Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while attempting to trade the vehicle in, the dealer discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy, per the Carfax report. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 165,563. The actual mileage could not be determined because the Carfax report displayed that the mileage had drastically fluctuated over the years. No other agency was contacted.
275 55r20 Sidewalls are separating like dryrotted. Bad and severe problems and have been reported to Bridgestone warranty and recall department with no actio taken at this time.
My vehicle is supposed to have a sensor wire for a break master cylinder and it doesn’t
It is just like the the service bulletin out for the 2006 and later gmc sierra except it’s for a 2004 gmc Yukon slt 4x4 4.8L. It is going into reduced engine power mode and it has to do with the throttle actuator control module. Throws code P2108
A severely cracked dashboard in 5 different places right over the air bags.
My kids and I was on the interstate and all of sudden my yukon reduce engine power.Dropping to 30 in a speed zone of 70.I was very afraid for our safety and appreciate there concerns for reducing engine power to save the truck,but that's very dangerous. So I paid to replace the throttle body and gas pedal cause that was the codes for the problem. But it's still doing the same thing and I don't have money to keep buying parts.Plus it a gm problem and I really need some help with the fixture..
2004 YUKON XL WITH 91,880 MILES. REPLACEMENT LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING/HUB FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY AT 6,046 MILES OF SERVICE. THE BEARING SEPARATED COMPLETELY LEADING TO A TOWING EVENT. VEHICLE WAS ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND TRAVELING AT 70 MPH, IN A STRAIGHT LINE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID THE DRIVE SHAFT ON THE 4WD VEHICLE WAS THE ONLY THING RETAINING THE WHEEL. THE PRIOR BEARING WAS REPLACED AT 85,878 MILES. THE BEARING WAS INSTALLED AT AFTERMARKET SERVICE CENTER. THE HUB FACE HAS THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS ETCHED ON IT. 730-0093, 12FR18107. WHEN I LOOK THIS UP IT APPEARS TO BE A BEARING MADE BY GNB. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT INDICATING WHAT GEAR THE TRANSMISSION IS IN IS OUT AND THEREFORE DRIVER CANNOT TELL WHICH GEAR THE VEHICLE IS IN, AND EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD.
While driving on the freeway at 75 mph I felt significant reduction in speed and the rpms went pretty high. It felt as if I had my foot on the accelerator and the brake at the same time. There was also a burnt smell. After a few minutes it went back to normal. This continued to happen sporadically so I took it to my mechanic he inspected the vehicle could not find an issue he also ran a code scan. No codes pertaining to this issue only knocker sensor and O2 sensor. I replaced those anyway. Then a few days later I was driving to work at it happened again going about 55 mph it felt like the transmission had downshift to a very low gear there was smoke and really bad burning smell. I pulled over immediately and called my mechanic. He towed the vehicle to his shop still could not find a problem. After several months of sitting I had to drive the vehicle home. After approximately 5 miles there was smoke and small flames coming from behind the front drivers side wheel. My mechanic checked the brake, it had engaged without me pressing the pedal and stuck. Now we are having issues getting brake fluid to the rear brakes. Possibly the proportioning valve.

CLUSTER DASHBOARD FAILS TO LIGHT UP WHEN THE KEY TURNS ON THE VEHICLE. NONE IS THE DASHBOARD INDICATORS MOVE OR LIGHT UP, NOT ABLE TO SEE SPEED, MILES, GAS GAGE, ETC. IT TAKES 40 MINUTE INTO A DRIVE BEFORE IT TURNS ON RANDOMLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. KING O'ROUKE GMC (756 SMITHTOWN BYPASS, SMITHTOWN, NY) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING AT A MODERATE RATE OF SPEED, THE BRAKE LINE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT A BRAKE LINE HAD BURST AND THAT ANOTHER BRAKE LINE WAS ON THE VERGE OF BURSTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FOUR SEASONS FORD (601 DUNCAN HILL RD, HENDERSONVILLE, NC 28792, (828) 693-4281) WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD ONLY GIVE HIM HALF THE MONEY HE PUT DOWN FOR THE VEHICLE OR PROVIDE HIM WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE OF THE SAME VALUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED REPLACING, THE DRUMS NEEDED TO BE ROTATED, AND NEW BRAKE LINES WERE NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIRS, WHEN THE CONTACT BEGAN TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO EXCEL CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 1765 US HIGHWAY 59 S, JEFFERSON, TX 75657), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
RUSTED BRAKE LINES (BOTH) RUSTED AND FAILED AT A CRITICAL TIME PUTTING MOTORIST IN DANGEROUS SITUATION AT TIME OF FAILURE. EXITING HIGHWAY AT POSTED SPEED WITH FEW OPTIONS ON HOW TO STOP VEHICLE.
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. I ENDED UP GETTING JUST A FEW RAIN DROPS SO I CLICK MY WIPER SWITCH ONE TIME, IT DIDN'T COME ON. ( PUZZLED ) SO I REPEATED TO GET TO WATER OFF WINDOW ,1 CLICK AT A TIME THE WIPERS DIDN'T COME ON UNTIL I WAS AT HIGH. OF COURSE , NOW THEY ARE ON HIGH AND RAIN IS GONE, NOW I CAN'T GET THE BLADES TO STOP IN THE OFF POSITION. WELL, I HAD TO PULL OVER I COULDN'T CONCENTRATE ON WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO MY WIPERS? AS WELL AS DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED ON JULY 10, 2019. I'VE CALLED GMC A COUPLE TIMES, 1ST TIME THEY JUST CLOSED NEXT TIME I DIDNT TRANSFER TO SERVICE DEPT . I JUST THINK , THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING TO NOTIFY YOU , I JUST HAPPENED TO GET HOME BEFORE THE STORM HIT. I WAS ON A COUNTY ROAD WHEN IT HAPPENED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The check engine warning light and another unknown warning light were illuminated, and a message was displayed that the gas port was reducing power. On a separate occasion, the vehicle started to lose motive power and then the vehicle started to shake. The vehicle was losing power and shaking until the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was restarted and drove normally for six months without failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with throttle body failure; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted three more times with different diagnoses. The vehicle was taken to other independent mechanics however, the cause for the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
OUR YUKON ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WILL JUST DISPLAY REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND SPEED WILL DECREASE RAPIDLY. I HAVE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF REMOVED KEY WAITED A FEW MINUTES THEN STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT MAY RUN FINE OR MAY JUST CONTINUE TO HAVE REDUCED ENGINE POWER. BETWEEN THE TOW BILLS AND SHOP FEES I HAVE SPENT MORE THAN THE TRUCK IS WORTH. WE HAVE TAKEN TO THE SHOP AND SPENT OVER 5K FOR THEM TO STATE THE CAN NOT FIND AN ISSUE. THEY SAY THERE ARE NO CODES. THEN IT MAY OR MAY NOT RUN NORMAL FOR A SHORT PERIOD AND THERE IS NO PATTERN. IT HAS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND THEREFORE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES OCCURS. MAKING THIS VERY DANGEROUS. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 80 MPH. THE RESULT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I AM NOT SURE WHY GMC HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I SAW SEVERAL OTHER BLOGS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I AM THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY OWNER OF THIS TRUCK AND IT HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. I LOVED MY TRUCK UP UNTIL THESE ISSUES STARTED, PREVIOUS TO THIS THE TRUCK HAD A PARASITIC DRAW THAT AFTER 3 YEARS MY BROTHER FIGURED OUT NOT GM OR ANY OTHER MECHANIC. THAT WAS THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL MODULE FOR THOSE THAT MAY BE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. IS THERE A WAY TO ENCOURAGE GM TO DO A RECALL? I NOW HAVE A USELESS TRUCK SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
STABILITY CONTROL DISABLED COMES ON WITH ENGINE POWER REDUCED. THIS HAPPENED AS I AS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY. SPEED DRASTICALLY REDUCED FORM 65 TO 10 MPH. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL NOT ACT UNTIL THERE'S A FATALITY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. NHTSA HAS RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND HAS NOT ACTED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS NOT CORRECT -THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS
TRYING TO STOP SLOWLY AND ABS SYSTEM MOVE MY YUKON TO A POINT I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. IT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO STOP UNDER 10 MILES PER HOUR. ALSO 2WD DRIVE DROPS TO 4WD ON HIGHWAY AND LOSE POWER. THIS IS DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEARS (3655 SW 22ND ST, CORAL GABLES, FL 33145. MIAMI, FLORIDA) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKES FAILED. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT TIME OF FAILURE, VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STOPPED AND AT 30 MPH RAN THROUGH THE RED TRAFFIC LIGHT AT A BUSY CITY INTERSECTION. FORTUNATELY, NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER REPAIRED VEHICLE. INVOICE STATED: "BRAKE LINE WORE THROUGH FROM STEERING COLUMN RUBBING ON FLEXIBLE SECTION."

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROWN AUTOMOTIVE CENTER (2520 VETERANS BLVD, DEL RIO, TX) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V043000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PERFORMED AND ANY MORE REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE THE SAME KIND OF BRAKING ASSEMBLY AS LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED REGARDING THE ISSUE AND THE CASE WAS ESCALATED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT NO FURTHER ACTION WAS TAKEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 247,118. *TT CONSUMER STATED GM CHARGED TO REPAIR UPDATED 8/14/18*JB
SPEEDOMETER STICKS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND REGISTERS AT LEAST 20 MPH HIGHER THAN ACTUAL SPEED AND NEEDLE FLUCTUATES SO YOU CAN NOT TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE. BOTH ARE SAFETY CONCERNS. AT 120,000 MILES I AM BEYOND GM'S EXTENDED WARRANTY. SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED.
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND ROUNDING A BLIND CURVE THE TRAFFIC AHEAD HAD STOPPED DUE TO A CRASH. I HAD TO BRAKE HARDER THAN NORMAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST KEPT DEPRESSING FURTHER AND FURTHER UNTIL IT WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WASN'T STOPPING NEAR FAST ENOUGH AND HAD TO VEER TO THE LEFT INTO THE MEDIAN TO AVOID MAKING CONTACT WITH ANYONE ELSE. IT WAS RAINING AND AS I LOOKED UNDER MY TRUCK TO LOOK FOR WHY MY BRAKES WERE INEFFECTIVE BUT COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING AT THAT TIME. I CHOSE TO TRY TO DRIVE HOME NOT SURE WHY I HAD THE PROBLEM STOPPING. THE NEXT DAY WAS DRY AND I HAD MY BROTHER PUMP THE BRAKES WHILE I LOOK UNDERNEATH AND FOUND NUMEROUS PLACES WHERE THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTING AT AN ALARMING RATE AND ONE LOCATION WHERE THE RUSTED LINE FAILED. I REPAIRED THE LEAK I HAD FOUND AND WHEN I TRIED TO BLEED THE BRAKES FROM THAT REPAIR I WOULD BEGIN AN UNENDING RUN OF LEAKS UP AND DOWN THE METAL BRAKE LINES FOR BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR. THIS YUKON HAS AROUND 260K MILES BUT THOSE BRAKE LINES SHOULDN'T BE RUSTING THROUGH LIKE THEY ARE. I HAVE HAD MORE THAN 15 TAHOES, YUKONS, YUKON XLS, SUBURBANS, AND PICKUP TRUCKS FROM GM AND NEVER HAVE I HAD SUCH A RUN OF BRAKE FAILURES AS THIS 2004 MODEL YUKON WAS NOW GOING THROUGH. GM SAYS THIS IS NORMAL MAINTENANCE BUT HOW CAN ONE EVEN SEE IF A FAILURE IS OCCURRING AS MANY OF THESE LINES ARE CONCEALED BY THE FRAME, CHASSIS, AND BODY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER OWNERS OF SIMILAR VEHICLES, BE IT PICKUPS OR TAHOE'S OR SUBURBANS OF THE 2000 TO 2006 MODEL YEARS AND NEARLY ALL HAVE COMPLAINED OF CHRONIC BODY RUST ISSUES BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY BRAKE FAILURES FROM BRAKE LINES RUSTING AND THEN BLOWING OUT WITHOUT WARNING. MANY ALSO CITED THAT OF THE LINES THAT ARE VISIBLE TO INSPECT THEY WOULD APPEAR TO BE OK BUT JUST OUT OF VIEW ONE WOULD HAVE A SUDDEN BLOW OUT WITH NO WAY TO SEE OR KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM SINCE THE LINES ARE CONCEALED.
I HAVE 4 MICHELIN TIRES PURCHASED FROM COSTCO LATE 2013, TYPE: LT265/75R16, DOT M34N 00CX. LESS THAN 30K MILES ON ALL 4. ALL 4 TIRES ARE HEAVILY CRACKED ALL AROUND THE SIDEWALLS. I CALLED MICHELIN AND THEY STATED THERE IS NO RECALL BUT I'VE NEVER HAD OR SEEN ANY TIRES DO THIS BEFORE AND I'M CONCERNED THEY COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, EXPLODE, OR SHRED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY.
THIS IS THE 2ND GM ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING AFTER 50000 MILES . WHEN I RESEARCH ON MINE THERE ARE A BUNCH OF OWNERS THAT ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. AND IT'S THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED

THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ALSO FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID EVIDENT UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINE WAS EXTREMELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V045000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE REAR AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED BLOWING AIR. THE CONTACT, WHO WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION LOCATED BEHIND A PLASTIC PANEL IN THE HOOD LATCH WAS OVERHEATED BY THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
FRONT SEAT HEATER FOR DRIVER COMES ON WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON WITHOUT BEING SELECTED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, HIT THE BRAKES WHEN A COUPLE OF DEER JUMPED ONTO ROAD AND THE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING ACTION AT ALL. HAD ENOUGH TIME TO REALIZE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HIT THE PARKING BRAKE IN TIME BEFORE REACHING INTERSECTION TO BUSY HIGHWAY. INSPECTION AFTERWARD SHOWED BRAKE FLUID ON THE FRAME NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WHERE THE PROPORTIONING VALVE IS LOCATED. THERE WAS NO WARNING OF THE FAILURE AND HAD BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AROUND TOWN MOST OF THE DAY. HAVE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURES ON VEHICLES BEFORE AND ALWAYS HAD HALF THE SYSTEM REMAIN OPERATIONAL ENOUGH TO STOP WITHOUT PROBLEM. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A SINGLE FAILURE MODE THAT CAUSED THE LOSS OF BRAKING OR A SIMULTANEOUS FAILURE OF MULTIPLE SYSTEMS WHICH SHOULD BE UNLIKELY BUT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WITH IMPROBABLE REGULARITY BASED ON COMPLAINTS POSTED.
I COULD BE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND THE RIGHT OF COME ON AND STABILITY TRACTION DISABLED COME HOME AND CUT MY POWER THEY ARE TO 10 MILES AN HOUR WHILE I'M DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WATER ENTERED THE HVAC SYSTEM AND CAUSED THE BLOWER RESISTER MODULE TO CORRODE. AS A RESULT, THE WIRING HARNESS HEATED UP, WHICH COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CAUSED A FIRE IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
ENGINE LOSING COOLANT, WITH NO APPARENT SIGNS OF LEAKAGE. COOLANT APPEARS TO BE LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE OIL, CAUSING IT TO SLUDGE, THEREBY CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE. GM IS AWARE OF AN ISSUE AND ISSUED TSB 06-06-01-019B FOR DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD CASTING. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED LAST YEAR AND NOW OWE 10000 FOR A CAR THAT NEEDS A 6000 ENGINE REPLACEMENT. GM SHOULD BE MADE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS SINCE THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE, PER THEIR OWN DIRECTIVE.
ACTUATORS STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY TO CONTROL A/C AND HEAT IN VEHICLE WHEN TURNED ON. IF A/C IS TURNED ON, IT MAY RUN FOR AWHILE THEN TURN TO HEATING CYCLE ON ONE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE OR THE OTHER. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT. IF HEAT IS CALLED FOR IN WINTER, I.E. TO DEFROST WINDOWS, THE HEAT MAY OR MAY NOT RUN OR IF RUNNING MAY TURN TO A/C. MANY TIMES IN WINTER THE HEAT TURNS TO A/C AND THERE IS NO HEAT ENTERING THE VEHICLE. NOTED THERE WERE NUMEROUS GMC VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS LATE AS 2015 WHEN LOOKING ON THE INTERNET.
STABILITY CONTROL DISABLED COMES ON WITH ENGINE POWER REDUCED. THIS HAPPENED AS I AS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY. SPEED DRASTICALLY REDUCED FORM 65 TO 10 MPH. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL NOT ACT UNTIL THERE'S A FATALITY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS IS CRIMINAL. NHTSA HAS RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND HAS NOT ACTED.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS FAULTY DO TO BATTERY DRAIN. THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS WITH A MAJORITY OF TRUCKS AND SUV'S OF THE SAME GENERATION AS MY 2004 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. THE COST FROM THE DEALER TO REPLACE THIS PART IS APPROXIMATELY $2000. THERE ARE AFTERMARKET INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO REPLACE THIS PART AT A COST OF ALL MOST $600. THIS REQUIRES PROGRAMMING BY THE DEALER FOR A COST OF ANOTHER $500+ ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE REPEAT IT SELF AT LATER DATE.
ON MARCH 12 MY FAMILY WAS IN A BAD ACCIDENT. WE WERE CUT OFF BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS RAINING..THE YUKON SLID..HIT THE BARRIER..FLIPPED 3 TIMES..FINALLY STOPPING UPSIDE DOWN..BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE ARE ALIVE TODAY...THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY..WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MILES WHEN THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE HOOD OPENED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE. UPON INVESTIGATION THE WELDS THAT SECURE THE HOOD LATCH BROKE LOOSE.
I WENT TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A RUSTED BRAKE LINE HAD BURST. I WAS ABLE TO PARK IT SAFELY BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I TAKE CARE OF MY TRUCK AND IS SERVICED REGULARLY BY THE DEALER.
WHEN DRIVING WHETHER HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS, THE CAR WILL WITHOUT NOTICE SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 15MPH. A CODE OF "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" IS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. THE CAR WILL NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 15MPH, EVEN WITH YOU FOOT ON THE GAS PETAL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT. THEY KEEP REPLACING DIFFERENT PARTS THINKING THAT IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. ALMOST WITHIN A WEEK AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP THE SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN WITHOUT NOTICE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I TREASURE MY KIDS AND I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN WHENEVER I AM ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60 OR 70 MPH AND A SEMI TRUCK RUNS INTO THE BACK OF ME WHENEVER THIS HAPPENS WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. APPARENTLY GMC DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR GMC MODEL. IS IT GONG TO TAKE THE LOSS OF SOMEONE'S LIFE BEFORE THE NHTSA TAKES A STAND ON THIS ISSSUE. I HAVE SPENT OVER $2000.00 IN REPAIR BILLS AND HAVE THE SAME ISSUE JUST THIS PAST WEEK. I BELIEVE THAT GMC SHOULD ISSSUE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REPAIR AT THE THEIR COST.
SURGE HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, THEN ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, DECREASED ENGINE POWER OCCURS, TRACKTION STABILITY INDICTORS COMES ON. CAR LOOSES POWER. I HAVE TO PULL OVER OFF THE ROAD, PUT INTO PARK,CUT IGNITTION OFF, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS COULD HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING.THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THIS IS A DRIVING HAZARD AND BIG SAFETY ISSUE, IT HAS HAPPENED ON CITY STREET AND ON A HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENS DAILY.
MY 2004 YUKON HAS AT LEAST THREE MAJOR LEAKS IN THE BRAKE LINES CAUSED BY CORROSION. RESEARCH FOUND THAT THIS DEFECT WAS IDENTIFIED SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLES WERE SOLD NEW BUT REFUSED TO ISSUE RECALLS. I WAS IN A NEAR ACCIDENT WHEN MY BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR SUDDENLY. ALSO THE STABILIZER SYSTEM FAILS WITHOUT NOTICE AND THE DASH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (GAS GAUGE, TEMP GAUGE, VOLTAGE AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES WORKS ON AND OFF.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY STAYS ON AND I'VE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC BUT IT COMES RIGHT BACK ON AGAIN. THE GAS GAUGE DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. WHEN YOU FILL THE TANK TO FULL THE ARROW ONLY GOES TO THE HALFWAY MARK.
STEEL BRAKE LINES HAVE RUSTED THROUGH, CAUSING LEAKAGE AND TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE DURING APPLICATION. CALIPERS AND BLEEDER VALVES ALSO RUSTED, PREVENTING NEW BRAKE LINES FROM BEING RE-ATTACHED.
BRAKE LINES RUSTED IN TO CAUSING THE LINES TO WEAKEN. DRIVING TO MY HOUSE , PUSH ON BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT TO THE FLOOR LOOK UNDER VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A POOL OF BRAKE FLUID UNDER THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN TRAFFIC.
DRIVING WHEN ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLACK. OFF/ON AT RANDOM. KNOCKING SOUND STARTED ABOUT THE SAME TIME. TOOK CAR IN TO BE CHECKED OUT. WAS TOLD BRAKE LINES WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED, AND NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. WE PAID FOR REPAIR OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. TALKED TO OUR DEALERSHIP, HOLMAN IN CINCINNATI OH, ABOUT BREAKS. NO RECALL LISTED. THEY HAVE NEVER TOLD US THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED. OFFERED US $150 BRAKE KIT TO DO OURSELVES (CANT DO) OR THEY CAN DO IT FOR $1500-2000. CAN'T AFFORD. IT SITS IN OUR DRIVEWAY, EPIC FAIL GMC. WE BOUGHT A HONDA.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN ON RAMP I BEGAN TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN, THE BRAKE PEDAL SUNK TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD NO BRAKING CAPABILITY AND THE BRAKE WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH. I PUMPED THE BRAKE AGAIN AND STILL HAD NO BRAKING CAPABILITY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON INSPECTION OF THE BRAKE LINES, THERE WAS A MAJOR LEAK ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE, AND A SMALLER LEAK FROM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE.
I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS MAKING A RATTLING SOUND. AT LOW SPEEDS YOU CAN HEAR IT AND SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS IDLING. SEEMS TO COME FROM THE EXHAUST NEXT TO THE GAS TANK.
