I PURCHASED THE 2003 YUKON USED IN DECEMBER 2006. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THIS SUV I NOTICED THE CLUNKING SOUND AND COULD FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS I BEGAN TO NOTICE THE LACK OF STEERING ASSIST. THEN LAST WEEK WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO A SIDE STREET, THE STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO ALMOST SIDE SWIPE A CAR IN THE OPPOSING LANE. I HAD TO JAM ON MY BRAKES TO AVOID SLAMMING INTO THE OTHER CAR. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT HE THOUGHT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ISSUED, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE ANY DOCUMENTATION. I RESEARCHED YOUR WEB SITE AND FOUND DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS VERY SAME STEERING FAILURE, BUT NO RECALL INFORMATION WAS FOUND. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER THAT STATED SHE WOULD EXPERIENCE FAILURES WITH HER VEHICLE'S INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES. THE DIAL MAY STICK, FLUTTER, OR BECOME INOPERABLE, WHICH MAY RESULT IN INACCURATE READINGS FROM THE SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE. SHE CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS OVER THE 70,000 MILE OR SEVEN YEAR LIMIT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 89,437. UPDATED 01-10-08. *KB UPDATED 01/08/08
WHILE DRIVING MY 2003 GMC YUKON THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN ACTING ERRATICALLY. TRAVEL AT 55 - 60 MPH SHOWS 60 -120 MPH IT IS NOW STUCK AT 70 MPH WHILE PARKED WITH THE IGNITION OFF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED ZERO AND THEN INCREASED TO OVER 100 MPH. THE FUEL AND WATER GAUGES INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EMPTY WHEN THE CONTACT FILLS IT UP. THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT ONLY VEHICLES WITH 70,000 MILES OR LESS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. HE FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 98,000.
VIBRATION OF STEERING WHEEL AND PEDALS AT IDLE ON 2003 GMC YUKON XL 5.3L. DEALER STATES CLEANING THROTTLE BODY WILL FIX, HAD DEALER DO CLEANING STILL IDLES ROUGH AND STILL VIBRATES, DEALER THEN STATES ITS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. *JB
I RECEIVED A LETTER ON A RE-CALL ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGE MAY STICK, FLUTTER, OR BECOME INOPERATIVE. THIS MAY CAUSE INACCURATE READINGS, INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE. MANUFACTURER WILL REPLACE AT NO CHARGE IF YOUR UNDER THE WARRANTY 7 YEARS OR 70,000 MILES WHICH I FILL IS VERY CLEAVER FOR THEM. *JB
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS (LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR) OR STARTING FROM A STOP, THE TRACTION CONTROL WILL AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS APPLIED. WHEN THE TRACTION CONTROL ENGAGES, A TOTAL LOSS OF INPUT TO THE ENGINE RESULTS AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE (IT ESSENTIALLY STALLS). I WAS ALMOST STRUCK IN AN INTERSECTION WHILE WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A GREEN LIGHT IN EARLY DECEMBER OF 2011. I WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WAITING TO TURN LEFT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT, I GAVE THE GAS PEDAL SOME INPUT, THE TRACTION CONTROL ENGAGED, AND MY VEHICLE STOPPED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ENGINE INPUT AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN ON-COMING CAR. LUCKILY, THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE AND I KNEW TO EITHER FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL OR TO LET OFF THE GAS ENTIRELY AND THEN FLOOR IT AGAIN TO GET THE TRACTION CONTROL TO DISENGAGE AND GET POWER TO THE ENGINE. ANOTHER RELATED ISSUE IS THE ABS ENGAGING FOR NO REASON. THIS ALSO HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS (LESS THAN 10 MPH). WHEN THE ABS ENGAGES, THE VEHICLE WILL TRAVEL ANOTHER TWO TO THREE FEET PRIOR TO STOPPING. THE ABS ISSUE RESULTED IN MY HITTING A POLE IN A PARKING LOT. IT TOOK SEVERAL YEARS TO FINALLY DETERMINE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND IT TURNS OUT IT WAS A RESULT OF FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CORROSION AND AN INCREASED AIR GAP BETWEEN THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND THE RELUCTOR RING DUE TO RUST AND DEBRIS BUILT UP ON THE SENSOR MOUNTING SURFACE. GM ACKNOWLEDGED THIS WITH A SAFETY RECALL (#05068C: PRODUCT SAFETY) FOR SOME VEHICLE MODEL YEARS 1999-2002. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND GM FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THAT VEHICLES LIKE MINE (A 2003) AND EVEN LATER MODELS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT IS EVEN MORE FRUSTRATING IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT "REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ." I WOULD ENCOURAGE THE NHSTA TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. *KB
SPEEDOMETER IS MALFUNCTIONING. READS SPEED INCORRECTLY AND "STICKS" AT 70 MPH WHEN STOPPED, MOVES ABOVE 120 MPH WHEN TRAVEL SPEED IS ONLY ~40 MPH. *JB
MY SPEEDOMETER BEGAN ACTING ERRATICALLY, INDICATING 80 MPH WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, STICKING WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING. SOMETIMES IT INDICATES 20 MPH WHEN I AM ON THE FREEWAY. I RESEARCHED THIS ON THE INTERNET AND DISCOVERED OVER 1,000 POSTS FROM CHEVROLET AND GMC OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THERE IS AN EFFORT FROM OWNERS TO DEMAND A RECALL. I DIDN'T DISCOVER THIS UNTIL JUST AFTER I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I CHECKED MY SPEED AS I APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION AND THOUGHT I WAS GOING A SAFE SPEED (I WAS UNDER THE POSTED LIMIT). A CAR PULLED IN FRONT OF ME AND I COLLIDED WITH IT. EVEN THOUGH THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT MY FAULT, THE DAMAGE TO THE OTHER CAR WAS MORE THAN I EXPECTED THAN WOULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED AT MY INDICATED SPEED. I DIDN'T KNOW MY SPEEDOMETER WAS GOING BAD. *TR
ALL GAUGES IN DASH ARE NOT WORKING. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SINCE EARLY 2006. TOOK TO THE DEALER TO FIX, BUT AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. WHEN I WOULD TAKE BACK TO THE DEALER OF COURSE IT WAS WORKING AGAIN AND DIDN'T NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME. NOW HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY, IE. 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 5 DAYS. THE OTHER DAY WE LEFT THE HOUSE AND NOTHING WAS WORKING, HOWEVER WHEN WE LEFT TO GO HOME THE GAUGES WERE WORKING AGAIN. THEN 2 DAYS LATER EVERYTHING WAS WORKING JUST FINE, THEN WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE AGAIN NOTHING WAS WORKING, BUT BY THE NEXT MORNING EVERYTHING WAS WORKING JUST FINE, UNTIL TODAY AGAIN. *TR
I CAME UP ON AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS ALREADY HAPPENING AND HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES. AT THAT TIME MY 2003 YUKON DENALI DID NOT STOP IN TIME AND I HIT ANOTHER CAR GOING AT LEAST 45 MILES AN HOUR IN THE REAR. MY WHOLE FRONT END WAS SMASHED IN AND THE PASSENGER HIT THE DASH BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE ONSTAR STOPPED WORKING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. AFTER 20 FEET, THE VEHICLE STOPPED. SHE PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER, AND WAITED APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC, BUT NO FAILURE COULD BE IDENTIFIED. THIS WAS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THIS FAILURE. ON THE FIRST OCCASION, MIDAS CHECKED THE BRAKES, BUT ALSO COULD NOT IDENTIFY A FAILURE. THERE IS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE SHE IS EXPERIENCING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,100. UPDATED 07/29/08.*LJ THE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN AT TIMES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR AND THE MOTOR. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL GET STUCK OR GO UP AND GET STUCK AT A CERTAIN SPEED EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION. WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE ENGINE IT WILL REMAIN AT THAT SPEED AND WHEN YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE AND BEGIN MOTION, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL INCREASE THUS RESULTING IN INACCURATE SPEED. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY SPEEDOMETER STUCK AT SEVENTY, THEN WENT WOULDN'T DROP WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THEN WHEN STOPPED IT WAS AT SEVENTY. THEN WHEN I WENT TO THE STORE AND WAS GOING ABOUT THIRTY, IT REGISTERED I WAS GOING 105. WHEN TURNED OFF IT STAYS UP AT AROUND 70 TO 80. *TR
INSTRUMENT PANEL INOPERATIVE RECALL NOTICE FOR 7 YEARS/70,000 MILES, RECEIVED AFTER 71,000 MILES EVEN WHEN PROBLEM STARTED AT 64,000 MILES, ALL GAUGES GO OUT AT RANDOM AND IS INTERMENT. A CALL TO GENERAL MOTORS AND AN HOUR OF TIME I WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE I WAS OUT OF RECALL NOTICE MILEAGE AND I WAS OUT OF LUCK AND HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF. *JB *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF UPDATED 12/12/07 *TR
INCORRECT SPEEDOMETER READING. SOMETIMES READS ZERO ON THE HIGHWAY, SOMETIMES MIGHT READ 40 OR 50 WHILE DOING 55 (CHECKED WITH GPS). SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE ON REALLY HOT DAYS, BUT ALSO SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO HAPPEN AT ANY TIME (THOUGH IT DOES NOT DO IT ALL OF THE TIME, IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE MID-2006). *TR
FRONT RIGHT BEARING FAILED AT 50K MILES ON A 2003 YUKON XL. HAVING READ THE BLOGS THIS APPEARS COMMON. *TR
HINGE ON GLASS IN TRUNK DOOR BROKE. *TR
2003 GMC DENALI FRONT TRANSFER CASE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED A LOUD NOISE FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN IT STOPPED, SO I DROVE ON HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING I DROPPED IT OFF AT MY PERSONAL REPAIR SHOP. TO HIS FINDINGS IT WAS THE FRONT TRANSFER CASE. SO HE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND TALKED TO SOMEONE HE KNEW THAT WORKED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD REPAIRED SEVERAL DENALI'S WITH THE SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM JUST THIS YEAR. *JB

MY 2003 GMC DENALI IS KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE AND DEALER SAY'S IT'S NORMAL AND WILL NOT REPLACE MOTOR AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS GOING TO BE UP IN A FEW HUNDRED MILES WHAT DO I DO??? *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE HAD SEPARATED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH THE SPARE. THE TIRES WERE CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC SUV P225/70R16. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 46,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE FOR DRIVING 90 MPH, HOWEVER, THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED 50 MPH. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 60,000.
2 INCIDENTS. 1) ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, RESTARTED AND THE PROBLEM WAS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED. 2) WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE FAILED. SAME CORRECTIVE MEASURES TAKE, AND PROBLEM WAS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED. INTERNET SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT THERE IS NOT TSB OR RECALL. WHY? *TR
BRAKE FAILURE AT 34000 MILES. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EVERYTIME HE ACTIVATED HIS LEFT TURN SIGNAL, THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE. SECONDLY, THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL WERE INOPERATIVE. THIRDLY, THE BATTERY CONSTANTLY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. LASTLY, WHEN SWITCHING GEARS ON THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND A TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TWICE, AND THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL AS WELL. EVEN AFTER ALL OF THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES STILL PERSIST. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,400.
HAD MY TRUCK INSPECTED WITH 16,700 MILES ON IT. WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO HAVE THE REAR ROTORS TURNED OR REPLACED. THE MECHANIC SAID GM HAD A PROBLEM WITH BAD METAL ON A FEW MODELS THAT CORRODED PREMATURELY. THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. MY TRUCK IS A03 YUKON XL ONLY DRIVEN ON SOME WEEKENDS AND NEVER BEEN IN ANY TYPE OF CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENT. *TR
"TRACTION SYSTEM" ON 2003 GMC YUKON IS FAULTY AND CAUSES VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY LOSE MOMENTUM IN TRAFFIC. *TR
SPEEDOMETER FIRST EXCEEDED ACTUAL SPEED BY 20 TO 50 MPH THEN WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. CALLED IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER - RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID WAS FIXED. 2 WEEKS LATER PROBLEM RECURRED - NOW THEY WANT $500 TO $1000 TO FIX. ASKED IF THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM THEY DENIED ANY ISSUE HOWEVER INTERNET SEARCH REVEALS THIS IS VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE AND HAS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS HAZARDOUS IMPACT. *JB
SPEEDOMETER FAILURE. NO CRASH OR INJURIES. THE PART WAS REPLACED. THE OLD PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THE NEW PART HAS INTERMITTENT FLUCTUATIONS. *TR
2003 GMC YUKON XL COMPLAINT #1. SPEEDOMETER IS ERRATIC. ODOMETER READS ONLY 79,000 MILES. A FEW MONTHS AGO, AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPED TO 60 MPH WHICH CAUSED THE NEEDLE TO READ 120 AT THE ACTUAL 60. IF YOU SHUT OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTED THE CAR, THE NEEDLE WOULD DROP ABOUT 5 MPH EACH TIME. IF YOU REPEATED THIS PROCEDURE (STARTING ENGINE, SHUTTING OFF ENGINE) AFTER 10-12 TIMES THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ ZERO AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. YESTERDAY AS I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, WHERE THE SPEED IS 75 MPH, AND PULLED ONTO OUR LOCAL ROAD WHERE THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT IS 50, I NOTICED THAT I WAS HOLDING UP TRAFFIC ALTHOUGH THE SPEEDOMETER READ 50. I FELT AS IF I WAS NOT ACTUALLY DOING 50 SO I SPED UP EVEN THOUGH THE NEEDLE READ 65MPH. I PULLED OVER TO SEE IF INDEED THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING INACCURATELY, AND IT WAS. THIS TIME STUCK AT 15 MPH. I AGAIN REPEATED THE ENGINE OFF/ON PROCEDURE TO GET THE NEEDLE BACK TO ZERO, BUT NOTICED IT JUMPING AND NOT RESPONDING QUICKLY AT STOP SIGNS. I HAVE READ REVIEWS ABOUT COMPLAINTS WITH THE SPEEDOMETERS BUT DO NOT SEE YUKON XLS AS PART OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS IS A VERY FRIGHTENING ISSUE AS I HAVE A 16-YEAR-OLD THAT WILL BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON HER OWN IN JUST A FEW MONTHS. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD ADDRESS THIS BEFORE SOMEONE'S DRIVING RECORD IS TARNISHED FOR UNINTENTIONAL SPEEDING RESULTING IN TICKETS AND INSURANCE INCREASES...AND POSSIBLY EVEN ACCIDENTS RESULTING IN DEATH. COMPLAINT #2. FUEL GAUGE STICKS AT FULL MARK UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 1/4 TANK OF GAS IS USED, THEN GAUGE WILL DROP. ALSO STICKS AT 1/4 TANK THEN DROPS AGAIN TO EMPTY. DUE TO INABILITY TO PROVE THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT REPAIR. *JB
AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR HAS GONE OUT A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES AND ONLY HAS 70K MILES. FIRST TIME WAS AROUND 12K MILES, SECOND TIME WAS AROUND 33K MILES AND NOW IT IS NOT WORKING AT ALL AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *JB
I WAS SOLD A USED CAR IN FLORIDA WITH DEPLOYED AIRBAGS. I NEED HELP IN GETTING THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED. THE SHOP THAT FIXED THE CAR AS WELL AS THE USED CAR DEALER SAY THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AND I BEG TO DIFFER AS THEY REPRESENTED THE CAR AS BEING FIXED 100%. *JB

SPEEDOMETER READS HIGH, SOMETIMES UP TO 60 MPH WHEN CAR IF NOT RUNNING STANDING STILL. WORSE CASE WAS PEGGED AT 120 MPH +. *JB
2003 GMC YUKON. BOTH REAR ROTORS AND FRONT WHEEL HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY UNITS WERE REPLACED. THE REAR ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY DETERIORATED. *MC THE CONSUMER STATED A NATIONAL RECALL SHOULD BE MANDATED AND NOT LIMITED TO JUST 14 STATES REGARDING THE ABS. *JB
ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY SPEEDOMETER SHOWED MY HUSBAND DOING 60 MPH WHEN IN REALITY HE WAS DOING ABOUT 10. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS FINE. SINCE I FIRST REPORTED IT AT THE SECOND OCCURRENCE - AT WHICH I WAS 306 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY - THE DEALER IS CHARGING ME $575 TO REPLACE THE CLUSTER. *JB
THE SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING. IT WILL INCREASE IN SPEED, BUT NOT GO DOWN. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS OVER 100 MPH, OR WILL POINT STRAIGHT DOWN. *JB
HEADLIGHT FLICKER HAD DEALER WORK ON IT AND REPLACE ONE HEADLIGHT BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DEALER SAID THIS WAS NORMAL. NOTICE THE FLICKER WHEN I GO OVER BUMPS OR WHEN CORNERING TO THE LEFT. *NM

TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT COMPLAINED ABOUT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT PERIODICALLY GOT N STUCK, AND ONE HAD TO UNBUCKLE IT AND TRY AGAIN. THIS FAILURE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED 50 TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE BOTH 10,0000.*AK
2003 YUKON XL SPEEDOMETER ON 75 MPH AT REST AND READING 120+ ON HIGHWAY. STOPPED TOWARD END OF HIGHWAY TRIP, CAR SLOWED SPEEDOMETER STUCK AND SEEMED LIKE NEEDLE GEARING SKIPPED. ACCELERATE AND 0 EQUALS 75 AND 65 EQUALS 120+. LOOKED FOR REPAIR ADVICE AND FOUND MANY WITH SAME PROBLEM. *JB
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2003 GMC YUKON DENALI, WITH 40,000 MILES, HAS QUIT WORKING. THROUGH RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT MANY GM OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AND GM INSISTS ON REPAIR COSTS RANGING FROM $500 TO $1000 DOLLARS. THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THEN HIGH WAY. THIS FAILURE CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS AS WELL AS FINANCIAL BURDENS WHEN HAVING TO PAY FOR SPEEDING TICKETS DUE TO THE FAILURE TO MAINTAIN A SAFE SPEED. AT THIS POINT NOTHING HAS BEEN REPAIRED AS I REFUSE TO PAY GM TO REPAIR A DEFECTIVE PART, WHICH THEY ARE AWARE OF. I UNDERSTAND THAT A FATALITY HAS TO OCCUR BEFORE THE NTHSA AND/OR GM TO TAKE ACTION TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *NM

THE SPEEDOMETER AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE ON MY 2003 YUKON XL DO NOT CONSISTENTLY OPERATE CORRECTLY. GAUGES INDICATE SPEEDS AND PRESSURES THAT ARE NOT CORRECT. *NM
IN OCT 06 MY SPEEDOMETER STARTED STICKING AND 120+ EVEN WHEN SITTING STILL. I CHECKED WITH A LOCAL SHOP AND WAS ADVISED IT WOULD NEED TO BE RECALIBRATED WHICH INVOLVED TAKING THE DASH APART SENDING IT OFF AND BEING WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 5-7 DAYS. I COULDN'T DO THAT AT THE TIME. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER IT JUST STARTED WORKING AGAIN AND HAD WORKED FINE UNTIL 12/22/06 AND NOW IT IS DOING IT AGAIN ALL THE TIME. I JUST THINK FOR WHAT THESE VEHICLES COST THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. I FEAR EVERYDAY OF GETTING A TICKET, BUT AT THIS TIME I CANNOT AFFORD THE REPAIR OR BEING WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR A WEEK. *NM

I HAVE A 2003 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY VEHICLE IS FAULTY. AT ONE POINT I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND MY SPEEDOMETER DISPLAY SHOWED THAT I WAS TRAVELING 120 MPH. MY WIFE RECEIVED A SPEEDING FOR TRAVELING 70 MPH IN A 50 MPH ZONE. AT THE TIME THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED THAT SHE WAS ONLY TRAVELING 50 MPH. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM BECAUSE WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WE NEVER REALLY KNOW HOW FAST OR SLOW WE ARE ACTUALLY TRAVELING. HAVE SPOKE WITH OTHER CONSUMERS WHO OWN GMC YUKON AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THEY HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SPEEDOMETER. *JB
