VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND WON'T ACCELERATE, AND OCCASIONALLY WILL CHOKE AND STALL . O2 SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. *AK

THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT GO OUT WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES TO BE FIXED BUT EACH TIME THE PROBLEM RETURNS, SINCE THE LIGHTS DO NOT GO OUT THEY DRAIN THE BATTERY. NLM

AND MANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT THE DEALERS HAVE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY OR SERVICE BULLETINS. HOW MUCH WILL IT TAKE FOR FORD TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE 1995 LEMON WINDSTAR !!!

WHILE DRIVING, A STICK HIT VEHICLE FENDER, POPPED ONTO HOOD, BOTH AIRBAGS INFLATED, COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS ACCIDENT, SPEED 55 MPH. *AK
I HAVE TALKED WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE FROM WORK, CHURCH AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT HAVE OR HAVE HAD A 1995 WINDSTAR AND ALL WITHOUT EXCEPTION HAVE HAD THEIR TRANSMISSIONS REBUILT. MOST HAVE TAKEN THE POSITION THAT, "THINGS BREAK, OH WELL I GUESS I'LL JUST TAKE IT ON THE CHIN!". THE FUNNY THING TO ME AFTER ASKING THEM TO FIND OUT AND ALSO TALKING WITH TRANSMISSION SHOPS AS WELL AS "FORD REPAIR TECHS" AT FORD DEALERSHIPS THERE SEEMS TO BE ONE COMMON FAILURE POINT -- THE "FORWARD CLUTCH PISTON". ALL THAT I TALKED TO IN THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR WORLD SAY THAT THE PISTION IS MADE OF AN INFERIOR METAL AND THAT LATER IN THAT YEAR FORD REALIZING THEIR MISTAKE STARTED PUTTING IN AN "UPDATED PISTON" MADE WITH BETTER METAL. GOOD FOR THE FOLKS THAT BOUGHT THE LATER MODELS BUT AS OF YET TOO BAD FOR THOSE OF US THAT BOUGHT THE "EARLY MODEL". I HAVE TALKED WITH PEOPLE THAT THEIR TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 300 MILES AND MINE WENT OUT THE SECOND TIME AT 107,000 MILES AND SEVERAL AT MILAGES IN BETWEEN. ANY HELP YOU COULD LEVERAGE FORD INTO OWNING UP TO THEIR "MISTAKE" WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION GARY CLENDENIN. *AK

THE SLIDING SIDE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY CAUSING DOOR ALARM TO COME ON. TT

ABS: WHEN BRAKING ON SNOW OR ICE WHEELS LOCK UP, INSTEAD OF ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM PULSATING BRAKES, HAVE TO PUMP BRAKES MANUALLY TO REGAIN CONTROL, VEHICLE WENT INTO 180 DEGREE SKID, NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENT. *AK
INTERNET SITE WWW.CARTRACKERS.COM HAS MANY, MANY FOR WIDSTAR OWNERS WITH THE EXACT SAME PART FAILURE-FORWARD THRUST PISTON (TRANSMISSION) AND HEAD GASKET LEAK. 1996 AND 1997 OWNERS ARE ALSO STARTING TO LEAVE MESSAGES ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEMS ON THERE WINDSTARS.
FAILURE OF THE BRAKE SHOES/PADS AND ROTORS, CONSUMER NEEDS TO REPLACE THE SHOES/PADS AND ROTORS OFTEN, THE BRAKE PEDAL FADES, EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE ON TWO OCCASIONS, EA96-026. *AK *SLC
THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES WHICH CAUSES LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE DESCRIBE. TT
AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WAS VIOLENT, CAUSING INJURIES/ BURNS TO ARMS, WRIST, AND SHOULDER.
WHILE DRIVING THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP VERY WELL. THE VEHICLE HAS EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK

HOOD FLEW UP WHILE DRIVING DUE TO METAL RETAINING SQUARE BREAKING OFF THE HOOD LINER.
TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOPLIGHT, TRANSMISSION FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY WITH NO PRIOR WARNING. TRANSMISSION SLIPPED THEN JERKED VERY HARD. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED TWICE TRYING TO DRIVE THE CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, SO I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A FORD DEALER.

HAD TO REPLACE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM 3 TIMES DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR. *AK
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES FADE OUT. ALSO THERE IS EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE ARE NO BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE. *AK
