I HAVE 2 TRANSIT VAN BOTH BRAKE WEAR AROUND 18000 N WHEN WEAR GO RIGHT TO THE MATEL AND BRAKE AND ROTOR GET HOTTER THAN NORMAL TAKE TO MANY PRIVATE MECHANICS THEY ARE SAY BRAKE UNDER SIZE OR DESIGN ISSUE
WE PURCHASED 14 FORD TRANSIT VANS FROM THE U.S. FOUR OF THE 14 ARE NOT IN DRIVING CONDITION NOW DUE TO A PROBLEM LOSING SPEED [MORE DETAILS FOR EACH VEHICLE ARE NEEDED]. THE FAULT IN ALL OF THEM SHOWS CODE P2111. THE VINS ARE: [XXX] BROKEN IN JAN/FEB 2017 WITH LESS THAN 4500KM; [XXX] BROKEN IN MARCH 2017 WITH LESS THAN 5200KM ; [XXX] BROKEN IN AUGUST 2017 WITH LESS THAN 3000KM ; [XXX] BROKEN IN NOVEMBER 2017 WITH LESS THAN 4600KM. AT THIS RATE, WE EXPECT THAT OUR ENTIRE FLEET OF LARGE VANS WHICH ARE FORD TRANSITS TO BE INOPERABLE. WE HAVE RECEIVED THE SERVICE FROM ONE OF LOCAL TRANSIT DEALERS [XXX] , BUT IT SEEMED THE PROBLEM IS NOT INCLUDED IN "RECALL NOTICE" FROM FORD . WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL ASSISTANCE IN REPAIRING OR REPLACING THESE VEHICLES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BEGAN TO FLASH AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO CHIME. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ALL AMERICAN FORD (HACKENSACK 520 RIVER ST, HACKENSACK, NJ 07601) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A GPS IN THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD. THE DEALER REVISED THE DIAGNOSIS AND STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING IN THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND THE CONTACT NEEDED TO CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE DEALER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOX FORD MAZDA (3560 28TH STREET GRAND RAPIDS MI, 49512 PHONE: (616-956-5511)) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE FUEL INJECTOR AND FUEL TANK. THE FUEL INJECTOR, FUEL PUMP, AND FUEL FILTER WERE REPLACED AND THE FUEL TANK WAS CLEANED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V618000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
THIS VEHICLE, ALONG WITH EXPLORERS AND TRANSIT CONNECTS, HAS DAY RUNNING LIGHTS (DRLS) THAT ARE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO ACT AS HEADLIGHTS. IN ADDITION, THE GAUGE CLUSTER IS ALWAYS ILLUMINATED, WHICH DOESN'T ALERT THE DRIVER TO THE FACT THAT THE TAILLIGHTS ARE OFF, DECREASING NIGHTTIME VISIBILITY. THE OLDER GAUGE CLUSTERS WERE BETTER. THIS IS NOT A SPECIFIC INCIDENT, BUT A DESIGN FLAW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON AN INCLINE OR ON A NORMAL ROAD SURFACE, AND WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TURN OFF AND RESTART THE ENGINE IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REGAIN NORMAL FUNCTION. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 30 TO 70 MPH, THE REDUCE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOGANSVILLE FORD FIRST (3460 HIGHWAY 78, LOGANSVILLE, GA 30052, 770-554-9994) DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED. THE FUEL TANK CONTAINED METAL FRAGMENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AKINS FORD (220 WEST MAY STREET, WINDER GA, 30680, 770-867-9136) FOR A SECOND OPINION. AKINS FORD ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD METAL FRAGMENTS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM MUST BE CLEANED AND FLUSHED. THE DEALER FLUSHED THE FUEL SYSTEM, REPLACED THE RAILING FIVE INJECTOR, THE FUEL TANK WAS FLUSHED AND CLEANED, AND THE FUEL LINES WERE CLEANED. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR PUMP CAUSED THE METAL FLAKES TO ENTER THE FUEL TANK; HOWEVER, THE FUEL INJECTOR PUMP WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ENTERED LIMP MODE AND THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF TO REGAIN NORMAL FUNCTION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING 70 TO 80 MPH AND WHEN DRIVING UP AN INCLINE AT ANY SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER STOPPED THE VEHICLE BY CHANGING THE GEAR AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER LOCATED AT 16005 VALLEY BLVD, FONTANA, CA 92335, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVE LINE, BRAKES, AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE THE CONTACT $2,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,112.
FORD TRANSIT WITH WAS GOING DOWN A STRAIGHT FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR WHEN WITHOUT WARNING THE FLANGE ON THE DRIVE SHAFT CAME APART. DRIVER HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A SMALL EXPLOSION. THE BRAKE LINES WERE BLOWN OFF, THE FUEL LINE WAS DAMAGED, THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS BROKEN, AND A HOLE WAS BLOWN INTO THE TRANSMISSION CASE. DRIVER HAD NO BRAKES, THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS SEPARATED FROM THE REAR WHEELS, AND TRANSMISSION COULD NOT BE DOWN SHIFTED. ENGINE REMAINED ON AND SHE WAS ABLE TO STEER. THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC NEAR HER OR AROUND HER AT THE TIME. ROAD WAS STRAIGHT. DRIVER PUT HAND ON EMERGENCY BRAKE INCASE SOME ONE PULLED IN FRONT OF HER AND COAST TWO MILES TO A STOP.
DEALER IS TELLING ME WE HAVE METAL THROUGH THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM BECAUSE THE PUMP WAS FAILING AND THAT WE MUST HAVE PUT BAD GAS IN THE VAN..THEY WANT TO REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL AND TUBES, PUMP,COOLER ,INJECTORS AND DROP AND CLEAN THE FUEL TANK.PRETTY MUCH WORD FOR WORD WHAT THE RECALL IS ON SOME OTHER 2015 TRANSIT VANS WITH THE SAME MOTOR
EGR COOLER LEAK CHANGING SECOND TIME IN ONE YEAR AND ALSO I HAVE TO CHANGE OIL COOLER. THIS JOBS IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
I WAS GETTING THE TIRES ROTATED AND THE AUTO TECH SAID THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE DANGEROUSLY THIN. THE FRONT PADS WERE FINE. I INSTRUCTED THE TECH TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS. THE MANAGER CAME IN AND SAID THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER WAS FROZEN AND WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. THE VAN HAS 38,000 MILES ON IT.
VEHICLE FAILS TO START POST FUELING, DRIVER MUST WAIT AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART. THIS MAKE TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. WE HAVE SEVERAL OF THESE VEHICLE AND THEY ARE ALL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
I PURCHASED A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 350 XLT 15 PASSENGER VAN EXACTLY TWO WEEKS AGO. THE VAN HAS 30,000 MILES AND CAME WITH OEM CONTINENTAL 235/65 R16 VANCO FOUR SEASON TIRES. LAST WEEK I NOTICED A "CHUNK" OF RUBBER MISSING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE (LOCATED ON TREAD, OUTER LUG). THE CHUNK IS AROUND 1/2 TO 3/4 INCH IN WIDTH AND CONSIDERABLY DEEP. TWO DAYS AGO I NOTICED A VERY LARGE CHUNK OF TREAD MISSING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE. THIS PARTICULAR AREA IS 1 1/2 TO 1 3/4 INCH WIDE AND SO DEEP, I CAN SEE NYLON CORDS. AT THIS POINT, I NOTIFIED CONTINENTAL AS I HAVE NEVER SEEN TIRES IN THIS CONDITION WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES. THE TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED IN WEEK 38, 2014. I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING ON THESE TIRES. CONTINENTAL WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY AS I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I WANTED TO WRITE TO MAKE FOLKS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, JUST IN CASE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER REPORTS FOR THIS SPECIFIC TIRE LINE.

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.

THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE TREAD ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS SEPARATING AND THE INNER SIDEWALL WAS SEPARATING ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TREAD AND SIDEWALL FAILED. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED AND THE TWO REPLACEMENT TIRES WERE PLACED ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE USED TIRES WERE PLACED ON THE REAR. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS BLISTERING AND THE INNER SIDEWALL ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS SEPARATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRES WERE BLISTERING AND THE INNER SIDEWALL SEPARATED. THE TIRES WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,965.
SEAT BELTS AND REAR AXLE WERE RECALLED ON THIS VEHICLE SIX MONTHS AGO, AND THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CAN NOT GET PARTS TO FIX THESE. THESE ARE MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES, AND SHOULD BE ATTENDED TO IN A MUCH MORE TIMELY FASHION THAN SIX MONTHS. I HAVE CONSISTENTLY CALLED FOR THESE CAN THEY TELL ME THEY CANT GET PARTS TO FIX THESE.
I HAD RENTED THE FORD TRANSIT FROM ENTERPRISE IN NACGDOCHES TX. ON NOVEMBER 12, 2015 A LADY HIT ME AND MY 8 FAMILY MEMBER ON THE WAY TO SHELBYVILLE SCHOOL. WE HIT ON THE SIDE BUT HALF OF THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FELL OFF AND SEAT BEATS WOULDN'T LET HALF OF US RELEASE..
