WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED DRIVER HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. CONSUMER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW BROKE ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE ELECTRONIC MIRRORS RE-ADJUST WITHOUT WARNING. THE MIRRORS SHOULD MAINTAIN THE LAST SETTING, BUT REQUIRE RE-ADJUSTMENT EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. OCCASIONALLY THE MIRRORS RE-ADJUST WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CHANGE LANES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER TWICE FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MIRRORS AND MADE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE ELECTRICAL UNIT. THE PROBLEM WAS ONLY ALLEVIATED TEMPORARILY BY THE REPAIRS AND THE MIRRORS BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING AGAIN A YEAR AGO. *NM... THE MIRRORS WILL SELF ADJUST THE SETTINGS. WHILE DRIVING THE CONTACT LOOKED IN THE MIRRORS TO CHANGE LANES AND THEY WERE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. HAD TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST THE MIRRORS PRIOR TO CHANGING LANES. ALSO, WHEN SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF, AND RESTARTED IT, HAD TO ADJUST THE MIRRORS. THE MIRRORS WILL NOT HOLD THE SET ADJUSTMENT. IN ADDITION, THE TAILGATE COULD ONLY BE OPENED WITH THE REMOTE, THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO OPEN THE TAILGATE. IN A SITUATION WHERE THE CONTACT'S ONLY EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE WAS FROM THE INSIDE, COULD NOT OPEN MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE. *AK
WHEN DRIVING THE BACK HATCH MAKES A POPPING NOISE AND REAR HATCH OPENS. *NM
MY VEHICLE IS A 2002 GMC ENVOY. I HAVE HAD 3 INCIDENTS WITH THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE SINCE DECEMBER 2003. THE NEWEST FEATURE WITH THESE VEHICLES, AS WITH THE CHEVEROLET TRAILBLAZERS IS THE AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM ALLOWS THE DRIVER TO PUT THIS LEVER IN AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND WILL SWITCH TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE WHEN ROAD CONDITIONS ARE A NECESSITY FOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE. MY VEHICLE'S 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM BROKE IN DECEMBER 2003. IT WAS REPORTED TO ME FROM ALASKA SALES AND SERVICE WHO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE THAT THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. THEN THERE WAS A LEAK OF SOME FLUID UNDER THE VEHICLE NOTICED APRIL THROUGH MAY 2004. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP AT ALASKA SALES/SERVICE AGAIN AND A TRANSFER CASE WAS REPLACED IN THE VEHICLE. COME WINTER IN 2004, MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE NEEDED TO BE USED AGAIN DUE TO WEATHER IN ALASKA. MY VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A MAJOR CHECKUP ON DEC 14TH, 2004 AND I WAS TOLD THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. I HAD THE VEHICLE BACK IN THE SHOP WITHIN 2 WEEKS FOR A LOUD NOISE IN THE 4 WHEEL SYSTEM. AGAIN THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP AND ANOTHER TRANSFER CASE WAS REPLACED. MY MAJOR COMPLAINT TO THE FEDERAL CONSUMER COMPLAINT SYSTEM IS THAT THIS VEHICLE IS A 2002, AND THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM MORE THAN 3 TIMES UNDER THE 3 YEAR NEW CAR WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT THE GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION SHOULD BUY THIS VEHICLE BACK OR PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE FOR ME DUE TO THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD TO ENDURE. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING A LAWYER IN ALASKA THAT WILL SUPPORT THE AUTOMOBILE LEMON LAW. *JB
CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THE REPAIRS ON THE BRAKE LIGHT RECALL DONE SINCE THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERS IN THE CONSUMER'S AREA. *AK
2002 GMC ENVOY HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENT FLUCTUATES AND/OR STOP WORKING (LOW BEAMS ONLY) WHILE DRIVING CAR AT NIGHT. OCCURS AT ALL HEADLIGHT SETTINGS, AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY/NIGHT, ALMOST EVERY TIME THE HEADLIGHTS ARE USED AND DOES NOT RESOLVE ITSELF UPON TRYING CAR ON/OFF. PROBLEM STARTED AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED, APPROXIMATELY 2005. GNC DEALERSHIP AND INDEPENDENT AUTO MECHANICS UNABLE TO DETERMINE SOURCE PROBLEM DUE TO INTERMITTENT OF PROBLEM. PROBLEM CONTINUED UNTIL 2010 WHEN LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FINALLY WENT OUT COMPLETELY AND NO LONGER WORKED AT ALL. FIX WAS HEADLIGHT MODULE. HEADLIGHT MODULE POSSIBLY DAMAGED BY VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS COMING ELSEWHERE IN VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OLD PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. PART WAS REPLACED AT STUART GMC IN STUART, FLORIDA. THE CONSEQUENCE IS NO HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT SO UNABLE TO DRIVE CAR AT NIGHT OR WORST, THE DANGER OF THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING (WHICH HAPPENED ALL THE TIME) AND DRIVING WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS TO GET TO YOUR DESTINATION (WITHOUT PAYING FOR A TOWTRUCK) CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR A CITATION. ANOTHER CONSEQUENCE IS IT DECREASES VALUE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE HONESTLY SOLD WHILE THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION EXISTS SO I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH THE CAR AND CANNOT FINANCIALLY BUY A NEW CAR WITHOUT SELLING THIS CAR. *TR
FOR I HAVE A 2002 GMC ENVOY THAT IS HAVING BRAKE PROBLEMS AND THE ANSWER THAT I WAS GETTING FROM THE DEALER WAS THAT MY BRAKES WERE LOW, WELL I CHANGED THEM AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE, FOR AT TIMES WHEN HOLDING DOWN THE BRAKE THE PEDAL WILL STOP AND THEN DROP ABOUT AN EIGHT OF AN INCH ( AS IF THERE IS AIR IN THE LINES) AND I DON'T KNOW IF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE THOUGHT OF AS DANGEROUS, BUT I HAVE THEM TOO. *JB
TRANSFER CASE( 4-WHEEL DRIVE) WASN'T ENGAGING. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALERSHIP, WHO INDICATED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO INDICATED THAT THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. A WEEK LATER WHEN THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT WHEN THE PART WILL ARRIVE THEY WERE INFORMED NOT UNTIL MARCH DUE TO THE PART BEING BEING RE DESIGNED. THE PART # WAS 12590220.*AK
WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. *AK *NM
I NOTICED THE BRAKES PULSING BADLY ON MY 2002 GMC ENVOY AT 27,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT BRAKES ARE COVERED UP TO 21,000 MILES AND ROTORS COVERED TO 24,000. ALL 4 ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. I GUESS THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE ASSUMED THAT A WARRANTY OF 3 YEARS OR 36,000 MILES MEANT THAT EVERYTHING WAS COVERED. HOW CONVENIENT IT IS FOR THE WARRANTY COVERAGE ON BRAKES AND ROTORS EXPIRES PRIOR TO THE 3 YEAR 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. THAT TELLS ME THAT GM KNOWS WHEN THE CHEAPER PARTS THEY ARE USING ARE GOING TO FAIL. THE 3 YEAR 36,000 WARRANTY IS VERY MISLEADING. IN MY 27 YEARS OF DRIVING, I'VE NEVER SEEN ROTOR AND BRAKE PAD FAILURE AT 27,000 MILES. GOOD BRAKE PARTS ARE VITAL IN THE SAFETY OF A VEHICLE, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY ARE ALLOWED TO USE INFERIOR MATERIALS. THANK GOD MY PREGNANT WIFE DIDN'T HAVE AND ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. *AK
WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK THERE IS A VERY NOTICEABLE TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. THE TICKING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE VEHICLE WARMS OR FOR A MAX. OF 3-5 MIN. ACCELERATING THE ENGINE WILL NOT STOP THE TICKING. INQUIRIES REVEALED OTHER ENVOY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT IS THE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. REPLY NEEDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *AK
EXTERIOR POWER REAR VIEW MIRRORS WILL NOT STAY IN SAME POSITION. THE MIRRORS ARE TO AUTOMATICALLY MOVE INTO PROPER POSITION WHEN THE KEY FOB IS DEPRESSED. MAJORITY OF THE TIME THE MIRRORS STOP IN THE WRONG POSITION.*AK
DRIVING ON ROAD AND HEARD LOUD CLATTERING NOISE AND THEN ENGINE DIED. LOST ALL POWER! BROUGHT TO DEALER BY FLATBED AND FOUND CAMSHAFT BROKE OFF DUE TO LOSS OF OIL. DEALER IS SUPPOSEDLY FIXING PROBLEM. 35,000 MILES ON IT. JUST BOUGHT IN MARCH OF 04. WE THINK IT IS ENGINE DEFECT. *JB
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. TAKEN VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A LEAK AT THE FILLER PIPE AND FUEL TANK WHICH ALLOWED FUEL AND VAPORS TO ESCAPE. DEALER WILL REPAIR FOR $900.00. *AK *NM
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER TO SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK
COMPUTER THAT ACTIVATES THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS INOPERABLE. IT GOES INTO SLEEP MODE AND CONSUMER DOESN'T KNOW THAT HE IS IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, WHO UPDATED THE COMPUTER. IT SEEMS TO BE FINE. *AK
WATER PUMP FAILURE AT 47000 MILES ON A 2002 GMC ENVOY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 73 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON HEADLIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED. *AK
AFTER BEING STRUCK HEAD ON BY A SEMI TRAILER AT 40 MPH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.*AK
ONE OF THE SEATS LATCH HOOKS WAS SEWN ON UPSIDE DOWN. *NM COSCO ALPHA OMEGA (MODEL#22155HMR) *TC *JB
FAILURE OF ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM AND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. *JB
WHEN CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT IN THE FRONT AND REAR AT 40 MPH THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER AN DPASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES. VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THEN, DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK RUPTURED CAUSING A LEAK. THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO PRIOR REPAIR ON THE FUEL TANK OR REMOVAL OF THE FUEL TANK. THE OWNER HAS CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO EXPRESS THAT THE DESIGN OF FUEL TANK WAS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. *SC. ....*AK
TAILLIGHT BULB HOLDER IS FAILING. HAVE BEEN THROUGH THREE. WHEN A PARTS MAN AT KELLY CHEVROLET WAS ASKED ABOUT THIS, HIS RESPONSE WAS BUY THEM IN BULK????? CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE. WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS(FILE # 1-270417936) I NOTICE ALOT OF ENVOYS ON THE ROAD WITH BRAKELIGHTS OUT. I THINK IT WARRANTS A REDESIGN AND RECALL.*AK
FUEL TANK HAS LEAK AT JOINT WHERE FILLER PIPE AND TANK JOIN ALLOWING FUEL AND VAPORS TO ESCAPE. SMELLED FUEL INSIDE THE GARAGE. THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THE WELD HAD FAILED, THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT THEY HAD REPLACED THE FUEL TANK FOR 2 OTHER ENVOYS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THERE WAS NO PRIOR REPAIR ON THE FUEL TANK OR REMOVAL OF THE FUEL TANK.
AFTER READING THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE, I CHECK AND MY REAR BREAK LIGHT BULB DRIVER SIDE WAS BURNED OUT. PLEASE, MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS RECALL!! I HAVE A 2002 ENVOY SLT THAT IS AT 40K MILES. ALSO, MY REAR DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW MECHANISM UNEXPECTEDLY BROKE. SOME CABLE INSIDE. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE $500 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. CAN YOU SAY HIGHWAY ROBBERY? VEHICLE HAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK, AND FUEL IS LEAKING AT THE FILLER NECK WHERE THE NECK ATTACHES TO THE FUEL TANK. OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO WAS NOT WILLING TO ASSIST THE OWNER. *AK
THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET TO 55 MPH VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD AND THEN ROLLED OVER. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK *SC
WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND TURNING TO THE LEFT, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SELECTOR SWITCH TWICE FOR THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATED TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT AROUND 29,415 MILES. TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, AND LEAVING HIM STRANDED. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACE THE SUN GEAR, AND STATED THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITHIN THE GMC ENVOY. *AK *JB
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *AK
DT: 2002 GMC ENVOY XL - THE CONSUMER IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE LARGER GMC VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED REGARDING THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED THE VEHICLE STARTING SLOWING DOWN AND LOCKED UP. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER. THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKES WERE REPAIRED ON THE TRUCK AT A COST OF $1400. THE CONSUMER HAD THE REPAIR DONE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE ENVOY FOR THE ABS. *JB
THE ENGINE OF MY 2002 GMC ENVOY HAS STALLED TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, BOTH TIME JEOPARDIZING MY SAFETY. THE FIRST STALLED HAPPENED WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AT NIGHT. IT STALLED AND STOPPED WHILE I WAS IN THE ONCOMING LANE ON A BEND WHERE TRAFFIC SPEED IN 75 MPH. LUCKILY NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAME BEFORE I PUSHED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE FINALLY STARTED AFTER ABOUT 10 IGNITION ATTEMPTS. THE SECOND STALL HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE I WAS DRIVE AT 65 MPH. THE ENGINE JUST SHUT DOWN. I STEERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE STARTED AFTER I LET IT REST A MINUTE. 'VE TOOK THE CAR TO A GMC SHOP AFTER EACH STALL. THE FIRST DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING, THAT IT WAS PROBABLY BAD GAS. THE SECOND DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE SITUATION SO THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. *AK
MY ENVOY WAS PUT INTO PARK WHEN I WENT TO LOCK THE FRONT DOOR. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND TOOK TWO STEPS, IT SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND WENT ROLLING DOWN (VERY SLIGHT GRADE) THE DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE. I JUMPED IN TO TRY AND STOP IT BEFORE HITTING NEIGHBORS CARS. I GRABBED THE STEERING WHEEL TO PULL MYSELF IN, WHICH MADE THE ENVOY TURN TO MISS ON CAR, THEN IT THREW ME OUT, ALMOST RUNNING OVER BOTH OF MY LEGS WITH THE FRONT WHEEL. IT THEN PROCEEDED TO HIT A SATELLITE DISH, AND AIR CONDITIONING UNIT (WHICH ALL BUT RIPPED THE DOOR OFF THE HINGES.) IT THEN FINALLY STOPPED AFTER RUNNING THROUGH A FENCE AND IT RESTED WITH ONE WHEEL IN THE AIR ON A MOUND OF DIRT. *TR
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILES PER HOUR, WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE STALLED. NO CRANK AND THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. PANEL LIGHTS OPERATIONAL, ABS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AWAITING REPAIRS.*AK
BOTH POWER EXTERIOR MIRRORS MOVED WHILE DRIVING. THEY WOULD NOT STAY IN PLACE. THIS CONDITION CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING DRIVING OR PARKING. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*AK *BF *NM
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH PULLING A 3000 LB. BOAT AND TRAILER. I FELT SOMETHING CHANGE IN THE FRONT END AS THOUGH THE ALIGNMENT CHANGED AS I WAS DRIVING. I EXITED THE HIGHWAY, AND AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES A VERY LOUD POP CAME FROM THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WELL. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT THE UPPER BALL JOINT HAD COMPLETELY SEPARTATED FROM THE UPPER CONTROL ARM. THIS APPARENTLY OCCURRED AFTER THE BOLT THAT SECURES THE BALL JOINT IN THE UPPER CONTROL ARM EITHER SHEARED, FELL OUT, OR WAS NEVER THERE BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO DAMAGE, AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AWAITING PARTS. MORE SPECIFICALLY, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THE UPPER CONTROL ARM AND UPPER BALL JOINT.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND IT HIT A GUARD RAIL, FLIPPED OVER SIX TIMES, AND LANDED UPRIGHT. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED OUT BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *AK

REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. SINCE THE LAST REPAIR THE DOOR LOCK WAS DEFECTIVE AGAIN. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME REPAIR. CURRENTLY, PASSENGER'S REAR DOOR WAS DEFECTIVE AS WELL. *AK
MY FRONT TIRE HAD A LEAK AND WAS DOWN TO THE RIM. I WAS ON A LEVEL SERVICE AND AN IDEAL SPOT FOR ONE TO CHANGE A TIRE. I READ THE SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS SEVERAL TIMES AND FOLLOWED THEM EXACTLY, BUT COULD NOT GET THE SPARE TIRE OFF OF THE SUV. THE SECONDARY LOCK WOULD NOT COME OFF. I ENDED UP CALLING AAA TO COME OUT AND TRY AND HELP. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS ON OTHER ENVOYS/TRAILBLAZERS, BUT NOT TO THIS EXTENT. HE WORKED ON IT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES WITH NO LUCK. FINALLY, HE HAD TO FILL IT UP WITH AIR AND I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE NEXT GAS STATION TO FILL IT UP MORE. I HAD TO KEEP DOING THAT UNTIL I FOUND A PLACE THAT COULD JACK UP MY CAR AND FIX THE TIRE ON THE SPOT (WITHOUT USING THE SPARE). I STILL CANNOT GET THE SPARE OFF OF MY TRUCK. I AM VERY UPSET WITH THIS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ENGINE SHUTS OFF; WOULD NOT RESTART FIRST TRY. WOULD START A LITTLE LATER. WENT TO DEALER, REPROGRAMMED PCM WITH LATEST CALIBRATION UPDATE. SECOND TIME HAPPENED AT 70 MPH. *AK
I PURCHASED MY GMC ENVOY WITH 17,000 MILES A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. SINCE PURCHASE, MY RADIO HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE THE CD PLAYER STOPS WORKING. SINCE THE LAST TIME IT WAS REPLACED WHICH WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO:MY CD PLAYER HAS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. THE DELAER SAYS THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, I WILL HAVE TO BUY A NEW RADIO. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS CONCEPT BECAUSE THE RADIO HAS A YEAR WARRANTY ON IT. THIS IS RIDCULOUS BECAUSE THIS WILL BE THE THIRD RADIO AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 45,000 MILES. AM I GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE MY RADIO EVERY 15,000 MILES? THE TYPE OF RADIO THAT I HAVE IS A BOSE 6 DISC IN-DASH CD RADIO. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME? WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE SPEED AND CONSUMER LOST CONTROL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HIT A GUARD RAIL AND ROLL OVER THREE TIMES. VEHICLE LANDED UPSIDE DOWN. UPON IMPACT, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND SEAT BELT DID NOT HOLD THE PASSENGER. *AK
THE LEFT REAR SEAT BELT TIGHTENED ON THE CHILD, IT WOULD NOT RELEASE, IT KEPT SQUEEZING HER. FINALLY, AFTER NOT BEING ABLE TO RELEASE THE CHILD, THE SEAT BELT WAS CUT OFF. THE CHILD SUSTAINED BRUISES.*AK
CONSUMER HAD ALL OF THE WEATHER PROOFING ON THE VEHICLE REPLACED BY THE DEALER AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY . *AK THE FAN CLUTCH WAS REPLACED, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE IF THE LIGHT WASN'T ON AT THE TIME. THE PLASTIC TRIM FROM THE SEAT BELT BROKE, THE SEAT BELT FAILED AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD DRAG, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND MADE A GRINDING NOISE,THE DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WAS LOOSING PRESSURE, THE PASSENGER INNER DOOR SEAL LEAKED, THE CLOCK ON THE RADIO WOULD RESET ITSELF, THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD LOCK UP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THEY WOULD SKID AND PULL TO THE RIGHT. *SC *JB
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED A TICKING NOISE WAS HEARD FOR 1-2 MINUTES. THE DRIVER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. *NM *NM
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN EIGHT VEHICLE PILE UP. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE BACK AND LEG INJURIES. *AK *SC
THE VEHICLE'S REAR PASSENGER SIDE LOCK BROKE WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE AND OWNER HAD TO TAPE IT SHUT. THE CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. *LA
THE HAS BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT THE FACTED THAT BOTH REAR DOORS HAVE INTERMITTENTLY FLEW OPEN ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN MAKING A TURN, EVEN WHEN THE CHILD PROOF LOCK WAS ACTIVATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND BOTH DOORS WERE CORRECTED. *LA *NM
