TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. UPDATED 02/12/16*LJ UPDATED 04/25/18JB* *TR
MY 2007 YUKON DENALI DASH HAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES. IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT DUE TO THOUSANDS OF OTHER YUKONS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS, BUT THE DEALER REFUSES TO FIX IT. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIR BAGS WERE TO DEPLOY, THERE MIGHT BE SHARP PIECES OF FLYING PLASTIC DEBRIS ORIGINATING FROM THE CRACKED AREAS. YES, THE CRACKS ARE ANNOYING, BUT I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER OR ANY PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE STRUCTURAL INSTABILITY OF THE DASH. *TR
THE DASHES OF ALL GM TRUCKS AND SUVS ARE CRACKING, BADLY. THEY'RE DESIGNED POORLY AND CRACK RIGHT AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SECTION. IN THE EVENT OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, IT WILL SEND JAGGED PLASTIC SHARDS TOWARDS THE OCCUPANTS. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND A SERIOUS HAZARD BUT GM REFUSES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED, HENCE I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT. CRACKS IN DASH AROUND AIRBAG WILL CAUSE INJURY WITH DEPLOYMENT. CRACKS ON THE DASH WILL CAUSE I JUST IN ACCIDENT.
BOTH REAR DOOR HANDLES OF MY YUKON DENALI ARE LOOSE FROM THE DOOR. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY FALL OFF AND MY KIDS ARE STUCK IN THE BACK. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND HE HAS FIXED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. HOWEVER SINCE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE THERE IS NOT A BULLETIN. I THINK HAVING EASY AND SAFE ACCESS TO OUR KIDS IS PRETTY IMPORTANT, BUT SINCE THE DOOR WERE SO POORLY MADE AND ENGINEERED THAT IS NOT THE TRUE ISSUE. I HAVE GONE ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND TO MY SURPRISE THERE IS A YOU TUBE VIDEO ON HOW TO FIX THIS COMMON ISSUE AND THERE ARE BLOGS AND BULLETINS THAT THIS IS COMMON. IF THIS IS TRULY COMMON AND DEFECTIVE, HOW COME GM IS NOT MANDATED TO ADDRESS AND FIX THIS MATTER? THIS IS UNFAIR THAT I NEED TO TAKE MONEY OUT FROM MY POCKET TO FIX SOMETHING THAT WAS DESIGNED POORLY. WHILE PICKING UP MY CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL THE ENGINE STARTED BACKFIRING,PULLED THE CAR OVER AND PUT INTO PARK IDLE COMPLETELY UNSTABLE, TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HARD SHIFT ON TRANSMISSION. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS THEY SAY THE LIFTERS ARE BAD AND ARE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. QUOTED ME 2700.00 TO REPLACE 2 LIFTERS SO NOT ACCEPTABLE THIS CAR DOES NOT EVEN REQUIRE A TUNE UP UNTIL 100000 MILES. EXPLAINED THAT TO THE SERVICE REP AND HE CAME BACK WITH A DIFFERENT QUOTE TELLING ME THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO COVER HALF. REALLY WHY WOULD YOU OFFER TO PAY HALF RIGHT OFF THE BAT. I BELIEVE THEY ARE AWARE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND TRYING TO COVER IT UP. MY BROTHER IN LAW HAS A YEAR NEWER MODEL AND JUST HAD THE SAME ISSUE REPAIRED LAST MONTH. THEY ALSO PAID HALF FOR HIS. HOW IRONIC IS THAT. I DONT BELIEVE THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A FAULTY PART ON AN ENGINE GM SHOULD BE! VEHICLE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY FOB NON FUNCTIONAL DESPITE NEW EQUIPMENT AND MULTIPLE REPROGRAMMING. COUPLED WITH TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. *TR
MY SUV WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW HAS A COUPLE OF CRACKS IN THE DASH BOARD NEXT TO THE AIRBAG SECTION. MY CONCERN IS IF THERE WOULD BE A ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED COULD CAUSE THE PLASTIC PIECES OF THE DASH TO BREAK OFF AND BECOME AIRBORNE AND INJURE ME OR A PASSENGER. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD PUT OUT A WARNING ABOUT THIS AND REPLACE THE DASH OF EVERY VEHICLE AFFECTED. *TR
MY WIFE'S 2007 YUKON XL HAD A MESSAGE THAT STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS OFF AND A REDUCTION IN POWER MESSAGE WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR DURING RUSH HOUR. WHEN THIS MESSAGE CAME ON THE YUKON CAME TO A VERY DANGEROUS REDUCTION IN SPEED AND WAS VERY CLOSE TO GETTING REARENDED BY THE VEHICLES BEHIND HER. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND THE MESSAGE RESET BUT CAME BACK ON SOON AFTER SHE GOT BACK UP TO SPEED AND THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN AGAIN. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AND CHECKED ALL GROUND STRAPS REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAVE CHECKED THE HARNESS. THE ISSUE HAS CONTINUED AND SINCE MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY IT IS GETTING VERY EXPENSIVE TO START REPLACING PARTS ON THE VEHICLE JUST TO HAVE IT DO THE SAME THING. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THERE ARE NO RECALLS BUT THERE ARE SEVERAL FORUMS ON LINE WITH PEOPLE ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THERE GM PRODUCTS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO, BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR KILLED. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THEIR PRODUCTS THAT ARE INVOLVED AND REPAIR THEM.- *TR
2007 GMC YUKON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUES WITH THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR DEFROSTER TABS WOULD DETACH FROM THE WINDOW EVERY WINTER. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED. THE FIRST TIME, THEY SOLDERED THE TERMINAL BACK ON AT A COST OF $ 29.95. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW BECAUSE IT COULDN'T BE SOLDERED BACK ON. THE THIRD TIME, THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE WINDOW AGAIN. THE DEALER THE SENT THE CONSUMER TO A GLASS COMPANY, WHERE THEY EPOXYED THE TABS BACK ONTO THE WINDOW. HOWEVER, WITHIN A WEEK THE TABS FELL OFF AGAIN. ANOTHER LOCAL GLASS COMPANY WAS RECOMMENDED AND THAT COMPANY RE-ATTACHED THE TABS, AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE TABS FELL OFF AGAIN.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE BREAKING WHICH COULD ALLOW EXHAUST TO GET INTO CAB. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT LOCK WHEN BUCKLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. *JB
I NOTICED CRACKS OPENING NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA AND ON THE TOP OF SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. CONTACTED THE GM AND I WAS TOLD A SERIES OF EXCUSES SUCH AS: "YOUR WARRANTY IS OVER", "YOU BOUGHT THE CAR USED ( I BOUGHT IT FROM A GM DEALER UNDER THE PRE-OWNED WARRANTY)", OR "MAYBE YOU USED PRODUCTS THAT CRACK THE PLASTIC!" AFTER A BRIEF RESEARCH I FOUND OUT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT GM MADE VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CRACK OPEN AT THE SAME EXACT SPOTS, DOWN TO THE MILLIMETER, AND IT HAPPEN IN THE BRAND NEW CARS AS WELL AS THE OLDER ONES. IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECTIVE ITEM, AND RESULT OF A WRONG DESIGN. GM DOES NOT REPLACE THE PART UNLESS WE PAY FOR IT. THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED THAT PARTS COULD FLY INTO THE CABIN AS A RESULT OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENTS AND REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. OUR CARS LOOSE ALSO THEIR VALUE WITH A DEFECTIVE/BROKEN DASH BOARD. THE FUNNIEST EXCUSE BY GM WAS: "OH, THE DASH PARTS ARE MADE IN MEXICO! YOU KNOW HOW THE MEXICANS ARE!" *TR
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN AUG 2013. HAD TO BRING BACK TO DEALER BECAUSE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS NO GOOD. HAD MY MECHANIC CHECK OUT REST OF CAR AND HE FOUND EXCESSIVE RUSTING ON FRAME ESPECIALLY WHERE REAR TIRE IS MOUNTED. *JB
I WAS SITTING STILL IN TRAFFIC WHEN HIT IN THE REAR PASSENGER QUARTER PANEL BY A F150 TRUCK TRAVELING APPROX 65MPH. IT HIT HEAD ON IN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE & QUARTER PANEL. THE TIRE WAS KNOCKED OFF, AXLE KNOCKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE, FRAME WAS DAMAGED, REAR AIR CONDITION WAS CRUSHED AND THE VEHICLE VALUED BY STATE FARM AT $27,000 WAS TOTALED. THE F150 WAS ALSO TOTALED. AN ADULT WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT, INFANT IN 2ND ROW CAPTAIN CHAIR DRIVER SIDE, 8 YR OLD 2ND ROW CAPTAIN CHAIR PASSENGER SIDE, 5 YR OLD WAS IN THE 3D ROW PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT AT THE POINT OF IMPACT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND ON STAR WAS NOT CALLED. I CALLED 911 FROM MY CELL PHONE & ALL PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. STATE FARM NOW OWNS THIS VEHICLE BUT I HAVE PICTURES. NOW MY NEW 2010 YUKON HAS A SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT ON. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH GM'S AIR BAG SYSTEMS. *TR
A LARGE CRACK OCCURS IN DASH AROUND AREA OF AIRBAG AS WELL AS A CRACK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DASH NEAR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. *TR
IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CRACKED DASHBOARD ON GMS. THE MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT THIS DESIGN FLAW WILL OBSTRUCT THE AIRBAGS. MY CAR IS NO DIFFERENT. I'M HAVE TWO CRACKS IN MY DASH SIMILAR TO THE MULTITUDE OF OTHERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. THE DASH IS CONTINUOUS AND EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FOR CONSUMERS TO EAT THE COST OF THIS DESIGN FLAW. *TR
ON JULY 26, 2013 I WAS IN MY 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI WHEN I HAD AN ISSUE. I WAS IN MY CAR, THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT IT WAS IN PARK. I WAS IDLING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WHEN I RECEIVED A "ENGINE POWER REDUCED", FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE CAR OFF AND GAVE IT ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AGAIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON WITH THE "ENGINE POWER REDUCED", FOLLOWED BY "SERVICE STABILITRAC", "STABILITRAC OFF", SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", AND "POWER ASSIST OFF". I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO TRY TO BRING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO. AFTER I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS TOLD THAT THE SENSOR BEHIND THE GAS PEDAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACED THE PART FOR ROUGHLY ABOUT $300 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT AWAY WITH ALL OF THE MESSAGES. SINCE THE REPAIR I DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 60 MILES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AGAIN, AND THE CAR SEEMS TO BE FIXED. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER SINCE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW OF US WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC LIFTGATE WAS OPENED AND THEN ABRUPTLY RELEASED, STRIKING THE CONTACT ABRUPTLY ON THE HEAD. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION FROM THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFTGATE HAD ONLY BEEN OPENED THREE TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS FOUND THAT ONE OF THE SUPPORT STRUTS HAD DETACHED FROM THE LIFTGATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY BECAME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED WITH ONLY THE SCREWS TO SUPPORT THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND NOT THE WASHERS. A TEMPORARY REPAIR WAS PERFORMED BY THE CONTACT WHERE HE INSTALLED AFTER MARKET WASHERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.....UPDATED 10-21-13 *BF
EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BREAK OUT OF ALL FOUR DOOR PANELS. *TR
TRAVELING ON I-75 NORTHBOUND FROM CHATTANOOGA TO KNOXVILLE, THE SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO, CAR REDUCES SPEED ALMOST TO A HALT. OFF TO THE RAMP AT REALLY SLOW SPEED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, AND SOON AFTER THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. COMPUTER INDICATES: SERVICE STABILITRAC - SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL - POWER ASSIST OFF - TRANSMISSION FLUID HOT, IDLE ENGINE. REMOVED THE BATTERY CABLE FOR 5 MINS. CAR RESTARTS BUT ALL THE LIGHTS AND MESSAGES STILL ON. RETURNED HOME (ABOUT 35 MILES) WITH ENGINE REVVING AROUND 3500 AND SPEED AT ABOUT 50 MPH. ENGINE TEMP AND OIL PRESSURE INDICATORS OK. THIS WAS SCARY WITH 2 KIDS IN THE CAR! TAKING IT TO GARAGE TOMORROW. *TR
LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE FAILED. DOOR WAS NOT USABLE FROM OUTSIDE. REPLACED BY GMC DEALER WITH PART # 1 22738725 FOR $67.27. BODY SHOP REPORTED THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE ON THIS MODEL DUE TO DOOR DESIGN USING PLASTIC RATHER THAN MEDAL TO SECURE THE DOOR HANDLE TO THE BODY. *TR
MY DOOR HANDLE ON THE REAR DRIVER PASSENGER SIDE HAD BECOME REALLY LOOSE. MY 5 YEAR OLD SON PULLED THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE HANDLE PRACTICALLY CAME OFF. THE DOOR HANDLE IS UNUSABLE AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. HERE IN HAWAII THE COST TO REPLACE THE PART IS RIDICULOUS. I PURCHASED A 2004 YUKON BRAND NEW AND LOVED IT. WHEN MY CAR WAS TOTALED BY A TREE DURING BAD WEATHER, I PURCHASED ANOTHER YUKON IN 2008, THIS TIME A 2007 MODEL. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL WHILE DRIVING, DEALER SAYS IT'S OK, HAD THE RIMS REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE PEELING, JUST NOTICED THERE IS A CRACK IN THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIR BAG IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE BUTTON FOR THE REAR WINDOW HAS FALLEN OUT AND NOW MY DOOR HANDLE HAS FALLEN OFF!!! I PAID TOP DOLLAR FOR MY CAR AND FEEL I PAID FOR A "SOUR LEMON". AMERICAN CAR WITH PARTS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA????? I THINK GMC SHOULD OWN UP TO THESE ISSUES AND HAVE IT RECALLED AS THE TRUCK IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. I SEE RUSTED OUT BEATER CARS FROM THE 70'S STILL CRUISING AROUND YET ALL THE ORIGINAL DOOR HANDLES ETC... ARE STILL IN GREAT WORKING CONDITION. WHAT THE HECK!!!! REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN. THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO OPEN. IF THERE WAS A ACCIDENT AND YOU NEEDED TO EXIT REAR OF SUV YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT AS THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO OPEN DOOR. IT IS ELECTRONIC AND HAS STOPPED WORKING. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN ALL YUKON'S, TAHOE'S AND ESCALADES. THERE IS NOT EVEN A BUTTON FROM THE EXTERIOR THAT YOU CAN PUSH TO OPEN DOOR. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN AND GMC DOES NOT WANT TO FIX UNLESS YOU PAY THE $100.00 TO LOOK AT IT THEN ANOTHER $500.00 TO FIX, I REALLY THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS A BAD DESIGN NOT HAVING ANY MANUAL WAY TO OPEN REAR HATCH ON A SUV. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE SUSPENSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE SHOCKS WERE LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I HAD STOPPED AT A 4 STOP INTERSECTION. I TOOK OFF AND THERE WAS A SUDDEN JERK, LIKE I HIT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE HIT ME. THE CAR STOPPED SUDDENLY, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE REVVED WITHOUT ACCELERATION. I PUT CAR THE IN PARK AND BACK IN DRIVE, CAR DID NOT MOVE. I PUT IT IN REVERSE, HAD NO PROBLEM GOING BACK BUT WAS IN TRAFFIC AND CLOSE TO AN INTERSECTION SO IT WAS UNSAFE TO GO BACK. CALLED "AAA" FOR TOW. COPS CAME; THEY HAD ME PUT CAR IN 1ST GEAR. CAR WAS FINE IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. DROVE CAR TO PARKING LOT. COP STATED THAT I HAD A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. HAD CAR TOWED TO GMC DEALERSHIP. NEXT MORNING (MAY 7), DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WAS A BROKEN FORWARD SPRAG BUT THEY NEEDED TO GO DEEPER TO SEE IF THERE WAS MORE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO TRANSMISSION. ASKED HOW MUCH, HE SAID MAYBE 2000 TO 4000. I CALLED GMC HOME OFFICE AND SPOKE WITH A REP. LET HER KNOW THAT MY CAR WAS ONLY 6 YRS OLD WITH LOW MILEAGE AND I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. SHE CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING THAT I WAS TOLD. AT THIS POINT I DIDN'T TRUST TO DEAL WITH GMC SO I DECIDED TO REMOVE MY CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP. RECEIVED A CALL FROM DEALERSHIP 2 HOURS LATER STATING THAT THEY HAD AUTHORIZATION FROM GMC HOME OFFICE TO OFFER ME ASSISTANCE OF 40% OFF THE TOTAL PRICE. THEY SAID THAT IT MAY BE BETWEEN 1500 TO 3000. I HAD MY HUSBAND CALL AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT IF THERE WAS NOT EXTENSIVE DAMAGE FROM THE "BROKEN FORWARD SPRAG" IT MIGHT BE CHEAPER. RECEIVED CALL FROM DEALERSHIP ON MAY 8, NO EXTENSIVE DAMAGE, ONLY REPLACING THE "FORWARD SPRAG". I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF 40% BUT I'M STILL UPSET THAT I HAVE TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CAR. IT'S NOT THAT OLD AND I BARELY DRIVE IT. I'VE CHECKED THE WEB AND HAVE NOTICED OTHER OWNERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THIS AGENCY AND MAYBE IT CAN BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
REAR HATCH/LIFT GATE HAS NO MANUAL HANDLE TO OPEN. WHEN UNLOCKING POWER LOCKS REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN, THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN LIFT GATE FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE. IF AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAPPEN THERE WOULD BE NO WAY OUT OF REAR OF VEHICLE. REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL, IT IS ALL ELECTRONIC AND WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR ALL GM SUV'S. HAVE CONTACTED GMC AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO ABOUT ISSUE. *TR
DASH BOARD CRACKED AROUND AIR BAG LAST YEAR AND NOW A MAJOR CRACK OVER THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IS CAVING THE DASH BOARD IN I CAN SEE DOWN UNDER IT! *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AFTER. THE TRUCK THEN BEGAN TO IDLE STRANGE LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL. I DROVE IT HOME WHILE TALKING TO MY HUSBAND HE STATED SINCE I JUST FILLED UP THE TANK MAYBE IT WAS BAD GAS. I DROVE IT HOME WHICH WAS ABOUT 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. AS SOON AS I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY , THE SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM CAME UP ON THE DASH AND THE MY TRUCK STARTED MAKING THIS HORRIBLE CLICKING. I LATER FOUND OUT THE MOTOR IS GONE AND THREW A ROD. I THINK ITS PRETTY ODD THAT ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMING ON THEN THE ENGINE ACTS UP. THIS IS A PROBLEM GMC NEEDS TO FIX, THEY DON'T FEEL ITS THEIR PROBLEM TO DEAL WITH. *TR
ACCELERATING TO PASS A SLOW VEHICLE 40MPR IN A 60MPR ZONE, WHILE ACCELERATING THE POWERTRAIN FAILED NO POWER IN DRIVE. WHILE COASTING ON THE SHOULDER I TRIED SHIFTING TO OTHER GEARS - RECEIVED POWER ON SECOND GEAR HOWEVER RUBBING NOISE AND HARDLY ANY POWER. LUCKILY MY DEALER WAS WITHIN A MILE OF WHERE THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AND LIMPED TO THE DEALER IN SECOND GEAR AT 25MPR. *TR
IN APRIL OF 2013 I TOOK MY GMC INTO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE CRACK THAT STARTED ABOVE MY INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WAS TRAVELING TOWARD MY AIRBAG. THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT GM HAD REPAIRED SOME BUT WAS NO LONGER DOING SO. HE ALSO SAID THAT IF THEY REPLACED THE DASH WITH A NEW ONE, IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING. THE CRACK HAS CONTINUED TO TRAVEL AND NOW MY AIRBAG PANEL IS RAISED ON THE DASH. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY OFFERED TO SPLIT THE COST OF THE REPAIR AT $400-$500 WITH NO WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR. THEY AGREED THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES ALSO BEGAN PEELING WHICH LEFT SHARP EDGES OF PLASTIC (?)-MY DAUGHTER SLICED HER FINGER OPENING THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. GM AT FIRST REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM IN APRIL OF 2013 BUT AS OF TODAY, OFFERED TO REPLACE THEM AT NO COST TO ME. *TR
THE BACK DOOR HANDLES ON OUR 2007 DENALI ARE EXTREMELY LOOSE TO THE POINT THAT THEY ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY FALLEN OFF. THIS AFFECTS OUR DAY TO DAY COMMUTE AND SHOULD BE FIXED, WE SPENT A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR A LUXURY CAR, THE HANDLES SHOULD NOT BE FALLING OFF. I AM SURPRISED THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. DASH BOARD CRACK AT AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. DEALER AGREED TO FIX DUE TO SAFETY CONCERN IF AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY. DEALER SAID GM HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT EVERY 2007-10 GMC TRUCK AND SUV DASH WILL CRACK DUE TO DEFECTIVE INFERIOR PART. DEALER CHARGE TO ME WAS $100. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. ACCORDING TO THE HUNDREDS OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS ON THIS GM DASH CRACK ISSUE I WAS LUCKY TO ONLY PAY $100, MANY OTHERS WERE NOT SO FORTUNATE AND STILL HAVE THESE DANGEROUS PARTS IN THEIR CARS. THE REPLACEMENT DASH IS THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART AS THE ORIGINAL, THE DEALER TOLD ME TO EXPECT IT TO CRACK AGAIN IN ABOUT TWO OR THREE YEARS. *TR
MY ENGINE SPEED REDUCED ABRUPTLY WHILE TRAVELING SPEED OF 65MPH ON THE FREEWAY. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. A REDUCED ENGINE SPEED, SERVICE STABILIZATION TRACK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL SIGNS COME ON. IF I PULL OVER AND WAIT 1 MINUTE IT STARTS AND DOESN'T DO AGAIN FOR 15 MINUTES. SOMETIMES THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN FOR A WEEK. I READ FORUMS AND IT APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY, AND ONLY WITH GM VEHICLES, BUT GM FAILS TO REQUEST A RECALL. SOME HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE, AND IT STILL DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE FRONT DASH HAS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, AS WELL AS AROUND THE SPEAKER AND OVER THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CRACKS INITIALLY STARTED AS SMALL CRACKS A FEW YEARS AGO, BUT HAVE DRASTICALLY WORSENED OVER THIS PAST YEAR AND I NOW BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY. IT'S SO BAD THAT IF IT GETS ANY WORSE THE WHOLE SECTION BETWEEN THE SPEAKER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY BREAK OFF.
ROUGHLY 30 TIMES SINCE MARCH MY 2007 GMC YUKON XL 5.3 SLT HAS HAD THE DREADED STABILITRACK OFF, SERVICE STABILITRACK, REDUCED ENGINE POWER PROBLEM. YOU CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND THE ERROR WILL COME ON AND YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. LEAVING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MY FAMILY. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN PULLING A CAMPER AND WITHOUT PULLING ANYTHING EITHER. GM REFUSES TO HELP THE MANY FAMILIES HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR

STABILITRACK LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR GOES TO IDLE AND HAS NO POWER TO ACCELERATE, ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR. ONCE PULLED OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT ENGINE DOWN AND WAITED 15 MINS TO RESTART. STABILITY TRACK LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON AND CAR ACCELERATES NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND IS AN EXTREME HAZARD! I HAVE READ NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND DEALER HAS NO RESOLUTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY JUST CHARGE CONSUMERS FOR PARTS THAT ARE NOT REALLY RESOLVING THE ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE ESC AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE VACUUM HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AT LEAST TWENTY-FIVE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2007 YUKON THAT CONTINUALLY HAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND ERROR SAYING SERVICE STABILITRAK - SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. SOMETIMES IT WILL CLUNK (WHEN SHIFTING AND THIS HAPPENS). I HAD THE THROTTLE SENSOR REPLACED AND ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS IN 2013 AND SAME ERROR IS NOW BACK. THEY ARE SAYING I HAVE MULTIPLE MISFIRES NOW AND I NEED TO REPLACE ALL MY SPARK PLUGS AGAIN (FOR ANOTHER $500) BUT THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THIS WILL FIX IT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM - ALL OVER THE WEB - AND IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE GMC HAS TAKEN ANY ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. MY DASH CRACKED AND SEPARATED RIGHT WHERE THE DASH MEETS THE AIRBAG. MY CONCERN IS ABOUT THE SAFETY DURING A COLLISION OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT FROM SHARP PLASTIC EXPOSED DUE TO THE CRACKS IN THE DASH CUTTING THE AIRBAG OR SHARDS OF PLASTIC BECOMING PROJECTILES POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY TO OCCUPANTS. I NOTICED A SMALL CRACK IN THE DASH JUST ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE VENT ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GROWN INTO THE ENTIRE DASH BEING CRACKED WITH DIFFERENT CRACKS GOING IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS MIGHT AFFECT THE AIRBAGS CAUSING THEM TO ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY. I'VE CALLED GMC AND THEY HAVE NO COMPLAINT BULLETINS ON THIS ISSUE. I'VE CALLED A GMC SERVICE DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT FOR THIS WOULD COST ME IN EXCESS OF $900.

NOT SAFE. I HAVE READ ONLINE AND BECOME AWARE THAT THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE GM DASHBOARDS... PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR CASUALTY STATISTICS TO KICK IN... WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY, MY TRUCK WAS DRIVING FINE. THEN THE STABILITRAK CAME ON. WHEN IT CAME ON THE ENGINE SLOW DOWN, AND ALMOST CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR ROAD WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO START AND CALL THE GMC DEALER, TOLD THEM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, AND THEY ASKED COULD I BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. AFTER THEY SERVICE THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID THAT THE STABILITRAK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HADN'T EVEN HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A FULL YEAR. BEFORE I LEFT THE DEALER I ASKED COULD I STILL DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID THAT I COULD. SO I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. ONE DAY WHILE DRIVE THE VEHICLE, IT MOVED FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND SHUT OFF. I TRIED TO IMMEDIATELY START IT CAUSE I WAS BEHIND ANOTHER CAR AT A LIGHT. I WAS GLAD THAT IT DIDN'T HIT ANOTHER CAR. IT WOULD NOT START IMMEDIATELY. MAYBE TWO MINUTES IT STARTED AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS IT TOOK OFF FAST. WHILE DRIVING, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE POWER IS GONE. IF I AM NOT ABLE TO PULL OVER, THE SPEED WILL DROP BELOW 20 MPH. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL TAKE OFF, WITH JUST A LITTLE BIT OF GAS. HELP AM SCARED THAT IT MIGHT TAKE OFF AND HIT SOMEONE OR SHUTOFF AND HIT SOMEONE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, THAT I FEEL GMC SHOULD LOOK INTO BEFORE SOME DIES OR REALLY GET HURT. *TR
IT BEGAN W/A HARSH SHIFT FROM 2ND TO 3RD. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON& IT BEGAN SHIFTING SO HARSH IT WOULD JERK YOU. WENT TO MY GM DEALER & THE CODE WAS FOR A THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. THEY REPLACED THE SENSORS & ALSO FOUND A CRACKED MOTOR MOUNT. THEY ADVISED THE CRACK WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING SO HARSH, ALSO THE SHIFTING PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION AND THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION FROM THE THROTTLE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THEY REPLACED THE MOUNT & SENSORS. CHARGED ME $700. LEFT THE DEALERSHIP, 15 MINS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON! I TOOK IT STRAIGHT BACK AND DAYS LATER THEY CALLED...COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, THE CODE AGAIN WAS FOR THE SENSORS, THEY INSTALLED AGAIN & CHECKED THE SOLENOIDS BUT THEY WERE FINE. THEY ADVISED A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED & WOULD BE $2400. WITH NO WARRANTY, I COULDN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR, SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT UNTIL I CAME UP $$. IT STILL SHIFTS HORRIBLE AND OFTEN 'REVS' WHILE ACCELERATING BUT WON'T SHIFT FROM 2ND-3RD. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, I HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN IT OFF 20 MINS BEFORE IT WILL DRIVE. A DAY OR TWO LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OFF, BUT WILL RANDOMLY APPEAR AGAIN WHEN THE 'NO GO' HAPPENS AGAIN. AFTER 'GOOGLING' THE SYMPTOMS, THERE'S SEVERAL FORUMS STATING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES! I'M AFRAID THIS WILL HAPPEN WHILE MERGING ON THE HWY OR AT AN INTERSECTION. THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR I'VE OWNED & I'M IN SHOCK A VEHICLE THAT COST ME 50K WOULD END UP THE WORST CAR I'VE OWNED. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ONLY SAFETY ISSUE I HAVE, BUT SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR, I'VE REPLACED 3 DOOR HANDLES, IT SHAKES AROUND 60MPH, THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE & THE LOCKS INTERMITTENTLY WORK, BOTH CAPS ON THE AUX OUTLETS CAME OFF AFTER 6 MOS ALONG W/ THE PAINT ON THE A/C CONTROLS.
