These vehicles have a rampant and long-standing reputation for developing leaks in their plastic fuel tanks. Virtually all of these vehicles eventually develop leaks, which cause release of flammable fuel vapors and raw gasolene releases. Why isn't there a recall on these faulty fuel tanks? The manufacturer only provided a short term solution for a limited period of time that is no longer available for vehicles that still have the leaking tanks. My vehicle now has a bad fuel tank leak that causes emissions test failure and leaks liquid gasolene. Surely a safety recall should be issued?
My vehicle has developed a leak in the plastic fuel tank at the junction of the fill hose connection and the body of the tank that is causing release of flammable vapors and liquid gasoline underneath the vehicle and causing failure of emissions systems. These vehicles have a rampant and long-standing reputation for developing leaks in their plastic fuel tanks at this location which cannot be repaired by any normal means available to a consumer. Virtually all of these vehicles eventually develop leaks, which cause release of flammable fuel vapors and raw gasolene releases. Why isn't there a recall on these faulty fuel tanks? The manufacturer only provided a short-term solution for a limited period of time that is no longer available for vehicles that still have the leaking tanks. The condition is dangerous.
Went to store bought food Left store and car started chugging and losing power When I got home my son said he could smell exhaust and it sounds like the catalytic converter
Passenger front seat belt locks automatically as soon as you buckle up. It will not unlock, the only way to fix it is to unbuckle and re buckle then it locks again. Very uncomfortable to ride in the front Passenger seat.
The contact owns a 2002 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear subframe had fractured and detached. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
There are previously fixed recalls starting to pop up one at a time if they were fixed they wouldnt be back causing problems can someone check into this and let me know something I drive a 02 gmc envoy slt 4x4 4.2l. The mileage is unknown due to instrument cluster not working on the DIC settings.I purchased under the pretenses it only had 188000 miles but ive seen higher milage on some shop records also the Center console lid dont latch and other things I cant think of at the moment
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT SATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED TO SECURE THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE SHIFTER LINKAGE BUSHING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, AN ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO AT TIMES, FUEL WAS SEEN ON THE PAVEMENT UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONNECTION LINE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,000. INVALID VIN.
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS NO POWER. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR UNLOCK. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AND STAY SHUT. THIS ALL HAPPENED WHEN I WAS GETTING MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND NOW I CAN'T USE THE CAR BECAUSE MY KIDS COULD FALL OUT. IN THE OTHER VEHICLES IT WAS THE FAULTY LATCH. THIS HAPPENED TO OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL. NUMBER 05V494000.

SEVERE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN VEHICLE,EVERYTHING STOPPED WORKING ON IT!!!! VEHICLE SHUT DOWN IN A MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION, I REPLACED TRANSMISSION 2 TIMES AS WELL!!!!HAD NO LIGHTS,TURNING SIGNALS,NO HEAT HEAT THEN THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED COMPLETELY NOTHING JUST DEAD!!! DRIVING AT NIGHT AND HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM AND THEN THEY'LL SHUT OFF.
THE STEERING IS A LITTLE SPORADIC AT SPEEDS 70 OR HIGHER OR CHACHI.THERE IS A LOT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING MECHANISM YOU HAVE TO HOLD IT WITH BOTH HANDS TO TRY TO GET SOME TYPE OF CORRECTION IN THE IN THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE. I CAN'T UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS OR SOMETHING I I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND HIT ON BROADSIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVER FRONT CORNER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THEY SAY SERVICE SOON. THE SEAT BELT HURT ME AS WELL. IT DID NOT LOCK. I WAS INJURED WITH A TORN LABRUM, BACK AND NECK INJURIES. HEAD TOO. I WAS MOVING AND I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THEN PUSHED INTO ANOTHER CAR. I WAS ON A CITY STREET. 14 MILE NEAR MOUNT 7-22
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME ON HWY/US 151 GOING APPROX. 55-60 MPH (65 MPH ZONE) WHEN I HIT A DEER WHICH CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL AND SLAMMED INTO THE START OF A GUARDRAIL AT NO LESS THAN 45 MPH BRINGING MY 2002 GMC ENVOY TO A COMPLETE STOP, AT MOST 2-3 FEET FROM INITIAL IMPACT TO BE EXACT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. FRONT DASH NOR SIDE IMPACT BAGS, NOTHING. N I HIT HARD. LUCKILY I WASN'T SERIOUSLY INJURED ONLY MINOR BRUISING AND QUITE SORE FROM WHIPLASH AND BEING THROWN INTO THE DOOR AN A BIT SHAKEN N LUCKILY HAD NO PASSENGERS. AS FOR MY ENVOY, IT IS A TOTAL LOSS AND UNFORTUNATELY I ONLY HAD LIABILITY INSURANCE SO NOW I'M SCREWED WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND AFTER ALL OTHER PROBLEMS I'VE FACED WITH MY GMC ENVOY I WILL NEVER OWN A GM AGAIN. TAKE GM PRODUCTS TO THE DUMP.
I BEGAN TO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY HEADLIGHTS, LOW AND HIGH BEAMS, FLICKERING OFF AND ON AT RANDOM FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS UNTIL MY BRAKE LIGHTS STARTED TO DO THE EXACT SAME 7 MONTHS AGO AND NOW THEY HAVE QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER! I HAVE TAKEN THIS SUV TO 4 DIFFERENT SHOPS NOW, AND NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. THE LAST MECHANIC WHO ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE ISSUE, SAYS HE FOUND AN OLDER RECALL ON THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURED TAG LIGHTS BEING MALFUNCTIONED TO THE POINT IT CAUSES ISSUES WITH THE FRONT AND BACK LIGHTS. THE MAN SHOWN ME THE INFORMATION ON THIS RECALL, SEEING THE PART # IS LISTED ON THERE, I COMPARED IT TO MINE AND A NEIGHBOR'S 2002 ENVOY; WHICH BOTH OF OUR ENVOYS HAVE THESE MALFUNCTIONED PARTS. GM HAS NOT CONTACTED US BACK, AND WE'RE AT A LOSS BECAUSE IT'S A PART NEEDED FROM THEM DIRECTLY. WE HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY ENVOY OWNERS ON A WEB FORUM, AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS MAYBE THOUSANDS OF ENVOYS OUT THERE WITH THESE SAME ISSUES, CAUSING ACCIDENTS ON THE ROAD WAY TOO OFTEN! IT'S DANGEROUS, AND NOBODY WILL HELP WITH THIS IRRITATING ISSUE!
MY RIGHT WINDOW PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP SO I TOOK IT TO A SHOP. HE TOOK THE PIECE WHERE I CONTROL THE WINDOW OFF AND IT HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS ALL MELTED & CORRODED I HAVE PICTURES
HEAD LIGHTS WILL ALL AT ONCE GO OFF WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I'VE REPLACED THE HDM RELAY AND IT WORKED FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEN IT DONE IT AGAIN.

WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVES FORWARD WITH A SLIGHT ROCKING MOTION
STRONG GASOLINE ODOR. RECEIVED A NOTICE IN 2016 REGARDING THIS. NOTICE SAID NO ACTION REQUIRED IF THERE WAS NOT GASOLINE SMELL. THE ODOR WAS NOTICED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. CALLED THE DEALER THAT SENT THE NOTICE WHO TOLD ME IT EXPIRED! THEY NEVER SAID THE REPAIR WOULD EXPIRE, BUT TO IGNORE IT UNLESS I SMELLED GASOLINE. SO NOW GASOLINE FUMES ARE NOT DANGEROUS??
I CLOSED THE REAR GLASS WINDOW HATCH AND THE GLASS EXPLODED. THE SHATTERED GLASS CAUSED CUTS AND ABRASIONS ON MY EXPOSED SKIN. MY SUV WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AT THE TIME. THE SECURITY CAMERAS AT MY HOME TAPED THE INCIDENT AS IT OCCURRED.
1: PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIKES TO SUFFOCATE MY PASSENGERS UNTIL THEY RELEASE RHE SEAT BELT AND REBUCKLE. 2: BOTH DIM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, CHECKED RELAYS, FUSES, AND BULBS NOTHING HAS WORKED. THEN FOUND OUT MY 2 BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OUT ALONG WITH THE DIMS AND NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM.
AIR CONDITIONING WON'T BLOW OUT VENTS,AND SUNROOF WON'T CLOSE ALL THE WAY
ON THIS MODEL OF TRAILBLAZERS AND ENVOYS THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING LINE CRACKING ON THE BACK SIDE IF THE STEERING SHAFT, CAUSING FLUID TO SPRAY OUT AND IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. WHEN THIS LINE BROKE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH MY 4 KIDS IN THE VEHICLE, AND SHE WAS BARELY ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC TO A SAFE SPOT, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THESE SUV'S AND FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.

MY REAR LIFT GATE DOES NOT LOCK WITH OR WITHOUT THE KEY FOB NOR WITH THE POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON. THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO LOCK MY DOORS IT SEEMS TO BE A POOR DESIGN AND A SAFETY FACTOR. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE BECAUSE ANYONE CAN OPEN THE LIFT GATE AND ROB HER OR EVEN MYSELF.
THERE IS A LARGE HOLE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FRAME. RUSTED RIGHT THROUGH AND IS UNSAFE

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO OFFER ASSISTANCE IN REPLACING THE REAR HATCH WINDOW. I WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AND THE RIGHT FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM SEPERATED FROM THE STEERING! IT LEFT ME UNABLE TO STEER OR CONTRAL THE VEHICLE. TIRES ARE DRY ROTTING AT 30,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DRAINING THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT HAD REPLACED THE BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN GMC DEALER WAS CONTACTED BUT FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL POSSIBLY NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED AND WAS DONE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V289000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
VEHICLE HAS A INLET FUEL LEAK, A KNOWN ISSUE ON THE GMC ENVOY XL 4X4, BUT HAS PUT A 150,000 MILE CAP ON THE RECALL WHICH I FIND NEGLIGENT AS THE ISSUE STILL EXIST REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE, JUST SEEMS LIKE A WAY TO WORM OUT OF RESPONSIBILITY.
WHILE IN MOTION ONLY, A ENGINE LIGHT ACCOMPANIED BY A REDUCED ENGINE POWER ENGAGES MAKING THE VEHICLE UNMANAGEABLE TO RESPONSE AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL.

ALSO MY HEADLIGHTS GO ON AND OFF I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE BULBS THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE AND NO ITS NOT. ON MY WAY TO WORK THIS MORNING AT 530AM THEY STOPPED AND HAVE NOT TURNED BACK ON CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER AND NOW MISSING WORK TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF JUNE AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS IT'S GETTING WORSE. I CAN'T DRIVE 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND HAVE MY HEADLIGHTS JUST STOP WORKING. I ALSO SMELL GASOLINE INSIDE MY VEHICLE FREQUENTLY.

THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BRACKET WAS ALSO COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THE FAILURE WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 01V260000 (SUSPENSION). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED, BUT NOT ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY ENVOY AND THE WIPERS WORKED MOST OF THE WAY HOME, THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING . THEN THE DRIVER SIDE WOULD NOT GO DOWN WHEN SHUT OFF. NOW WHEN I TURN THEM ON THEY HOP UP AND GO RIGHT BACK DOWN AND DO NOT WORK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED WHERE IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 206,000.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED NOT TO FILL THE TANK ABOVE HALF. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 GMC ENVOY 360. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A MANUFACTURER SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT (CAMPAIGN NUMBER 07099) FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHO INDICATED THAT IT WAS NOT IN PRODUCTION. THE CONTACT WAITED AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD PRODUCE THE PART TO SUPPLY TO THE DEALER FOR THE MANUFACTURER'S REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL PARKED FROM JANUARY 2016 AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO DISCLOSURE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS MAY BE IN PRODUCTION TO RECEIVE THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE.
