The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while it was raining, water was leaking from the driver's side door into the foot well. The contact stated that the water caused a short circuit, which caused the electrical system to stop sounding warning chimes, turn signals, and the radio was inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the amplifier needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

I bought car from a used car dealer ship. And didn’t really notice it had an air bag light on the cluster . Because newer vehicles the our bags stay off for passenger side if know one is in the seat. So that’s what I thought it was til I had it put on a computer. And it say it’s a sensor for passenger side air bag

The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 45 MPH, the contact's daughter heard an abnormal grinding noise and inadvertently smoke came from underneath the front hood of the vehicle and the vehicle was in flames. The local fire department arrived at the scene of the fire and distinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence, however, the vehicle was not yet been inspected for damages. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN information was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with the battery saver mode activated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on two occasions, where the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired on both occasions; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the service air bag and transmission warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that there was smoke coming from the battery. The vehicle had not yet been taken back to the mechanic or a local dealer for further diagnostic test or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
The contact owned a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, she heard an abnormal noise and the AC vent started to blow out hot air. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she parked at a nearby store parking lot and she saw fire at two different locations. The contact stated she was able to enter the store and extinguish the small fire located on the front passenger’s side on the instrument cluster with a gallon of water. The fire department extinguished the larger fire located by the AC wiring assembly. The fire department also stated that the fire was caused by an electrical failure and deemed the vehicle a total loss. The contact stated she burned multiple fingers on her right hand and the fire department assisted with her burns. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that the failure recurred mostly while driving and exceeding 45 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. when accelerating onto the freeway, hit 55mph and the car just stopped going. it would not go into any gear, turned off car and it still wouldnt go into gear. AAA showed up said "oh, we see this in the acadia all the time" plugged something in under the dash, the check engine light went off and he said "there you go, now it'll work fine, just dont give it hard gas when getting up to speed" turns out the code was a tranny code that when he cleared it the tranny would then work. Its bad enough i have to deal with this leaking A/C unit, 3 cans a week, and that smell is terrible, i cant even get the car up to speed when entering the freeway traffic. please make gmc fix these issues, i know im not the only one with both issues. Thank you.
MY 2007 GMC ACADIA SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING LIGHTS AND OR NOTIFICATIONS CAME ON. MY CAR BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE FROM THE FLOORBOARD AND SMOKE CAME FROM THE HOOD. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN A MATTER OF MINUTES, TOTAL LOSS.
GMC PLEASE TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE SUNROOF LEAK ISSUE! YEARS OF DATA, ALMOST 100 COMPLAINTS, SOMEONE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS AND HAVE A SOLUTION! MY CAR HAS SERIOUS LEAKING ISSUES FROM THE SUNROOF ABOVE THE DRIVER, ELECTRICAL TO CABIN DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK EXCEPT DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS/TURN SIGNALS WORK SPORADICALLY. THE LOCKS WORK WHEN THEY'RE IN THE MOOD. ALSO MEANS AC/HEAT WORKS SOMETIMES..I LIVE UP NORTH AND IT'S 24 TODAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID REMAINS EMPTY BECAUSE IT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND DRAINS OUT: WHICH ALSO MEANS REPLACING MY WIPERS IS A BAD IDEA BECAUSE THEY RANDOMLY TURN ON FOR AT MOST AN HOUR AND DRY WIPING THE WINDOW...AND DESTROYING THE WIPER BLADES. ALL WHEEL DRIVE WON'T WORK, DESPITE MECHANIC SEEING NO ISSUES. I'VE TAKEN DOWN THE MOUNTS AND TRIED TO FLUSH THE DRAINING TUBES MYSELF..AND THEY'RE CLEAR WITH NO LEAKS WHEN I TESTED THE TUBES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO FIX THIS, BECAUSE WE NEED THIS VEHICLE; EVERYDAY I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT! WE WON'T DRIVE AT NIGHT FOR THE RISK OF THE HEADLIGHTS SHUTTING OFF, AND ALWAYS FINGERS CROSSED MY TURN SIGNALS WILL FUNCTION TODAY. I HAVE KIDS! THE VEHICLE SWERVED FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND WAS UNSTABLE TO DRIVE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE CHECK STABILITY CONTROL WARNING FLASHES AND THE MOTOR GETS REALLY LOUD. CLEANED THE GROUND WIRES AND THE MOTOR IS NO LONGER MAKING THE LOUD NOISE OR JERKING BUT NOT MY SEAT HEATERS NO LONGER WORK AND NOW THE BATTERY LIGHT FLASHES BUT JUST 2 MONTHS AGO I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR! ALL OF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING!

2007 GMC ACADIA, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK KEEPS POPPING UP. IT LOSES THE POWER STEERING OFF AND ON IF YOU DRIVE IT IN THE RAIN AT ANY SPEED. WINDOWS CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED BY DRIVERS MASTER BUTTONS. VEHICLE HAS 173000 MILES ON IT. PURCHASED USED FROM BUCKEYE NISSAN. NOTICED ISSUES RIGHT AWAY BUT THEIR MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING COMING UP WHEN THEY HOOK UP THE DIAGNOSTICS. NO WARRANTY WHEN PURCHASED USED, THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE PURCHASE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR THEN GOT THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK READING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 5 MPH. STILL PAYING PAYMENTS ON THE VEHICLE, I COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC SO I PURCHASED A CHEAP CAR FROM A FRIEND AND THE ACADIA SAT IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR 2 YEARS. AFTER I PAID IT OFF I STARTED TO LOOK INTO REPAIRING IT. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT AFTER IT SAT FOR SO LONG AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE LIKE THERE WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. STILL GET ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF AND SERVICE STABILITRACK READING BUT HAS NOT HAD IT SLOW DOWN TO 5 MPH AGAIN. NOW IF I DRIVE IN THE RAIN THE POWER STEERING CUTS IN AND OUT AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL REVIEWS ON THIS VEHICLE THAT SAY THE SAME AS MINE. THE WORST PART IS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES BUT WILL NOT ASSIST IN REPAIR IF THE VEHICLE HAS OVER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES ON IT.

THE FLAMES WERE PUT OUT BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. THE ENGINE AREA AND THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WERE BURNT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE CONTACTS DRIVEWAY AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON THE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS EMAILED WITH THE INCIDENT. THE DEALER RIVARD BUICK GMC LOCATED AT 9740 E ADAMO DR, TAMPA, FL 33619; PHONE NUMBER: (813) 200-8752 INFORMED THERE WERE NO RECALLS AT THE TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 169,000.
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP ON DRIVERS SIDE IS HEATING AND MELTING THE HOUSING CAUSING A RISK FOR A FIRE!

TAILGATE GOES UP THEN SUDDENLY REVERSES AND HITS ME ON TOP OF HEAD. WORSE IN COOLER WEATHER. HAS BEEN FIXED UNDER PREVIOUS RECALL BUT STILL HAS PROBLEM. DEALER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM ULESS I PAY $145 FOR DIAGNOSTIC.

THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL OVER AND ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO IDLE FOR A WHILE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CAR STORE OF BURLEY (1001 E MAIN ST, BURLEY, ID 83318, (208) 677-3800) AND THEY STATED THAT THE CONTACT OVERFILLED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE DEALER DRAINED AND REFILLED THE FLUID. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPPED WORKING OCCASIONALLY AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEVER WORKED AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE STRUTS WERE FAULTY. FURTHERMORE, THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS ALSO MALFUNCTIONING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,700. *BF *AS

TAMAKA RECALL, MY 2007 GMC ACADIA, LOST POWER DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I WAS DOING ABOUT 55 MPH AND LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE ABOVE 20 MPH.. THANKFULLY I WASN'T HURT BUT WAS SCARY BC OTHER PEOPLE WERE BEHIND ME AND MY CAR SLOWED DOWN SO FAST! AFTER FURTHER REVIEW THIS SEEMS TO BE A HUGE ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND TO ME SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. I STILL HAVE TO HAVE MY CAR LOOKED AT BUT NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NO LONGER ON. I FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WHEN YOU COULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND LOSE POWER... TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, A SHATTERING SOUND WAS HEARD UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING, SHATTERED, AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PERFORMING PROPERLY FOR MORE THAN A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
WHILE DRIVING 45MPH ON A STRAIGHTAWAY HIGHWAY , THREE WARNINGS CAME ON "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" "SERVICE STABILITRAK" AND "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" THEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER CARS BEHIND ME AND NOWHERE TO PULL OFF THE CAR HAD LOST POWER IT WOULD NOT GET OVER FIFTEEN MPH. TAKING IT INTO BE SERVICED .I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED

SO GOT MY FIRST GM AND WILL BE LAST ONE U CAN NOT FIX THIS CAR IT WONT LET YOU AND NOT TALKING ABOUT NORMAL MAINTENANCE HAVE ONLY HAD 2 YEAR JUST GOT BACK AFTER HAVING TRANSMISSION REBUILT HAD MOTOR REBUILT LAST SUMMER DO TO TIMING CHAIN TOOK ON 100 MILE TRIP TODAY NOW GAUGES ARE FREAKING OUT ABOUT EVERY 5TH TIME U START IT HAVE CODE P0449 WICH WASNT THERE BEFORE BUT OBVIOUSLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRANSMISSION THEN GET HOME TONIGHT AND ITS GOT P0019 SO BASICALLY LOOKS LIKE IL BE HAVING TO HAVE MOTOR REBUILT AGAIN IF I DONT BURN TO GROUND FIRST SO ALL AND ALL NOT COUNTING MAINTENANCE ON IT LIKE STRUTS TIRES OIL CHANGE YOU NO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR JUST IN THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION IN 2 YEARS IL HAVE 11.000 WRAPED UP IN A SUV THATS WORTH ABOUT 7000 AND WONT LET U GET OUT FROM UNDER IT IT IS THE WORST MONEY PIT I HAVE EVER HAD. FOR EVERY THING U FIX ON IT IT CREATES 3 MORE
WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR INTERSTATE MY SIDE AIRBAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOYED AND SMOKE FILLED THE VEHICLE AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON DASH APPEARED THEN STOPPED WORKING, NO RADIO OR NOTHING. NO RECALLS OF SUCH ON THIS VEHICLE.
PREMATURE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT I WAS JUMPING THE ACADIA FROM OUR 2012 FORD FUSION DUE TO A NO START - NO CRANK ISSUE. THE ACADIA'S BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DISCHARGED, SO I PLACED JUMPER CABLES ONTO THE POSITIVE END FROM THE FUSE BOX AND THE GROUND TERMINAL. THE ACADIA'S HORN WORKED, INDICATING ELECTRICAL POWER, SO I TRIED TO CRANK IT BUT IT DID NOT CRANK. I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND SAT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE BEFORE THE DRIVER AIRBAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, THE ACADIA'S ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED BACK IN JULY OR AUGUST. THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THE CHARGING SYSTEM FAILED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE CAR SAT IN THE YARD FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE I TRIED TO JUMP IT OFF THE FIRST TIME. THE CAR DID START, BUT IT DIED ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER. THE CAR SAT IN THE YARD FOR WEEK BEFORE I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN. THIS IS WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. ONE MORE THING: THE ACADIA LEAKED FROM THE SUNROOF, AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WAS WET. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONICS. ATTACHED ARE PICTURES AFTER THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
PURCHASED THIS CAR AUG 2017 FIXED MOON ROOF CLOGS AND LEAKS ON THE INSIDE, PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN ON DRIVERS CONTROLS, STABILITRAK SYSTEM SHUTS OFF, MAKING THE CAR HARD TO STEER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COMES ON, CODES 700-SHIFT SOLENOID A STUCK; CODE 752-TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM, ACCELERATION IS UNRELIABLE AND GOES INTO "LIMP HOME MODE" WHERE IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO GO OVER 40-45MPH AND RPM DOES NOT GO DOWN, IT WILL NOT SHIFT EASILY FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING 2007 ACADIA IT RAINED AND MY FRONT FLOORBOARDS FLOODED DUE TO THE SUNROOF CLOGGING UP. IT OVERFLOWED INTO THE CAR BC IT COULDN'T DRAIN. TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AT 2ND, 3RD AND 4TH GEAR ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS OR UNDER TENSION. NAVIGATION KEEPS SAYING DISC READ ERROR. SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO GET 2 FREE DISC WITH THE LIFE OF THE CAR BUT IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET. I HATE THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE WE HAVE GOTTEN IT. I AM ALMOST DUE TO UPGRADE AND I WILL NOT BE GETTING AN ACADIA.
OUR VEHICLE ONLY HAS 86K MILES AND THE RACK AND PINION IS LEAKING HEAVILY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. SOMETIMES, THE POWER STEERING CUTS OUT AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS IMPOSES SERIOUS RISK WHILE DRIVING AND THE PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. THERE IS NO REPEATABLE SCENARIO TO DEMONSTRATE THE FAILURE. IT IS RANDOM. THE FRONT ENGINE COVER ALSO LEAKS OIL HEAVILY. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THIS COULD RESULT IN RAPID ENGINE OIL LOSS AND ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY FOR INSPECTION. UNFORTUNATELY NO PICTURES WERE TAKEN, BUT THEIR TWO TECHNICIANS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND AGREED ON THE KNOWN ISSUES. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO AGREED ON THE KNOWN ISSUES. I INQUIRED ABOUT GM HELPING WITH THESE KNOWN ISSUES, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THEIR DISTRICT AFTERSALES MANAGER WAS NOT KIND OR HELPFUL AND WOULD REVERT TO GENERAL MOTOR'S ONLINE GOODWILL CALCULATOR. HE ACCESSED THE ONLINE SYSTEM WHICH DETERMINED MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND/OR COVERAGE AND THAT THERE WAS NO GOODWILL AVAILABLE TO USE FOR MY VEHICLE. WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR GOODWILL, BUT RATHER FOR GM TO REPAIR THESE HIGH RISK PRODUCT FAILURES. SINCE THESE COMPONENTS WEAR WITH USE, NOT TIME, WE FEEL THAT WITH OUR LOW USAGE, THESE COMPONENTS SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED.

WHILE SEATED IN THE CHILD SEAT, THE CHILD WAS ABLE TO PLACE A HAND INTO THE HARNESS BUCKLE AND DETACH THE STRAPS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. *TT *TR *DT CONSUMER STATED EXTEND2FIT UPDATED COVERS FIT PERFECTLY. WE GOT THIS 2007 GMC ACADIA AT 100,230 MILES ON AUGUST 2014. NOW IT HAS AROUND 133,800 MILES. AT 115,000 MILES IT STATED TO HAVE ISSUES WHERE IT SAID STABILITY TRACK. THE TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF BY ITSELF AND NOT SURE IF THE STABILITY AND THIS ARE THE SAME THING. SOME ELECTRIC PARTS HAVE ALREADY FAILED. THE CHARGING OUTLET AND ELECTRIC WINDOWS DON'T WORK RIGHT. THE PASSENGER SIDE CAN NOT BE PUT DOWN BY DRIVER SIDE. THE REAR RIGHT SIDE CAN ONLY BE PUT DOWN OF UP BY THE DRIVER. THE LEFT REAR DOES NOT WORK WHEN THE DRIVER PUTS IT DOWN OR UP. THE POWER IN THE LIFT GATE IN THE BACK HAS GONE OUT. IT ONLY OPENS OR CLOSES MANUALLY. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL WITH THE LIFT GATE AND WE GOT IT FIXED. AFTER IT WAS FIXED THEN A WHILE LATER IT WOULD CLOSE ON US AND IT ALMOST HIT US BUT WE REACTED FAST. IT ONLY CLOSED ON US ABOUT THREE TIMES THEN IT STOPPED WORKING. IT WAS RECALL 15240.THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT THE STEERING WHEEL GETS HARD TO TURN WHEN MAKING A TURN OR U TURN. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AS I AM DRIVING. ONE TIME IS ALMOST MADE ME CRASH INTO A CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS AND IT HAS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION CODES. FOR JUST THE TRANSMISSION CODES IT WILL COST ME UP TO $4,000. ACCORDING TO THE CARFAX RECORDS IT HAS HAD INTERNAL TRANSMISSION REPAIRS AT 53,543 MILES. I FEEL LIKE THIS CAR POST A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 3YEARS AND WE HAVE EXPERIENCED MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. GM SHOULD PAY FOR THIS FAULTY PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL- ON 5-3-18 A CAR TURNED INTO THE PATH OF THE GMC AND THE GMC COLLIDED WITH IT HEAD ON. VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE PUTTING IT IN TO DRIVE ON THE EVENING OF 3/3/2018. BEGAN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IMMEDIATELY CAME AND BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY ON ACCELERATION. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER AND THEN ALL ELECTRICAL EVENTUALLY DIED WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN TO DRIVE. ONCE THE CAR WAS SAFELY PULLED OVER, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD THAT HAD THE SMELL OF PLASTIC OR BURNT WIRES. I POPPED THE HOOD AND THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX AREA. THANKFULLY THE CAR DIDN'T CATCH ON FIRE. SOME HISTORY ON THIS VEHICLE; IT WAS BROUGHT IN TO OUR LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP AROUND SEPTEMBER 2016 WITH STABILITY TRAC CONTROL ISSUES WHICH WAS CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE ROUGHLY AT IDLE AND ACCELERATION. AFTER INVESTIGATING, THE DEALER FOUND THAT IT WAS A LOOSE WIRE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSE BOX THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM; WHICH THEY FIXED AND THE PROBLEM NEVER CAME BACK UNTIL THE EVENING OF OUR INCIDENT WHEN THE STC LIGHT CAME ON; FOLLOWED BY THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE... I'LL PUT MY MONEY ON THAT FUSE BOX AGAIN AS BEING THE CULPRIT. AAA (BATTERY SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN) CAME OUT THIS MORNING TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND WHEN HE TRIED TO RUN TESTS ON THE BATTERY BUT THE GMC WAS BACK FEEDING POWER IN TO HIS CABLES AND MELTED THEM AND THE CONNECTOR ON HIS TRUCK. HE SAID THAT HE THINKS THAT IT'S THE FUSE BOX (WITHOUT KNOWING HISTORY) BUT HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND SUGGESTED THAT WE TAKE IT TO A SHOP. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THERE ARE ANY RECALLS RELATING TO THIS SO THIS WILL BE OUT OF POCKET TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE. CAR WILL BE HEADED TO THE SHOP SOON BUT DREADING THE THOUGHT OF THAT BILL I DON'T FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ON SEEING IS THAT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN TO ROCK VIOLENTLY AT RANDOM SPEEDS AND WITH DIFFERENT INTERVALS
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH THREE WARNINGS CAME ON "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" "SERVICE STABILITRAK" AND "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" THEN, THE SPEED BEGAN TO DECLINE AND I COULD NOT GO MORE THAN 35 MPH. GOT THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE TO STOP AND WHEN I PUT IN PARK A SPUTTERING IN THE ENGINE COULD BE FELT. I TURNED OFF AND WHEN I STARTED IT TO BRING IT IN FOR SERVICE IT RAN FINE BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. A VERY SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO. REPAIR WAS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. ALSO MENTION OF THE TPS SENSOR ON THE THROTTLE. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CURRENT ISSUE FIXED YET.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A DEALER, I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. LOVED THE ROOM AND ALL THE FEATURES. I HAVE OWED THIS FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. ONE DAY I HAD NOTICED WATER COMING INTO THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED IT MAINLY UNDER THE DRIVERS FLOOR. IT LOOKED MINOR SINCE THE RUGS ARE BLACK AND I HAVE RUBBER FLOOR MATS. THE REAL ISSUE HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND ON MY MESSAGE CENTER STATED TO SERVICE AIR BAGS. I DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE SINCE THIS HAPPEN AROUND THE HOLIDAYS. I DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE MY GMC UNTIL I COULD GET INTO A GM DEALER. I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCALE GM DEALER 2ND WEEK OF JANUARY TOOK TIME FROM WORK TO ADDRESS ISSUE AND TO ADDRESS THE TAILGATE RECALL. I ASK THEM TO FIND OUT WHY MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON AND IF SERVICE WAS NEEDED. IT WAS DETERMINED BY THE TECH THAT THERE WAS HEAVY WATER IN MY VEHICLE THAT LEAKED INTO THE AIR BAG MODULAR THAT IS LOCATED BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX. IT ALSO DAMAGE THE AIRBAG SENSOR LOCATED IN THE FLOOR UNDER THE RUG. MY HUSBAND ADVISED A REP AT THE DEALER THAT THE ISSUE MAY BE THE WATER CHANNELS. BUT PER THE TECH IT WAS DETERMINE THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CAUSE OF THE WATER PER THE TECH THE DRAINS ON MY SUNROOF WERE WORKING AND WAS NOT THE ISSUE FOR THE WATER. I WAS ADVISED IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $4200? TO HAVE THE AIRBAG FLOOR SENSORS, AIRBAG MODULE REPLACE, NEW RUG INSTALLED AND WINDSHIELD REPLACED. IT COST ME $3200 TO FIX WITHOUT HAVING THE RUG REPLACED SINCE MY CONCERN WAS THE AIRBAG COMMUNICATED WITH THE VEH. NO VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS, RUG AIRED/DRIED BY DEALER AND FIXED. I GOT VEH BACK ON FRIDAY LESS THAN 72 HOURS LATER CALL TO GM DEALER. WATER IS STILL LEAKING IN SAME LOCATION SAME ISSUE, WATER IS NOT RESOLVED AFRAID THAT THE WATER IS GOING TO CAUSE A FURTHER DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND AIRBAG. IM SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO GMC DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
