TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED AS THE TRACTION ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT'S WIFE STEERED THE VEHICLE TO A PARKING LOT WHERE SHE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON WHICH FAILED TO RESUME BACK TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND REMAINED PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS FELT IN THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE LOWERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION LATERAL LINK HAD DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V072000 (SUSPENSION) AND STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT A TAURUS-SHO MODEL AND THEREFORE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,497.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CAME ON I WAS FORTUNATE THAT IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS STATIONARY IN A DRIVEWAY AND NOT VERY FAR FROM HOME. STEERING IS LOCKED AND IT'S INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO TURN EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. I CALLED FORDS RECALL # AND I WAS TOLD MY CAR DOEST FALL UNDER RECALL COVERAGE BECAUSE THE MONTH IT WAS ASSEMBLED WAS WHEN THEY SWAPPED TO USING ANOTHER STEERING RACK DESPITE MY VEHICLE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM SPECIFIED UNDER RECALL 15S18. I'M UNSURE WHY THEY WOULD SWAP STEERING RACKS MIDWAY THROUGH THE '13 MODEL YEAR UNLESS THEY KNEW THEY INSTALLED FAULTY EQUIPMENT.
AT RANDOM, POWER STEERING GOES OFF WHILE IN MOTION.
POWER STEERING WOULD GO IN AND OUT AS I HIT BUMPS IN THE ROAD AT FIRST. NOW IT'S OUT COMPLETELY AND SOMETIMES LOCKS IN POSITION WITHOUT ABILITY TO CORRECT FOR 1 -2 SECONDS. RECALS FOR THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR HAVE BEEN ISSUED. MY VIN IS NOT SUPPORTED DESPITE THE SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROBLEM AS WELL AS THE SCENARIO LEADING UP TO TOTAL FAILURE. I HAVE A GREEN 2013 FORD TAURUS SHO POLICE INTERCEPTOR. IT WAS A STATE HIGHWAY PATROL CAR FROM RHODE ISLAND I BELIEVE. I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM CHICAGO MOTORS. IT WAS DELIVERED TO ME IN OHIO. I DIDN'T EVEN TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I TRUSTED IN FORD. BUT AFTER THE SAFETY ISSUED THAT'S ONLY ADDRESSED SELECTIVELY, I AM ASHAMED TO OWN ANYTHING WITH THE NAME, INCLUDING MY F450. I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF DISCUSSING GREED DRIVES A COMPANY TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO BE INJURED OR WORSE TO ACT ON A PRODUCT THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY ADDRESSED IN SELECT VEHICLES. I WILL BE BE FIXING THIS PROBLEM AS I DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND HOPEFULLY, IM AM ABLE TO ASSIST OTHERS I'M MAKING NON COSTLY REPAIRS THAT ARE ABOVE OEM QUALIFICATIONS. IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF BUYING A FORD PRODUCT, I SUGGEST THEY TAKE A LOOK AT THEY'RE TRACK RECORD FOR CUSTOMER CAN AND PRODUCT RELIABILITY. A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT SAYS THE SAME OF THEM AS IS DOES OF THE VEHICLE PURCHASED. I WILL BE SELLING BOTH OF MY FORD VEHICLES AS I CANNOT TRUST EITHER ONE TO BE SAFE OR RELIABLE. (3.5 ECOBOOST MOTORS- KNOWN FOR CARBON BUILDUP ABOVE VALVES LEADING TO ROUGH IDLE AND POOR PERFORMANCE. CHUNKS CAN DISLODGE AND MAKE WAY IN ENGINE AND TURBOS CAUSING CATOSTROPHIC FAILURES.) (6.0 POWERSTROKE- WEAK HEAD BOLTS STRETCH DUE TO EGR CLOG CAUSING HEAD GASKET TO GIVE UNDER PRESSURE. REPAIR TYPICALLY REQUIRES CAB REMOVAL.) THE COST OF THOSE TWO REPAIRS WOULD PAY 1/3 OF A NEW CAR. #HOMEWORK
WHILE DRIVING ON HWY.10 W. AT APPROX 70 MPH, THE WHEEL BECAME STIFF, MY SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT FLASHED, THE WHEEL LOCKED, CAUSING ME TO VEER INTO THE TRAFFIC OF AN 18 WHEELER. UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, I RAN OFF OF THE EMBANKMENT OF THE NEAREST EXIT. I TRIED TO ADD POWER STEERING FLUID BUT THERE WAS NO RESERVOIR. I GOOGLED A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHO ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. STRANDED WITH NO STEERING, THIS CREATED AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF STRESS, I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR, MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE ME. I WAS 8 MILES FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP, I TOOK A BACK ROAD AND CREEP AT 10 MILES AN HOUR WITH NO STEERING. $139 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND $2500 FOR REPAIR; I DECLINED THE REPAIR AS I HAVE BEEN IN CANCER TREATMENT FOR THE PAST YEAR AND NOW COVID19. THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD, STEERING RESUMED; I CONTINUE TOWARDS MY DESTINATION, LOS ANGELES, CA, SUDDENLY THE STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN ARRIVING IN REDLANDS, CA, AGAIN SWERVING RECKLESSLY PUSHING ME INTO TRAFFIC ON BOTH SIDES OF MY VEHICLE, VEERING ME OFF OF THE ROAD ONTO AN EXIT WHERE I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED AND SIDESWIPED BY VEHICLES EXITING HWY 10 W. FORD IN THE REDLANDS ASKED FOR $2,500 ONLY NOW I WAS PROVIDED WITH INFORMATION CONCERNING A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ON THE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF MY CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALER IN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER THE POWER STEERING BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN, THEY DID NOT KNOW FOR HOW LONG. I IMMEDIATELY CANCELED MY TRIP TO LOS ANGELES TO GET MYSELF AND THE VEHICLE BACK TO SAFETY. I MADE IT TO THE ARIZONA BORDER, THE STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN; I WAS THROWN TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD NEARLY CRASHING INTO SEVERAL CARS. I CALLED AAA, TOWED CAR TO GLENDALE, AZ, SANDERSON FORD, 90 MILES OUT. I NEARLY LOST MY LIFE DUE TO THE FAULTY POWER STEERING UNIT. POWER RESUMED BUT WAS VERY STIFF.
THE POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED WORKING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE IS AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT DAY POWER ASSIST FAULT. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2013 MODEL FORD TAURUS OVER 300,000 FOR THIS REASON BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT LISTED.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HIS VEHICLE FROM A PARKING LOT ONTO A BUSY ROAD. THE BLINKERS ALSO DO NOT STAY ON AND HAVE TO BE HELD DOWN WHILE TRYING TO TURN A STEERING WHEEL WITH NO POWER. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY VERY DANGEROUS! THE ERROR CODES THAT CAME UP ARE U3000-49, U3000-96, U3000-72, U042081, U046B-86. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2013 FORD TAURUS BUT FOR SOME REASON OUR VIN IS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALLS, HOWEVER WE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS DISCRIBED IN THIS RECALL. FORD IS REFUSING TO HELP US GET THIS RESOLVED AND TELLING US THAT WE MUST PAY FOR THE COST OF SOMETHING THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED ON 2013 VEHICLES. RECALL CODE 15S18. IT APPEARS FORD IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR POOR PRODUCT AND SELLING A VEHICLE THAT IS QUITE FRANKLY LETHAL AND NOW UNDRIVABLE.
IN THE END OF JUNE WHILE DRIVING THE ABOVE CAR, THE LEFT REAR TOE LINK/LATERAL ARM BROKE WHILE CROSSING A BRIDGE ON A COUNTY ROAD APROX 45 MPH CAUSING A VIOLENT FISH TAIL, LOSS OF CONTROL. INSPECTION OF THE BROKEN TOE LINK/ARM SHOWS AN OLD CRACK. THIS PART WAS REPLACED. ONE MONTH LATER ON JULY 27, 2020 THE RIGHT REAR LATERAL ARM/LINK BROKE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT SPEED 55-60 MPH RESULTING IN A CRASH CAUSING CONSIDERABLE PROPERTY AND VEHICLE DAMAGE. NO POLICE REPORT FILED. A RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR IS ACTIVE BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY MODEL. IM SURE MY CAR CONTAINS THE SAME PARTS THAT FAILED. THE RECALL NUMBERS ARE CAMPAIGN ID 20V072000. RECALL DATE 2020-02-11. FORD RECALL NUMBER 20S04. AN INSURANCE CLAIM IS IN THE PROCESS NOW.
STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE TURNING AT 25MPH. CROSSED 3 LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC UNTIL I COULD STOP ON SHOULDER. CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. NOT LOSS OF POWER STEERING -- STEERING LOCKED UP COMPLETELY.

THE CONTACT CALLED KENT PARSONS FORD (1400 SHEPHERDSTOWN RD, MARTINSBURG, WV 25404) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME INFORMATION AS THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER THEN REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 174,000.
WITHOUT WARNING AND WHILE DRIVING ,THE STEERING WAS VERY VERY VERY HARD TO STEER IN YHE PROPER DIRECTION ALMOST CAUSING A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 50 MPH AND THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC ASWELL 45MPH PLUS = 95 TO 100 MPH COLLISION ON A TWO LANE TWO DIRECTION HIGHWAY.WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE POWER STEERING INFO CAME ON SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW AND STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON
VEHICLE BROUGHT IN FOR NON START ISSUE. FUEL DRIVER MODULE REPLACED ON 06/25/20. NOW MY SYNC IS INOPERABLE AFTER FUEL PUMP REPAIR.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON RECENTLY AND WON'T GO OFF BUT NOTHING ELSE IS A PROBLEM. I WAS TRAVELING TO WYOMING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
WHILE STARTING MY CAR A LIGHT CAME ON STATING POWER STEERING ASSISTED FAILED. TURNED CAR OFF , SAT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES TRIED AGAIN NO LIGHT. DROVE 11 MILES TO WORK CALLED LARRY MILLER FORD TO BRING IN. DROVE 11 MILES HOME. LOOKED ON FORD WEBSITE SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR ALL 2013 MODELS MADE IN CHICAGO FOR RECALL CODE 15S18. TOOK TO DEALER THAT WAS THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE THEY GOT BUT SAID MY VIN NOT COVERED. WANTS 2500 TO REPAIR. MY CAR HAS TWO PLAQUES THAT SAY MADE IN CHICAGO.ONE IN GLOVEBOX AND ONE IN DOOR FRAME. CAR HAS 70107 MILES. I HAVE TO REPAIR BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE 1800 MILES NEXT WEEK TO HANDLE CLOSING MY FATHERS ESTATE. I FEEL LIKE THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL. *TR
Car keeps throwing wrench light on and looses all power while driving. Car has been back to dealership and they can not find any issues. Researching it seems to be a big on going issue with the 13 ford vehicles. I’m going to be in a major accident with this car and I’m still paying on it.

POWER STEERING NOT WORKING. WENT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT ON RECALL.
RIVERTOWN FORD HAS CLAIMED TO INSPECT THE REAR TOELINK AND COULD NOT HAVE CONSIDERING I'VE FELT THE REAR END TRAILING FROM TIME TO TIME AND NOTICED UPON INSPECTION DEPLOYED BY MYSELF VISUALLY THAT THE DRIVER SIDE TOELINK HAD BEEN CRACKING. WHEN I NOTIFIED FORD BY PHONE THE DEALERSHIP AT THAT TIME BRUSHED ME OFF WHEN I FINALLY TALKED THEM INTO AT LEAST DOING A MULTI POINT INSPECTION THAT I PAID FOR THEY CLAIMED THEY HADN'T NOTICED ANYTHING. THEY THEN AND SINCE THEN REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT THE SUSPENSION WITHOUT A 300$ FEE. (2 THE OTHER INSTANCE IS AFTER RECEIVING DAMAGE TO MY PASSENGER SIDE FENDER AND OBTAINING A "SHORT" IN MY BCM I STARTED TO GET IMMOBERLIZER MESSAGES. P161-2A INCORRECT MESSAGE FROM IMMOBILIZER. I DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE WITH MY LAPTOP AND OBD2 PASSTHRU DEVICE AND AFTER SEEING THE ISSUE WAS FROM PATS WHICH BY THE WAY ISN'T EVEN PRESENT IN THE 2013-19 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDANS FORD AGAIN WANTED 400$ TO"DIAGNOSE" THE VEHICLE IN WHICH I HAD COMMUNICATED WITH THE SUPERVISOR TRYING TO CONFIRM MY FEAR OF PAYING THE AMOUNT WILL THEY BE ABLE TO AT LEAST REPAIR OR BE FURTHER ALONG.THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULDN'T EVEN FIX OR PROGRAM THE ISSUE IF THIS IS THE CASE. AFTER THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO TOW IT THERE AND HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS THEY AGAIN TRYING TO RECEIVE MORE MONEY AND CLAIMS OF PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT BY THE SERVICE TECH I REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY RIDICULOUS CLAIMS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO PROGRAM THEIR OWN FORD I THEN HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE AND AFTER 2 MONTHS I STILL HAVE THE SAME MESSAGE AFTER PCM AND BCM REPLACEMENT (2 SEPARATE INSTANCES) DATES ARE FOR TOELINK ISSUE PATS IS A CURRENT ISSUE
IN 2015 FORD RECALLED THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM FOR STEERING ON THE 2011-2013 FORD TAURUS. I CURRENTLY HAVE A 2013 TAURUS THAT IS NOT COMING UP WITH THE RECALL BUT IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AS THE STEERING WHEEL STICKS AND DOES NOT TURN PROPERLY.

THE CONTACT CONTACTED SIOUX CITY FORD LOCATED AT (3601 SINGING HILLS BLVD, SIOUX CITY, IA 51106) AND WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWERSTEERING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, ITS REALLY HARD TO STEER THE VEHICLE ALMOST GOT IN ACCIDENT. THE POWER STEERING NOW GIVES A MESSAGE SAYING ITS FAULTY, I HAVE TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER BECAUSE IVE FOUND FORMS ONLINE SHOWING THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS ON THE POWERSTEERING. FORD DENID THAT THERE IS RECALLS ON THE ELECTRIC POWERSTEERING SYSTEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ROCK AND PINION AND POWER STEERING GEARBOX FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
MY CAR HAD A HARD START AND ROUGH IDLE. 02 SENSORS WERE ORDERED BECAUSE IF THE CODE IT WAS GIVING OFF. DAYS LATER MY CAR THREW A WENCH SIGN, ONLY ONCE AFTER THE CAR TURNED OFF IT DIDN'T SHOW UP AGAIN. THE CAR STARTED JERKING, THE RPMS WERE JUMPING AND THE CAR ACTUALLY SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING. AFTER LOOKING UP THESE CODES THIS WAS AN ISSUE MANY OTHERS WERE HAVING WITH THIS CAR AND OTHER FORD MODELS. IT HAS SINCE TURNED ON, RAN FOR SECONDS, AND TURN OFF SHORTLY AFTER. EACH TIME A CODE IS RAN IT SHOWS SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN IT DID PREVIOUSLY.
2013 TAURUS LIMITED WITH 71,300 MILES WOULD RANDOMLY STALL ONLY LIKE 3 TIMES THOUGH. I WOULD HAVE TO RESTART IT TO CONTINUE ON. BUT ON 3/3/20, I WAS WAS READY TO LEAVE WORK AND MY TAURUS WOULD CHURN BUT NOT START. THE LIGHT PANEL AND HEADLIGHTS CAME ON AND THE BATTERY WAS NOT DEAD. I HAD TO LEAVE IT IN THE PARKING LOT OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT DAY I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAD DONE THE RESEARCH SO I KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS SO I LET THE DEALERSHIP KNOW. SURE ENOUGH, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE OF $341.
FREQUENT FULL SUSPENSION JOUNCE AND REBOUND TRAVEL MAY INCREASE THE STRESS ON THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINKS WHICH MAY OVER TIME RESULT IN A TOE LINK FRACTURE. THOUGH RECALL WAS APPROVED ON THIS MAKE/MODEL STEERING:ELECTRICAL POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS-THIS CAR IS NOT COVER BECAUSE THEY CLAIM IT WAS BUILT AFTER DATE SUGGESTED IN RECALL FORD 15S18. WITHOUT WARNING AND WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION WHILE DRIVING ON STREET/HIGHWAY AND IN MOTION THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES STIFF (NO PLAY IN WHEEL AS NORMALLY IT HAS) WHEN YOU PROCEED IN MAKING TURNS THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER AND SHUTS DOWN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT WILL NORMALLY START AGAIN,ONCE STARTED AGAIN THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY HARD TO STEER, MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THEN WITHOUT WARNING YOU WILL HAVE NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE STEERING. THIS SEEMS LIKE THE SAME ISSUE AS SHOWN IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY 2013 TAURUS AND SEEMS THAT IT SHOULD HAVE. SUMMARY FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 16V621000: FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2013-2015 FORD TAURUS, FORD FLEX, LINCOLN MKS AND LINCOLN MKT VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.5L GTDI ECOBOOST ENGINES AND 2013-2015 FORD TAURUS POLICE INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES. A COMPONENT WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE (PEM) MAY OVERHEAT CAUSING A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP. FORD RECALL NUMBER FOR THIS WAS 16S31.

STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN COLD WEATHER. VEHICLE WAS ALLOWED TO WARM UP FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES BEFORE BEING DRIVEN ON CITY STREETS AS WELL AS HIGHWAY. ALL FORMS OF TURNING THE WHEEL (EITHER TURNING ONTO A DIFFERENT STREET IN THE CITY OR A LANE CHANGE ON THE HIGHWAY) WERE DIFFICULT TO DO DUE TO A LACK OF ASSISTANCE FROM THE ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM.
I FILL UP GAS TANK, TRY TO START CAR AND CAR DOES NOT START, AND I HAVE TO TRY 2-3 TIMES TO START ENGINE. THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STAY ON UNTIL GAS GOES DOWN. *TR

DROVE SEVERAL MILES, PARKED AND SHUT OFF CAR. RESTARTED ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE. HAVE DRIVEN ABOUT 35 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS. CONCERNED FOR SAFETY OF SUDDEN STEERING FAILURES IN FUTURE. FORD SERVICE ADVISOR AT JONES FORD INDICATED THAT THEY PROBABLY WOULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG SINCE THEY CAN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM.

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE PRESENT A HAZARD AS THEY PROVIDE LITTLE TO NO PERIPHERAL LIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE EQUIPPED WITH ONLY ONE BULB PER SIDE WHICH PROVIDES LIGHT STRAIGHT AHEAD BUT VERY LITTLE LIGHT TO THE SIDE. THUS WHEN ONE MAKES A TURN ONTO ANOTHER ROAD ONE CANNOT SEE THE ROAD BEING TURNED ON PRIOR TO THE TURN. I AM PUTTING A DATE IN BELOW ONLY BECAUSE IT IS REQUIRED.
