DASH HAS OVER 6 CRACKS AND PIECES BROKEN OFF THE DASH ITSELF.
THE CHROME ONTHE DOOR HANDLE HAS PEALED AND CUT MY FINGERS SEVERAL TIMES. ITHOUGHT THERE WAS A RECALL ONTHIS BUT I CANT FIND IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ROLL DOWN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND SMELLED A STRONG ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS HOT AND THAT THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS MELTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,700. UPDATED 09/15/14*LJ UPDATED 1/8/2015 *JS
THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE, AT NO PARTICULAR SPEED. I WILL BE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STABILITRAK LIGHTS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON, AND THE ENGINE BEGINS TO RUN VERY HARD AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE VERY QUICKLY AND CANNOT REACH FULL CAPACITY. THIS IS SOMEWHAT SCARY AS IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES, AS WELL AS JUST DRIVING AROUND MY RESIDENTIAL AREA, ALWAYS WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. USUALLY ONCE I TURN THE CAR OFF AND LEAVE IT FOR A LITTLE BIT, THEN RESTART IT, THE LIGHTS ARE OFF EXCEPT THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL STAY ON. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND THAT GMC SHOULD BE TAKING THIS SAFETY CONCERN VERY SERIOUSLY AS NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY IS DEFINITELY A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED A CRACK JUST ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. WHAT EFFECT THIS WILL HAVE SHOULD AIRBAG DEPLOY IS UNKNOWN.`
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE TRACKING AND STABILIZATION LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRUCK TURN OFF IN MID TRAFFIC. IT DID START BACK UP AND WE TOOK IT TO GMC DEALER. THEY HAVE HAD IT SINCE. THE DEALER STILL HAS THE TRUCK AND HAS FIXED THREE DIFFERENT THINGS AND MY BILL IS INCREASING, BUT THEY HAVE FAILED TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DANGER TO MYSELF, MY HUSBAND AND OUR TWO CHILDREN. I HAVE CALLED GM AND THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH LIKE STAY IN CONTACT WITH DEALER. *JS
VERY LARGE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD THAT CAN POTENTIALLY AFFECT USE OF AIR BAGS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. POTENTIAL FOR PUNCTURES IN BAGS FROM SHARP PLASTIC EDGES OF CRACKED DASHBOARD. *JS
IN OCTOBER 2013, THE TRAILER HITCH COVER FAILED DUE TO A BROKEN PRONG. BODY SHOP INSTALLED A REPLACEMENT PART; HOWEVER, FROM THE BEGINNING IT DID NOT FIT CORRECTLY. WHEN COMPARED TO OLD COVER, THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN THE PRONG DESIGN. IN JUNE 2014 THE COVER DID NOT BREAK OR COME OFF THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT WAS FLAPPING BELOW THE BUMPER. TOOK VEHICLE INTO SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR ANOTHER ISSUE, BUT, ASKED SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HAVE BODY SHOP TO INSURE RIGHT PART INSTALLED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAME BACK AND SAID "DUE TO POOR BUMPER DESIGN, THE ENTIRE BUMPER WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED TO INSURE CORRECT FIT." I DECLINED. BOTH MY POWER MIRRORS WERE THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. SERVICE DEPARTMENT WANTED $1070.00 TO REPLACE BOTH MIRRORS. DECLINED AND USED ANOTHER GMC DEALER WHO REPLACED BOTH FOR $602.69. *TR
THE DASH CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES INCLUDING AROUND THE AIRBAG, OVER THE STEERING WHEEL, AROUND THE VENT AND MULTIPLE OTHER AREAS. I HAD THIS REPAIRED BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY. THE REPAIR COST $385.
I OWN AN 07 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASHBOARD HAS THREE SEPERATE CRACKS IN THEM. TWO OF THEM ARE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE OTHER ONE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIRBAG. I'VE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE AS WELL AS ON THIS SITE AND IT'S A SHAME WE SPEND ALL THIS MONEY ON THESE LUXURY VEHIICLES BUT GMC REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM. I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF OVER $1000 TO REPLACE IT. I HAD TO PLACE A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER BETWEEN THE CRACKS JUST TO AVOID THE OBNOXIOUS AND ANNOYING SOUND THAT IT MAKES WHILE DRIVING, NOT TO MENTION SO MY HAND WOULDN'T ACCIDENTALLY PUSH IT IN RESULTING IN MY HAND POSSIBLY GETTING STUCK IN THE CRACKS. OUCH!! IT SOUNDS LIKE CONSTANT RATTLING. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER CHROME DOOR HANDLES ARE PEELING WHICH CAN CAUSE SOME SERIOUS CUTS TO YOUR HANDS IF NOT CAREFUL. GMC THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS OFFER RECALLS FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS. I'VE OWNED A GMC YUKON FROM 2002-CURRENT. I WOULD HATE FOR THIS TO BE MY LAST.
CAR WAS LEFT IDOL FOR TWO DAYS. UPON START UP IGNITION SWITCH FAILED. PART REPLACED BY OWNER BUT IT STILL WOULDN'T START. DENALI WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR OF IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND STARTED FINE. *TR
MY DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC CONTROL PANEL STOPPED WORKING ABRUPTLY. ONE MORNING, I GOT INTO MY CAR AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND TRIED TO OPEN THE WINDOW. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN EITHER THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW OR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW. ADDITIONALLY, I WAS UNABLE TO LOWER THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW AND THE POWER DOOR OPENER WAS NOT WORKING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I CALLED MY LOCAL GMC DEALER AND THEY EXAMINED THE CAR. THEY TOLD ME THAT WATER GOT INTO THE CASING IN THE ELECTRICAL SWITCH CONTROL PANEL CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH NISSAN SUVS AND ISUZU SUVS AND WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RE-CALL. HOWEVER, SINCE MY SUV IS A YUKON DENALI, IT IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE FIXED UNDER THE RE-CALL. THEY TOOK THE CONTROL PANEL APART AND SHOWED ME A SMALL WHITE PLUG INSIDE THE CONTROL PANEL THAT WAS BURNED, BROWN AND MELTED ON THE END. THEY DISCONNECTED THIS PLUG AND TOLD ME THAT IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO OPERATE THE CAR WITH IT PLUGGED IN. I TOLD THEM THAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD SIMPLY BECAUSE IT DID NOT OCCUR ON AN ISUZU OR A NISSAN. THEY TOLD ME THAT, IN FACT, THE YUKON DENALI IS SIMILAR TO THE RECALLED NISSAN MODELS BUT THEY CANNOT FIX THE ELECTRICAL SHORT UNLESS IT IS A SPECIFIC SUBJECT OF A RE-CALL. *TR
DASH CRACKING IN AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA, PRESENTING POTENTIAL DANGER IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. DASH ALSO CRACKING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THESE CRACKS HINDER THE OVERALL STRENGTH AND COSMETICS OF DASH ALONG WITH DECREASE THE OVERALL VALUE OF SAID VEHICLE.
DRIVING THROUGH TOWN WHEN THE CAR STARTED SLAMMING INTO GEAR. RIGHT BEFORE, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DASH SAID "STABILITRACK DISENGAGED". CAR STARTED BEEPING AND LOST POWER. WHEN I WAS ABLE, PULLED OVER AND SHUT DOWN CAR. IT WOULD NOT START. TOWED IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD DIFFICULTY DIAGNOSING. ULTIMATELY REPLACE IP JUNCTION BOX AND FP GATEWAY. SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN 10,000 MILES LATER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE STARTED TO EMIT FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, THE DASH BOARD AND THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE OVER A PERIOD OF A YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MODULE CODES WERE NOT RESPONDING TO EACH OTHER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,572.
GIVES ME DIFFERENT READINGS ALL THE TIME. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I REALLY HAVE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL: THEY STILL HAVEN'T SENT THE PART TO REPLACE MY AIRBAGS TO LAUREL GMC SO I'M UNABLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AT BOTH CORNERS OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AS WELL AS OVER THE STEERING WHEEL DASH (PLASTIC USED TO MAKE THESE DASHES IS THE CAUSE OF THE CRACKING IN 2007-2013 GM AND CHEVROLET TRUCKS). I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT; EITHER THE CRACKED PLASTIC WILL CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO PUNCTURE (SERIOUS LIFE SAFETY CONCERN) OR THE PIECES OF CRACKED PLASTIC WILL BE PROJECTILES AND POSSIBLE BE HARMFUL TO ALL PASSENGERS OF THE VEHICLE. APPARENTLY GM HAS STATED THAT THE PLASTIC USED TO MAKE THESE DASHBOARDS IS THE CAUSE OF ALL OF THESE CRACKS HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. THERE ARE CLASS ACTION SUITS BEING LOOKED INTO BUT THE 2007 - 2009 VEHICLES ARE OUT OF THIS GROUP BECAUSE OF THE BANKRUPTCY THAT GM FILED. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THE GOVERNMENT BAIL OUT AND BANKRUPTCY SHOULD RELIEVE THEM OF THE LIFE SAFETY ISSUE THESE CRACKED DASHES ARE CAUSING. THERE IS AN ENTIRE FACE BOOK PAGE WITH 3,323 MEMBERS THAT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET GM TO REPLACE THEIR DASHES. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. SOMEONE MUST HAVE TO BE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THEY WILL ISSUE A RECALL.

FRONT AND REAR DOOR HANDLES CAME OFF S GM REFUSES TO FIX AFTER THE FIRST TIME VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS THESE ARE VERY DANGEROUS DEFECTS WHICH GM IS HIDING PLEASE INVESTIGATE THEIR GM SPOKESMAN REFUSED TO FILE MY CLAIM SAID I NEEDED TO REPAIR ON MY OWN. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000. UPDATED 08/11/14*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE 3 WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE UPON BRAKING QUICKLY OR, WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED AT A LIGHT. THE LIGHT HAD BEEN REPLACED AND WOULD BLOW OUT IN LESS THAN A WEEK. THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED. UPDATED 08/13/2014 *JS
HAVING ALOT OF ISSUES WITH TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF CAUSING MY TRUCK TO EITHER SHUT OFF/STALL OR JUST NOT TURN ON THAN THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON ARGGG. I TOOK TO DEALERS WAS TOLD ITS MY THROTTLE SENSOR GOT IT REPLACED $$750.00 UGHH THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THEN WHEN I TRY AND TURN IT ON AGAIN IT WILL FLASH TRACTION LIGHT ON AND OFF SO I TURN IT OFF THEN TURN IT ON AND IT GOES AWAY, LATER COMES ON THEN OFF RANDOM TIMES I CHECKED THIS SITE SINCE I SEEN NEWS AND SEEN OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. AND MY CRUISE CONTROL WONT KICK IN ALSO MY FRONT DASH HAS CRACKED ON TOP OF THE ODOMETER AND IT DOES MAKE ME WORRY IF I EVER GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WILL THE DASH SHATTER COMPLETELY?? CRACKED DASH AT AIRBAG AND ACROSS BOTTOM OF HUMP AT STEERING WHEEL. CRACK AT STEERING WHEEL KEEPS GROWING. ITS EMBARRASSING AND NOW MAKES A RATTLING SOUND.
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL IN 2014 AND NOW HAS 2 OTHER CRACKS ON PASSENGER SIDE LEADING TO AIRBAG THAT OCCURRED RECENTLY. CRACKS OCCURRED WHEN IN MOTION OVER SLIGHT BUMPS.
DASH CRACKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES, ONE IMPACTING PASSENGER SIDE DASH AIRBAG COVER. CONCERN OVER SAFETY IF AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY OR OF SHARP PLASTIC DASH SHARDS HITTING A VEHICLE OCCUPANT. DASH IS UNSIGHTLY AND VIBRATION OF CRACKED AREA IS ANNOYING. WAS TOLD IT IS POOR MATERIAL QUALITY AND POOR FIT THAT ARE ROOT OF THESE DASHES CRACKING. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS GARAGED AND THIS HAPPENED OVER TIME. THE CRACKS ARE SPREADING.
THERE ARE MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASH THAT CAME OUT OF NO WHERE THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A COLLISION. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO GM BY HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE DUE TO THIS VERY COMMON ISSUE, BUT THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. MY MAIN CONCERN IS ONE OF THE CRACKS IS BY THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WHICH COULD BE A HAZARD DURING A COLLISION OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. WITH A POSSIBLE CHANCE OF SHARP PLASTIC EXPOSED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH CUTTING THE AIRBAG OR SHARDS OF PLASTIC BECOMING PROJECTILES POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY TO OCCUPANTS. THE OTHER CRACK IN THE DASH IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE TO THE LEFT OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER I SUSPECT THE DASH WILL CONTINUE TO CRACK IN MORE SPOTS AS TIME GOES ON. I FEEL LIKE THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS THIS IS A FLAW IN EITHER MATERIALS OR DESIGN. *TR
I HAVE JUST READ A FEW OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT AN ISSUE I AM HAVING NOW, AND HAVE HAD 3 TIMES IN THE PAST. WHILE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, I HAVE HAD MY SUV BECOME VERY SLUGGISH AND DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. LIGHTS COME ON SAY LOSS OF POWER, STABILITRAC PROBLEM ETC. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I WAS VISITING ORLANDO FLORIDA. I TOOK THE SUV TO A DEALER, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ECM AND REPROGRAMMED IT. I LEFT BACK THE NEXT DAY FOR ATLANTA. NEARLY 80 MILES AWAY IN OCALA FLORIDA, IT STARTED DOING THIS AGAIN. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK, AND HAD IT TAKEN TO AN OCALA DEALERSHIP. THEY IN TURN TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD ECM, AND AFTER SPENDING AN ENTIRE DAY IN OCALA, I WAS BACK ON MY WAY TO ATLANTA. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, I HAD THIS OCCUR AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN I HAD IT TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP IN ATLANTA. THEY RAN A COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS ON IT, AND SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHY IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN ECM PROBLEM, AS THE CODE COMING UP WAS DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE SENSOR IN THE FLOOR BOARD THAT READS THE DISTANCEOF THE GAS PEDAL FROM THE FLOOR BOARD. AS IT IS A DRIVE BY SENSOR VS DRIVE BY WIRE. THEY REPAIRED THIS, AND ALTHOUGH I FELT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AT THE TIME, THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS THAT WERE SUPPOSEDLY DIAGNOSED WRONG WERE DONE SO WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ENDED UP CUTTING THE COSTS IN HALF. I HAD NO CHOICE, AS I NEEDED MY VEHICLE BACK. NOW IT HAS OCCURRED THE FORTH TIME. I HAVE RESORTED TO THE INTERNET TO SEE IF OTHER ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT I'M FINDING THROUGH THIS RESEARCH, IT SOUNDS AS IF MANY HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE, AND IT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. WHILE RESEARCHING, I WAS ALERTED TO THIS SITE, THUS THE REASON I'M POSTING HERE. MAYBE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AS IT SEEMS THIS HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN, AND GMC IS KEEPING IT UNDER WRAPS. *TR
I HAD JUST LEFT THE FREE WAY WENT ONTO A 2 LAIN ROAD WE WERE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPR THEN WE LOST ENGINE POWER,ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON ,WE PULLED OVER THE CAR KILLED,DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ,SO WE WAITED A BOUT 8 MINUTES THEN TURNED THE KEY, THE CAR STARTED AND WE WENT ON OUR WAY,A FEW MINUTES LATER IT DID THE SAME THING, IT DID IT 2 MORE TIMES, TOOK IT TO THE SHOP WAS TOLD IT WAS A GAS TANK SENSOR ,$500.00 STOAT AT THE SHOP,AND THE CAR STILL HAS THE PROBLEM,WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ENGINE REDUCES POWER WHILE DO 65 MPR DOWN THE FREE WAY, ? I THINK WE HAVE A BIG SAFETY CONCERN HERE, AND GM NEEDS TO KNOW, IF THEY DON'T ALL READY KNOW... *TR
TWO STRESS FRACTURES OCCURRED IN DASHBOARD. ONE ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ONE ADJACENT TO PASSENGER AIRBAG. CRACK ABOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD INTERFERE AND PUNCTURE AIRBAG DURING CRASH OPERATION. CRACK ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS QUITE LARGE AND COULD CATASTROPHICALLY FAIL DURING A CRASH. *TR
TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A PARTLY SUNNY DAY, APPROXIMATELY 27 DEGREES OUTSIDE WITH MY HEATER ON, MY SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED WITH A SOUND SIMILAR TO A GUNSHOT. AT THAT POINT, THE GLASS DID NOT FALL BUT WAS CRACKED INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES. LATER AS I DROVE THE GLASS BEGAN TO FALL APART. I WAS NOT FOLLOWING ANY VEHICLE AND WAS NOT DRIVING UNDER A BRIDGE OR AROUND ANY TREES SO THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE STRUCK MY SUNROOF. THE ROADWAY WAS SMOOTH AND MY SUNROOF HAS NEVER SUSTAINED ANY DAMAGE IN THE PAST. *TR
STABILITRAK OFF LIGHT COMES ON, FOLLOWED BY REDUCED ENGINE POWER. VEHICLE WON'T GO OVER 30 MPH THEN COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. STEERING GOES OUT AND HAD I NOT BEEN IN A SAFE LOCATION WHERE I COULD DRIFT OVER TO SHOULDER IT COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
I OWN AN 07 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASHBOARD HAS FOUR SEPERATE CRACKS IN THEM. TWO OF THEM ARE ON THE DRIVER SIDE, ONE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIRBAG AND THE OTHER IS DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE- THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF OVER $1500 TO REPLACE IT. I HAD TO PLACE A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER BETWEEN THE CRACKS JUST TO AVOID THE OBNOXIOUS AND ANNOYING RATTLE THAT IT MAKES WHILE DRIVING, THIS VEHICLE IS PARKED IN A GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME AND IS RARELY DRIVEN- ONLY 65,000 MILES- THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THESE CRACKS COULD DAMAGE OR INHIBIT THE PROPER DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS- THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!- GM WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BUT DENY AND BLAME THE CUSTOMER- THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE NOT A CUSTOMER USE ISSUE- STEP UP AND DO YOU JOB AND PROTECT THE CONSUMER! I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH AND I NOTICE THE DASH PAD STARTING TO VIBRATE AND THEN I NOTICE A CRACK STARTING TO DEVELOP AND IT CRACKED ALL THE WAY THREW PASSENGER SIDE TOP VENT WHERE THE DEFROST VENT IS AT I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
LEFT FRONT DOOR HANDLE FAILED. DOOR WAS NOT USABLE FROM OUTSIDE. REPLACED BY GMC DEALER WITH PART # 22738721 (S) HANDLE FOR $78.33. BODY SHOP REPORTED THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE ON THIS MODEL DUE TO DOOR DESIGN USING PLASTIC RATHER THAN MEDAL TO SECURE THE DOOR HANDLE TO THE BODY. *TR
THE DASH ON MY VEHICLE HAS CRACKED AND FEEL THAT IF THE AIR BAG IS EVER DEPLOYED IT WILL SEND PLASTIC FLYING INTO MY PASSENGERS FACE OR CUT THE AIR BAG. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO GM ABOUT THIS AND DO NOT FEEL THAT ITS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE $1,100 THE FIRST TIME I CALLED AND AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY COULD DO IT FOR $500 NOW. EVERY COUPLE DAYS WHEN I START THE VEHICLE THE STARTER SEEMS TO KEEP TRYING TO RESTART AFTER THE CAR IS RUNNING I USUALLY JUST TAP IT TO TURN OVER BUT IT CONTINUE TO TURN ITSELF OVER ON ITS OWN CAUSING GRIND NOISE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED, BUT UNDER WARRANTY FROM THE DEALERSHIP. IT HAS BEEN ALWAYS MAINTAINED AND SERVICED, UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, BY THE SAME DEALERSHIP. AS SOON AS WE NOTICED THE CRACKS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG AREA, WE CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE, SINCE GMC DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ISSUED, HOWEVER THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTS IN TENS OF THOUSANDS OF GMC VEHICLES AND THERE IS OVERWHELMING DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE OF MANUFACTURING DEFECTS. THERE ARE CUTS AROUND THE AIRBAG AREA WITH SHARP EDGES AND IN CASE OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENTS, THEY WOULD BE FLYING LIKE DAGGERS AND ARE VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

2007 YUKON XL - TRACTION CONTROL CAME ON CAUSING A REDUCTION IN POWER WHILE TRAVELING. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY GENERAL MOTORS. STARTED THE MOTOR IN THE MORNING NOTICED A LIGHT TICKING NOISE COME FROM THE MOTOR. SOUNDS LIKE THE LIFTERS ARE TAPPING. THE NOISE USE TO ONLY BE IN THE MORNING BUT NOW IT IS CONSTANT. TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR A DIAGNOSIS WAS INFORMED THAT THE LIFTERS ARE GOING BAD!!!!! WAS TOLD IT WAS GOING TO COST AROUND 3000.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY OTHER GM OWNERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT SPONTANEOUSLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED TWICE ON MY 2007 GMC YUKON. THE FIRST TIME WAS AROUND THE AIR BAG AND THE DEALER REPLACED IT IN 2011. NOW JANUARY 2014, THE DASH IS CRACKED AGAIN AROUND THE AIR BAG. TOOK INTO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID GMC WILL NOT REPLACE BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS 110,001. HOWEVER THE DEALER OFFERED TO GIVE ME $2,000.00 TOWARD A NEW VEHICLE. REALLY!! IF YOU WERE GOING TO GIVE ME $2,000.00 THEN REPLACE MY DASH! MY CONCERN IS IF THE DASH IS CRACKED WHAT KEEPS THE AIR BAG FROM NOT DEPLOYING AT ANY TIME. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I SEE IT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP LOCATED IN ITHACA, (MAQUIRE CHEVY-CADILLAC) NEAR ITHACA MALL. THE VEHICLE ENGINE SOUND LIKE IF SOMEONE WAS HITTING THE ENGINE WITH A HARD OBJECT, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD COME ON. THE SERVICE TECH TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM,LATER THAT NIGHT I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AND DROVE LESS THAN A MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SAME NOISE CAME BACK ON. DROVE BACK AND COMPLAIN OF THE PROBLEM THAT BEING FIX AND WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE REP. THAT A LIFTER HAD WENT ON THE ENGINE AND IT WOULD COST APPROX. 1,600.00 TO FIX THAT PROBLEM BUT WHEN NOT GUARANTEE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A OUTSIDE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED ME THAT IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO PUT A NEW ENGINE IN IT. THE SERVICE MANAGER LOOKED UP HIS SCREEN AND ADVISED ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO RECALLS ON IT. I PAID $4,774.84 FOR A NEW ENGINE, BUT GMC DID NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. ALL I WANT FOR LABOR IS $600.00 AND 203.00 FOR THE RENTAL CAR. I HAVE RECEIPTS TO SHOW WHAT WAS PAID AND THE BREAK OF WHAT NEEDED TO DONE TO ENGINE. I CONTACTED GMC 1-800 NUMBER WHICH WAS A JOKE, THEY LISTEN BUT REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. I NEEDED THE VEHICLE TO BE FIX, WHICH WAS AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE HELP. *TR

GMC IS CURRENTLY ADMITTING TO FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE THREE YEARS AGO EVERY YEAR THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FILED A COMPLAINT LAST YEAR IN 2013 NEVER HEARD BACK FROM DEALERSHIP.
