Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Transit vehicles. An incorrect driveshaft torsional damper service kit may have been installed, which can allow the damper shield to contact the parking brake cable, possibly resulting in parking brake failure.
Remedy Status
Dealers will replace the passenger side parking brake cable with a cable that provides sufficient clearance to the damper shield, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on September 24, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 14, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Fenton Mobility Products, Inc. (Fenton) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ford Transit passenger vans modified to be equipped with Ricon S & K Titanium Wheelchair Lifts. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."
Remedy Status
Fenton will notify owners, and a service technician will install Ricon Recall Parts Kit RI61396, free of charge. The recall began April 24, 2019. Owners may contact Fenton Mobility customer service at 1-716-484-7014. Fenton's number for this recall is RI61396.
Mobility Specialists, Inc. (Mobility Specialists) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Ford E-150 and Transit vans modified to be equipped with Ricon S-Series and K-Series wheel chair lifts. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height.
Remedy Status
Mobility Specialists, working with Ricon, has notified the owners. Ricon will provide instructions and materials for replacing defective parts. Owners may contact Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.
National Van Builders, Inc. (National Van) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seats, part numbers 43705, 45467, 48923, and 75719. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems."
Remedy Status
National Van will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the foldaway seat, free of charge. The recall began November 26, 2018. Owners may contact National Van customer service at 1-508-222-2272.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured March 12, 2014, to March 18, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the side curtain air bag may not deploy with the proper trajectory due to being folded and packaged incorrectly.
Remedy Status

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Transit cargo vans without rear seating positions manufactured March 12, 2014, to June 24, 2014 and equipped with windowless sliding doors. The affected vehicles may have been manufactured without the epoxy reinforcement on the windowless sliding doors.
Remedy Status

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Transit vehicles manufactured April 3, 2014, to May 27, 2014. Brake fluid may leak from the brake hose/caliper junctions at the rear of the vehicle.
Remedy Status

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Transit vehicles manufactured July 28, 2014, to August 7, 2014. In the affected vehicles the fuel filter bracket mounting may detach from the frame cross member over time.

XL Hybrids, Inc (XL) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit vehicles modified to be equipped with XL's electric hybrid system. The cardan (universal) joint on the front driveshaft may fail, possibly causing the front driveshaft to detach.
Remedy Status

Water can enter the tow modules and corrode the wiring causing issues such as rapidly flashing turn signals, loss of instrument panel display, an electrical short and possibly the deployment of seatbelt pretensioner.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. National Van Builders, Inc. (National Van) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Transit vehicles manufactured July 1, 2015, to October 30, 2015, and equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts by Ricon. The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack. Additionally, the lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.
Remedy Status
National Van will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. New England Wheels (New England) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Ford E-250, E-350, and 2015 Ford Transit vans equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts by Ricon. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling all 2015-2017 Transit vehicles except 156" and 178" wheelbase Chassis Cab and Cut-Away bodies. In the affected vehicles, the flexible coupling connecting the transmission to the driveshaft may prematurely fail.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify owners, and as an interim repair, dealers will replace the flexible coupling on any vehicle with more than 30,000 miles. A final remedy repair of a redesigned flexible coupling or a revised driveshaft equipped with a universal joint is being developed and is expected in early 2018. These repairs will be made free of charge. Interim notifications informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured July 15, 2015, to April 14, 2016 and equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine. A fuel injector or the fuel volume control valve may clog due to metallic debris within the fuel system.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel injection pump and associated parts and, if necessary, will replace the fuel filter and flush the fuel system, free of charge. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured February 13, 2014, to January 13, 2016 and equipped with rear passenger seats. The rear seat belt buckles may be damaged if a heavy object is placed on, or impacts, the top of the buckle. The damage may prevent the buckle from latching or from remaining latched.
Remedy Status

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Transit vehicles manufactured May 1, 2015, to June 26, 2015, and equipped with dual rear wheels. The affected vehicles have a left or right rear axle drive shafts that may fracture, resulting in loss of drive power. Additionally, the vehicle may unexpectedly roll if it is parked without the parking brake applied.
Remedy Status

The affected vehicles may have been built with seat belt assemblies that have seat belt labels that are missing the required belt model and model year and instead state "prototype sample." As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Remedy Status
Ford has notified the one fleet owner affected, and a Ford representative will travel to the vehicle locations to install a new label that includes all of the required information. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Transit vehicles. This recall includes all full-size Transit vehicles previously recalled under 17V-408 except ones that received mechanical universal joint (u-joint) as a remedy and any 156" or 178" wheelbase Chassis Cab and Cut-Away bodies models. The flexible coupling connecting the transmission to the driveshaft may prematurely fail.
Remedy Status
Ford will notify owners, and as an interim repair, dealers will replace the flexible coupling every 40,000 miles until the final remedy is available. The final remedy will consist of installation of a driveshaft front section equipped with a mechanical u-joint in place of the flexible coupling. These repairs will be made free of charge. My 2015 Ford Transit 350 equipped with the 3.2L diesel engine experienced a failure of the high-pressure fuel injection pump at approximately 72,000 miles. The pump generated metallic debris which contaminated the entire fuel system. The vehicle began experiencing drivability problems including loss of power and intermittent stalling. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Ford dealership, where metal contamination was found in the fuel system. The repair required replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, high-pressure fuel lines, and fuel rail, along with flushing and cleaning of the fuel tank and fuel system. The total repair cost was approximately 11,500. This failure appears to match the defect described in Ford safety recall 16S32 for certain 2015–2016 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with the same 3.2L diesel engine, where scuffing in the fuel injection pump can create metallic debris that contaminates the fuel system. My vehicle was built July 16, 2015, essentially within the same production period described in the recall, but my VIN was not included in the recall population. Because this failure required replacement of most of the fuel system components and created a sudden loss of power risk while driving, I am reporting this issue so it can be investigated and considered for inclusion with similar failures.

Hello- I have the back up camera rear view mirror issue of other recalls but my vehicle is not listed as a part of the recall. It is a 2015 Ford Transit 250- Is there any reason it isn't included? My back up camera in the rear view mirror goes to blue or also shows and upside down picture like the other vehicles in the recall.
We took out 2015 Ford Transit to our Repair shop and the said the Frame is rusting through. This is only a ten year all vehicle. Everything else is in working order. The frame should be the last thing to go not the first. It only has 181,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while his brother was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while reversing at 5-10 MPH, the rearview camera went blank, and occasionally the image was upside down. There were no warning lights illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention). The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed there was no recall coverage. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle with the Notary, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 115,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 330,000. The contact stated that the private seller was selling the vehicle with the previous registered owner information on the title. The contact was able to reach the previous owner of the vehicle, who confirmed that the vehicle mileage had exceeded 328,000 when it was sold.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 115,204, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 220,000.
This 2015 Transit has the same problems described in Manufacturer Recall Number 25S49/NHTSA Recall Number 25V315 Backup camera freezes and has black screen when in use.
Initially my van began with a simple engine stall and total electrical failure while driving down the highway. The check engine light came on and the van was taken to the dealer to explore the problem. Multiple codes were found and were fixed which included coils, O2 sensors, fuel pump control module and several other things. Then a few days after picking the van up from the shop it had another engine stall while driving and check engine light. After taking it to the auto shop we informed of additional codes and problems which include catalytic converters, new battery, new alternator, and other things. Picked the vehicle from dealer and a few hours later the engine light came on along with engine stall while driving. I took it back to the dealer and I report problems with poor engine performance vehicle misfiring, rough running, poor fuel performance, check engine light, several engine stalls. Dealer diagnosed the van with needing a new Powertrain Control Module. Repairs were completed and upon picking the van up from the dealer the van wouldn't start, and dealer diagnosed the van with a bad fuel pump. To date we have spent over 30K in repairs, nearly 4 vehicle accidents due to engine failures, over 4 vehicle tow's, 5 battery replacements, and the van is currently awaiting new fuel pump replacement.
Driveshaft coupler failed after they installed a provisional fix on 2018, today they are fixing the problem with a solution but since they did a provisional fix they dont want to fix it at dealer
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle shuddered while shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while slowing down the transmission downshifted smoothly. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact used a hand scanner but was unable to retrieve a fault code. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Unexpected downshifting on the highway at 60mph. Caused my back tires to skid.
I have a 2015 ford transit 150 and I was driving home on the highway and out of nowhere my van downshift into I believe 1st or 2nd gear causing the engine to redline and the rear tire to lock up and cause me to lose control of the vehicle! For about 3-7 seconds in that time the cars behind me had to slam on there breaks almost rear ending me due to the abrupt deceleration from my vans rear tire locking up and as that happened the back of my van began to sway out from behind me and right at the time I believed I would have rolled over possibly killing me and injuring other drivers the van randomly went back into the proper gear allowing me to gain control and pull over. After I had time to process what just happened the check engine light came on and with my scan tool I read the code and it said that the speed sensor for the transmission had malfunctioned and after some research I found that similar year ford f150s with that same transmission and that same part number had recalled that part for the same issue! And I ask that if you would please save life’s by recalling this part it is not a debate it is a necessity please please recall this part
Transmission randomly down shift on highway almost sending me into guard rail at 70 mph transmission read code of output speed sensor and it is the same issue that has been recalled in the same year f150 with the same transmission and part. Please I pray you recall this part before someone or a family lose their life! It is a known issue and a known failure in these transmissions there is no reason this is not a recall it was recalled in the f150 for a reason to save lives so please save more by recalling this transmissions and part

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that he had discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy through a Carfax report. The vehicle was purchased through a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, on March 4, 2025, the vehicle mileage was 78,125; however, the Carfax report displayed that the mileage was 314,739 at the time the dealer had purchased the vehicle at an Auction.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Exhaust filter overloaded, drive to clean", after which the vehicle entered LIMP Mode, and was unable to accelerate above 30 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was repaired under Customer Satisfaction Program: 23M01, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 109,000.
Driveline issue
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed.
