PROBLEM WITH MY GAS GAUGE IN JUST TURNED 40,000 MI. ADD FUEL LIGHT COMES ON EVEN AFTER FILL UP. ALSO GAUGE GOES BACK AND FORTH DURING OPERATION OF THE CAR. WHEN THE GAUGE HITS EMPTY A BELL GOES OFF AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT GOES ON. EVENTUALLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL ALSO GO ON INDICATING THERE IS AN ISSUE. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT BREAKING DOWN AND CONSIDER IT A PERSONAL SAFETY ISSUE. LOCAL GMC DEALER HAS NO CLUE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH GAS GAUGES. TRIED TO IGNORE THE PROBLEM BUT JUST GOT WORSE DECIDED TO GET IT FIXED $900. *TR
HELLO, I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT MY 2006 GMC ENVOY. I'VE RECENTLY BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY FUEL GAUGE, WHEN I FILL UP MY GAUGE SAYS I'M EMPTY AND THEN SLOWLY CREEPS BACK UP TO FULL, HOWEVER, IT THEN FLUCTUATES BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY AND NEVER GIVES AN ACCURATE READING. I FEEL THIS CAN CAUSE A HUGE ISSUE FOR PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T KNOW THEIR GAUGE ISN'T ACCURATE. *TR
WE HAVE A 2006 GMC ENVOY WITH 46,952 MILES ON IT. ONE DAY IN APRIL 2011, WITH A 3/4 TANK OF GAS, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE GAS GAUGE DROPPED UNEXPECTEDLY TO EMPTY. THE BELLS STARTED GOING OFF THE MESSAGES CAME ON THE DASH, THE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS LITERALLY SCARED ME TO DEATH. I THOUGHT THE GAS TANK HAD RUPTURED AND THAT ALL MY GAS HAD LEAKED OUT. I WAS TERRIFIED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD COME TO AN ABRUPT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. I MADE IT TO WORK AND IMMEDIATELY LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS LEAKING. THERE WAS NOTHING. I WENT INTO WORK AND WORRIED ALL DAY ABOUT HOW I WAS GOING TO GET TO A GAS STATION. WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO GO HOME, I STARTED THE ENVOY AND THE GAS GAUGE READ BACK TO THE 3/4 FULL TANK. I STARTED ON MY WAY HOME AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GAUGE DROPPED AGAIN. EVER SINCE THAT DAY, EVERY TIME WE START THE ENVOY, THE GAUGE WILL NOT READ PAST "EMPTY" AND THE WARNING BELLS/MESSAGES COME ON ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES, SEVERAL TIMES WHILE I'M JUST DRIVING TO WORK. IT CAME TO THE POINT WHERE WE DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE MUCH ANYMORE. WITH WINTER COMING, I HAVE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED AS I NEED A DEPENDABLE SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEM IS A FUEL SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK. WHATEVER IT IS, WE FEEL THAT GM SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM FOR US AND VERY SOON. WHILE DRIVING GMC ENVOY WIPERS MOVE BY THEMSELVES. THEN STOP AFTER A MIN. OR SO! AS WE PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WATER SPRAYS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS MOVE CONSTANTLY BY THEMSELVES. ALL OF THESE FACTORS CREATE HORRIBLE VISABILITY! *TR
I HAVE A 2006 GMC ENVOY. TWO MONTHS AGO AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK THE GAUGE INDICATED NO FUEL, AND THEN IT WOULD FLUCTUATE, FROM FULL TO EMPTY. NOW IT IS A DAILY OCCURRENCE. THE GAS TANK IS FULL AND READS EMPTY, THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN IT READS I HAVE HALF A TANK, THEN NO GAS AND BACK UP TO FULL. I KNOW OTHER OWNERS HAVE PROBLEMS AND HOPE THERE WILL BE A RECALL SOON ON THIS. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR, I DO NOT GET AN ACCURATE READING. WHEN IT'S 70 DEGREES OUT, IT READS -34 DEGREES. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY BLOWER, THE HIGHEST LEVEL DOES NOT WORK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT STATED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLES FUEL LEVEL WAS AT CAPACITY. THE MECHANIC STATED THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I HAVE A 06 ENVOY DENALI IT STARTED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON, I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED WHICH WORKED UNTIL I DROVE A FEW MILES THEN CAME ON AGAIN.. THEN MY FUEL INDICATOR STOP WORKING STAYS ON E WHEN I FUEL UP. NOW THE OTHER DAY I LOST POWER IN MY GAS PEDDLE(READ LOW PRESSURE) THEN THE CAR DIED. IT STARTED UP BUT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER IN THE PEDDLE. WAITING FOR MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. *TR
WE REQUEST THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR ON THE 2006 GMC ENVOY. RECENTLY, WE FILLED UP THE GAS TANK, STARTED THE CAR AND THE GAUGE WENT TO FULL, WE STARTED TO DRIVE AWAY, THEN THE GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY. NOW, THE GAUGE CONTINUALLY FLUCTUATES SOMEWHERE BETWEEN EMPTY AND 1/4 TO 1/2 FULL SO WE NEVER KNOW. THE REPAIR IS EXTREMELY COSTLY AND OUR RESEARCH SHOWS THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THE FAILURES SEEM TO CONVENIENTLY OCCUR AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. WITHOUT A PROPER FUNCTIONING GAUGE, WE HAVE TO CONTINUALLY ESTIMATE THE GAS LEVEL AND RUN THE RISK OF SERIOUS ACCIDENT/INJURY IF OUR VEHICLE SHOULD STALL AND/OR RUN OUT OF GAS. *TR
2006 GMC ENVOY RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY ROAD GOING TO WORK WHILE THE GAS GAUGE READ THAT THERE WAS GAS IN THE VEHICLE. *TT
I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT THE NHTSA HAD OPENED AN INVESTIGATION CONCERNING 2006 GMC ENVOY GAS GAUGE PROBLEMS. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MANY OTHERS WITH THE GAUGE FLUCTUATING. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO BE STRANDED. I HAVE 53000 MILES ON MY ENVOY AND THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH GAS WAS ACTUALLY IN THE VEHICLE CAUSING HER TO RUN OUT OF GAS INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,100 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, A BURN SMELL EMINITTING FROM DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT VEHICLE TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIR. THEY DIAGNOSED THE SMELL AND WINDOW FAILURE TO THE DRIVER SIDE MASTER SWITCH. THE REPAIR SHOP USED ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT PART. THIS MONTH AGAIN, MY SWITCH DOES NOT WORK AND WINDOWS CURRENTLY ARE NOT WORKING. FRUSTRATING BECAUSE GMC ACCEPTED NO RESPONSIBILITY. I STILL HAVE THE OLD SWITCH AND RECEIPT AND SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE LABOR AND REPLACEMENT PART COST. THANK YOU *TR
I'VE GOT A 2006 GMC ENVOY AND THE GAS GAUGES NEVER READS FULL. IT'S ALWAYS READYING EITHER EMPTY OR FULL. I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW. HOPING THAT SOMETHING WOULD COME OF THIS BEFORE I JUST GO OUT AND HAVE SOMEONE FIX IT. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. THANKS! *TT
FUEL GAUGE STARTED ACTING UP AND GOING FROM FULL TO EMPTY. WITHIN DAYS IT COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING AND NOW SHOWS EMPTY WHEN FULL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. *TR
I OWN A 2006 ENVOY. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF MY VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME THE ROAD SERVICE INDICATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL EVEN THOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE READ I HAD MORE THAN A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT. EVEN AFTER THEY PUT FUEL IN MY VEHICLE IT WOULDN'T START WITHOUT A BOOST. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. DUE TO MY FINANCIAL SITUATION I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE SENSOR IN THE THROTTLE BODY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
FUEL SYSTEM/GAS GAUGE SENSOR FAILED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE IS ONGOING, AS A RESULT I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS 3 TIMES WITH MY SMALL CHILDREN...ONCE IN THE LEFT LANE OF A VERY BUSY ROAD WHERE I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES (SPEED LIMIT ON ROAD WAS 55 MPH). THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN YOU ARE GETTING READY TO RUN OUT OF GAS I.E. THE LOW GAS LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY AND THE REMINDER SIGNAL DOES NOT GO OFF. I TRY TO GAUGE WHEN I NEED TO GET GAS BASED ON MILES I HAVE DRIVEN BUT MILEAGE VARIES DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF DRIVING THAT YOU ARE DOING SO THE NUMBER OF MILES YOU GET PER GALLON CAN VARY GREATLY. ALL 3 TIMES THAT I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS I WAS ON MY WAY TO GET GAS. I HAVE NOT REPLACED THIS PART BECAUSE IT IS A COSTLY REPAIR. IN ADDITION, I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A GMC/CHEVROLET FAULTY SYSTEM. I HAD A 1997 CHEVROLET BLAZER AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE GAS GAUGE. I ALSO KNOW OF AT LEAST 4 OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE GMC/CHEVROLET SUVS AND HAVE HAD THIS SAME SYSTEM FAILURE. *TR
SUMMARY: I REQUEST THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2006 GMC ENVOY XL VEHICLES. THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME ON NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT I STILL HAD A FEW GALLONS LEFT AFTER NUMEROUS TIMES THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF AND THEN GOING BACK TO 1/4 FULL. *TR

FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE. READS COMPLETELY EMPTY THEN MOVES UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I REALLY HAVE IN IT. *TR
TWO MONTHS AGO AFTER FILLING UP MY 2006 ENVOY XL WITH GAS, A PREVIOUSLY NORMALLY FUNCTIONING FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY READ EMPTY AND THE AUDIBLE WARNING KEPT SOUNDING THOUGH I KNEW IT HAD A FULL TANK. THE GAUGE WOULD START TO GO UP, BUT THEN WHEN I WOULD TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, IT WOULD READ EMPTY AGAIN. AS I WAS DRIVING, THE GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL NO MATTER HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE TANK. A TRIP TO THE DEALER SHOWED THAT I HAD A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR. THEY SAID THAT IF I DROVE IT AROUND LIKE THAT THE VEHICLE COULD SUDDENLY STALL. I HAD TO HAVE THE FUEL SENSOR REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
I OWN A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE GAS GAUGE IS READING EMPTY EVEN WHEN IT IS FULL. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF I RUN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING IT COULD RESULT IN A REAR END COLLISION. NOT TO MENTION THAT THIS CAR IS NEW AND SHOULDN'T HAVE THESE TYPE OF ISSUES. *TR
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILED AT JUST OVER 52,000. MILES. FROM MY RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH MANY 2006 GMC OR CHEVROLET VEHICLES FROM THE SAME YEAR RANGE 2005 TO 2006. THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP WAS "IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE $500.00 PLUS REPAIR ESTIMATE, JUST DO WHAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING AND RESET YOUR TRIP METER AT EVERY FILL UP. LOOK TO RE-FUEL BETWEEN 250 AND 300 MILES." IN MY RESEARCH I DISCOVERED A PERSON WHOSE VEHICLE DID THE SAME EXACT THING. HE WAS USING THE TRIP METER AS THE GAUGE AND EVEN WITH FUEL IN THE VEHICLE, HE WAS LEFT STRANDED IN AN INTERSTATE DUE TO AN ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN TO A FAMILY DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER THERE COULD BE SERIOUS SAFETY SITUATIONS. IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE THAT WE OWN WAS PRICED AT $38,000.00 PLUS MSRP,I WOULD EXPECT THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WOULD PERFORM BEYOND THE 50,000 MILE RANGE. I'M SURE, BY NOW, THAT YOUR ORGANIZATION HAS HEARD FROM OTHER GM OWNERS ABOUT THIS SAME SITUATION. I AM INTERESTED IN YOUR RESPONSE. *TR
WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE, THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2006 GMC ENVOY BEGAN FLUCTUATING WILDLY. IT FIRST HAPPENED IN MARCH OF 2011 AFTER I FILLED UP WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS- THE GAUGE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO EMPTY AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. EVER SINCE, THE GAUGE DOES NOT GIVE ACCURATE FUEL READINGS- IT WILL READ FULL WHEN EMPTY, EMPTY WHEN FULL, AND THE NEEDLE WILL SPIKE ALL OVER THE PLACE. JUST RECENTLY (MAY OF 2011) THE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. IT NOW CONSTANTLY READS EMPTY. I CONSIDER IT TO BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN- RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. I NOTIFIED GM OF THE PROBLEM AND JUST TODAY, 6/3/11 WAS TOLD "NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION EXISTS TO INDICATE A PROBLEM OR WARRANT A RECALL." THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE TO HELP FIX THE ISSUE, WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK AND WOULD COST $600 TO REPLACE. *TR
WHEN TURNING CORNERS ON SMOOTH ASPHALT THE STABILITRAC LIGHT COMES ON AND ENGAGES THE SYSTEM WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO MOMENTARILY SLOW DOWN AND MAKES A "GROWL" SOUND, THIS ALSO EFFECTS THE STEERING. IT MAY DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES PER TURN OR ONLY ONCE. IT HAS OCCURRED AT VARYING SPEEDS (TURNS AT 45MPH AND TURNS AT 10MPH). STARTED OUT ONLY OCCURRING DURING LEFT HAND TURNS, NOW HAPPENS ON ALMOST ALL TURNS. I HAVE NOTICED IT IS MUCH WORSE ON WINDY DAYS. THE STABILITRAC ALSO KICKS IN WHEN I TURN ONTO GRAVEL AND START TO SPEED UP (NOT MASHING THE GAS AND SPINNING TIRES, BUT SIMPLY SPEEDING UP AT A REGULAR PACE THAT SHOULD NOT POSE PROBLEMS). *TR
FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE YOU DONT KNOW WHEN YOU CAN RUN OUT OF GAS PARTICULARLY ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GAS GAUGE IN HER VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED BY HER FILLING HER TANK AND THE GAUGE NOT MOVING UP ONCE SHE STARTS THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A INDEPENDENT AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE FUEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
WE OWN A 2006 GMC ENOVY. ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, THE FUEL GAUGE STARTED BOUNCING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL. IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW MUCH FUEL WAS ACTUALLY IN THE VEHICLE. THE FUEL GAUGE HAS BECOME USELESS. *TR
FRONT WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE FAILURE, BOTH (LEFT AND RIGHT). 1ST EVENT NOTED IN 2009 WHEN VEHICLE HAD 32000 MILES, THIS IS THE 2ND EVENT. NOZZLES STOP SPRAYING WASHING FLUID EFFECTIVELY, PREVENTING DRIVER FROM CLEANING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IN HIGH DEBRIS CONDITIONS, REDUCING VISIBILITY AND POSING A DRIVING HAZARD SPECIALLY IN HIGH DEBRIS / INSECT AREAS IN NON-OPTIMAL LIGHTING CONDITIONS SUCH AS NIGHTTIME DRIVING OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALIGNED TOWARDS THE SUN OR OTHER LIGHT SOURCE. PREVIOUS EVENT REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE NOZZLES, IT IS NOT CAUSED BY OBSTRUCTION AS PLENTY OF FLUID STILL FLOWS OUT OF THE NOZZLE (JUST NOT IN THE NECESSARY PATTERN). *TR
AFTER FILLING THE VEHICLE TANK WITH GASOLINE, I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE GAS GAGE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO EMPTY AND THE ALARM SOUNDED. THE GAGE RECOVERED AFTER THE LEVEL DROPPED TO ABOUT 1/3 AND OPERATED CORRECTLY FOR THE REST OF THE TANK. THEN THE GAGE BECAME MORE ERRATIC AND HAS NO INDICATION OF THE AMOUNT IN THE TANK. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2006 ENVOY AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AS THEY MUST REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT IN THE TANK.
THE GAS GAUGE WILL READ EMPTY RIGHT AFTER THE TANK IS FILLED. THE GAUGE WILL THEN SLOWLY GO UP, THEN GO UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY, RESULTING IN NEVER KNOWING HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. THE LAST REPAIR WAS 4-29-2011 THE FIRST REPAIR WAS 9-15-2010 SAME PART SAME PROBLEM. THIS REPAIR COST WAS $3500.00

FUEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC CAUSING THE DRIVER NOT TO KNOW WHEN THE LEVEL MAY BE DANGEROUSLY LOW AND LEAVE HIM/HER STRANDED. GAUGE WILL REGISTER "EMPTY" WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. I HAVE A 2006 GMC ENVOY AND JUST STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK, THE GAS NEEDLE DROPS TO EMPTY, THE FUEL LOW INDICATOR COMES ON AND IT STAYS ON UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF, THEN TURN IT BACK ON OR IT MOVES UP SOME, BUT THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO REMAIN ON. I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND I HAVE A AN OPEN COMPLAINT WITH THEM. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED A LOCAL GMC DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALLS ON THIS TRUCK FOR A GAS GAUGE PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY GM CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF ANY OF THESE TYPES OF COMPLAINTS AND WILL HAVE TO RESEARCH IT. THE INFORMATION THAT I HAVE FOUND IS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON WITH ENVOY'S, GM HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AND HAVE NOT GIVEN OWNERS ANY RESOLUTION. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, AN ANNOYING ISSUE AND A COSTLY REPAIR FOR OWNERS AND THERE SHOULD BE SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION ON REPLACING THESE KNOWN PROBLEMS. *TR
