We were on the highway going 65 mph and all a sudden a long bang happened. After that the anti skid light came on causing the truck to drive hard and lack of power. The engine had a sound that didn’t seam right.
Driving on Interstate at a speed of 65, truck lost power. Check engine light and all lights on dash appeared I initially mistakenly reported the wrong mileage of 160k. My vehicle only has 135k miles on it
Driving on Interstate at a speed of 70 when truck lost power. Check engine light came on and other lights on dash came on also. 2007 with 160k miles original barely driven. This year should be a part of the Class Action Suit

The frame is completely rusting out.There needs to be something done about this please
The truck in question has LESS than 163k miles and burn a quart of oil a day, loss of power. There HAS been a recall on this SAME MOTOR 5.3 but while this year was ACKNOWLEDGED it was NOT a part of a recall EXCEPT for passenger side air bag that was replaced at dealership and damaged dash in process. Not it is NON DRIVE ABLE due to oil pressure issues
I was at a stop light and heard a loud noise like a shotgun blast. I felt a concussion hit me in the chest. I thought I had been shot at, then thought I was possibly rear ended but nobody was behind me. I noticed the airbag light was on, the hazards were on and I couldn't shut them off, and the seatbelts were, and still are all locked. But no airbag deployed. There was a smell in the cab that vaguely smelled like a cross between gunpowder and ozone. It's fortunate that I was not at freeway speed.
Transmission
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH with his friend in the front passenger's seat, the vehicle crashed into the driver's side of another vehicle that was making a left turn. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact stated that he hit his head against the ceiling, and hit his chest against the steering wheel, which caused him to have tense muscles and nerves. The contact's friend sustained a whiplash and twisted his back. Both the contact and his friend did not receive medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's friend's sister. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 214,000.
There is an alert for inspect airbags on the dash.
2007 GMC SIERRA- Consumers writing in about the recall notice and repair of the Takata airbag. Consumer stated " I made an appointment with the dealer." " After waiting in a long line to check in. the serviceman told me that to replace the airbag they would have to remove the dashboard and it most likely will crack during the procedure and the replacement cost is at my expense. He also said that he is not aware of any problem resulting if I choose not to have it replaced. If you can guarantee that replacing the airbag will not crack the dashboard or that you will cover the cost of a new dashboard, I will be happy to honor the recall notice." Recall notice attached.

Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contract stated while driving 20 MPH, the front driver's side air bag deployed with no impact. The contact stated that the battery warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that after the inadvertent deployment, the front passenger side of the vehicle crashed into a barricade. The contact stated that he sustained a concussion; however, no medical attention was sought. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that after the dealer serviced the front passenger’s side air bag inflator under recall, the passenger’s side air bag warning light failed to illuminate with a passenger seated in the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a code reader, which showed an incorrect installation of equipment code. The dealer was made aware of the failure and diagnosed the vehicle with Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) sensor failure. The dealer informed the contact that the Sensing Diagnostic Control Module needed to be reprogrammed or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.
I was informed that the passenger side air bags had a recall ,so I'm following up on this.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DASHBOARD REPLACEMENT IF DAMAGED DURING THE RECALL REPAIR. DRIVING DOWN ROAD, HEARD / FELT LOUD BANG. STOPPED VEHICLE, NO DAMAGE OR PARTS OF ROAD WAY. SEVERAL DAYS LATER WHILE FLUID FILMING UNDERCOATING UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE NOTICED BROKEN MIDDLE REAR DRIVERS SIDE LEAF SPRING STICK OUT OF LEAF SPRING PACK.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle independently shut off. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact jiggled the key while it was still in the ignition cylinder and the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but was a recurring failure. The contact stated that the failure was also occurring at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was a recall for the failure and referred the contact to a dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called a dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V640000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 183,000.
WHEN WILL NHTSA ACCEPT OR DENY THE PETITION FOR INCONSEQUENTIALITY FROM GM CLAIMING THAT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED? THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS.

VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, CAUSING STALLING, VERY LOW ROUGH IDLE, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC, AT STOP LIGHTS ETC. THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY TRUCK IS INCLUDED IN A SAFETY RECALL BULLETIN #14515B JANUARY 2015, HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR TRUCK IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE THAT IS CAUSING THIS SAFETY HAZARD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 30 MPH. THE DRIVER QUICKLY COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, POWERED OFF THE ENGINE, AND WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED 3 TO 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. AFTER EACH FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWER OFF THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR 30 MILES UNTIL THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED. NO TRAFFIC ON ROAD WAS ABLE TO COAST TO STOP WITHOUT ACCIDENT. QUICK INSPECTION SHOWED SEVERE BRAKE FLUID LEAK. AFTER TOWING, REPAIR SHOP FOUND RUPTURED HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINE DUE TO CORROSION, AND MULTIPLE OTHER SIMILAR WEAKENED SPOTS. ALL HARD LINES REPLACED. MANUFACTURER DECLINED WARRANTY ASSISTANCE. OF NOTE, VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW, WITH NO HEAVY DUTY USE, NOR HIGH MILEAGE. ORIGINAL PARTS IN MY POSSESSION FOR VERIFICATION.

*TAKATA RECALL * REALIZING MY TRUCK IS ONE OF MANY GM VEHICLES INVOLVED IN A " PRELIMINARY RECALL" WHICH HAS BEEN PROCRASTINATED REPEATEDLY AT THIS POINT . NOT SURE WHY EXACTLY THEY (GM)HAVE FAILED TO PROVE OTHERWISE TO NHTSA BY THEIR GIVEN DEADLINES..THAT THESE SPECIFIC VEHICLES ARENT AFFECTED LIKE ALL THE OTHERS INVOLVED. WHICH HAS SAID TO BE THE " LARGEST RECALL IN US HISTORY ".. MY TRUCK HAS RECENTLY (4/1/19) HAD THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" MSG APPEAR IN THE DIC ALONG WITH THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. COMES ON AND CONTINUES TO STAY ON EACH AND EVERY TIME I START THE TRUCK UNTIL SHUTTING IT OFF . HAS CONTINUED TO DO THIS CONSISTENTLY EVERY SINGLE DAY AFTER 4/1/19. CAUSING ME TO BE EVEN MORE CONCERNED THAN BEFORE SINCE MY KIDS COMMUTE IN THIS TRUCK 7 DAYS A WEEK! I'VE MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PUCHASED THE TRUCK BUT CAN'T GET AN APPT UNTIL 4/10/19 .I ALSO HAVE HAD THEM TELL ME A TIME OR 2 B4 THAT THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS TO FIX AND THEY CURRENTLY AREN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR /REPLACEMENT AT THIS TIME .. I HAVE A CRACK ON DASHBOARD ALONG THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SIDE AND AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
STEERING POSITIONING / ANGLE SENSOR, FAULT THAT COULD SHUT YOUR VEHICLE DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE A 2007 GMC SIERRA AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE EXACT SAME PART, THE STEERING POSITION/ ANGLE SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR MORE THAN 2 MONTHS TO GET A DEALERSHIP TO ORDER ME THE PART TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT ONLY TO BE TOLD THE PART HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED MY GENERAL MOTORS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS VEHICLE STILL ON THE ROAD THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE AND GM DISCONTINUED THIS PART.
TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL WAS POSTED IN 2016, ALMOST 3 YEARS LATER AND GMC STILL HAS NO REMEDY? HOW CAN I FEEL SAFE WITH AIRBAGS THEY MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY.

I WAS DRIVING AND STARTED TO HEAR A KNOCKING SOUND. MESSAGE CENTER SAID LOW OIL, SO I ADDED MORE OIL OVER THE WEEKEND UNTIL I COULD GET IT INTO THE SHOP. MONDAY MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK I HEARD SOMETHING SHOOT THROUGH SOMETHING UNDER THE HOOD AND THE TRUCK WENT DEAD. THERE WAS A POOL OF OIL UNDER THE TRUCK AND METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND IN MY OIL PAN.

DASH CRACKED BY PASSENGER AIRBAG AND DRIVER SIDE AS WELL.
IS THERE A RECALL ON MY GMC PICKUP FOR THE AIRBAGS
TRUCK RANDOMLY DOESNT START. NO CRANK NO START BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND HAS NOW DIED AT HWY SPEEDS 3-4 TIMES. RESULTING IN NO POWER STEERING,NO ABS, AIRBAGS BECOME DEACTIVATED IN A STALL SITUATION TO MY KNOWLEDGE. MAKING IT VERY HARD TO CONTROL THE TRUCK IN ORDER TO GET IT OFF THE HWY/ROADWAY. STABILITRAK LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALL STAY ON AND THE MOST RECENT LIGHT IS NOW THE ABS LIGHT. NOW IT'S TO A THE POINT OF HARDLY STARTING AT ALL. THE KEY HAS RECENTLY BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN AS WELL. ORIGINALLY THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD CYCLE MULTIPLE TIMES , AND INTERIOR LIGHTS DASH LIGHTS WOULD ALL CYCLE AT FAST RATE ALL AT ONCE. WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED I WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO EVENTUALLY GET THE TRUCK TO START A SHORT TIME AFTER. ENGINE POWER REDUCED IS ANOTHER SPECIFIC WARNING THAT APPEARS NOW THAT IT'S NOW DYING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HWY. EACH INCIDENT WHEN THE TRUCK HAS STALLED IT'S BEEN WHEN DRIVING AT LEAST 60 MPH.OR MORE. NUMEROUS OWNERS OF GM VEHICLES ARE AND HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES FOR FAR TOO LONG WITH LITTLE BEING DONE FOR ALOT OF THESE OWNERS.
"TAKATA RECALL " PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX MY TRUCK DEALER HAS NOT OFFERED ANOTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO ME. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN MY TRUCK DAILY SINCE IT IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION TO WORK AND TAKING THEM TO SCHOOL, SPORTS ACTIVITIES, STORE ETC. AND ALL OTHER PLACES I HAVE TO HAVE A VEHICLE TO GET TO. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY TRUCK WITH A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THATS BEEN RECALLED FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. ESPECIALLY WITH HAVING MY 2 CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE 75 %OF THE TIME . PARTS NOT BEING AVAILABLE STILL AT THIS POINT GM SHOULD BE MAKING SURE I HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE UNTIL THEY CAN FIX IT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS NOW CAME ON AND OFF A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES NOW.
