ON MARCH 12 MY FAMILY WAS IN A BAD ACCIDENT. WE WERE CUT OFF BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS RAINING..THE YUKON SLID..HIT THE BARRIER..FLIPPED 3 TIMES..FINALLY STOPPING UPSIDE DOWN..BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE ARE ALIVE TODAY...THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY..WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MILES WHEN THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED.
THE POWER IN THE DASH IS GONE SO YOU CAN'T SEE THE SPEED THE TEMP GAGE OR THE OIL PRESSURE GAGE.
AIRBAG SYSTEM FAILURE NOTED BY WARNING LIGHT. INSPECTED BY GMC DEALER WHO COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. RECOMMENDED COMPLETE CONTROL SYSTEM REPLACEMENT >$1000.00. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 GMC YUKON DENALI. IT HAS 56,000 MILES. THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS $50 TO SCAN SYSTEM AND $580 TO FIX THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR. THE OLD PART IS STILL ON MY CAR BECAUSE I AM NOT PAYING THAT FOR A $25.00 PART. I THINK THIS IS RIDICULOUS. NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE GOING FOREIGN AND GETTING 10 YEARS/100K MILE WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON CRASH IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE POLICE APPEARED ON THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED VIA AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL TO TREAT INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INSURANCE COMPANY LOT BUT DID NOT HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
WE WERE HEADED BACK TO OUR HOTEL ROOM, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN A DEER JUMPS OUT IN FRONT OF US, AND WE AVOIDED THE DEER BY SWERVING AND MISSING IT. UNFORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE OVER CORRECTED AND WE ENDED UP ROLLING IT. NO AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED, AND MY SEAT BELT CAME UNDONE AND I WAS THROWN AROUND IN THE VEHICLE AS IT ROLLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD TRAUMA, KNEE AND ANKLE WAS FRACTURED. THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A RIPPED EYE LID, AND THE REAR SIDE PASSENGER SUSTAINED 4 FRACTURED TEETH AND DAMAGED HER INTESTINE. A FATALITY WAS REPORTED ON THE OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON XL. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE SIDE MIDDLE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SOFT TISSUE INJURIES TO HER NECK, SHOULDER, BACK, AND LEGS. THE DRIVER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 41,500.

SECOND ROW OUTSIDE SAFETY BELTS INTERMITTENTLY DO NOT RETRACT OR ALLOW EXTENSION. SEATS ARE PRESENTLY USED WITH BOOSTER SEATS FOR TWIN BOYS, AND INTERMITTENT FAILURES HAVE CAUSED US TO HAVE TO MOVE BOOSTERS TO OTHER SEATS FOR SAFETY REASONS. *JB
THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF IN MY VEHICLE. WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN MAY AND JUNE AND AGAIN IN NOVEMBER. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DETECT PROBLEM. GM HAS SPOKE WITH MYSELF AND THE DEALERSHIP. GM HAS TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, IF THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IS GOES ON AND OFF AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND THERE IS NO PATTERN TO IT. IT DIDN'T COME ON FOR 3 MONTHS AND IS NOW COMING ON AGAIN. I HAVE CONTACTED ON-STAR WHEN IT COMES ON AT TIMES AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY. I AM WORRIED THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL GO OFF WHEN I'M JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AND DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS SAFE FOR THEM, MYSELF, OR THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I AM HIGHLY DISCOURAGED THAT GM IS NOT BEING MORE ACTIVE IN TRYING TO HELP WITH THIS SITUATION THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH! *NM
WHILE RESTRAINED THE CHILD WAS ABLE TO REACH THE STANDARD SAFETY BELT AND WRAP IT AROUND HIS/HER NECK TWICE. THE RETRACTOR LOCKED THE BELT STRANGLING THE CHILD. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO REMOVE CHILD FROM THE BELT BEFORE BEING STRANGLED TO DEATH. *AK *JB *NM
2004 GMC YUKON DENALI. SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUED TO GO ON BUT THERE NEVER SEEMED TO BE A PROBLEM WITH IT. *CW THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, HOWEVER GMC DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD OVER 100,000 MILES. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATES WHILE RIDING AS A PASSENGER IN FRONT OR BACK WHEN MOVING FORWARD OR THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED THE SEAT BELT WILL LOCK AND WILL NOT RELEASE. UNTIL THE SEAT BELT IS RELEASED THE OCCUPANT MOVES TRYING TO RELEASE THE TENSION. THIS CAUSES THE TENSION TO KEEP GETTING TIGHTER. THE ONLY WAY TO RELEASE THE TENSION IN THE SEATBELT IS TO UNLATCH THE SEAT BELT. THE SERVICE DEALER STATED THE SEAT BELTS WERE WORKING PROPERLY. IT CONTINUED TO HAPPEN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SERVICE DEALER, THEY STATED THIS WAS A DESIGN FAILURE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DO ABOUT IT. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
