ANYTIME I TURN THEPOWER STEERING IS GONE AT LOW SPEEDS. I HAVE SEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND ALMOST EVERY ACADIA OWNER HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM.
PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY GOING ON AND OFF FOR OVER A YEAR, WHEN A PERSON WEIGHING OVER 100 LBS IS SEATED THERE. RECENTLY THE SERVICE AIR BAG HAS COME ON THE DIC, AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR IS ALWAYS OFF NOW WHEN ANYONE IS SEATED.
MAJOR SHUTTERING IN TRANSMISSION HARSH SHIFTING MAKING HARD TO ACCELERATE. *TR
UPON ENTERING THE HIGHWAY THE 2007 ACADIA WOULD NOT SHIFT EITHER INTO OR OUT OF 3RD GEAR, I'M NOT SURE. I COULD NOT TELL WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WHEN I DETERMINED THIS WAS NOT GOING TO CORRECT ITSELF I EXITED THE HIGHWAY. I'VE RECIEVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING THAT VEHICLES EQUIPED WITH 6T70 AND 6T75 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS ARE EXPERIENCING CRACKED OR FRACTURED WAVE PLATES. THIS CLEARLY IS A FAULTY PART AS IT IS OCCURRING ON MANY VERSIONS OF THIS VEHICLE AND HAS BEEN UPGRADED. I WAS LUCKY IN THAT IT WAS ONLY ME IN THE AUTO AND NOT THE ENTIRE FAMILY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. VERY DANGEROUS.
I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION WHEN MY VEHICLE HAD AROUND 61,000 MILES. VEHICLE WAS NOT GOING OVER 25 MPH AND SOMETIME IT DID NOT RUN AT ALL. I TOOK IT SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALER, ACTUALLY A TOWN TRUCK HAD TO TAKE IT BECAUSE IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT. IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT FOR ME TO FINALLY GET MY GMC ACADIA FIXED. THAT WAS IN 2015. TWO YEARS LATER I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION AGAIN, MY GMC HAS NOW 104,000 MILES. I WENT BACK TO THE GMC DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED BEFORE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT GUARANTEE HAD ENDED 2 MONTHS AGO AND I HAD TO PAY $1,021 TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED. I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HOOD LIFT AND THE HEADLIGHT SWITH IS NOT WORKING
WE HAD A SNOW STORM SO THE VEHICLE SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE ON HER WAY TO WORK CALLS AND TELLS ME THAT THE TRUCK STARTED TO DISPLAY ALL OF THE FOLLOWING, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITITRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. SHE LOST SPEED BUT NOTHING MAJOR HAPPEN. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WORK WHILE DRIVING HOME AT A STOP LIGHT THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE AND ALL OF THE SAME MESSAGES STARTED TO COME UP AGAIN, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITITRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE SAME THING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN WITH THE ENGINE SHAKING AND THE INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYING EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN. I CALLED A LOCAL GMC DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE BACK UP AGAIN AND THE TRUCK WAS FINE, ON THE FREEWAY THE SAME THING HAPPEN SO I DROVE ON THE FRONTAGE ROAD. THE DEALER COULD NOT SERVICE IT DUE TO 3 DAYS WORTH OF WORK TO BE DONE. I WAS TAKING IT HOME AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. WE FINALLY GOT IT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND IT CONTINUED TO SNOW, I WENT BACK TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE TRUCK AND THE BACK SEATS OF THE TRUCK WERE WET AND I COULD SEE WATER ON THE SECOND ROW. I AM HOPING THAT ITS NOT WIRING ISSUES DO TO ISSUES WITH WATER LEAKAGE FROM THE MOON ROOF OF OUR TRUCK THAT WE FOUND WHILE SEARCHING ON YOUTUBE. I HOPE GM RECALLS THE SUNROOF/ MOON ROOF ISSUES WITH THE LEAKAGE THAT MIGHT BE HARMING THE WIRES INSIDE THE TRUCK. *TR
I EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY ABOUT 25 MPH. I LOST POWER STEERING WHILE TURNING AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM GM AND I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REQUIRED MY VIN NUMBER TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE MY CAR WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND ASSURED ME THAT IT WAS. I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND AFTER THEY HAD IT FOR 4 HOURS, I RECEIVED A CALL STATING THEY WON'T COVER IT BECAUSE I EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE BY 10,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP THEN ATTEMPTED TO MAKE ME PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP. I HAVE OWNED MY CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND THEY ARE JUST NOW NOTIFYING ME ABOUT THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ONLY WILLING TO GIVE ME A 5% DISCOUNT OFF OF $1084. I HAVE EXPRESSED MY FEELING ON THIS AND EXPLAINED THAT I JUST RECEIVED THE LETTER AND THAT THE CAR IS 8 YEARS OLD, WHY DID IT TAKE THEM SO LONG TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMERS. THEY REALLY EXPECT A 8 YEAR OLD CAR TO HAVE LESS THEN THE 150,000 MILE LIMIT THEY SET. I ALSO EXPRESSED THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU LOSE ALL POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HIGHWAY, CAR DISPLAYS MESSAGE "SERVICE STABILITRACK ENGINE POWER REDUCED". CAR SLOWS DOWN AND SHAKES. TURNING CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN TURNING BACK ON CLEARS ISSUE, HOWEVER, HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY. VERY DANGEROUS WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAYS OR FREEWAYS. *JS
TRANSMISSION WAVE PLATE WENT OUT. VEHICLE CAME TO SUDDEN STOP IN MIDDLE OF BUSY INTERSECTION AND THEN WOULD NOT MOVE. MY WIFE ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AND WAS STRANDED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THESE CARS AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. *TR

THE VEHICLE START SOMKEING
WHILE TRAVELING ALONG A SPEEDY FREEWAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING MESSAGES, CHECK GAUGES, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITITRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. MY VEHICLE DROPPED FROM 70 MILES PER HOUR TO 45 MILES PER HOUR IN LESS THAN TEN SECONDS. WHEN STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE BEFORE I TURNED OFF HE CAR. TURNING OFF THE CAR RESETS THE PROBLEM, BUT IT CAME BACK FOUR MORE TIMES. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY GMC ACADIA ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS JUST TURNED OFF, THEN A FEW MINUTES AFTER SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE OTHER HEADLIGHT. I HAVE READ THAT IT HAS HAPPEN TO A FEW AND GOING TO SOME ELECTRIC ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE ACADIA WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CONNECTOR COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN DISCONNECTED, WHICH CAUSED THE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER PENETRATED THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE AN INSPECTION PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT (PASSENGER SIDE) STAYS ON. INITIALLY LIGHT WOULD STAY ON FOR A FEW MOMENTS. GRADUALLY WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT BECAME CONSTANT.GM DEALER SAYS IT'S A SENSOR AFFECTING AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT IN CRASH.DEALER WANTS MORE THAN $800.00 TO REPLACE SENSOR
AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO PHIL MOORE BUICK GMC ON 10/16/2014 AND PAYING $1341.10 FOR REPAIRS AFTER A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ON 10/20/2014 AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SLOW FROM 60 MILES PER HOUR TO 20 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON10/21/2015, I WAS TOLD THERE WERE ADDITIONAL REPAIRS NEEDED ON THE ENGINE AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $2789.18. BECAUSE REPAIRS HAD JUST BEEN COMPLETED ON THE SAME AREA 5 DAYS EARLIER, I CALLED THE GM CORPORATION AND I WAS INFORMED THAT REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER A RECALL AND THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THE RECALL AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. *TR
OUR 2007 GMC ACADIA BEGAN SLIPPING AND STUTTER STEPPING IN REVERSE. IF ON A HILL IT WAS VERY NOTICEABLE AND FELT LIKE YOU WERE SLIPPING ON ICE BEFORE REVERSE GEAR WOULD ENGAGE. THEN ON SLOW ACCELERATION FORM A TRAFFIC LIGHT SLIPPAGE WOULD OCCUR AND A ROUGH CHANGE IN THE GEAR EXCHANGE FOR NORMAL TRAFFIC SPEED. HAD IT DIAGNOSED AT A REPUTABLE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS A WARPED WAVE PLATE AND A NEW OR REBUILT TRANSMISSION WAS REQUIRED, THE REPAIR COST WITH WARRANTY WOULD BE 4,225.00. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE ACADIA. THEY ALSO DIAGNOSED IT AS A DEFECTIVE WAVE PLATE, RECOMMENDING A NEW TRANSMISSION OR AT LEAST TO REBUILD IT. NEW TRANSMISSION TO COST 5,890.00 THE WAVE PLATE ON THE 2007 ACADIA'SHAVE CAUSED A GREAT MANY PROBLEMS FOR OTHER OWNERS AND ITS REPORTED THEY WERE NOT PROPERLY HEAT TREATED WHEN MANUFACTURED. THEY BREAK APART AFTER JUST SO MANY ENGAGES CAUSED WHEN SHIFTING AND ALMOST ALWAYS SHORTLY AFTER THE 50,000 MILE WARRANTY. FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM REQUESTING ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS DUE TO A FAULTY PART THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME, BUT NEVER DID. WE REPAIRED IT AT THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP COSTING 4,225.23 CENTS WITH A 5 YEAR 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND THEN ACCELERATING THE TRANSMISSION WILL VIOLENTLY SLIP WHILE SHIFTING INTO A LOWER GEAR. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WE WERE DRIVING OUT OF TOWN ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DISENGAGED. COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THE IMPENDING FAILURE OTHER THAN SOME TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE EARLIER IN THE TRIP. TRANSMISSION DID NOT WORK AT ALL IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. HAD TO BE TOWED TO AN OUT OF TOWN SHOP AND RENT A CAR TO GET BACK HOME. REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (APPROX. $4,500) AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. SHOCKING THAT IT FAILED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. WE WERE ADVISE BY OUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO CONTACT GM BUT THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED US BACK. WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET THE REPAIRS DONE SO WE HAVE THE VEHICLE BACK. I JUST WANTED TO INCLUDE OUR INCIDENT ALONG WITH THE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS. WE WILL WARN OTHER ACADIA OWNERS WHO WE KNOW OF THE PROBLEM (ACADIAS ARE COMMON WHERE WE LIVE) AND THE MANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT IT HAS (BASED ON THE NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS AND SERVICE BULLETINS). *TR
I BOUGHT A NEW GMC ACADIA IN 2007. JANUARY 8, 2008 GMC DID A SOFTWARE UPGRADE TO MY TRANSMISSION. AT THAT POINT MY MILEAGE DROPPED ABOUT 6 MILES PER GALLON AND DID NOT SHIFT AS NICE AS ORIGINAL. IN LATE SUMMER OF 2014 I NOTICE THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOT RIGHT. ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT A COST OF $3,999 AT ONLY 123,228 MILES. THIS CAR WAS BUILT AND ADVERTISED TO PULL BOATS AND CAMPERS. I HAVE NOT PULLED ANYTHING EVER WITH THE CAR. IN MARCH OF 2015 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GMC THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE 2007 GMC ACADIA OWNERS IF THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR MUST BE UNDER 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 120,000 MILES. MY CAR WAS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD, BUT OVER ON MILEAGE BY 3,228 MILES. GMC WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF IT. IT IS PRETTY POOR WHEN A CAR COMPANY CAN NOT BUILD A $40,000 CAR WITH A TRANSMISSION THAT WOULD LAST. *TR
JUST PURCHASED 2007 GMC ACADIA 2 WEEKS AGO AND DISCOVERED A MAJOR SUNROOF LEAK. THE LEAK IS VERY BAD. THEN I FOUND OUT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE NOW I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON WITH A PROBLEM THAT I'M SURE WILL LEAD TO OTHER MAJOR PROBLEMS. *TR
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ON LABOR DAY. SUDDENLY MY GMC ACADIA TRANSMISSION STARTS SLIPPING AND I AM IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. MY VEHICLE STARTS SLOWING DOWN AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OF SPEED. LUCKY FOR ME AND MY SON I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT CREATING AN ACCIDENT. I LOOK ONLINE TO FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR MANY CARS WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. CORRODED FUSE BLOCK CAUSES THE SUV TO NOT START PERIODICALLY AND REQUIRES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE STARTING. I RESEARCHED AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH WINDSHIELD AND SUNROOF DRAINS. VERY EXPENSIVE FOR OWNER TO BARE COSTS TO REPAIR.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. I ONLY HAVE 70K MILES ON THE CAR AND WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. IT COST ME SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED! I AM THANKFUL THAT WHEN IT HAPPENED, MY HUSBAND WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT AND NOT GOING DOWN A FREEWAY WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR. AS I INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE WITH THE 2007 ACADIA'S I'M FINDING THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS A HUGE ISSUE! PLEASE GMC FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE RPMS INCREASED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE NOT TO SHIFT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING YOU TO LOSE ALL CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLES STEERING. WE ALMOST HIT TRAFFIC LIGHT AND HIT BY A SEMI ON THE INTERSTATE. ALSO TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WILL LOOSE ALL POWER WHEN YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED OR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT NEEDS TO BE OPENED. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 88,000 MILES ON IT AND IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE. *TR
2007 GMC ACADIA SLT-1 PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. AND THE DISPLAY IN THE DASH SAYS PASSENGER AIR BAG NEEDS SERVICING. I CONTACTED GMC AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO RECALLS LISTED FOR MY VEHICLE BASED ON MY VIN NUMBER BUT HAVE FOUND SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT SAYS THERE SHOULD BE AN OPEN RECALL BASED ON MY VEHICLES YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN MY 2007 GMC ACADIA SLT-2 STARTED TO LEAK. IT WAS LEAKING AT THE TOP OF THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR POST, DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG ON THE MOLDING NEAR THE WINDSHIELD, PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE FLOOR(BY THE GLOVE BOX) AND FROM MY FACTORY INSTALLED DVD PLAYER. IT CONTINUES TO LEAK AFTER RAIN.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WAVE PLATE DESTRUCTED RUINING TRANSMISSION. NO WARNING. TRAFFIC BEHIND WAS FORCED TO SLAM ON BRAKES AND SWERVE. CAUSED TRAFFIC JAM. VERY DANGEROUS. KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT BY GM. REFUSE TO RECALL. HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE THE 6T70/75 TRANSMISSION (ENCLAVE, SATURN, SOME FORDS). *TR
ON HIGHWAY, TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO BUSY HIGHWAY AND DUE TO HIGH ENGINE REVVING AND NOT SHIFTING HAD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER 45 MPH. MERGING WAS DANGEROUS AND HAD TO DRIVE UNDER VERY BUSY CONDITIONS AND LEAVE THE HIGHWAY QUICKLY. DID SO LUCKILY AND RETURNED HOME SAFELY. GM HAS NEVER CONTACTED ME REGARDING THESE AND I CONSIDER THIS VEHICLE UNSAFE WITH VERY LITTLE WARNING ABOUT WHAT APPEAR TO BE 2 MANUFACTURER-KNOWN (GMC) ISSUES REGARDING TIMING CHAIN STRETCH AND FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS RIGHT AT ABOUT THE TIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTIES EXPIRE. WE ARE JUST OVER THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION OF 100,000 MILES ON POWERTRAIN AND ARE STARING AT SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE AND A CAR WE JUST DON'T TRUST ANYMORE. *TR
TWICE, IN A MATTER OF 24 HOURS, AS WE WERE PULLING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY, THE POWER STEERING STOPPED ABRUPTLY. FORTUNATELY WE WERE MOVING SLOWLY IN OUR DRIVEWAY AT THE TIME. FOLLOWING EACH INCIDENT THE CAR WAS PUT IN PARK AND THERE WAS A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. JUST AS QUICKLY AS BOTH PROBLEMS OCCURRED, THEY DISAPPEARED. WE HAVE ALSO BEEN DEALING WITH WIRING ISSUES. SOMETIMES THE SPEAKERS WORK SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. SOMETIMES THE WARNING SYSTEMS (I.E BACK-UP ALARM, KEYS IN IGNITION, LOW FUEL LEVEL, DOOR AJAR, ETC.) SOUNDS AND OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND EXCESSIVE FORCE ON THE STEERING WHEEL WAS REQUIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

WAS DRIVING AND TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING CAME ON AND WAS SHOWING I WAS LOSING PRESSURE SO SLOWED DOWN IN TIME WHERE THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. VALVE STEM WAS CRACKED AND BROKE OFF. TOOK IN TO GET FIXED AND HE FOUND THAT TWO OTHERS WERE CRACKED SO THEY COULD GO BAD AS WELL. LUCKILY WAS NOT ON HIGHWAY WHEN TIRE DEFLATED. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT BURNING FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THAT WIRES WERE BURNING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,060.

SO WE TOOK IT TO ROBINSON'S & THEY TURNED THE ROTARS & ROTATED MY TIRES & WHEN I GOT IT BACK IT RODE LIKE A DUNE BUGGY. TOOK IT BACK & SAID IT NEEDED NEW STRUTS CAUSE "SOMETHING" STAYED IN A LOCKED POSITION OR ANOTHER. SO THEN WE GOT IT BACK & THE SCRUBBING NOISE/FEELING CAME BACK WITH THE BRAKES AGAIN SO THEN THEY FINALLY JUST PUT NEW BRAKES ON IT & SO FAR SO GOOD $1000 LATER! NOW, THIS MORNING I WAS IN A DRIVE THRU & IT FELT LIKE MY CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL WHEN I TRIED TO GO FORWARD & I HAD TO LOOK TO SEE IF I MOVED THE GEARS & THEN I NOTICED THE ORANGE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IT BARELY WANTED TO GO & THE RPMS JUST KEPT GETTING HIGHER & HIGHER & IT WAS STRUGGLING TO MOVE SO I PULLED OVER & HAD ONSTAR RUN DIAGNOSTICS & CODES PO700 & PO716 POWER TRAIN DETECTED MALFUNCTION TRANSMISSIONS & TRANSMISSION NOT PERFORMING AS EXPECTED!! I NOTICED AFTER SHE RAN THE TEST MY CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT CHANGED BACK TO NORMAL WHILE RUNNING SO I CUT IT OFF & BACK ON & IT DROVE OK BACK HOME BUT NOW WE HAVE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT & I'M JUST SICK TO MY STOMACH OVER THIS! IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA BE A BROKEN WAVE PLATE & ENDING UP RESULTING IN A NEW TRANSMISSION I CAN NOT AFFORD!!! I KNOW IT'S 2007 BUT WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE & IN GREAT CONDITION I WOULDN'T THINK IT SHOULD HAVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS ESPECIALLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION!! WHILE ROUNDING A HIGHWAY OFF RAMP, POWER STEERING GOT EXTREMELY STIFF. THERE WERE NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE SYSTEM PRIOR. I GOT HOME, CHECKED THE FLUID, AND IT WAS FULL. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO MY LOCAL GMC DEALER TO DISCUSS PROBLEM AND REPAIRS. THE SERVICE WRITER STATED "WE KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING SYSTEMS ON THESE VEHICLES, AND THEY TYPICALLY FAIL IN THE 70 TO 90 THOUSAND MILE RANGE." THEN THEY WANTED $2000 FOR REPAIRS. REPAIRS WHICH ARE GETTING DONE CHEAPER AT MY LOCAL GARAGE. MY PROBLEM WITH THIS, IS THAT GM KNOWS THERE IS A SAFETY DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, OTHER THAN MAKE PEOPLE FEEL THAT THEY HAVE TO SPEND HUGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO FIX. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THIS IS THE SAME ACTION THE COMPANY TOOK IN THE IGNITION ISSUE THEY ARE CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH. YES, I AM ANGRY AT GM FOR NOT BACKING THEIR PRODUCT, BUT THAT IS NOT WHY I AM WRITING TO YOU. I AM WRITING TO YOU, BECAUSE I AM A FIRST RESPONDER, AND SEE FIRST HAND WHAT CAN HAPPENS WITH SAFETY ISSUES TO VEHICLES. WHAT IF THIS ISSUE HAPPENED TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS LITTLE ABOUT CARS, OTHER THAN HOW TO FUEL AND DRIVE THEM SAFELY? RECENTLY I NOTICED ONE OF MY DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WAS NOT WORKING SO WHEN I SCHEDULED MY VEHICLE FOR SERVICE I ASKED THE GM DEALER TO REPLACE THE LIGHT. UPON THEIR INVESTIGATION THE DEALER REPORTED THAT THE HEADLIGHT WIRES HAD FUSED OR MELTED TOGETHER AND THAT IT WOULD AN ESTIMATED $800 TO FIX! THEY ALSO MENTIONED THE OTHER LAMP WAS STARTING TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. I WAS MORE CONCERNED THAT THE WIRES LAMP/LIGHT WIRES WERE "FUSED" TOGETHER AND SHORTING OUT! THIS SEAMS TO BE MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE RISK OF FIRE OR LOSS OF BOTH HEADLIGHTS! FURTHERMORE, IT IS OUTRAGEOUS FOR A REPLACEMENT OF A DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT TO BE $800 DOLLARS! CAN NHTSA PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND HELP RESOLVE THIS SAFETY HAZARD AND POOR PRODUCT PERFORMANCE AND LOOK AT THE RISK ANALYSIS THAT WAS PERFORMED? *TR
WATER LEAKING IN CAR CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY AND UNSAFE CONDITIONS AS IT DRIPS ALL OVER, DOWN THE WINDSHIELD, AND OUT OF THE LIGHTS AND DVD MONITOR. *TR
THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL KEEPS WARNING THAT THE SYSTEM IS INOPERATIVE. *TR
2007 GMC ACADIA WITH 108,000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO SAFE MODE AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR. CODE GENERATED WAS THE "SHIFT SOLENOID STUCK OPEN". TRANSMISSION SHOP STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL TOTALLY FAIL SOON AND NEEDED TO BE REBUILD AT A COST OF $4500. THE TRANSMISSION GUY SAID THAT I WAS LUCKY TO GET OVER 100,000 MILES BECAUSE THEY USUALLY FAIL BETWEEN 80-90,000 MILES. HE STATED IT WAS A HORRIBLE DESIGN FOR A TRANSMISSION AND INADEQUATE PARTS WERE USED INSIDE. NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. RESEARCHING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. GM'S ATTITUDE IS THAT THE WARRANTY IS UP AND IT'S YOUR PROBLEM, SO YOU MUST PAY FOR OUR DESIGN FLAWS. *TR
