WHILE DRIVING LOSS OF POWER STERING MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASH AND WHEN I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE THERE WAS NO POWER ASSIST.
MY TAURUS STALLED AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE TURNED OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A VERY BUSY ROAD. I WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY SERVICE CENTER. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND FUEL PUMP AND HANGER WITH SENDER. IT TURNS OUT THAT FORD HAD A RECALL FOR 77,502 2013-2015 FORD TAURUS'S FOR THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE. THIS PART WAS OVERHEATING CAUSING LACK OF POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP. I TALKED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, VICTOR HYER, AT COCONUT POINT FORD, ESTERO, FL AND HE IN A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL WAY TOLD ME THAT IT WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM, I NEEDED TO TALK TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAD TALKED TO THEM ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS STARTING 7/11/18 FOR MY POWER STEERING FAILURE, THAT FORD HAD RECALLED OVER 400,000 CARS INCLUDING 2013 FORD TAURUS'S (SAFER CAR COMPLAINT NUMBER 1112315) THEY WOULD NOT LET ME TALK TO ANYONE ABOVE THE LEVEL OF SUPERVISOR.
I HAVE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TRUNK HYDRAULIC MECHANISM. I WAS HURT WHEN THE TRUNK WAS OPEN I SAT ON THE BUMPER TO PUT MY GOLF SHOES ON. AT THAT TIME THE HYDRAULIC AIR PUMP THAT HOLDS THE TRUNK OPEN FAILED AND FELL DIRECT ON BY BACK. FORGETTING THIS HAPPENED IT ALSO CLOSED ON MY HEAD CUTTING IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALL BEFORE A FINGER IS CHOPPED OFF. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO I CAN RESPOND TO. STATIONARY
ME AND MY SISTER BOTH OWN 2013 TAURUSES, MINE A INTERCEPTER, HERS A SELF, BY 100000 BOTH TOE LINKS WERE CRACKED AND JOINTS BROKE, REPLACED LINKS ON BOTH CARS. PLUS MY FUEL MODULE WAS UNDER RECALL AND NOT HERS, BUT HERS FAILED AND MINE DID NOT. SHE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR HER MODULE, AND MINE WAS FIXED UNDER RECALL.
ON (4) OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, A WRENCH LIGHT HAS COME ON AND MY TAURUS ENTERED LIMP MODE, CAUSING A RAPID DECELERATION WITH THE INABILITY TO MAINTAIN A SAFE SPEED WITH OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. IN ALL BUT ONE OF THESE INSTANCES, I WAS IN A CENTER TRAVEL LANE ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY WHERE THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC REGULARLY EXCEEDS 65MPH. THE FACT THAT THIS "LIMP" MODE CAN INITIATE AND REDUCE YOUR SPEED AS DRASTICALLY AS IT DOES IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY CONCERN.
VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER STEERING. LOW SPEEDS IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS STEERING WHEEL FEELS LOCKED UP. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP (WILLIAMS FORD LINCOLN SERVICE DEPT - 205 SOUTH MAIN STREET ATHENS, PA 18810) TWICE. FIRST TIME THEY DID A CPU UPDATE - SAID THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE UNTIL THAT WAS COMPLETE - WERE 99% SURE IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. MADE IT WORSE - BACK IN THE SHOP NOW WAITING TO HEAR HOW TO PROCEED.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE POWER STEERING FAULT LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED. I THEN TOOK THE TAURUS TO COCONUT POINT FORD. THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED A NEW STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY AND MY TAURUS WAS NOT ON THE #15S18 RECALL LIST. I HAVE ENCLOSED MY INVOICE FOR $2,093.45. I TALKED TWICE TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I MENTIONED THE 445,000 CARS (INCLUDING THE 2013 TAURUS) THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. "NOTHING THEY CAN DO!" NOT A GREAT ANSWER... LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, THERE ARE A LOT OF FORD TAURUS CUSTOMERS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS BEING RECALLED. I AM VERY THANKFUL THAT MY WIFE WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED!
THE CAR IS NOT STEERING CORRECTLY AS IT SHOULD. THE WHEEL IS HARDER TO TURN AT LOWER SPEEDS AND WILL SOMEWHAT ACT NORMAL AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED, BUT WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SUBURBAN FORD OF FERNDALE (21600 WOODWARD AVE, FERNDALE, MI 48220, (248) 399-1000), BUT THE DIAGNOSIS RESULTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH LAKE VIEW FORD (12381 CONNEAUT LAKE ROAD, CONNEAUT LAKE, PA 16316, (814) 382-5485) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING. WOULD THEN CRANK BUT NOT START. DIAGNOSED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AS THE PROBLEM. REMOVED AND REPLACED AND CAR STARTED. REMOVED PART WAS ON RECALL LIST FOR DIFFERENT MODEL TAURUS AND THE FORD CARS BUT NOT MINE (2013 FORD TAURUS SEL). I RECEIVED NO RECALL NOTICE. FORD FUEL PUMP RELAY PART NUMBER AA8A-9D412-CA WITH SUPPLIER P/N D7790045-0C WAS OEM ON MY CAR. THIS PART IS LISTED AS FAULTY ON THE FORD WEB SITE BUT NOT FOR MY CAR MODEL AND I RECEIVED NO NOTICE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS FAILURE MODE.
80,200 MILES - DURING A 2 HOUR DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 80MPH, MY TRANSMISSION LOST THE LOW GEARS. AS I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN IN CONSTRUCTION, MY CAR EXPERENCED LOUD HARD JOLTING SHIFTS WHEN IT ATTEMPTED TO DOWNSHIFT, BOUNCING MY MOTHER'S HEAD OFF THE DASH. IT WAS SUPER SLUGGISH LIKE FOLLOWING AND HARD TO BRING IT TO A STOP. WHEN STOPPED AND SHIFTING THROUGH THE GEARS YOU COULD HEAR IT SLAM INTO GEAR A FEW SECONDS AFTER SHIFTING INTO DRIVE. RESULTED IN A COSTLY TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT.

THE DEALER (FAIRWAY FORD INC, 444 US-117, BURGAW, NC 28425, (800) 291-7714) WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCDAVID FORD (300 W LOOP 820 SOUTH, FORT WORTH, TEXAS 76108, 817-935-7000), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM FAULT WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER STEERING. COMPLAINED TO DEALER ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE.
I RECEIVED A POWER STEERING FAULT ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS. IT WAS UNABLE TO BE MOVED SO I HAD IT TOWED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING COMPONENT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT MY VIN WASN'T AFFECTED. I NOTICED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE ON FORUMS AND OTHER WEBSITES. THE COST OF THE REPAIR WAS OVER 2K AND AT THAT AMOUNT FORD SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING INTO WORK TODAY, I HAD LOST MY POWER STEERING ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WHEN TURNING. I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH AND HAD SEEN THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL REPORT BACK IN 2015 (RECALL NOTICE 15S18) PERTAINING TO THE STEERING MODUAL FAILING. UNFORTUNATELY MY 2013 FORD TAURUS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL PER FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
VEHICLE DROVE FINE WITH NO WARNING OF ANY ISSUES. STARTED CAR, DROVE FROM 1 PARKING SPACE TO THE NEXT AND THE ENGINE DIED. CAR WOULD START BUT ON STAYED ON FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN STALLED OUT AGAIN. TRIED THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN, REALIZED IT WASN'T GOING TO ACTUALLY RUN. TOOK IT IN TO FORD, THEY DIAGNOSED IT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON FUEL PUMP MODULES IN SPECIFIC 2013 TAURUS MODELS, BUT MINE ISN'T INCLUDED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN HAVING THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,290.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SEIZED AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND POWER STEERING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED.THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN HAVING THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118690. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND SAW THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL REPORT BACK IN 2015 PERTAINING TO THE STEERING MODUAL FAILING. UNFORTUNATELY MY 2013 FORD TAURUS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL PER FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED HAS GOTTEN HARD TO TURN AND IS REALLY BAD AT LOW SPEED AND TAKING TWO HANDS TO TURN. IT ONLY HAS 61700 MILES ON IT. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND THERE ARE COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ISSUE AND A RECALL FOR IT. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEY SAID THAT MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, THE RECALL ONLY COVERS FORD TAURUS SEPTEMBER 7, 2010 THRU FEBRUARY 28, 2012, MY FORD TAURUS WAS MANUFACTURERED IN 2013. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE SAID THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE IS BACK ORDERED UNTIL MID JULY. THIS IS JUST ABSURD THAT MY FORD TAURUS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND FURTHERMORE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX IT UNTIL MID JULY. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS ME AND MY FAMILY DRIVE AROUND IN A CAR WITH FAULTY STEERING THAT IS UNSAFE WITH THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE US TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WITH NO FIX FOR MONTHS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIT MESSAGE POPPED UP AND THE STEERING GOT A LITTLE DIFFICULT. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON THE STEERING WAS LIKE NORMAL AGAIN. A LITTLE WHILE LATER ON THE FREEWAY THE POWER STEERING ASSIT MESSAGE POPPED UP AGAIN AND THE STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY MAKING STEERING VERY DIFFICULT.
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE CITY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY OVERHEATED, WITH LITTLE TO NO WARNING IT GAVE ME A OVER TEMPERATURE WARNING, WHICH PROMPTED ME TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE I NOTICES LARGE AMOUNTS OF COOLANT BEING SPEWED FROM THE PRESSURE RELIEF. AFTER REPLACING THE THERMOSTAT ON THE VEHICLE, IT CONTINUED TO LEAK COOLANT, ALTHOUGH IT WAS DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY WHERE THE LEAK WAS. AFTER 3 WEEKS AND SOME TESTING, THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO FIND A LEAK IN THE WATER PUMP. HAD THE LEAK NOT BEEN FOUND, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS OVERHEATING ISSUES. BASED ON WHAT I SAW WITH HOW QUICKLY THE CAR OVERHEATED WITH AND AMBIENT OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE OF ABOUT 68*F IT'S A WONDER NO FORD TAURUS' HAS STARTED ON FIRE.
VEHICLES LOSES POWER STEERING AND BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS OCCURS AT ALL TIMES BUT STEERING IS SEVERELY HAMPERED AT SLOWER SPEEDS.
CAR HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT AND NOW THE STEERING IS GETTING HARD TO TURN AND STIFF AND WON'T RETURN AFTER I TURN WHILE DRVING
POWER STEERING FAILED. MECHANICAL SHOP ADVISED PROBLEM IS FAULTY STEERING MOTOR SENSOR FAULT. FORD RECALL #15S18. OUR VEHICLE MANUFACTURED 04/2012; VEHICLES COVERED BY RECALL HAVE ENDING MANUFACTURE DATE OF 02/2012.
CAR STALLS AND CUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. IT LOSES ALL POWER AND SHUTS DOWN.IT HAS HAPPENED SERVERAL TIMES PERIODICAL ON A CITY STREET AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION.THERE IS ALSO A PROBLEM WITH SMELLING GAS FUMES INSIDE THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
TAMARA RECALL - CALL WILL NOT TURN OVER. THERE IS NO SYSTEM LIGHT OF ANY KIND SHOWING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR, SO UNABLE TO GET A CODE TO START SEARCHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD LOWER STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 WEEKS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PART IF FORD IS HAVING TO SUPPLY SO MANY NEW PARTS AND CANNOT KEEP THEM IN STOCK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JANNELL MOTORS INC (2000 WASHINGTON ST, HANOVER, MA 02339, 781-982-4500) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED ONE RECALL AND THREE TSBS FOR THE STEERING; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THAT THE DEALER REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. *TT
IT FEELS LIKE THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING, MAKING THE CAR VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. IT IS MOST NOTICEABLE AT LOWER SPEEDS, WHILE DRIVING IN PARKING LOTS OR CITY STREETS, BUT THERE IS MORE RESISTANCE THAN USUAL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO DO NOT RETURN TO CENTER AFTER A TURN. IT'S LIKE THE POWER STEERING WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO.
EPAS RECALL, I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL, BUT IT HAS AN EPAS STEERING PROBLEM DESCRIBED AS THE RECALL. AS I ARRIVED TO MY JOB ON FRIDAY MARCH 02, 2018 I NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WENT OUT AND THERE WAS SOMETHING ON THE DASHBOARD FOR ELECTRONIC ASSIST, AS WELL AS MY SLIP CONTROL LIGHT WENT ONE. AFTWR I GOT OFF, THE CAR WORKED LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED . I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS GOING TO NEED A NEW EPAS A JOB THAT COST $2200!

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AT A FUEL STATION AND LEFT THE VEHICLE PARKED UNTIL THAT EVENING. THE CONTACT THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER DUE TO SEVERAL FAILURE CODES POPULATING. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER (SUTTON FORD LINCOLN, 21315 CENTRAL AVE, MATTESON, IL 60443) DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL COMPUTER FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
OUR DEPARTMENT'S FLEET OF 2013 AND 2015 INTERCEPTORS HAVE EXPERIENCED TEPEATED HEADLIGHT FAILURES. NO RECALL FOUND FOR THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEMS BEGAN AS VEHICLES SURPASSED WARRANTY LIMITS. ONE SERVICED AT THE DEALER AND THE WIRE HARNESS HAD BURNED UP AND NEEDED REPLACED, AS WELL AS THE BCM NEEDED REPROGRAMMING. ONE HOUR INTO USE AFTER SERVICE THE SAME HEADLIGHT FAILED AGAIN. EACH 2013 MODEL HAS HAD HEADLIGHTS REPLACED AT LEAST TWICE AND THE 2015'S ARE INCREASING IN FAILURE RATE. THE SERVICE COST WAS OVER $500. THE ESTIMATED REPROGRAMMING COST WAS QUOTED AT $250. THE ABSENCE OF A RECALL WILL RESULT IN RIDICULOUS COST OVERRUNS IN MAINTENANCE BUDGETS.
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND DISPLAYING ERRORS LIKE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT...SERVICE REQUIRED" ETC. ALSO AT THIS TIME THE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND THE VEHICLE WAS VERY HARD TO TO STEER WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN BAD ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD AND THEY ARE STATING THAT THE FIX FOR THIS IS REPLACING THE WHOLE STEERING RACK DUE TO A CODE (U300) THEY PULLED FROM THE CAR'S COMPUTER. THIS IS A $2000 REPAIR!!! I DID SOME RESEARCH MYSELF AND FOUND WHERE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME NOW AND FORD HAD ISSUED A RECALL (15S18) BUT THE DEALER STATES THAT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL DUE TO IT'S BUILD DATE (FEB 3 2013). NOW IF THIS ISSUE WAS SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED FOR LATER MODEL CARS..... WHY IS THIS CAR AMONG OTHERS I HAVE RESEARCHED STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS NOTED BY THE RECALL?? COULD IT BE THAT A GENERATION ONE STEERING RACK WAS USED DURING THE BUILD OF THIS LATER MODEL CAR INSTEAD OF A GEN 2, 3, ETC? I EVEN ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER COULD HE GUARANTEE THAT THE NEW STEERING RACK HE'D INSTALL WOULD PREVENT US FROM HAVING A VERY CLOSE CALL ACCIDENT AS BEFORE AND HE STATED THAT HE COULDN'T. MY STEERING WHEEL IS GETTING STIFF DAY BY DAY. I HAVE TO USE TWO HANDS MOST OF THE TIMES NOW. MY MILEAGE IS 87000. I'VE CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP. STILL WAITING FOR ANY FEEDBACK FROM FORD.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN DECEMBER 2017 ON THE HIGHWAY. I TURNED ON THE HEATED SEAT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR. THE HEATER HEATED UP UNTIL IT WAS BURNING MY BUTTOCKS (IT FELT LIKE A BEE-STING). I TURNED THE SEAT OFF AND IT STOPPED BURNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE HEATED SEAT ON SINCE THAT TIME REGARDLESS OF THE CAR BEING IN MOTION OR IN PARK. OCCASIONALLY, I SMELL AN ODOR THAT SMELLS LIKE WIRES BURNING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE HEATER IN THE BOTTOM AND BACK OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, IT IS NOT COVERED AS A SAFETY CONCERN (BECAUSE A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR THE SEAT HEATERS) NOR IS IT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PURCHASED WITH THE AUTOMOBILE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO WORK IT OUT WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,760.

THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED GETTING LOOSE STARTING ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. THEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND NOT GOING OFF. I SAW THE RECALL ON OTHER FORD MODELS FOR THE STEERING WHEEL AND THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE THE SAME SCENARIO. I TRIED TO CONTACT FORD TWICE AND BOTH TIMES WAS INTERRUPTED BY THE AUTOMATED REQUEST TO TAKE A SURVEY. I DON'T KNOW IF THE STEERING WHEEL HAS EVER BEEN REMOVED, BUT I DO KNOW THAT THE DRIVERS AIRBAG WAS REPLACED AT SOME TIME.

I CAN TELL THE CAR WAS TAKEN CARE OF BY HIM HE PUT VERY NICE TSW WHEELS AND VERY EXPENSIVE CONTINENTAL CONTITRACK TIRES THAT ARE ABUT 300.00 A PIECE WEATHERTECH RAIN GUARDS MATS FRONT AND REAR AS WELL AS THE TRUNK.IT WAS SUCH A BEATIFUL CAR. I BOUGHT IT IN THE SUMMER,WHEN WINTER CAME ALL THE PROBLEMS STARTED FRONT SUSPENSION CREAKING STRUTS NO MORE BACK UP CAMERA WORKING BUT FUZZY AND UPSIDE DOWN.AND TO REPLACE IT 300.00 NOW AND THIS IS THE KICK IN THE ASS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH MY 2 NEWBORN TWIN GRAND DAUGHTERS MY 6 YR OLD NIECE AS WELL AS MY 88 YR OLD MOTHER JUST EXITING OFF A JUG HANDLE THATS HOW YOU MAKE A LEFT TURN IN THE STATE OF NJ,AND IT'S A CIRCLE WELL SHE STRAIGHT INTO THE DIVIDER BLOWING OUT BOTH FRONT TIRES AND CRACKING THE LEFT FRONT RIM AND BENDING THE RIGHT ONE. LOWER FRONT BUMPER VALANCE AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE UNDER CARRIAGE .I THANK GOD THAT MY FAMILY WASN'T KILLED.I'M FURIOUS AND I MAY BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION HOLDING FORD PERSONALLY LIABLE THE RECALL WITH THE STEERING NEEDS T BE TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD ALWAYS ON ITS NOT DRIVABLE AND UNSAFE
