The front impact sensor, also known as a crash sensor (part # 10370150), is no longer functional. It detects rapid vehicle deceleration during a frontal collision and sends an immediate signal to the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) to deploy airbags. Located behind the front bumper or on the radiator support, these sensors measure impact severity to ensure airbags deploy only when necessary. This part is no longer available from GM or any other aftermarket distributor. It is a critical part for any occupants in a crash. I am just one of many people who cannot make safety corrections.

I WAS SOLD AN UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR WORK/COMUTE FAMILY. THE DEALERSHIP MISLEAD ME AND LIED TO ME ABOUT WARRANTY AND EVEN AFTER I PAID $10,0000 CASH I WAS WRONGFULLY DONE BY THIS BUSSINESS BY NO MEANS WAS THE BUSSINESS TRYING TO CONDUCT GOOD BUSSINESS WITH ME AND I ALSO HAVE A DISSABILITY AND A CHILD WITH A DISABILITY. Incident Date: 5/9/2024 Description: I PURCHASED A 2006 GMC SIERRA $10,000 CASH WAS GIVEN AND PAID OFF BUT I WAS SCAMMED BY THE DEALERSHIP. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT I WAS BEING SOLD A GOOD SAFE VEHICLE FOR WORK AND MY FAMILIES NEEDS ARE ALSO A PRIORITY. I NEVER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE TILL I DROVE HOME AFTER PURCHASING IT. NOT EVEN 4 MINS ON THE ROAD AND I NOTICED THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT AND THE FRONT BRAKES BEGAN TO SMOKE. I CONTACTED THE DEALSHIP BUT WAS DISREGARDED AND NOT OFFERED AN EXCHANGE OR ANY TYPE OF SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM I EVEN EXPLAINED MY JOB REQUIRED ME TO USE MY VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTING MATERIAL FOR WORK AND SINCE I WAS IN CHARGE OF 4 PEOPLE THAT WOUL BE REQUIREING SKILLS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MAKING SURE ALL CUSTOMERS WERE SATISFIED. PACIFI NORTHWEST MOTORSPORTS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY IMPARIMENT I FEELSCAMMED AND I WANT TO HAVE MY MONEY BACK OR AT LEAST EXCHANGE FOR THE VALUE OF $10,000. I WAS NEVER OFFERED ANY TYPE OF SLOUTION FROM THE BUSSINESS THE OWNER LAUGHED AT ME AND SAID THAT IT SUCKED TO BE ME AND HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. THE BUSSINNESS OWNER LIED TO THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE ABOUT OFFEREING ME A REMEDY THE ONLY REMEDY I WOULD CONSIDER IS MY MONEY BACK AND AN EXCHANGE FOR MY TROUBLES I feel that this is a vehicle manufacturer malfuncunctiom. MY PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BROKE AND WENT SIDEWAYS WHEN I TURN OFF THE HIGHWAY IN MONTZUMA ONLY GOING ABOUT 30MPH
BRAKES FAILED "COMPLETELY", WITH NO WARNING. NO "WARNING LIGHT" ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHILE DRIVING ON A PUBLIC ROAD IN THE COUNTY. ALL OF A SUDDEN ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKES. HAD RECENTLY HAULED A CAR ON A TRAILER FROM EMPORIA, KANSAS. WAS PREPARING TO HAUL CALVES TO THE SALE BARN. NOW THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A TOTAL DISASTER. UPON INSPECTION, THE BRAKE LINES ARE SO RUSTED, THAT PINCHING OFF THE LINE RESULTED IN A RUPTURE IN ANOTHER LOCATION. I WAS TRYING TO GET SOME BRAKING ACTION, SO I COULD DRIVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP. EVEN THOUGH MY TRUCK HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND ONLY HAS 30 THOUSAND MILES ON IT, MY BRAKING SYSTEM WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE MY METAL BRAKE LINES ARE RUSTED . *TR
BRAKE LINES BUSTED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM BECAUSE I WAS HAULING A LOAD AND GOT EXTREMELY EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT IT BUSTED AS I WAS PULLING IN DRIVEWAY. I WAS PULLING A LOADED TRAILER WITH NO BRAKES. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2005 AND 2006 2500 TRUCKS. I CAN NAME 6 VEHICLES I KNOW OF IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO. MECHANIC SAYS IT'S A VERY SERIOUS AND COMMON ISSUE THAT GM SHOULD BE RECALLING. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN AT A STOPLIGHT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BAD. CHEAP MATERIALS IS THE PROBLEM WITH THESE BRAKE LINES. 2006 YEAR MODEL IS MINE.
MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND I SEE THEIR IS A RECALL FOR THE PITMAN ARM THAT CAN CAUSE TOTAL LOSS IF STEERING AND THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME
ABS LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHILE DRIVING
I HAD A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD AND WHEN THEY REPLACED IT THE TECHNICIAN SAID IT WAS SO RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE THAT IF ANYTHING HAPPENED AGAIN THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT HE HAD TO REALLY DO SOME WORK AROUNDS HE SAID TO EVEN REPLACE THIS ONE. THAT MAKES ME FEEL THAT THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE IF WE WERE TO GET IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE OUTSIDE AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AT ALL. SO I WAS VERY SURPRISED WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT.
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, ABOUT 20 MPH OR LOWER, THE BRAKE PEDAL FADES TO THE FLOOR. THERE ARE NO LIGHTS OR CODES AND BRAKE FLUID AT THE PROPER LEVEL. THIS HAPPENS QUITE FREQUENTLY AND ANYWHERE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 8 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT CALLED CHAMPION CHEVROLET OF AVON AT 317-350-1023 (LOCATED AT 183 S COUNTY RD 525, AVON, IN 46123) AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS RECOMMENDED. THE TEST WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
IN THE CITY STOPPING FOR A STOPLIGHT THE BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. ALL FLUID WAS LOST BECAUSE THE BRAKE LINES FAILED DUE TO RUST. NO BRAKES WHATSOEVER EXCEPT EMERGENCY BRAKE. MY STATE EVEN REQUIRES A SAFETY INSPECTION YEARLY. IF THE CONSUMER IS NOT GOING TO BE NOTIFIED OF THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM AT LEAST LET THE SAFETY INSPECTORS KNOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FORTY TWO VOLT CHARGING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE WARNING, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND IT FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JOHN PAUL'S BUICK GMC (3615 S 108TH ST, GREENFIELD, WI 53228, (414) 208-4113) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GENERATOR STARTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,350.
I TOOK OUR TRUCK IN FOR SERVICING AT THE O'NEILL GMC DEALERSHIP IN WARMINSTER, PA AND WAS TOLD THAT ALL OF OUR BRAKE LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUSTING. WE PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE NEW FROM O'NEILL AND HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE IT SERVICED THERE. THE TRUCK IS TREATED WITH GREAT RESPECT AND ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. I CONTACTED GMC DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE MATERIALS OF THE VEHICLE THEY SOLD US AND THEY CLAIM THAT THIS IS NORMAL. I NOW AM STRAPPED WITH A BILL FOR $2700.00 TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DEFECTIVE, RUSTING BRAKE LINES THEIR WEBSITE SAYS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. I BELIEVE GMC SHOULD CONTRIBUTE $1700 TOWARDS THE BILL. I NOTE THAT THERE ARE OVER TEN PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET REGARDING CORROSION PROBLEMS. PLEASE HOLD GMC ACCOUNTABLE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN GOOD FAITH AND THEY SHOULD ADMIT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR INFERIOR BRAKE LINE MATERIALS. I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH GMC'S EXCUSES AND NONSENSE. I TOLD THEM THEY SHOULD PAY $1700 OUT OF THE MONEY THEY BANKED FROM THE EXPIRED, EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED. THIS IS A GMC ISSUE; NOT A [XXX] ISSUE. BRAKE LINE FAILURE, FRONT LEFT. STEEL LINE HAD RUSTED NEXT TO A PLASTIC CLIP THAT SECURED A WIRING HARNESS TO THE BRAKE LINE. BRAKE FLUID WAS SPRAYING ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE. NOTICED THE LEAK AFTER RETURNING HOME; HAD FAILED IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC.
WHEN BRAKING AT THE END OF OUR DRIVEWAY BEFORE PROCEEDING INTO THE ROAD THE BRAKE PEDAL PULSATES LIKE ABS IS KICKING IN BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO STOP. ALSO WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT AT LOW SPEED, CAN HEAR THE ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATING AND GET PULSING IN THE BRAKES AS WELL.
WHILE DRIVING ON TWO LANE ROAD,SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT FLASHED, VEHICLE WAS HARD TOO SLOW DOWN AND STOP. STOPPED VEHICLE AND SAW BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM LEFT FRONT WHEEL BRAKE LINES.

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A WRECKING YARD. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 3500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED INTO THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO SEIZE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND ALL OF THE HOSES AFFECTED BY THE BRAKE FLUID WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,108.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 GMC SIERRA 2500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT KNEE, LEFT ANKLE, LEFT HIP, AND ABDOMEN. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
FUEL GAGE SHOWS HALF A TANK BUT I RAN OUT OF GAS. LIGHTS BLOW ALL THETIME.
I OWN A 2006 GMC SIERRA 1500 PICK-UP WITH LESS THAN 75,000 MILES ON JANUARY 23, 2017 I LOST MY BRAKING CAPABILITY DUE TO THE BRAKE LINES BEING COMPLETELY CORRODED/RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING THE LOST OF BRAKE FLUID. LUCKILY I LOST MY BRAKES IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT ON A BUSY MAIN STREET OR HIGHWAY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUSLY HURTING MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR SOMETIME AND SAYS IT IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. FROM FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AROUND A CURVE (50MPH)AND STEERING FAILED. THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED COMPLETELY AROUND BUT WHEELS DID NOT RESPOND. I HAD A STRONG ODOR OF BURNING POWER STEERING FLUID JUST PRIOR TO MALFUNCTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 800 (NA). THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE HORN AND IT FAILED TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY. THE RELAY IN THE FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED, WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. DURING AN OIL CHANGE, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAG CONTACT COIL, WHICH WAS TIED TO THE HORN, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REQUESTED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST OF $78 AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THE ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR WOULD RANGE FROM $393.12 TO $1,000. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TEN YEARS OLD, THEY WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,190. *TR
REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND ENGINE LIGHT. HAVE HAD JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING REPLACED I HAVE MY REPAIR BILLS. TRUCK WILL RUN FINE AFTER BEING IN SHOP THEN STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. IT WILL DROP ME DOWN TO 20MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A BAD WRECK. IT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY AND I AM OUT OF TOWN I HAVE DROVE 600 MILES WITH A HORSE TRAILER TO PICK UP A RESCUE HORSE AND AM AFRAID TO START HOME WITH NO CLUE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS TRUCK WHEN I RESET THE BATTERY IT WILL WORK FINE BUT I AM TELLING YOU THAT IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A BAD WRECK. I DON'T MIND PAYING FOR IT JUST TELL WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG SO I CAN GET IT FIXED PROBABLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06E050000 (SERVICE BRAKES, AIR), THE PASSENGER SIDE HUB FRACTURED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HUB ASSEMBLY WAS DEEMED AFTER MARKET AND THE REPAIR WAS DENIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 322,566.
2006 GMC SIENNA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFTER STICKS/ GRINDS WHEN CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TROUBLE SHIFTING THE FIVE SPEED TRANSMISSION FROM THE TIME, HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD STICK IN GEAR WHEN SHIFTING, MOVE WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED WHEN HE STARTED IT IN GEAR, AND SCRAPE WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. OVERALL, THE CLUTCH WAS NOT DISENGAGING/ THE DEALER CLAIMED THE VEHICLE WAS SELF-ADJUSTING AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT AN INCORRECT CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER BEING INSTALLED IN 2006 SIERRA'S. *JB
MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING OUR 2006 GMC SIERRA WAS INVOLVED IN A T-BONE ACCIDENT. SHE WAS DRIVING SOUTH IN HER LANE AND WAS CUT OFF CAUSING HER TO HIT THE CAR THAT TURNED IN FRONT OF HER. SHE COULD NOT STOP IN TIME AND WHEN SHE HIT THE OTHER CAR HER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SHE DIED FROM BROKEN RIBS THAT PUNCHER-ED HER HEART AND SHE BLED TO DEATH AT WORK TWO HOURS LATER, THE CORONER DETERMINED HER DEATH TO BE FROM BLUNT FORCE CHEST TRAUMA.
DEFECTIVE CASTECH HEADS. LEAKING ANTIFREEZE INTO ENGINE. THINS OUT THE ENGINE OIL AND COULD ENGINE TO OVER HEAT OR SIEZE UP WHILE DRIVING. GM KNOWS OF THE DEFECTIVE HEADS BUT WILL NOT WARRENTY THEM. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US POOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE GOT STUCK WITH THIS BAD DEFECTIVE DESIGN.
I HAVE A 2006 GMC SIERRA WITH THE 5.3L VORTEC ENGINE AND I FOUND OUT THAT THE CASTECH HEADS ARE FAULTY AND LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE ALSO FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND GM KNOWS ABOUT IT ,TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN IS 06-06-01-019B WHICH STATES GM IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT THIS TRUCK WAS BOUGHT BY MY BOSS BRAND NEW AND I PURCHASED IT FROM HIM I BELIEVE GM SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. JUST NOTICED THIS THIS MONTH AND THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY.
NOT ONLY DOES THE RIGHT SIDE MIRROR HAVE THE OBJECTS ARE CLOSER THAN IT APPEARS STYLE MIRROR USED FOR CARS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE FOR TOWING ( ON A TRUCK WITH A TOW PACKAGE ) IT HAS RED LIGHTS THAT FLASH IN THE MIRROR. NOT ONLY DOES THE FLASHING RED LIGHTS MAKE IT HARD TO SEE ANYTHING IN THE MIRROR AT NIGHT, IT MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE IT IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT, AS IT MAKES THE WATER DROPS ON THE WINDOW FLASH RED AS WELL . IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD ALSO BE A PROBLEM FOR SOMEONE WITH PHOTOSENSITIVE EPILEPSY (PSE) IS A FORM OF EPILEPSY IN WHICH SEIZURES ARE TRIGGERED BY VISUAL STIMULI THAT FORM PATTERNS IN TIME OR SPACE, SUCH AS FLASHING LIGHTS; BOLD, REGULAR PATTERNS; OR REGULAR MOVING PATTERNS.
TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE WHILE IN MOTION. CORRODED BRAKE LINE RUPTURED CAUSING IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ALL FLUID. HAD THIS HAPPENED 5 MINUTES EARLIER, I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY IN BUMPER TO BUMPER CHRISTMAS TRAFFIC. AT 70 YEARS OLD I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW CATASTROPHIC AN ACCIDENT MY REFLEXES WOULD HAVE GENERATED. THE FLUID SPRAYED ON THE HOT ENGINE CREATING A CLOUD OF SMOKE. I WAS AFRAID THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE FLUID COOKED OFF THE ENGINE AS SMOKE AND AGAIN LUCKILY THERE WAS NO FIRE. NOW AFTER EXTENSIVE REPAIRS, I AM VERY NERVOUS BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH CORROSION SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS BLOGS ON THE INTERNET INDICATE THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR QUITE AWHILE. I HAVE ATTACHED THE INVOICE OF THE REPAIRS REQUIRED. I WAS IN THE DRIVE THROUGH OF A MCDONALDS AND HAD PLACED MY ORDER AND WAS PULLING TO THE WINDOW TO PAY WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY MOVING SLOWLY AT THAT TIME, THUS ABLE TO AVOID INJURING ANYONE OR DAMAGING ANY OTHER VEHICLES.
ABS ACTIVATION AT LOW SPEEDS RESULTING IN INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCE. IT RESULTED ALMOST STRIKING A PEDESTRIAN IN A CROSSWALK. THIS HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED AT MY OWN COST IN 2011 AND THE PROBLEM HAS AGAIN RETURNED. PREVIOUSLY GMC SIERRAS WERE RECALLED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. RECALL NUMBER: 05V379000 RECALL DATE: 08/29/2005 COMPONENT: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK PROBLEM SUMMARY: CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE UNWANTED ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) ACTIVATION. CONSEQUENCE: THIS CAN CAUSE INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES DURING LOW-SPEED BRAKE APPLICATIONS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
VEHICLE IN MOTION. BRAKE LINE FAILURE (BURST) WHILE DRIVING ON CROWDED CITY STREET - 30MPH. PEDAL SANK TO FLOOR. TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKES. USED EMERGENCY BRAKE AND GEAR IN PARK TO STOP. NEAR COLLISION WITH BICYCLIST.
MY TRUCK EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUES AS #10240: SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT-HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL OR INOPERATIVE - (MAY 9, 2011). HOWEVER MY AUTO CLIMATE FAN WAS NOT COVERED. I BELIEVE THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE. MY TRUCK BECAME SMOKY FROM THE OVERHEATING WIRES AND THE HVAC SYSTEM WOULD RUN AFTER CUTTING OFF THE IGNITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH FUEL AND THE GAUGES SHOWED THAT THE TANK WAS FULL. THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED LESS THAN A HALF TANK OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO SIGNS OF A FUEL LEAK OR ANY FUEL ODOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND BRAKES GAVE OUT.. STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND TRUCK DID NOT STOP. A RUSTY BRAKE LINE WAS LEAKING. IT IT HAD A SPLIT IN IT. DO TO RUST ANAND CORROSION. THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO MY FATHER'S 03 SILVERADO A FEW YEARS BACK. WHY HAS THIS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH NO RECALL. I HAD A KIA SPECTRA FOR 15 YEARS AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH RUSTY BRAKE LINES LEAKING... IT'S A TRUCK THEY SHOULD BE BUILT TO LAST.. SMH NOT HAPPY..
INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT, VEHICLE DRIVEN INTO REAR OF PICK-UP AND U-HAUL TRAILER ON HIGHWAY 50 CANYON CITY,CO ,LEFT FRONT SIDE OF GMC 3500 DESTROYED ALONG WITH HOOD AREA AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER HAD TO BE CUT OUT OF GMC3500. GMC TOTALED DRIVER SUFFERED BROKEN NECK. PHOTOS OBTAINED BUT NOT ABLE TO UPLOAD.

RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LINE RUPTURED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES IN A PARKING LOT. BRAKE FLUID STARTED TO LEAK OUT FROM THE LINE THAT CROSSES FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THE RUPTURE WAS DUE TO CORROSION OF THE ORIGINAL LINES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. BEFORE THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. THE SERVICE LIGHT DID COME EVENTUALLY AT WHICH TIME WE CHECKED THE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH WAS EXTREMELY LOW SO WE FILLED IT THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE NEXT DAY WE NOTICED BRAKE FLUID DRIPPING AND AFTER CHECKING REALIZED THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE BRAKE LINES WERE WERE RUSTED THROUGH IN SEVERAL PLACES AND ALL OF THE OTHER LINES ARE TERRIBLY RUSTED AND PROBABLY ON THE VERGE OF LEAKING ALSO. THIS IS A TRUCK THAT WE USUALLY PULL OUR CAMPER WITH. LUCKILY WE WERE NOT PULLING IT AT THE TIME THIS OCCURRED.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TURNED OFF ENGINE, HVAC FAN STILL ON. WILL NOT TURN OFF. THIS IS THE DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. HAD TO REMOVE FUSE SO THE BATTERY WILL NOT DISCHARGE. SERVICE BULLETINS WERE ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT DID NOT INCLUDE ALL VEHICLES, INCLUDING OURS.
