TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED AND THE ABS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR AND THE BRAKES WERE RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. UPDATED 10/10/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED UPON DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE SLOWED, BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE DRIVER MADE A RIGHT TURN AT 35 MPH AND SLID INTO GRAVEL ALMOST HITTING A GUARDRAIL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEY HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THE CONSUMER HAS HEARD OTHERWISE FROM VARIOUS MECHANICS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. UPDATED 3/31/2015 *JS
TAKATA RECALL: PER DEALERSHIP, 8/12/16 UNABLE TO MAKE APPOINTMENT TO FIX THE RECALL NUMBER #49152. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE IN. SAYS IT COULD TKE UP TO ONE YEAR!!!! WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE TRUCK WAS SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO CARS, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT 35 MPH., HE WAS INJURED. AFTER VEHICLE CAME BACK FROM BODYSHOP WITH $7000.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE FIXED, AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS STAYED ON. WE USE THIS TRUCK FOR OUR CONTRACTING BUSINESS, SO IS IT SAFE LIKE GM RECALL LETTER STATES? I CALLED GM BACK ON JULY 1ST, 2016, ASKED IF THERE WAS A TAKATA RECALL ON THIS TRUCK, I WAS TOLD NO. I TOLD THEM THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON SO WHY NOT RECALL BASED ON OTHER 2007 TRUCKS? PART 573 SAFETY RECALL REPORT GIVEN TO THE NHTSA BY GM CLEARLY SHOWS THAT ALL 2007 GMC SIERRAS WERE TO BE RECALLED IN AREA B, WHICH IS WHERE I LIVE.. HIGH HUMIDITY. MEMO WAS SUBMITTED MAY 27TH, 2016. I JUST GOT MY RECALL LETTER YESTERDAY, AUGUST 11TH. WHEN I CALLED GM TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT, AND ASK WHY THE DELAY, I WAS HUNG UP ON. I WANT JUSTICE FOR AIRBAGS THAT DO NOT DEPLOY WHEN THEY SHOULD.. WHAT ABOUT WE FOLK? THERE ARE MANY OF US.THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STILL ON< AND NOW THERE ARE NO PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. OUR MECHANIC SAYS WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, THE BAGS WILL NOT WORK. GREAT. NO RENTAL CAR FROM GM AND NO WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SHOULD WE NOT GO TO WORK? I DOUBT ENTERPRISE WOULD LIKE A CONTRACTOR TO USE THEIR RENTAL TRUCK AS A "REAL" WORK TRUCK LIKE WE DO. HENCE THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THERE WAS A REDUCTION IN THE ENGINE POWER EVEN THOUGH FORCE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND RESUMED IN OPERATION NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE COMPUTER MOTHERBOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE MONTH AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACK, THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
WHEN STOP FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY HIT ME FROM THE BACK ONE GUY TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION. *TR
WILL HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY, AS DESCRIBED BY OTHER GMC OWNERS. THE ISSUE IS WITH THE BATTERY CABLES AND ATTACHMENT TO THE FRAME AND FUSE PANELS. AFFECTS A WIDE VARIETY OF GM AND CHEVY MODELS, AND SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE A RECALL, AS THIS CAUSES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHAT HAPPENS IS : 1. TRUCK WILL BE RUNNING FINE, AS IT SHOULD. INTERMITTENTLY, WITHOUT WARNING WILL START HAVING DOOR LOCKS GO UP AND DOWN, ALONG WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, GAUGE CLUSTER RESETTING AND COMPLETE POWER LOSS TO THE ENGINE AND COMPONENTS (POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC.) 2. UPON SHUTTING OFF ENGINE EXPERIENCING FULL POWER LOSS. CANNOT CRANK ENGINE UNTIL POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED BY POPPING HOOD AND WIGGLING BATTERY TERMINAL CABLES. THE REASON WHY THIS IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD HAVE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL, IS FIRST, WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS TRAVELING AT 80MPH. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO GUIDE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO USE BLINKER, POWER STEERING, OR POWER BRAKES. I HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH OTHER GM OWNERS OF THE SAME YEAR RANGE, BUT AFFECTING MULTIPLE GM AND CHEVY MODELS. (ONE IS 2009 YUKON, DESCRIBING THE SAME ISSUES.) I KNOW THAT THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL. IT IS TIME FOR ACTION. *TR
IN MODERATE TRAFFIC, I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON GERMANTOWN PKWY. AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, THE LIGHT CHANGED TO RED AND I STOPPED THE VEHICLE. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS AT A DEAD STOP , I NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPING FROM 0 TO 10 AND THEN HIGHER.WITH NO INDICATION WHATSOEVER FROM INSTRUMENTATION, THE ENGINE STALLED. THERE WERE NO INDICATOR SIGNALS AT ALL. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AFTER PLACING THE SHIFT LEVER IN PARK AND TURNING THE KEY. I THEN CONTACTED ON STAR, AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT AND ASKED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THEY REPORTED "AN IGNITION PROBLEM" AND SAID I SHOULD SCHEDULE AN APPT WITH A DEALER. *TR
07 GMC SIERRA(NEW BODY STYLE) WAS PARKED. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AND THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY TURNED THERE WAS A LOUD POP UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END. THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL BUT THE LEFT WOULD. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INNER TIE ROD BECAME UNSCREWED FROM THE RACK STEERING. NEW INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS WERE INSTALLED AND THE TRUCK WAS RE-ALIGNED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN INTERSTATE IT MAY HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. *TR
A DRIVER TURNED LEFT INTO ME AS I WAS GOING THROUGH A GREEN LIGHTED INTERSECTION. HE THOUGHT HE COULD MAKE IT. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN MY VEHICLE, SO I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IMPACT TOTALED MY TRUCK. THE CONTACT WAS ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, SO MAYBE THAT IS WHY. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD REPORT THIS IN CASE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH GM AIR BAGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPARE TIRE CABLE BECAME JAMMED. AS A RESULT, THE SPARE TIRE WAS UNABLE TO BE RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARE TIRE HOIST NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY SERVICE AIR BAGS LIGHT HAS COME ON THE SCREEN AND IT IS STAYING LIT. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS NO FIRE. IT JUST CAME ON. I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS A WHILE AGO. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY VEHICLE FALLS UNDER THIS RECALL? *TR
ON APRIL 13 2014 MY TRUCK WAS LEAKING FUEL TOO BAD TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND COULD NEVER FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THEN ON APRIL 13TH WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME I SMELLED GAS AND HAD TO PULL OVER, FRIGHTENED THAT THE TRUCK MIGHT CATCH FIRE AND EXPLODE. IT SEEMS THERE IS A LEAK AROUND THE FUEL TANK. I NOTIFIED GM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD ONLY PAY FOR A PORTION OF THE REPAIR. ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT STARTED ABOUT THE SAME TIME I STARTED SMELLING GAS WAS THAT THE KEY STARTED GETTING STUCK IN THE START POSITIOIN CONTINUALLY TURNING OVER THE STARTER. I THEN HAVE TO STRUGGLE FORCEFULLY TO GET THE KEY TO TURN TO THE OFF POSITION, FEARFUL OF CAUSING MORE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE OR POSSIBLY CATCHING FIRE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THESE TRUCKS DON'T HAVE A RECALL ON THEM!! *JS
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 GMC SIEARRA CLASSIC 2500HD WT AND MY BRAKE LINE FAILED. I WENT THREW THE STOP SIGN OUT ONTO A MAIN ROAD AND JUST MISSED GETTING T-BONED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. I HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL. MY BRAKES ARE ALL UP TO DATE. BRAND NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. I READ TONS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES BRAKE LINES RUSTING OUT PREMATURELY. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 32,164 MILES ON IT AND IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF. I GET COMPLIMENTS ON MY TRUCK EVERYWHERE I GO. I GOT NOWHERE WITH GM CORPORATE OR MARTY'S GMC IN KINGSTON,MA WHERE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW. THEY ALL PRETENDED THEY DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE BRAKE LINES FAILING. THEY NOW USE A DIFFERENT COATED BRAKE LINE TO REPLACE THE CHEAPLY MADE BRAKE LINES AT THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE. PLEASE MAKE GM DO A SAFETY RECALL ON THESE FAILING RUSTING BRAKE LINES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I WAS ALMOST NOT HERE TO TELL MY STORY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO THE THIRD AND FOURTH GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
BRAKE LINE LEFT FRONT RUSTED THRU . HAD TO USE PARKING BRAKE..HAD TRUCK TAKEN TO SHOP REPLACED LINE WITH STAINLESS STEEL. *JS
THIS IS THE E-MAIL I SENT TO GM REGARDING THE PROBLEM WITH THE BACK SEAT AND HOW I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO MY E-MAIL SO BY THE 8TH DAY I CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY CLOSED THE CASE BASED ON WHAT THE DEALER SAID, "CONDITION DOES NOT REPRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD." I STRONGLY DISAGREED AND PURSUED IT FURTHER GETTING THE SAME ANSWER. HERE IS THE E-MAIL: I HAVE A 2007 SIERRA GMC WITH A BACK SEAT THAT HAS MOVEMENT (PLAY) IN IT DUE TO WHAT GM CALLS A "RATTLE CLIP" BREAKING. I QUESTIONED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN TAKING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIFFERENT REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS JUST A RATTLE CLIP. I HAVE CALLED GM REGARDING THE SAFETY ISSUE AND WAS GIVEN AN AUTHORIZATION FOR A COVERED DIAGNOSTIC ON THE TRUCK. AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP SAID, "FOUND 2 SEAT BACK RATTLE CLIPS BROKEN. CONDITION DOES NOT REPRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD." I DECLINED THE REPAIR BASED ON THE FACT THERE IS NO KNOWN CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE OF THESE CLIPS EXCEPT FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THEY ARE CHEAP PLASTIC. I DO NOT FEEL REPLACING A PLASTIC CLIP WITH ANOTHER PLASTIC CLIP WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY FAIL AND THE SEAT HAS PLAY IN IT. I QUESTION IF THEY WOULD EVEN HOLD IN THE EVENT OF AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT. WHEN STRAPPING IN A CHILD'S CAR SEAT THERE IS TO BE NO MOVEMENT IN IT IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY REASONS. I DO NOT SEE HOW A BACK SEAT THAT HAS A 1 1/2 INCH OR MORE OF PLAY IN IT IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE A VIDEO I WOULD LIKE TO E-MAIL YOU SO YOU CAN DETERMINE THIS FOR YOURSELF. I AM REQUESTING THEY ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE SO MY FAMILY AND ANY OTHER PASSENGERS CAN BE SAFE WHILE RIDING IN MY GMC. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT ALTHOUGH THEY NAMED THIS PART A "RATTLE CLIP" IT SERVE MORE OF A PURPOSE THAN TO JUST STOP A RATTLE NOSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE INTERNAL/EXTERNAL LIGHTS INDEPENDENTLY FLASHED ON/OFF AND THE DOOR LOCKS INDEPENDENTLY LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE FROM 30 TO 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 GMC SIERRA K1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT IMPACT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 143000.
I HAD A 2007 GMC SIERRA. THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THIS VEHICLE I'VE ASK WHY THE 5.3L MOTOR BURNS A QUART OF OIL OR MORE DURING OIL CHANGES. CONSTANTLY ASK MULTIPLE DEALERS TO INSPECT AND THEY CONTINUED TO STATE THAT'S JUST THIS ENGINE AND WOULD NEVER MARK PAPERWORK TO CHECK. ALWAYS STATED IT WILL BURN A LITTLE OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I CONTINUED TO BELIEVE THIS AS OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE TYPE TOLD ME SAME INFORMATION. ON OR AROUND FEB 7, 2014 ENGINE DROPPED CYLINDERS AND LOST MOST POWER TO VEHICLE WHILE ON INTERSTATE. I'M CONCERNED AS IT LOST POWER AND DRAMATICALLY SLOWED BUT ALSO THAT I'VE HAD A FAULTY PRODUCT SINCE BUYING AND NO RECALL WAS ISSUED. I MAINTENANCED THIS VEHICLE PROPERLY. AFTER TELLING ME THE COST TO REPLACE THE 2 CYLINDERS OR ENGINE I HAD A DECISION TO MAKE. THIS ENGINE SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY GM DIDN'T RECALL THE ENGINE AND FIX IT PROPERLY WITHIN MY WARRANTY TIMEFRAME. I EVEN BOUGHT EXTENDED WARRANTY. NOW I'VE HAD TO BUY NEW TRUCK WHICH I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IF ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING IN 2007 GMC TRUCK. THESE "ECO" ENGINES NEED TO BE REVIEWED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CYLINDER HEADS WERE CRACKED AND LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
DASH IS CRACKED AROUND THE AIR BAG. CRACKED IN THREE PLACES, IF IN A CRASH DASH MAY EXPLODE INTO SHARP PIECES AND CAUSE MORE DAMAGE. SCARED THE DASH WILL CRUMBLE IN A CRASH AND NOT PROVIDE ANY NEEDED SUPPORT.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED WHEN I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL (IT WENT TO THE FLOOR) AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP. I LOST ALL NORMAL BRAKING ABILITY AND HAD TO STOP BY DOWN SHIFTING AND APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK STOPPED AND GOT OUT, I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS POURING OUT ONTO THE GROUND. A QUALIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED THE TRUCK AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND HAD RUPTURED. HE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A FREQUENTLY OCCURRING KNOW PROBLEM WITH GMC PICKUP TRUCKS AND THAT GMC REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE BOUGHT THE TRUCK USED I HAVE EMAILED GMC THAT I WAS HAVING ISSUE UPON DOING SO THEY HAD SENT ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL WHICH I TRIED AND IT SAID IT WOULD NOT LET ME FROM MY AREA I EMAILED THEM AGAIN AND THEY DID NOT REPLY. MY MASTER CYLINDER WENT OUT ON MY GMC SIERRA 1500 WT EXTENDED CAB AND I FOUND UPON REPLACING THE MASTER THAT THEY USED A 2006 MASTER CYLINDER ON WHAT THEY CALL A 2007 VEHICLE .. I TRIED HARD BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW DID THEY USE 06 ON MY 07 TRUCK TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS IT IS IMPORTANT. NOW A FEW MONTHS LATER I AM NOTICING THAT UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SIDE THAT ONE OF THE BRAKE LINES IS STARTING TO LEAK I STILL ONLY HAVE 48000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE NO WAY NO HOW SHOULD THE LINES HAVE ROTTED OUT THIS EARLY OR CORRODED GMCS ANSWER IS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. BEING ON DISABILITY I WILL HAVE TO COME UP WITH CLOSE TO 300 DOLLARS TO REPLACE ALL THE LINES BEFORE THEY BLOW OUT AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE A MAJOR ACCIDENT WHICH GMC DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE THAT THEY HAVE INSTALLED DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT PREMATURELY FAIL. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
BRAKE LINE BURST WHEN I PUMPED BRAKE PEDAL PRIOR TO START OF TRAILERING A HORSE TRAILER. GMC DEALER STATED BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH. DEALER HAD INSPECTED VEHICLE WEEK BEFORE DURING TUNE-UP AND DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF RUST OR ISSUES WITH BRAKE AND FUEL LINES RUSTING IN GM TRUCKS. I FOUND REPORTED ISSUES WITH RUSTING BRAKE LINES IN GM TRUCKS PER MY OWN RESEARCH. BRAKE LINES ARE BEING REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AT A GREEN LIGHT ANOTHER VEHICLE ILLEGALLY ENTERED THE INTERSECTION. I SAW THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP BUT WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND NO BRAKING ACTION OCCURRED. I WAS TOLD I BLEW A BRAKE LINE. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED OF THE DAMAGE FROM THE ACCIDENT BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE BRAKE LINE REPAIR. AFTER GETTING THE TRUCK BACK I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR AN ALIGNMENT WITHIN A FEW DAYS. WHILE THE REPAIR SHOP WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN FOR THE ALIGNMENT A SECOND BRAKE LINE BLEW. THERE IS NOT A RECALL FROM GMC AND THERE NO REASON WHY THE BRAKES LINES SHOULD BE RUSTING OUT AND BLOWING ON A CAR THAT IS WELL MAINTAINED. *TR

ONE OF THE ELECTRICALLY POWERED, FOLDING EXTERNAL MIRROR ASSEMBLIES BECAME INOPERABLE ON MY 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500 PICKUP TRUCK WHICH LED TO THE ENTIRE MIRROR ASSEMBLY BECOMING LOOSE. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE MIRROR ASSEMBLY WILL SLIGHTLY MOVE BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO ERRONEOUSLY SENSE MOVEMENT OF HIS VEHICLE OR ERRONEOUS MOVEMENT OF AN ADJACENT VEHICLE. THIS FALSE SENSING OF VEHICLE MOVEMENT IS VERY DISTRACTING, CAUSING A DRIVER TO LOSE FOCUS ON THE ROAD AND TO LOSE FOCUS ON THE OPERATION OF HIS VEHICLE. THE CONDITION IS DISTRACTING ENOUGH THAT IT MAY, IN SOME DRIVERS, INDUCE VERTIGO WHICH COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC RESULTS. *TR ## VIN FAILED ##

HEATER MOTOR CONTINUES TO RUN AFTER THE SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, THE BLOWER ONLY WORKS RANDOMLY. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM IN A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT GM VEHICLES. THERE IS A CHANCE OF ELECTRICAL FIRE WITH THE BEING ABLE TO RUN WITH THE SWITCH OFF ALSO THE REPORT WOULD NOT PULL A LIST OF PARTS NOR WOULD IT PERMIT ME TO TYPE IN THE PARTS: HEATER MOTOR BLOWER RESISTOR, AND WIRING CONNECTORS. *TR
CRACKED DASH OVER AIRBAG AND STEERING COLUMN. UPPER GLOVE BOX IS PROTRUDING OUT FROM DASH WARPING.
HVAC SYSTEM BECAME OPERATIONAL WITH THE IGNITION TURNED OFF FOR AN UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. RELAY RESISTOR MODULE OVERHEATED CAUSING MELTING OF THE RESISTOR AND CIRCUIT BOARD. TRUCK CABIN AND VICINITY AROUND THE TRUCK HAD A STRONG SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC. TRUCK CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE. WAS ONLY ABLE TO TURN OFF THE HVAC SYSTEM AND STOP THE BURNING BY DISCONNECTING THE WIRING HARNESS. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR, RESISTOR, MODULE CONNECTOR AND RELAY. BURNING COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO OTHER VEHICLES PARKED NEARBY AND THE HOUSE IN WHICH THE GARAGE WAS ATTACHED. ISSUE WAS IDENTICAL TO SCENARIO DESCRIBED IN TRANSPORT CANADA RECALL #2011074. *TR
CRACKS AROUND AIR BAG IN DASH PASSENGER SIDE, SHARP PLASTIC PARTS COULD INJURE OCCUPANTS IN CASE OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS IS COMMON ON MOST 07 GM PICKUPS. THE DEALERS WILL NOT REPAIR THIS.. THE PLASTIC IS BRITTLE AND HAS SHARP EDGES.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT A RATE OF 20 MPH AND STARTED STOPPING AND NOTICE THE BRAKES WHERE GOING OUT. I HAD THEN LOST BRAKE PRESSURE ALTOGETHER. USED THE PARKING BRAKE TO GET STOPPED AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HE CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND ALL THE BRAKE LINES TO BE RUSTED OUT, AND HAD LOST ALL BRAKE FLUID. UPON FINDING THIS HE FOUND THE MAJORITY OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE TO HAVE SEVERE RUST DAMAGE AN SEVERAL PARTS ALSO. *TR
70,000 MILES LOW OIL LIGHT COMES ON, JUST HAD MY OIL CHANGED 1000 MILE BEFORE. TOOK IN TO GM DEALER THEY TOLD ME OIL PAN GASKET WAS BAD. REPAIRED. 1000 MILES LATER LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP. NO ISSUE FOUND. TRUCK JUST BURNING OIL! *TR THE TRUCK KEEPS USING 2 TO 3 QUARTS OF OIL DEALER WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. CALL GM THEY ADVISE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP AND DO OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. DID THIS TAKING IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP EVERY 500 MILES TO HAVE OIL CHECKED. USED 2-1/2 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. TOLD DEALER THIS WAS NOT NORMAL TO FIX MY TRUCK. DEALER ADVISED GM WOULD NOT FIX MY TRUCK BECAUSE THIS IS NORMAL USAGE. IT IS NOW USING ABOUT 3 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. GM TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO DEALER TO HAVE ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DONE. WE SEE THEY HIDE PROBLEMS WELL, AS WAS THE LAST RECALL. HOW ABOUT GETTING THEM TO ADDRESS OR FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE STILL ADVERTISING THE AFM ENGINE , AND RAISING THE NORMAL OIL USAGE FROM A QUART TO 2 QUARTS. AS ANYONE CAN SEE WITH THE LATEST RECALLS THEY WILL HIDE OR NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE. NOT THE CUSTOMER. SEE HOW MANY CHANGES AND SERVICE BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED DUE TO THIS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. MY GM CASE # 71-1118075589. THEY TEND TO CLOSE THESE CASE NUMBERS QUICK. AND THEN THEY ASSIGN YOU ANOTHER CASE NUMBER EACH TIME YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HIDE THE FACT THEY HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN DEALER DOES OIL CONSUMPTION I FIND THEY DO NOT SHOW ANYTHING BACK TO GM OR ATTACH A RECORD TO YOUR VIN #. LAST COUPLE OF TIME I SPOKE TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME EVER HAVING AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. AND MY LAST CASE NUMBER DID NOT SHOW UP IN THEIR SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,616.
2007 GMC CREWCAB SIERRA WITH 5.3 LITER ,AUTO, HAS HAD THREE PLASTIC FUEL LINE FAILURES IN LAST TWO YEARS. IT IS AT A REPAIR SHOP BUT HAS ABOUT 35000 MILES ON IT. *TR
THE FRONT DASH ON OUR TRUCK CRACKED. IT IS A VERY LARGE CRACK AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY SINCE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED INSIDE THE DASH. USED IN CANADA IN THE SUMMER AND FLORIDA IN WINTER MONTHS. ONLY EXPOSURE TO SALT AND SNOW IS WHEN ENCOUNTERED ON TRIPS TO AND FROM FLORIDA. VEHICLE WAS UNDERCOATED AT PURCHASE.
