POWER STEERING FAILED. GAVE WARNING MESSAGE (POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT) ON DASH AND WOULDN'T STEER. FOUND OUT 13 TAURUS'S BUILT FEBRUARY AND BEFORE HAD RECALL ON THIS (15S18), BUT THIS CAR WAS MADE IN SEPTEMBER. IT STILL HAS THE ISSUE, BUT NO RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE'S GEAR WAS IN PARK, THE CONTACT WENT TO THE TRUNK TO LOOK THROUGH HER BELONGINGS. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO GET HALFWAY INSIDE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS DRAGGED AS THE VEHICLE STRUCK A CURB AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN). JACK SCHMITT FORD (1820 VANDALIA ST, COLLINSVILLE, IL 62234, (618) 477-8126) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND WAS NOT MANUFACTURED AT THEIR LOCATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KENDALL FORD OF ANCHORAGE (190 GAMBELL ST, ANCHORAGE, AK 99501) WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,701.
I SEE THAT MY CAR HAS SEVERAL RECALLS FOR FUEL MODULE ISSUES. MY CAR RECENTLY STARTED LEAKING GAS AND THE GAS HAND HAS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. ACCORDING TO MY VIN THE ONLY RECALL IS MY DOOR HANDLES BUT I THINK THAT MY GAS ISSUES ARE APART OF THE RECALL THAT CNN SPOKE ABOUT. THERE ARE ALSO WEIRD ISSUES WITH THE AXEL OR SUSPENSION THAT SEEM TO BE APART OF THE RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR. I'M HOPING I CAN FIND OUT IF MY VEHICLE IS APART OF THESE RECALLS AND THAT IT CAN BE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE. THE AC AND HEAT ALSO HAVE MAJOR ISSUES THAT NOBODY CAN SEEM TO FIX I BELIEVE IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULLINAX FORD (1551 E SEMORAN BLVD, APOPKA, FL 32703), BUT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY WOULD STALL AT INTERSECTIONS OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS; EVENTUALLY THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AT ALL. I HAD TOWED TO FORD DEALER IN KNOXVILLE TN WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE FUEL PUMP, WHICH THEY HAVE REPLACED AT $905 PLUS TAX. I READ FOR RECALLS AND CAME ACROSS 16V621000 WHICH COMPLETELY DESCRIBES MY CAR'S PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY DONE 125,000 MILES. A FUEL PUMP SHOULD NOT HAVE ISSUES WITH MILEAGE. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME OBTAIN REIMBURSEMENT. IN TWO OCCASIONS A CAR NEARLY HIT ME FROM BEHIND AS I WAS STALLED.
FORD WATER PUMP CLASS-ACTION MONDAY, APRIL 1ST, OVERHEATING WARNING SIGNAL CAME ON. TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL MECHANIC RIGHT AWAY AND HE STATED THAT THE WATER PUMP IS BROKEN. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE MECHANIC AS IT'S NOT DRIVABLE.
WHENEVER I AM DRIVING MY CAR OFTEN BETWEEN 35 AND 55 MILES AN HOUR, MY CAR WILL SHAKE AND STUTTER AND FEEL LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OR SHUT DOWN. 3 WEEKS AGO IT COMPLETELY STOPPED RUNNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AT THE TIME. WHEN IT SHAKES AND STUTTERS, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I'M DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE WHEN I DRIVE IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN APRIL 2019 AND IT HAS BEEN DOING IT EVER SINCE. THE DEALER FROM WHERE I BOUGHT IT DO THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND SAID NOTHING IS WRONG.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR INDICATED IT WAS OVERHEATING. SO I PULLED OVER AND SEEN THAT THE CAR WAS SPEWING COOLANT EVERYWHERE. FROM FURTHER TROUBLE SHOOTING I FOUND OUT THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS BAD AND THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME OVER $2000. THE WATER PUMP SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT LIKE THAT WHEN I ONLY JUST HIT OVER 80,000 MILES. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE WATER PUMPS THEY PUT ON THESE TAURUS'S.
ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST GIVES OUT WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS, BUT ESPECIALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS 5-35MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT GRABS AND YOU HAVE TO PULL THE WHEEL BACK TO STAY IN YOUR LANE AND AVOID A COLLISION. VERY DANGEROUS, AS THIS SEEMED TO HAVE COME ON VERY SUDDENLY.
FORD HAS RECALLED THOUSANDS OF POWER STEERING ASSEMBLIES FOR THE 2013 FORD TAURUS BUT THEY ARE BALKING AT RECALLING OURS. FEB 5, 2019, I CALLED THEM AGAIN AND THEY RESPONDED BY GIVING ME CASE NUMBER CAS17063111 AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO ESCALATE THE RESOLUTION. AFTER 10 DAYS OF THE SERVICE MANAGER TRYING TO TALK TO FORD, THEY FINALLY TOLD HIM THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY JUST TRIED TO APPEASE ME INSTEAD OF RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A JUNE 2015 RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY. OUR CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL NOTICE CALLS FOR. I NEED YOUR HELP TO BE MY ADVOCATE WITH FORD. THEY ARE TRYING TO HAVE THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP PAY ON SOMETHING THAT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.
MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO PUBLIC ROADWAY IN TRINITY FL. MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT , MAKING TURN EXTREMELY WIDE AND FEELING OF NO STEERING CONTROL. DROVE HOME WITH FLASHERS TO LAND O LAKES FL.. ABOUT 20 MIN. WITHOUT ANYMORE PROBLEMS. FORD SHOWS RECALL IS 15S18... BUT MY VIN.# ISN'T IN THAT..? FORD IS RECALLING 422,814 VEHICLES IN NORTH AMERICA, INCLUDING THE 2011-13 FORD TAURUS AND FORD FLEX , FOR POTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING . ALSO AFFECTED VEHICLES INCLUDE 2011-13 LINCOLN MKS AND MKT... FORD SPOKESWOMAN KELLI FELKER TOLD EDMUNDS THE RECALL BEGINS ON JULY 20 ,2015 AND THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF FOUR MINOR ACCIDENTS LINKED TO THE RECALL , BUT NO INJURIES.....THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED , OR POSSIBLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS IN A DEADLY ACCIDENT ....
NO ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. FORD HAD A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT IT DOESN'T COVER THIS CAR BY THE VIN. BUT IT'S THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE RECALL. I TALKED TO FORD AND BASICALLY TOLD ME SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO ABOUT THIS CAUSE I DON'T HAVE 2500$ TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. THE CAR ONLY HAS 61000 MILES ON IT I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH LITTLE TO NO POWER STEERING FOR FOUR TO FIVE MONTHS.

I OWN A 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED. I KEEP MY VEHICLE WELL MAINTAINED BY MYSELF OR THE MECHANIC. I HAVE HAS CLUNKING SOUNDS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT END. MY MECHANIC REPLACED BOTH FRONT STRUTS AND BOTH SWAY BAR LINKS. THE NOISE HAD STOPPED FOR APPROX: A WEEK. NOISE CAME BACK MECHANIC CHANGED STRUT SAYING BAD STRUT. AGAIN HAVE SAME PROBLEM. DETAILS OF BAD CLUNKING NOISE.......NOISE SEEMS TO BE FRONT LEFT SIDE, I AND BE PARKED AND MOVE STEERING WHEEL 1/4 TURN LEFT AND RIGHT AND HEAR NOISE. IT SEEMS TO EFFECT STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS TURNING. I TRAVEL 500 MILE A WEEK FOR WORK 98% HIGHWAYS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS AND NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION. FROM OTHERS REPLACING STEERING MODULES, STEERING UNIT $2000, STRUT REPLACEMENTS. CONTROL ARMS, WHEEL BEARING??????? NEED ASSISTANCE I OWE MORE ON MY CAR THAN ITS WORTH AND CANT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR A PROBLEM THAT HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED BY FORD OR ANYONE ELSE. I HOPE ACCIDENTS DO NOT NEED TO HAPPEN BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
OUR 2013, 6 CYL FORD TAURUS LIMITED AWD HAS BEEN DRIVEN 67,004 FAIRLY TROUBLE-FREE MILES NEEDING ONLY ORDINARY MAINTENANCE. THE ONLY NOTABLE REPAIR WAS THE REPLACEMENT OF A FAILED FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE ABOUT SEVEN MONTHS AGO. ON THE EVENING OF JANUARY 20TH, 2019, MY WIFE AND I WERE RETURNING HOME AFTER COMPLETING A 40-MINUTE DRIVE. WE BRIEFLY STOPPED, WAITING FOR OUR GARAGE DOOR TO OPEN COMPLETELY AND PROCEEDED NORMALLY UP OUR DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS ON ABOUT A 10-DEGREE INCLINE. AS WE APPROACHED THE LEVEL FLOOR OF OUR GARAGE, THE MOTOR RAPIDLY REVVED UP, LUNGING THE VEHICLE FORWARD. LUCKILY, THE BRAKES HELD THE CAR BACK, WHILE THE ENGINE RACED LOUDLY AND VERY FAST. THE PROCESS OF THIS SUDDEN AND BRIEFLY CONTINUOUS ACCELERATION HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE ON, OR OBSTRUCTION OF THE GAS PEDAL. THE ENGINE BRIEFLY WENT INTO EVEN A HIGHER AND LOUDER RPM STATE AFTER I QUICKLY SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL, WHILE APPLYING STRONG PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. LUCKILY THE CAR WAS STOPPED SAFELY, BUT IT LEFT MY WIFE AND ME QUITE DISTRESSED AND CONCERNED. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR OUR MECHANIC TO INVESTIGATE THIS MYSTERIOUS ISSUE. IF I WERE TO SPECULATE ON THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, I WOULD VENTURE A GUESS THAT PERHAPS SOMETHING MAY NOT BE RIGHT WITH THE PROCESS THAT IS DESIGNED TO DETECT AND PREVENT ENGINE STALLING. IT SEEMS TO ME, THAT WHEN OUR CAR COASTED UP TO THE GARAGE AT THE END OF OUR DRIVEWAY, THE ENGINE SLOWED DOWN TO A NEAR STALL AND THEN REVVED UP INTENSELY ON ITS OWN, GIVING ME AND MY WIFE QUITE A SCARE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MONTROSE FORD (3960 MEDINA RD, FAIRLAWN, OH 44333, (330) 666-0711) AND THE COMPUTER WAS RESET AND DTC CODES CLEARED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 122,000.
I HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT IS DESCRIBED BY THE RECALL BUT MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL. THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT AND I HAVE PAID THROUGH THE NOSE TO FIX WHAT OTHER PEOPLE GOT FOR FREE.
THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM WILL SUDDENLY GO OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THE DASH SHOWS A POWER STEERING FAULT CODE. TO CLEAR THE ISSUE, THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE PUT INTO PARK, IGNITION TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. TENDS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE (NOT SURE WHY) AND TYPICALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR MONTHS AND I HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL ON MY PARTICULAR VIN ALTHOUGH THERE ARE REPORTS OF THE SAME MAKE/MODEL HAVING THE ISSUE.

MY BREAK LIGHT CAME ON AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT IT'S SAYING THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR BUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM OUR HOUSE SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2018. PROBLEM HAPPENED TO MY WIFE ONE WEEK BEFORE AS SHE WAS TRYING TO BACK CAR OUT OF DRIVEWAY WHILE I WAS OUT OF UNITED STATES. THE CAR GAVE WARNING "POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT."
RADIO WOULD NOT PLAY IN 12/2018 BUT THEN IT WAS OK UNTIL THIS YEAR WHEN IT STARTED CAUSING THE FOLLOWING ISSUES IN 11/2019. THE MY FORD TOUCH SYNC IS CAUSING AN EXTREMELY LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, OR WHEN THE RADIO IS ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS SO LOUD IT COULD CAUSE YOU TO WRECK. RADIO WILL NOT PLAY AT ALL WHEN THE RADIO IS ON. MOST OF THE TIME THE NOISE WILL GO AWAY IF THE RADIO OR CAR IS TURNED OFF. FORD HAD A RECALL BUT I NEVER WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD. I DISCONNECTED WIRE TO FUSE BOX AND THE RADIO RESET AND ALL WAS FINE, THE RADIO PLAYED ALL THE STATIONS INCLUDING SIRIUS XM BUT WHEN MY WIFE STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT DAY THE LOUD NOISE STARTED AGAIN AND SHE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS SO LOUD. SHE REACHED BACK INTO THE CAR AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THE NOISE STOPPED. HE GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND HURRIED UP AND SHUT THE RADIO OFF AND THE NOISE WAS GONE. I GOT IN THE CAR AND TURNED THE RADIO ON AND THE NOISE WAS GONE BUT THE RADIO WOULD NOT PLAY AND THE RADIO WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SELECT AM AND FM BUT COULD SELECT SIRIUS XM, USB, AND CD BUT WOULD NOT PLAY. THE LOUD NOISE ALSO HAS STARTED WHEN THE BLUETOOTH IS ON. THIS LOUD NOISE CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BE BECAUSE IT IS SO LOUD. WENT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL RAN OUT IN 2017 BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BY FORD. THIS NOISE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. I CALLED FORD AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE # CES24887147 AND THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT BUT THE FORD DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE CASE # IS ABOUT AS FAR AS IT WILL GO. THERE ARE MANY CASES ON LINE AND THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR IS ABOUT $1500.00 BUT IT SHOULD BE FORD'S COST NOT MINE BECAUSE I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I INSTALLED LATEST UPDATE IT WORKED THAT DAY BUT ISSUE WAS BACK NEXT DAY.
TL* THE CONTACT DRIVES A 2013 FORD TAURUS POLICE INTERCEPTOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT STEEL CABLE SNAPPED IN HALF WHEN THE OFFICER TRIED TO SECURE HIMSELF IN THE VEHICLE BEFORE DRIVING. THE CABLE FLEW UP AFTER BEING SNAPPED IN FROM THE BASE OF THE ATTACHMENT TO THE VEHICLE'S FLOOR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,670.
AIR BAD LIGHT COME ON IN THE DASHER ALL THE TIME
I WENT TO MALL CAME OUT AND CAR WOULD NOT START. TOWED TO WEBB FORD NEXT DAY AND MECHANIC SAID FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE (PEM) OVERHEATED CAUSING LOSS OF POWER TO FUEL PUMP. A LOSS OF POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL OR PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. COST TO FIX WAS 400.00.
THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY IS GOING OUT. WITHOUT WARNING, THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING. WE HAVE ALREADY PAID TO CHANGE THE MODULE AND OTHER 2013 TAURUS ARE IN THE RECALL BUT NOT OUR VIN
DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND WITHOUT WARNING, VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND SHUDDERS. SLOWS DRAMATICALLY. WRENCH INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TURN VEHICLE OFF. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS IT WILL START AND THE LIGHT IS OFF. BOTH TIMES SPEED WAS 50-60 MPH. WIFE IS NOW SCARED TO DRIVE IT. IT HAS 52,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE THE LICENSE PLATE BULBS WERE NOT WORKING. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS TO PASS THE INSPECTION; HOWEVER, THE BULBS HAD AN INTERNAL SHORT AND THE VEHICLE FAILED THE INSPECTION AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER SERVICE CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14S08 REGARDING THE LICENSE PLATE LAMP ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS MADE WITH PHIL FITTS FORD & LINCOLN (3250 WILMINGTON RD, NEW CASTLE, PA 16105, (724) 658-3521) FOR DECEMBER 12, 2018. IN ADDITION, THE TOUCH SCREEN BUTTONS FAILED TO FUNCTION, INCLUDING THE CONTROLS FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HEATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.*BF..*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (WESTFIELD FORD, 6200 S. LAGRANGE RD, COUNTRYSIDE, IL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE ENGINE JUST STALLS WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHILE DRIVING AND WILL NOT RESTART FOR AWHILE. I CALLED FORD, BUT THE LADY TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT TECHNICIANS AT THE CALL CENTER SO THEY CAN'T ASSIST; EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEIR SCANNING DIDN'T REVEAL ANYTHING. THE ISSUES HAPPENS 5 TIMES OVER TWO MONTHS.
TAKATA RECALLS. WHILE DRIVING SOMETIMES THE STEERING STIFFEN UP MAKING THE CAR HARD TO CONTROL WHILE DRIVING AND PARKING THEN VEHICLE ,THEN THE RACK AND PINON WENT OUT, MAKING LOUD NOISES . MAKING THE VEHICLE IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH TRANSFER CASE TO THE AWD THE SEALS ARE EASILY BREAKING MAKING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING EVERYWHERE.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, 1 WEEKS AGO, POWER STEERING TOTALLY FAILED. WAS GOING ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING CAME ON MY DISPLAY. HAD TO MAN HANDLE THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE I SHUT THE CAR DOWN. I PROCEEDED TO RESTART ENGINE AT WHICH TIME THE WARNING RESET ITSELF AND POWER STEERING CAME BACK. GOT MY CAR HOME WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. JUST YESTERDAY AFTER STARTING MY CAR SAME WARNING CAME ON WITH TOTAL FAILURE OF STEERING SYSTEM. LUCKILY I WASN'T MOVING. I INVESTIGATED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. ALSO NOTED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS STATED BY MANY IN THE RECALL FORUMS I VIEWED ONLINE. THE RECALL FOR THE DEFECT WAS ISSUED 06/02/2015 (RECALL # 15V340000). I WOULD ALSO NOTE THAT THE POWER STEERING FAULT DID NOT RESET ITSELF THIS TIME AND THE POWER STEERING ITSELF IS TOTALLY DISABLED.

POWER STEERING IN MY VEHICLE WENT OUT IN MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I DID A BUNCH OF RESEARCH ON 2013 FORD TAURUS AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER TUER BUT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED. I READ IN SEVERAL FORUMS THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO HUNDREDS OF OTHER WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL, ALL TYPICALLY HAPPENING IN THE 80K -100K MILEAGE. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY MYSELF AND THE DEALER TO DOING THE REPAIR TO GET ASSISTANCE AND I WAS JUST GIVEN THE RUN AROUND OVER AND OVER, EVERY PERSON I SPOKE TO HAD A DIFFERENT ANSWER OR INFORMATION. THE DEALER NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER, SO I PAID THE $3100 IN FULL. I CONFIRMED WITH THE DEALER THIS WAS THE EXACT PART THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN RECALL 15V340000 THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THEY MISSED A LARGE SECTION OF VIN'S THAT WERE AFFECTED AND WE ARE HAVING TO PAY TO REPLACE THE PARTS OR OUR VEHICLES ARE JUST LEFT UN ABLE TO DRIVE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED; HOWEVER, AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED WITHIN A FEW DAYS WITH A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WOULD CUT OFF. IT WOULD TRY TO START BUT NOT TURN OVER ALL THE WAY. AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS THE CAR WOULD RESTART.I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT IT WAS MY FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. WHICH I SEE HAS BEEN RECALLED IN OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE.
WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTC) CAME ON MY DASH BOARD AND THE CAR WAS ALMOST UNBEARABLE TO STEER. I TRIED TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A SHOP, THE CAR REVERTED TO MANUAL STEERING AND EVENTUALLY WHEN I TURNED IT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT NEXT TO THE SHOP, IT DIED AND WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY MODULE. THIS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE IT HAPPENED.
THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK WITH THE KEY FOB. AT TIMES THEY APPEAR TO BE LOCKED, BUT ARE NOT. THIS OCCURRED AFTER A RECALL WHERE THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES WERE REPLACED. IT DID NOT DO IT AT THE DEALERSHIP SO IT COULD NOT BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW MY CAR WILL NOT START. IT STARTED, THEN DIED AND IT CRANKS, BUT DOES NOT START. EVENTUALLY THE BATTERY DIES. IT ACTS LIKE IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL. THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACE (13S04) IN JULY OF 2014. THERE IS A RECALL OF THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE (16S31) FOR CARS 201301015, BUT MINE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. IT SHOULD BE!
I WAS BACKING OUT MY YARD AND MY POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON WHICH MADE IT HARD FOR ME TO STEER. ALSO MY TRAC ADVANCE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL
FAILURE OF ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING UPON STARTUP OF CAR. THERE IS MESSAGE DISPLAYS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MESSAGE CENTER AND A CHIME SOUNDS TO INFORM OF THE FAILURE. THIS IS A FREQUENT FAILURE THAT CAN BE REMEDIED BY RESTARTING THE CAR. HOWEVER, IF THIS FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT MAY OCCUR. THIS IS THE SAME CONDITION AS FORD 15S18 RECALL. HOWEVER, THE CAR VIN DOES NOT MATCH FORD'S DATABASE BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN THE FACILITY (CHICAGO) WITH THE KNOWN ISSUE IT IS OUTSIDE THE SPECIFIED DATE OF PRODUCTION FOR WHICH THE RECALL INCLUDES. PLEASE EXPAND THE RECALL, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT PROOF OF MANY FORD DRIVERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. THE ISSUE IS MUCH LARGER THAN INITIALLY SPECIFIED BY FORD, AND COULD RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD ON THE ROADS IF NOT PROPERLY REMEDIED.
VEHICLE QUIT ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING DOWN A PAVED 45 MPH ROAD, WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE DASH AND ENGINE RAN ROUGH. ACCORDING TO THE OWNERS MANUAL THE WRENCH SYMBOL INDICATES THAT THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REDUCED POWER MODE. HAD IT TOWED TO THE SHOP AND IT STARTED AND RAN NORMAL FOR HIM. THERE WERE NO ACTIVE, PENDING,OR MEMORY CODES IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. IT WAS DRIVEN 50 MILES WITH NO OTHER PROBLEM OCCURRING DURING THE TEST DRIVES. THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE MANY DOCUMENTED CASES OF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
