PARKED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON OR OFF, AND WHEN ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING, THE STEERING WHEEL ITSELF APPEARS TO BE PSYCHICALLY LOOSE ITSELF. I WHEN TO A FORD QUICK LANE ON FRIDAY TO GET MY OIL CHANGED BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A TECHNICIAN THAT WAS CERTIFIED IN THAT AREA ON DUTY AT THE TIME. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE UP ON THE LIFT AND TOLD ME THAT ALL FRONT END COMPONENTS APPEAR TO BE INTACT AND IN WORKING ORDER. THE QUICK LANE CENTER HAD INFORMED ME THAT THE STEERING WHEEL APPEARS TO HAVE COME LOOSE FROM DIRECTLY BEHIND THE HORN PAD WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL ATTACHES TO THE VEHICLE. SOMETHING LIKE THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND A SAFETY CONCERN. I AM WONDERING IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS OR IF A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED IN THIS CASE. I GOING TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP/QUICK LAND TIRE AND AUTO CENTER TOMORROW.
MY CAR WOULDN'T START AND TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND LEARNED IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE THAT WENT BAD THIS ALSO CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO GO BAD AND NEED REPLACING

THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VERNER CADBY FORD (1240 BLOOMFIELD AVE, FAIRFIELD, NJ 07004) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY, INJECTION KIT, AND FUEL KIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,600. *TT
VEHICLE STALLS AND HIGH SPEEDS AND GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" WHERE VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER AND ACCELERATION. VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BEGINS TO DECELERATE IN TRAFFIC CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS AND HAZARDOUS SITUATION FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 8 TIMES IN MY TAURUS 5 OF WHICH WAS IN THE INTERSTATE IN EXCESS OF 70MPH. *TT CONSUMER STATED ISSUE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP, ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE MODULE HIMSELF. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH BOB-BOYD FORD (2840 N COLUMBUS ST, LANCASTER, OH 43130) WHO STATED THAT THE VIN WAS LIKELY NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,000.

THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
ON JUNE 9, 2015 I HAD A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WHICH SHUT MY STEERING DOWN ON I-81. THIS WAS REPLACED AS FAULTY AT EXPENSE OF OVER $2,000.00. ON SEPT. 16, 2017 AFTER 21,335 MILES THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT HAPPENED AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL CITY ROADS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY MODEL YEAR AND VIN YET THERE ARE RECALLS FOR OTHER FORDS USING THE SAME ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST LATER AND NEWER MODELS. ALSO ON THIS EPISODE OF 9/16/17 THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM FAULT CAME ON AS A FAILURE MESSAGE.
CAR RADIO/SYNC SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. RADIO WILL NOT SHUT OFF AT ALL. THE SCREEN IS BLACK AS IF IT'S OFF BUT THE RADIO STILL PLAYS! CAR IS DEFINITELY TURNED OFF, NOT IN AUX PARK SETTING EITHER... TRIED TO RESTART CAR TWICE AND IT DIDN'T REBOOT SYSTEM. I SAT THERE FOR 15 MINUTES WITH CAR DOOR OPENED BARELY UNTIL RADIO SHUT OFF ITSELF. SPOKE TO FORD REP AND WAS TOLD "NO TSB REPORT EXISTS."
WHILE DRIVING THE "WRENCH" SYMBOLS DISPLAYS AND IMMEDIATELY THE CAR JERKS AND LOSES ALL MOMENTUM. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SLOWS DOWN AND IT ALLOWS ME TO COAST TO AN AREA TO PARK. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I CAN START THE CAR AND DRIVE OFF. THIS ISSUE OCCURS RANDOMLY. MECHANICS READ THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS AND CANNOT FIND AN ISSUE.

CARMAX IN HENDERSON, NEVADA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE THE FAILURE. THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
WAS DRIVING MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES ON ROAD AND HIGHWAY WHEN CAR LOOSES POWER WHILE IN MOTION SEVERAL TIMES WITH A WRENCH SHOWN ON DASHBOARD SCREEN

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT CALLED AUTONATION FORD FORT LAUDERDALE LOCATED AT 1333 N FEDERAL HWY, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33304 WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE A FEE FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,963.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR WAS POSITIONED AT 80 DEGREES AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE LOCAL DEALER (BURDICK FORD IN CENTRAL SQUARE, NY) WERE BOTH NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,900.
MY CAR HAS 86,621 MILES AND THE THERMOSTAT LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS LEAKING AROUND THE WATER PUMP AND IT HAS TO BE REPLACED. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED AT A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY AGREED. IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MILES AND IT IS GOING TO COST $1900 TO REPLACE. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR AND HAVE ALL OF THE SERVICE RECORDS. IT IS A DEFECT IN THE WATER PUMP AND THAT IS WHY IT FAILED.
SMELLS OF FUEL INSIDE THE CAR AND RUNNING SLUGGISH. NOTICED FUEL LEAKING FROM NEAR THE FRONT OF THE GAS TANK, DRIPPING ON TO EXHAUST PIPE. HAVING IT TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT.
WON'T START. CRANKS BUT WON'T START. FUEL PROBLEM. MISDIAGNOSED AS BATTERY IN MAY 2017. MISDIAGNOSED AS BATTERY AGAIN IN JUNE 2017. NOW SAME ISSUE IN JULY 2017 & WAITING TO SEE WHAT CRAP FORD TELLS ME TODAY. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE IN 2 MONTHS BASED ON THE DIAGNOSIS THAT IS OBVIOUSLY INCORRECT. LOOKING ONLINE, I'M FINDING I'M NOT THE ONLY UNHAPPY 2013 FORD TAURUS OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM AND OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO HAVE A FUEL MODULE REPLACED. OF COURSE WHEN I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO MY FORD DEALER THAT I REALLY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THE BATTERY (ESPECIALLY A MONTH AFTER I REPLACED THE BATTERY) & THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A FUEL PUMP PROBLEM, THEY TOLD ME PEOPLE TRY TO DIAGNOSE THEIR CARS ALL THE TIME & I WAS WRONG & THAT'S WHAT THE CODE SAID SO THAT'S WHAT IT WAS, SO I AGREED FOR THEM TO REPLACE A ONE MONTH OLD BATTERY, I MEAN AFTER ALL, IT WAS MY FORD DEALER & THEY WOULD KNOW BETTER THAN ANYONE, YEAH RIGHT. I HAVE 85,000 MILES ON MY CAR & IT APPEARS TO BE IN THE MILEAGE RANGE WHEN OTHER PEOPLE ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE, BASED ON THE RESEARCH I'M DOING ONLINE. NOW FOR THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS, MY 2013 FORD TAURUS IS IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS CAR LEFT ME STRANDED 8 MILES FROM HOME THE FIRST TIME, 50 MILES FROM HOME THE SECOND TIME, AND 30 MILES FROM HOME THIS TIME. I HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL OF THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE.
I AM DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR GOES INTO A SAFETY MODE. THE IS WAS APPEARS TO BE A WRENCH THAT READS "SEE OWNERS MANUAL" THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE IT SPUTTER AND THERE IS NO ACCELERATION WHEN THE GAS IS PRESSED. I HAVE TO PULL OVER SAFELY AND RESTART MY VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY FOR ABOUT 10 MILES.

POWER STEERING ASSIST KEEPS FAULTING OUT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. SO MUCH THAT IT IS CURRENTLY OUT NOW. HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD. SOME 2013 WERE RECALLED BUT MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T. WHY NOT.
WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY IE STOP FOR A LIGHT OR A STOP SIGN THE R.P.M ON OCCASIONS DROPS FROM 600 TO LESS THAN 500 RPM AND IT START TO SHAKE, IF IF I AM NOT AWARE IT WILL STALL. WHAT WORRIES ME IS THAT ON A TRIP OF LESS THAN 5 MILES IT STALLED ON RED LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS THE SAME HAS HAPPEN TO FAMILY MEMBERS. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND NOTHING IS FOUND ( ALSO TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC THE SAME RESULT WAS GIVEN) . SAME YEAR TAURUS HAVE BEEN HAVING FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS BUT MY VIN IS NOT REGISTER, LOT OF FRUSTRATIONS. THIS OCCUR MOSTLY IN CITY DRIVING ANT THE MOMENT NOT ON OPEN ROADS,HIGHWAYS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAUREL FORD LINCOLN (2018 MS-15, LAUREL, MS 39440 (601) 649-4511) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,679.
THE HEADLINER HAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE DESPITE ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. IT BLOCKS THE REAR WINDOW. ALSO, THE UPPER CENTER BRAKE LIGHT IS ON THE HEADLINER AND IS NOW NO OPERATING PROPERLY BECAUSE OF ITS ORIENTATION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB ON THIS. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET FORD TO REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY OR FOR SAFETY REASONS WERE UNSUCCESFUL. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. RESEARCH CONFIRMS THAT THIS WAS A POOR DESIGN WITH LIMITED LIFE ON PLASTIC MOUNTING BRACKETS. REPAIR ESTIMATED TO ALMOST $1000!
ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK FAILED
THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS FAILED AND LEFT MY WIFE WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND HER ON THE HIGHWAY IN LIMP MODE JUST BARELY ABLE TO MOVE OFF OF THE ROAD ,OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC . THIS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE .

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO REPROGRAMMED THE STEERING, WHICH REPAIRED THE POWER STEERING ASSIST; HOWEVER, THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECENTLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) DESPITE THE FAILURE BEING SIMILAR TO THE RECALL FAILURE. FORD TRANSFER CASE: THE PTU OF MY 2013 FORD TAURUS BEGAN TO FAIL AT 84000 MILES. IT IS IN THE SHOP AND BEING REPLACED. IT IS COSTING ME $2000 OUT OF POCKET, BECAUSE I DIDN'T EXPECT SUCH A POOR DESIGN. I STARTED HEARING A NOISE TWO WEEKS AGO AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED (06/26/17). ENGINE STALLS FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY
POWER STEERING IS DIFFICULT AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND SURFACES. BEGAN AT 47,400 MILES. SOMETIMES HEAR NOISE WHEN STEERING TO THE RIGHT NOW.
WHILE DRIVING TO A DR APPTOINTMENT I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH WHEN THE CAR STALLED, I LOST ACCELERATION AND A WRENCH LIGHT CAME APPEARED. FORTUNATELY I WAS NEAR AN EXIT WHERE I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY, AND FIND A GAS STATION, AS I IDLED INTO THE GAS STATION AT ABOUT 2-3 MPH. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, AND OPERATION RETURNED TO NORMAL FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THEN TODAY, AS I WAS DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL AND WAS IN THE TURNING LANE TO ENTER THE FREEWAY IT DID THE SAME THING, NOT ONCE BUT TWICE IN A SPAN OF 15 MILES. AGAIN FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. OUT OF FEAR I TOOK ALL BACK ROADS HOME INCASE IT HAPPENED AGAIN, WHICH IT DID. I FOUND A RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE SAYING THERE IS A FAULT WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM THAT SEEMS TO FIT THE BILL, EXCEPT THE MOTOR IN MY TAURUS IS NOT THE SAME ONE LISTED ON THE RECALL. REGARDLESS, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS PUT MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN IN HARMS WAY 3 TIMES IN ONE WEEK, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I SPEND AN GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT I FEEL IS SAFE AND RELIABLE, AND I FEEL NEITHER AT THIS POINT FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS BUT 4 YEARS OLD.
THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT GOES OFF EVERY 5 MINUTES. THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY TURNS OFF AND WON'T START. IT ACTS LIKE IT IS OUT OF FUEL.

LOOSING POWER STEERING. FORD SAYS NEEDS NEW ELECTRIC STEERING MODULE. THIS WAS A RECALL FOR 2013 TAURUS BUT THEY SAY NOT THIS VEHICLE
REAR BRAKE SYSTEM. (ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACED 4 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS). 2013 FORD TAURUS WAS PURCHASED IN MAY 2013. MAY 2015 ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM (CALIPERS, ROTORS, BRAKE PADS, ETC) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN MAY 2015. IN OCTOBER 2015, ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM AGAIN HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME. NOVEMBER 2015, THE ROTORS WERE CUT. JUNE 2016, ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACED FOR THE THIRD TIME. APRIL 20, 2017, CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A FORD SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE ENTIRE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I ASKED FOR THE WARRANTY TO BE EXTENDED BUT WAS TOLD BY FORD'S CUSTOMER CARE TODAY THAT FORD "GRACIOUSLY" EXTENDED THE INITIAL WARRANTY TO 77,000 MILES AND CAN DO NOTHING FURTHER FOR ME WITH REGARD TO THIS MATTER.
REAR AXLE BRAKES FAILED AFTER 39000 MILES. NOISE AT LIGHT BRAKING IN FORWARD AND/OR REVERSE. PADS ARE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY WORN. ROTORS VISIBLY MARKED AND ROUGH. AFTER TRIPT OF ~50 MILES DISTINCT BRAKE SMELL AND ROTORS ARE VERY HOT. NEED TO REPLACE (NO WARRANTY AT THIS MILEAGE) AS THIS WILL EVENTUALLY DEVELOP INTOA MAJOR BRAKE FAILURE WITH SAFETY IMPLICATIONS.
