THE UNDERCARRIAGE STARTED TO MAKE A BANG BANG NOISE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL GARAGE. AT THAT TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS UNDRIVABLE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT HAS DONE THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS ON THE COUPLER. THEY STATED THAT THE PERMANENT FIX WAS PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED AND THAT NO UPDATED PART WAS AVAILABLE AND THE FORD WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE REPAIR. THIS SITUATION IS VERY UNSAFE. A FAILURE OF THIS KIND COULD EASILY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF LIFE. THE COUPLER DISINTEGRATED. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle would also vibrate. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear axle seal needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train), which the contact stated that the dealer had performed the recall repair on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVESHAFT SEPARATED FROM THE COUPLING. ADDITIONALLY, THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOSE BRAKING ABILITY. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CLONINGER FORD OF HICKORY (1241 US HWY 70 SE, HICKORY, NC 28602, (828) 615-8653) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT COUPLING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $12,000 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V103000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.

I HAVE A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 15 PASSENGER VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED IN NOV 2016 WITH 20,000 MILES. APRIL 2019 THE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. IN JULY 2019 WE BEGAN HEARING A NOTICEABLE VIBRATION / SUBWOOFER DRONE / HUM IN THE VEHICLE.THE DRONE DOESN'T HAPPEN AT A SPECIFIC SPEED BUT IS PREVALENT WHEN WE'RE RUNNING 50-70 MPH AND BETWEEN 2000 AND 2500 RPM. THIS DRONE SOUND IS NOT CONSISTENT BUT NOW VIBRATES THE ENTIRE CABIN WHEN IT DOES APPEAR. I CAN STOP THE SOUND BY PULLING FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. HOWEVER IT JUST RE-APPEARS AT A LATER TIME. WE HAVE NOTED THAT IT IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING MORE FREQUENT AND LOUDER - EVEN VIBRATING THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD THE AUTONATION UNION CITY, GA DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER (TC) IS FAILING AND CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION -- IT WOULD BE A $3,000 REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS OTHERS WITH THE SAME VIBRATION AND FOR THE MOST PART - IT APPEARS THE TC WAS THE SOLUTION.. HOWEVER, NOT ALWAYS. MY WIPERS WORK ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. THEY WILL WORK FOR A LITTTLE WHILE, THEN SUDDENLY STOP WORKING, AND START WORKING AGAIN LATER. IT HAPPENS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, IN WARM & COLD WEATHER, WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE VAN IS PARKED. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SWITCH, WHICH THEY REPLACED, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT. THEY SAID THE CODE THEY GOT GAVE THEM A LIST OF THINGS THAT THEY CAN CHECK, BUT MANY OF THEM ARE VERY LABOR INTENSIVE TO DO AND THEREFORE VERY COSTLY (LIKE TAKING APART THE STEERING COLUMN TO CHECK SOME PINS TO SEE IF THEY ARE CORRODED). ONE OF THE THINGS THEY SAID THEY NEED TO CHECK TAKES ABOUT 5 HOURS TO DO, SO AT $100/HR (WHAT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER CHARGES), THE LABOR ALONE WOULD COST ME $500, AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE COST OF ANY REPAIRS. THIS IS A GENUINE SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER PAYING HUNDREDS AND POSSIBLY EVEN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
WATER LEAKS INTO AIR FILTER, CAUSING STALLING AND EXTENSIVE ENGINE DAMAGE HAD THE STALLING OCCURRED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AN ACCIDENT COULD EASILY HAPPENED
FRONT SUBFRAME AND TRANSMISSION CROSS MEMBER ROTTING OUT. TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 130K MILES THE TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING THE VAN NOT ACCELERATE THEN WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL. IT WAS IN A DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS. THE RUSTED AND ROTTED OUT METAL STRUCTURES WERE FOUND WHEN REPAIRING THE TRANSMISSION
I AM CALLING NUMEROUS TIMES TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO CORRECT THE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACEMENT' I AM WAS TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES THAT SOMEONE WILL GET BACK TO US. RECALL 17S15 / NHTSA 17V-408 REPAIR COMPLETED TO DRIVESHAFT REAR END FLEXIBLE COUPLING BY MULLINAX FORD OF MOBILE AL ON 7-23-2018 AT 76905 MILEAGE WARNING OF NOISE AND VIBRATION SAFETY ISSUES. ON 13 MAR 2019 LOUD WHINNING NOISE FROM REAR END BY MULLINEX FORD REQUIRED REAR END REBUILD FOR $368.32 PARTS AND $1545 LABOR, PLUS $109 DIAGNOSIS TO SOLVE NOISE ISSUE NOTED IN SAFETY RECALL. NOISE OCCURING ALWAYS BUT VERY LOUD HUMMING AT 55-70 MPH TOO LOUD TO TALK OR LISTEN TO RADIO...PAINFUL OVER AN HOUR DRIVE TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROADWAY FORD (501 S. 7TH ST., ST. LOUIS, MO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FLEXIBLE DRIVESHAFT COUPLING WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE IN 2017 AND 2018 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE LATER EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SCAFFIDI AUTO STEVENS POINT (888-718-5340, LOCATED AT 3733 STANLEY ST, STEVENS POINT, WI 54481) WHERE METAL FILINGS WERE FOUND IN THE FUEL FILTER. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,495.
THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY DEVELOPED HESITATION TO START ONE DAY AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR AIR. IT DID START AND I DROVE HOME FROM WORK. I PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BUT THE NEXT DAY BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP-START BUT THE BATTERY WAS AT FULL VOLTAGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR. I WAS INFORMED THE NEXT DAY BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THERE WAS A TSB ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $850 PLUS TAX. APPARENTLY THE CABIN AIR FILTER IS NOT PROPERLY WEATHER SEALED AND UNDER NORMAL USE WATER WILL MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE FILTER, AND INTO THE MASS AIR SENSOR. FORD HAS MADE NEW REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT BECAUSE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BY A FEW MONTHS, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE BILL. HAD THE PART GIVEN OUT WHILE DRIVING (ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS) THE ENGINE WOULD SEIZE AND COULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED A CRASH.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT DETECTED AN ABNORMAL EXHAUST OR CARBON MONOXIDE ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CLASSIC FORD (8540 TYLER BLVD, MENTOR, OH 44060, (440) 266-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE BOLTS WERE FRACTURED AND NOT CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE BOLTS WERE STUCK IN THE ENGINE AND CAUSED A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW ENGINE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,000.
ENGINE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND DOESN'T WANT TO START THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES ONCE WHILE DRIVING. THIRD TIME IT HAD TO TOWED AWAY . LOOKS LIKE FUEL NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE OR PROBLEM WITH FUEL SYSTEM
THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS INVOLVED IN A RECALL WHICH FORD SAID THEY REPAIRED, NOW THE SAME PROBLEM IS BACK. THE DRIVE SHAFT MAKES A SERIOUS VIBRATION ESPECIALLY WHEN MOVING ALONG A FAIRLY LEVEL SURFACE WHERE THE ENGINE IS NOT DRIVING VERY STRONGLY. ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHWAY AT 35 TO 65 MPH. ALSO ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COASTING ON A HIGHWAY, ESPECIALLY IN A GRADUAL TURN WHILE COASTING.
2015 FORD TRANSIT CARGO E250 CAB FILLED WITH EXHAUST FUMES WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND BECAME OVERWHELMING. TOOK VAN TO FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE CHANGED OUT. REPAIR ESTIMATE WAS $2,300.00 DOLLARS AND NOW I AM LOOKING AT A $9,000.00 DOLLAR REPAIR BILL.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A TWO-LANE ROAD AT 45 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO EVEN PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TRADED CARS WITH MY WIFE SO SHE COULD TAKE OUR 6 KIDS HOME. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHO DIAGNOSED A FAULTY FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. SAID THIS HAPPENS A LOT. SEVERAL OTHER FORD VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS REASON BUT NOT THE 2015 TRANSIT.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT WHEN MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO OVERHEAT, THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64K MILES ON IT. HAVE KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE AND ALL OF THAT. TURNS OUT THE WATER PUMP IS BAD AND WAS LEAKING REALLY BAD. NOT SURE WHY THIS HAPPENED 3 YEAR OLD FORD VAN.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,435.
THIS VAN HAD A DRIVE SHAFT RECALL BEFORE WE GET THE SERVICE IT BROKE AND CAUSED LOTS OF DAMAGES INCLUDE TRANSMISSION. IT TOOK MORE THAN 3 MONTHS DURING THAT TIME WE PAID THE RENT CAR AND FORD SAID IT WILL REIMBURSE IT BUT WHEN WE CLAIM IT, FORD REFUSED PAY FOR IT AND LATER DID NOT RESPOND OUR EMAIL OR PHONE CALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,455.
FORD ISSUED RECALL 17S15 ON THE FLEXIBLE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLING, THEIR PERMANENT FIX HAS FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AFTER ONLY 45,000 MILES AND THEY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND ARE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT INCLUDING WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUE ANOTHER RECALL. ALSO AS PART OF THE RECALL SERVICE, THEY ARE REMOVING THE HOOPS THAT CATCH THE DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE COUPLER SEPARATES MAKING THIS AN UNSAFE SITUATION LIKELY TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE SHOWING CRACKS IN MY "PERMANENT FIX" DRIVE SHAFT COUPLER AS WELL AS COPIES OF MY COMMUNICATION WITH FORD AND THEIR REFUSAL TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORD SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR KNOWINGLY PUTTING UNSAFE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. *TT *TR
WHILE AT FORD DEALER FOR CORRECTION OF A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE I REQUESTED THE DEALER TO CHECK VEHICLE OVER AND TO DETERMINE IF MY VEHICLE'S REAR BRAKE CALIPER ANCHOR PLATE OR BRACKEDS WERE INTALLED INCORRECTLY (AS THERE IS/WAS A TSB ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL AND MY VAN WAS INCLUDED. THE TSB # IS 15-0190. INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE REVEALED THAT MY VEHICLE DOES IN FACT HAVE THIS ABNORMNAL ASSEMBLY (THE RIGHT SIDED BRACKET IS UPSIDE DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THE LEFT SIDED PLATE IS INSTALLED ON THE RIGHT. I FEEL THIS TSB SHOULD BE UPGRADED TO A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS MISASSEMBLY WHICH MAY AFFECT THE BRAKE PERFORMANCE OF MY VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FIRST FORD (292 WILLIAM S CANNING BLVD, FALL RIVER, MA 02721, 508-730-1000) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED RIGHT AWAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD BE CONTACTED FOR PICTURES OF THE FAILURES. THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE THE PICTURES AND STATED THAT IT WOULD BE TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER WAS STILL LOOKING TO SEE IF ANY OTHER FAILURES COULD BE PRESENT WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO A HIGHWAY I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE HEAVY RAIN. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT SMALL FLIP-OUT WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CARGO DOOR HAD SHATTERED INTO A MILLION PIECES THAT WERE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT THIS DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY ANYTHING HITTING IT. FOR THIS REASON MY THEORY IS THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY SOME INTERNAL STRESS CAUSED BY THE DESIGN OR MATERIAL. I WAS THANKFUL THAT THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN INJURED BY THE FLYING GLASS. ALTHOUGH I AM STILL COVERED UNDER MY NEW VEHICLE 3 YEAR / 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, FORD HAS REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT OR PAY TO REPLACE THIS WINDOW. ALTHOUGH IT IS JUST ABOUT 12"SQUARE, THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $970 TO REPLACE IT.

OUR TRANSIT VAN HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE DRIVELINE SINCE ABOUT 25,000 MILES. OUR VAN IS SUBJECT TO RECALL 17S15. WE HAVE HAD THE "TEMPORARY FIX," (THE DRIVELINE FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACED) ON OUR VAN TWO TIMES AT YORK'S FORD IN HOULTON, MAINE: JULY 21, 2017 (MILEAGE 28,066) AND AGAIN ON OCTOBER 11, 2017 (MILEAGE 32,787) BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE SEVERE DRIVELINE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION IS WORST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-73 MPH), AND WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR WHEN ACCELERATING. IT IS SO LOUD THAT IT SHAKES THE WHOLE VAN, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR THE RADIO OR HAVE A CONVERSATION. THE SOUND IS A VERY LOW FREQUENCY HUM, LIKE PUTTING YOUR HEAD INSIDE A SUBWOOFER. I WORRY THAT THE VIBRATION IS ALSO DAMAGING OTHER COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE OUTPUT SHAFT BEARINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND POSSIBLY THE ENGINE. ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017 I TOOK THE VAN TO A FORD DEALER IN INDIANA TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CARRIER BEARING HOLDING THE DRIVESHAFT WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET FORD TO OKAY THE REPAIR. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VAN EXCEPT FOR ESSENTIAL TRAVEL BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED READING THE FORD TRANSIT USA FORUM, A PERMANENT FIX, INCLUDING A NEW DRIVESHAFT, UNIVERSAL JOINT, AND TRANSMISSION OUTPUT YOKE, HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON MANY OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES, BUT FOR SOME REASON FORD WILL NOT DO IT ON MINE. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLING WAS REPLACED AT IMLAY CITY FORD (1788 S CEDAR ST, IMLAY CITY, MI). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
WE CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT CHAPMAN FORD WE PROVIDED THE VIN NUMBER OF OUR VEHICLE AND THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND THEY TOLD US THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. FOR THE CAMPAIGN WE WERE REFERRING TO, THEY TOLD US THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED WHICH WOULD TAKE 3 WEEKS. WE SUBSEQUENTLY CALLED ANOTHER DEALER WHO TOLD US THEY COULD DO THE TEMPORARY REPAIR THE NEXT DAY. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT CHAPMAN FORD WAS TRYING TO AVOID DOING THE TEMPORARY REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS OVER 30K MILES AND ACCORDING TO THE RECALL SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE TEMPORARY REPAIR IS DONE, HENCE THE URGENT NEED FOR THE TEMP REPAIR TO BE DONE TIMELY.
SLIDING DOOR ALERT KEEPS GOING OFF. POSSIBLE SENSOR OR LATCH DEFECT. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OVER DIPS, BUMPS AND WHILE BRAKING. UNABLE TO READ DASH SYSTEM PANEL WHILE ALERT IS ON. A FELLOW NHTSA STAFF PERSON RAN A VIN CHECK ON THE VEHICLE BY PHONE AND DETERMINED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE VAN. UNFORTUNATELY, I DID NOT WRITE DOWN THE VIN# OF THE SPECIFIC VEHICLE BUT WAS PROVIDED ASSISTANCE FROM NHTSA STAFF TO IDENTIFY THE # AS [XXX] (SEE THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT PROVIDE TO ME BY NHTSA STAFF PERSON, [XXX]). I THEN CONTACTED ZIPCAR AND PUT IN A REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE, SPENDING TIME ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS, FIRST A PERSON APPARENTLY BASED IN MEXICO, THEN ANOTHER BASED IN BOSTON. THE LAST PERSON WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME THE NAME OR CONTACT INFORMATION FOR ANY "LOCAL FLEET TEAM" MANAGER THAT WOULD LIKELY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR/MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE IN SEATTLE. I DID SPEAK WITH [XXX] (BATCH #[XXX]; HE WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME HIS LAST NAME, BUT GAVE ME HIS BATCH #...AN EMPLOYEE ID#). I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY ANY OTHER ZIPCAR REPRESENTATIVES SINCE. SINCE WE WERE UNABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER ( THE TRUCK IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY). WE HAD THE SHOP REPLACE THE FAULTY CALIPER. SO WE COULD GET THE TRUCK BACK ON THE ROAD. DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACEMENTTHE FLEXIBLE COUPLING BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND DRIVESHAFT IN CERTAIN 2015 TO 2017 TRANSIT VEHICLES MAY PREMATURELY DETERIORATE AND CRACK WITH INCREASING MILEAGE. A CRACKED FLEXIBLE COUPLING WILL RESULT IN AN OVERT MOANING NOISE FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, ALONG WITH TACTILE VIBRATION. CONTINUED DRIVING WITH A CRACKED FLEX COUPLING MAY CAUSE SEPARATION OF THE DRIVESHAFT, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE DRIVING, OR UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT IN PARK WITHOUT THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED. IN ADDITION, SEPARATION OF THE DRIVESHAFT FROM THE TRANSMISSION CAN RESULT IN SECONDARY DAMAGE TO SURROUNDING COMPONENTS, INCLUDING BRAKE AND FUEL LINES.
