TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED NUMEROUS TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN SHIFTING AND VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WITHIN A WEEK OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SHORELINE AUTO GROUP INC, 2275 N STATE RD, IONIA, MI 48846, (616) 523-6882). THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH DUE TO NO SOUND FOR THE TURN SIGNALS, VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE FOR OVER A MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES MONTHS LATER TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND SAUND PROBLEMS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STRUTS ON THE VEHICLE FAILED AND CAUSED A BOUNCING CONDITION ON THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. VAN CHEVROLET IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR UNLESS THE STRUTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,800.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS DOWNSHIFTING IN A ROUGH AND JERKED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY MIGHT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE 36 TSBS FOR THE POWER TRAIN, BUT NO RECALL WAS ISSUED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE SIDE AIRBAGS EXPLODED FOR NO REASON I WAS DRIVING ON 225 IN HOUSTON TEXAS AND THEY JUST EXPLODED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH FROM A STOP SIGN, A SPEEDING VEHICLE CRASHED HEAD-ON INTO THE FRONT CENTER OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH THE CONTACT AND A MINOR PASSENGER, SEATED IN THE REAR BEHIND THE DRIVER, SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
TRANSMISSION KEEPS SLIPPING AND SLIDING OUT OF GEAR (IT WORK SOMETIME SMOOTHLY )ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M DRIVING
THE ACADIA HAD A RECALL ON THE SUNROOF FOR LEAKING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. MY ACADIA HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WATER LEAKED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DOWN THE FRAME ADJACENT TO THE DOOR AND WINDOW THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH INTO THE FLOOR AREA. THERE IS A FUSE BOX LOCATED IN THIS AREA AS WELL AS A VERY LARGE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR THAT CONNECTS TWO PORTIONS OF THE WIRING HARNESS. THE EXPOSURE OF THIS COMPONENT TO WATER HAS RESULTED IN CORROSION OCCURRING WITH THIS CONNECTOR. THIS IS A MAJOR CONNECTOR AFFECTING MULTIPLE SYSTEMS OF THE VEHICLE. THE SYSTEM GIVING ME THE LARGEST CAUSE FOR CONCERN IS THE DOOR LOCKS. ON A DAILY BASIS THE LOCKS WON'T RESPOND TO THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON ANY OF THE DOORS NOT WILL I RESPOND TO THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY REMOTE. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT EGRESS DANGER AS THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK ANY OF THE DOORS IS TO MANUALLY PUT UP THE LOCK. THIS IS FOR EVERY DOOR, ALL FOUR OF THEM. I HAVE AN INFANT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE AND IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION IT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO LITERALLY CRAWL FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT TO THE REAR SEAT, MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR AND THEN ATTEMPT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AS THE FAULT DUE TO CORROSION FROM WATER HAS BEEN OCCURRING NOT JUST TO ME, IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING TO MANY OWNERS THAT SUFFERED FROM LEAKING ROOFS ON THEIR BRAND NEW VEHICLES. I FEEL THAT GMC NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE SAFETY HAZARD THEY CREATED AND SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. BY THE NHTSA IF THEY WILL NOT DO IT THEMSELVES.
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG/ THE DEFECTIVEAIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WILL NOT TURN ON THE AIR BAG WHEN A PARSON IS IN THAT SEAT. THE GMC DEALER SAID THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, SO WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AT NO COST. I BELIEVE THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE, GMC SHOULD REPAIR THIS SAFTY VIOLATION AT NO CHARGE.
WITHIN 24 HRS OF BUYING THE VEHICLE MY EXHAUST SYSTEM FELL OFF GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALL THE LIGHTS BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WORKS ON THE DASHBOARD. WHEN YOU STOP OR ACCELERATE THE DRIVER'S SEAT MOVES FORWARD OR BACKWARDS SLIGHTLY. TRACTION CONTROL DOES NOT WORK AFTER THE SECOND WEEK OF OWNING IT. WHEN RECEIVING FOR LOANER VEHICLES ALL OF THEM DID NOT HAVE WORKING ENGINE LIGHTS. *TR
BAD ENGINE OIL LEAK AND IS DRIPPING ON MANIFOLD SHIELD WHICH CAUSES SMOKE...IT IS GETTING WORSE. COULD CATCH FIRE.
DRIVING UP ON THE HILL THE CAR JERKED AND SHAKES. PASSENGER FEELS IT. IT'S DISPLAYING SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM JUST UNDER A YEAR AFTER IT WAS DONE. IT'S NOW DISPLAYING, STABILITRAK AND CONTROL TRACTION. AFTER STOPPING FOR A RED LIGHT UPON THE DEPARTURE THE CAR SHAKES AND JERKS. WHEN IT RAINS REAL HARD, I HAVE A LEAK ON THE PASSENGER DOOR. I FEEL LIKE THE CAR FALLS APART LIGHT AFTER LIGHT. SOME PEOPLE SAYS ITS TRANSMISSION. *TR
THE ACADIA HAS BEEN MAKING A CLICKING NOISE FOLLOWED BY NO SOUND ON THE RADIO OR BLINKERS. THERE WAS WATER IN WIRE HARNESS IN THREE OF THE DOORS, WHICH SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING.THIS ALL TOOK PLACE WHILE IN PARK. AND NOW WHILE RUNNING OR NOT

ALSO, WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH BECAME INOPERABLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON OR OFF. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITY AND TRACTION CONTROL INDEPENDENTLY TURNED ON AND OFF AND THE INDICATORS FOR EACH ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR MAKING TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
FUEL GAGE SYSTEM IS NOT SHOWING HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HAS FAILED 3 TIMES . THE TANK HAS BEEN FILLED AND NEEDLE SHOW EITHER EMPTY OF 3/4 FULL. THE FUEL LEVEL CODE PO464. IT WAS RETURNED BACK TO DEALER ON 6/13/2016 AND PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES AFTER SAID PROBLEM WAS FIX WITH SILICON IN CONNECTION. (WATER DAMAGE) HOW EVER WITH END 10 MILES NEEDLE ALL OVER THE PLACE ? GOT HOME AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON TO CYCLE AND NEEDED READS EMPTY AFTER A FULL TAKE OF GAS.?
POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK IN A LOW SPEED OR WHEN UR USING THE GAS IT GETS REALLY HARD WHEN UR DRIVING ON THE ROADS SPECIALLY WHEN UR TUNING IN A STOP SING OR LIGHT IS DANGEROUS I ALMOST GET IN A ACCIDENT I'M GLAD DE OTHER CAR NOTES THAT'S AND GET AWAY
OVERDRIVE FUNCTION FAULTY IN TRANSMISSION. DURING COLD WEATHER STABILITY TRAC KICKS IN AND WILL NOT REGAIN POWER EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO BAD ROAD CONDITIONS (SUCH AS SNOW, ICE, OR RAIN) IT SEEMS TO ACTIVATE WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD. IT BARLEY MOVES INHIBITING NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. FIXED MOON ROOF LEAKS CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TO MALFUNCTION AND RAIN WATER DRIPS ON PASSENGERS AND THOROUGHLY SOAKS THE CARPETS LEAVING A MILDEW SMELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, A PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AND HIT THE GEAR SHIFTER. AS A RESULT, THE GEAR SHIFTER MOVED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD INTO A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A TOW TRUCK WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE DITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S 5-YEAR OLD SON WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS SWITCHED TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CRASHED INTO A CREEK. THE KEYS WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE OCCUPANT SUSTAINED A BRUISED BACK AND LEFT ARM, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE ABILITY TO AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE THE LIFTGATE WAS INOPERABLE BECAUSE THE MOTOR STOPPED WORKING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED MID WINDSHIELD AFTER I HAD TAKEN INTO THE SHOP THAT DAY I CALLED TO LET THEM KNOW IF THEY PERHAPS UNHOOKED SOMTHING, EXCEPT THEY WORKED FOR A FEW MILES. I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO BY A NEW MOTOR. MY HUSBAND SAID IT WAS UNHOOKED, BUT THE WIPERS STICK UP ABOUT 1/3 OF THE WAY ON THE WINDSHIELD

HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 4WKS AND HAVE BEEN BACK TO DEALER 4TIMES. 2TIMES FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (2ND TIME REPORTED WATER LEAKAGE IN FRONT FLOOR DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDES AFTER IT HAD RAINED), 2TIMES FOR STABILITRAK OFF AND SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING (3 DIFFERENT INCIDENTS ONE WITHIN 1 WK OF PURCHASE), INTERIOR LIGHTS FOR ENTRY AND REAR CONSOLE CONTROLS ARE INOPERABLE.
I WAS DRIVING HOME AND AS I WAS MAKING A SLOW TURN INTO MY DRIVEWAY THE POWER STEERING ALL OF THE SUDDEN CUT OUT AND I SLID OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A DITCH. AS I HAVE BROWSED THE INTERNET THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF SIMILAR HAPPENINGS.
THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD ALWAYS HAS A WET SPOT WHEN IT RAINS. THE REAR SPEAKERS DO NOT WORK. THE PASSENGER WINDOW CANNOT BE OPERATED BY THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE REAR WINDOW WIPER FLUID WILL INTERMITTENTLY WORK IF THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK WITH THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTER BECAME STUCK IN GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
AT 80,000 MILES TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REBUILT. CAR IS ALSO LEAKING UNDER THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER FLOOR BOARD AND MOON ROOF/SUNROOF DRIPS DOWN FROM DOME LIGHTS ONTO THIRD ROW SEATS. LEAKING HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WHEN THERE IS A HEAVY RAIN IGNITION WILL STILL RUN EVEN AFTER KEY IS TURNED OFF AND KEY IS OUT OF IGNITION CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 130,000. ALSO IGNITION WILL POWER DOWN EVEN WHILE CARE IS IN MOTION WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE STATING "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" AND VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE. CAR HAS HAD MORE PROBLEMS THAN ANY OTHER I HAVE OWNED, WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER GM VEHICLE.
CAN'T GO OVER 25 MPH SEEMS TO BE STUCK ON ONE SHIFT WHEN IN TRAFFIC.
BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE MELTED THE BULB SOCKETS AND THE BULB HOUSING. THE SOCKETS HAVE MELTED SO BAD THAT YOU CANNOT REMOVE THE BULB AND THE HOUSING HAS MELTED SO BAD THAT THE HOUSING WILL NO LONGER HOLD THE BULB IN PLACE. THE PROBLEM IS EXACERBATED BY THE FACT THAT YOU CANNOT TURN THE LIGHTS EITHER ON OR OFF BECAUSE THE DIAL DEFAULTS TO AUTOMATIC WHICH WILL USE THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AUTOMATICALLY UNLESS YOU PHYSICALLY TURN THEM OFF EACH TIME YOU TURN THE CAR OFF. THIS SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES CAUSES A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD! THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. THE PHOTO WITHOUT A BULB IS THE LEFT DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT HOUSING AND THE PHOTO OF THE BULB GOES IN THAT HOUSING. THE PHOTOS WITH THE BULB STILL IN THE HOUSING ARE OF THE RIGHT RUNNING LIGHT. THE HOUSING IS COMPLETELY MELTED AND A SUBSTANCE HAS MELTED OUT OF THE SOCKET AND INTO THE HOUSING. I FEAR THAT THESE CIRCUMSTANCES WITH CAUSE A FIRST AND JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF ME, MY WIFE AND MY CHILDREN.
TRANSMISSION HIGH IDLE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ITS NOT HOLDING FLUID
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND DISPLAYED THAT IT WAS INOPERATIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
WE HAVE HAD WATER LEAKING IN THROUGH OUR THIRD ROW LIGHTS, AND THROUGH THE 3RD ROW SEAT BELTS, AND UNDER THE DASH WHEN IT RAINS. THE CAR IS USUALLY IN A TILT WHEN THIS HAPPENS (FRONT UP), AND IT GETS WORSE AS I DRIVE. I CAN USUALLY HEAR THE WATER SLOSHING AROUND. I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THE DRAIN TUBES WERE CLOGGED, SO THEY UNCLOGGED THEM. I SPENT $350, AND 2 DAYS LATER, WHEN WE HAD A BIG RAIN, IT WAS LEAKING EVEN MORE THAN EVER. IT IS CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ARE WATER TESTING YET AGAIN (THIS MAKES THE 3RD TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR THIS ISSUE). I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL THIS MORNING, AND THEY STATED IT WAS THE BACK MOONROOF THAT IS NOT PROPERLY SEALED, SO THEY ARE TAKING IT OUT, AND GOING TO RESEAL EVERYTHING. THIS IS COSTING ME ANOTHER $900.

WAS TOLD IT WAS THE WAVE PLATE ON TRANSMISSION. YES, MY 2007 GMC ACADIA HAS 140,000 MILES ON IT. BUT THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED.. LUCKILY I WASN'T HIT.

THE SUNROOF LEAKS AND CAUSES ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING GEARS, RACK, AND BUSHINGS ARE DEFECTIVE CAUSING THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT DURING LOW SPEEDS. TRIED HAVING IT REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL, HOWEVER, 9 MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND NOBODY WANTS TO FIX IT OR ALLOWS FOR THE DEALER TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY FEATURE THAT SHOULD NEVER BE ACCEPTABLE! ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED AND IS GOING OUT AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURE MADE A FAULTY VEHICLE AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE PARTS AND THE LABOR NOT TO MENTION THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING TO FIGHT WITH THE DEALER AND GM TO GET THE PROBLEM CORRECTED.
