MY VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I BELIEVE IT COULD CAUSE MOISTURE TO AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM UNDERNEATH THE DASH AREA WHERE THE CRACK IS. GMC DEALERSHIPS HERE WOULD NOT ASSIST IN REPLACE A KNOWN DEFECTIVE CHEAP PART. *TR
DASHBOARDS HAS CRACKING AND THIS HAPPENED IN SEVERAL SPOTS 4 YEARS AGO BUT JUST NOW REPORTING THE ISSUE
CAR SUFFERED STEERING FAILURE,BRAKE POWER,CONTROL AND FINALLY WHEN STOPPED FAILURE TO CRANK. CAR WAS AGAIN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. WORK DONE ON CAR WAS REPLACE LH MOTOR MOUNT,FUSE AND REPAIR WIRING TO MAP SENSOR AS WELL AS REPLACING MAXI FUSE. THE COST OF THIS REPAIR WAS $379.65 NOT INCLUDING TOWING. WHILE THIS WORKED FOR A WEEK WITHOUT INCIDENT WE WERE RETURNING HOME ON 95 HIGHWAY IT SUFFERED LOSS OF CONTROL FOR STEERING, VERY HARD BRAKING AS WELL AS ENGINE SHUT OFF GOING 75 MPH. *TR
ENGINE STARTED BY ITSELF WHILE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE. ENGINE WAS RACING. GARAGE WAS EXTREMELY HOT FROM ENGINE RUNNING. KEY WAS IN IGNITION BUT PULLED OUT SO THE ALARM WOULDN'T DING. DOORS WERE NOT LOCKED (NEED TO BE LOCKED FOR REMOTE ENGINE START TO WORK). OPENED DRIVER DOOR, REACHED FOR KEYS AND THEY FELL OUT IN MY HAND AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN BY ITSELF. WE WILL TAKE THE CAR TO PIERCE DODGE/GM RONAN, MT FOR EVALUATION. *TR
CAR ALTERNATOR FAILURE AFFECTING DRIVEABILITY. LOSS OF POWER, STEERING, BRAKE, DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM, ENGINE SHUT OFF. CAR NEEDED TO BE TOWED AND THE COST OF REPAIR WAS $ 550.05 DIAGNOSE WAS REPLACE ALTERNATOR AND BELT. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE CHROME IS PEELING OFF AND MY WIFE SLICED HER FINGER ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS I HAD ALSO CUT MY HAND ON MY 2007 AVALANCHE. ANOTHER ISSUE ON MY YUKON IS THAT THE DASH HAS CRACKED FOR UNKNOWN REASON AROUND MY AIRBAG WHICH COULD PROPOSE A SERIOUS ISSUE SINCE IT SURROUNDS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ALSO SIMILAR TO A 07 AVALANCHE I HAVE OWNED. IF YOU GOOGLE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT UP UNTIL JULY OF LAST YEAR (2014). I EXPERIENCED MY CAR JERKING ERRATICALLY AND HAD TO PULL OVER. THE CAR LOST SPEED AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC WHO THEN SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE JERKING STARTED AGAIN ON AND OFF, NO LOSS OF SPEED AND IT WOULD ONLY JERK GOING FORM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND. I HAVE NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT UNTIL NOW BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD ONLY JERK EVERY SO OFTEN. NOW MY TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILIZER SERVICE WARNING MESSAGE POPS UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL PLACES I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY, ABS MODULE AND BOTH ARE NOT CHEAP TO FIX THEY ALL WANT TO CHARGE ME $500- $1200 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I BEGAN RESEARCHING AND SEE THAT THE ISSUE I AM HAVING MAY BE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. I PLAN TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC BEFORE I START PAYING FOR MORE COSTLY REPAIRS. IF FOR SOME REASON THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE, THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAPPENS.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE P0121 - THROTTLE BODY IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG ALL DENALI OWNERS AND IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. BUT IF THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN BY THE MANUFACTURER THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY (WHICH ARE CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER) DEALERS WILL CHARGE BETWEEN $95 & $110 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND DETERMINE IF IT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. OWNERS SHOULD BE WEARY OF DEALERS TRYING TO CHARGE FOR THIS FIX. ESPECIALLY OF THE DENALI IS UNDER 100K MILES. *TR
1. RIMS ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF CORROSION,FLAKING AND BLISTERING OF THE CHROME ON THE ALUMINUM RIMS. 2. VEHICLE HAS NEW BATTERY INSTALLED AND IS BEING DRAINED SOME HOW WHILE THE NAVIGATION AND RADIO SEEM TO BE OPERATING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS OFF. THIS PROBLEM RESULTS INTO A DEAD BATTERY AFTER VEHICLE IS PARKED FOR A SEVERAL MINUTES. *NOTE: NO SOLUTION AT THIS TIME HAS FIXED THE PROBLEMS LISTED. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE AND A QUICK RESPONSE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR
BF GOODRICH LONG TRAIL T/A TOUR TIRES ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. EXPERIENCED BAD REACTION OF WHEELS SHAKING ON I-80 GOING 70 MPH AND EXCESSIVE ROAD NOISE AT JUST 20K MILES OF USE. MIDDLE OF TIRES FLATTENED OUT AND READ HORROR STORIES ON WEB SITES OF TIRES SEPARATING SO I WANTED TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO GET TIRES RECALLED ASAP AND GIVE PEOPLE THEIR MONEY BACK FOR THE JUNK TIRES! *TR
I HAVE CONSULTED WITH MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE AS WELL. GENERAL MOTORS FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE'S A QUALITY CONCERN OR THAT THERE'S A POTENTIAL SAFETY CONCERN WITH THESE VEHICLES. THIS NOT ONLY AFFECTS GMC YUKONS, BUT CHEVROLET TAHOES AND SUBURBANS AS WELL. THE DASH BOARD IS MADE OF HARD BUT BRITTLE PLASTIC. THE DASH BOARDS TEND TO CRACK OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OPENING, LEAVING SHARP "DAGGER LIKE" PIECES OF DASH BOARD MATERIAL LOOSE. IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, THERE'S A RISK OF THESE PIECES BEING PROPELLED BY THE AIR BAG AND INJURING OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE. I'VE HEARD OF THIS AFFECTING VEHICLES FROM AS LITTLE AS 1 YEAR OLD. GENERAL MOTORS HAS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND HAS BLATANTLY STATED THAT IF IT WERE A SAFETY PROBLEM, "THE GOVERNMENT WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT". ANY ASSISTANCE YOU CAN PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR
EXHAUST MANIFOLD MOUNTING BOLTS FAIL. MANIFOLD SEPARATES FROM CYLINDER HEAD CAUSING EXHAUST LEAK . *TR
STABILITRAC LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENT RESULTING IN DIAGNOSTIC FOR ELECTRIC SUSPENSION SYSTEM. REPLACED E.S.C.M. AS WELL AS SHORTED COMPRESSOR EXHAUST VALVE THAT SHORTED THE CONTROL MODULE. REPLACED THE SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR WITH VALVE AND FILTER. THIS WAS DONE AT A COST OF $1557.15 OUT OF POCKET COST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, BOTH SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD DISPATCH SOMEONE TO INVESTIGAT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 97,000.
WHILE FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON AN ON RAMP FROM ONE HWY TO ANOTHER, THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME DROVE DIRECTLY OVER SOMETHING LAYING IN THE ROAD (STRADDLING THE DEBRIS WITH IT'S TIRES). THIS CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD AND I MADE A QUICK SWERVE/EVASIVE ACTION TO MISS RUNNING OVER WHATEVER IT WAS LAYING IN THE ROAD. ALL OF MY SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME AND I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED FOR ANOTHER 1/4 MILE OR SO. I CALLED GM TO COMPLAIN AND THEY HAD A SO-CALLED INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR COME OUT AND LOOK AT MY VEHICLE (AT THE TIME IT WAS AT A DEALERSHIP). I RECEIVED A REPORT BACK SAYING THE COMPUTER SENSED A POTENTIAL ROLLOVER. NEVER WAS THERE A POTENTIAL ROLLOVER. I JUST SWERVED TO MISS SOMETHING IN THE ROAD. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE OTHERWISE. GM LEFT IT AT THAT. NO OTHER INVESTIGATION WAS DONE. AFTER TWO YEARS, I HAVE YET TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE, BECAUSE IT STILL IRKS ME TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR SERVICE MAINTENANCE. THE FAILURE WAS FOUND IN THE FUEL TANK, WHERE THERE WAS A LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE HOWEVER NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. UPDATED 08/07/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE SEAL THAT HELD THE GAS TANK IN PLACE, CAME APART AND CAUSED FUEL TO LEAK. UPDATED 08/16/12

I WAS DRIVING MY DENALI IN THE CITY THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. THE TRUCK DROPPED IN SPEED AND LOST POWER. I NOTICED THAT THE CLUSTER OF LIGHTS IN MY DASH WENT OUT AND THE VEHICLE STRUGGLED TO MAINTAIN SPEED. A LITTLE BIT DOWN THE ROAD I PULLED OVER. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED OR WHAT TO DO. IT WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS. I TRIED TO DRIVE IT TO A MECHANIC THAT WAS CLOSE BECAUSE I HAD NO HELP AVAILABLE. IT STRUGGLED TO MOVE SO I PULLED OVER AGAIN. I SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO SO I TURNED IT OFF. AFTER SITTING FOR 10-15 MINUTES I STARTED IT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON BUT THE DASH WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I BEGAN TO DRIVE IT TO SEE IF WAS OK. IT SEEMED TO BE AT THE MOMENT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A HOT TRANSMISSION ACCORDING TO THE WARNING LIGHTS. THIS WAS THE 1ST OF MANY TIMES THIS WOULD HAPPEN. SOMETIMES IN THE CITY IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHERE I COULDN'T PULL OVER AND SOMETIMES GOING 70MPH ON THE TOLL ROAD. EACH TIME THERE WAS A TERRIBLE DRAG IN THE ENGINE AND I WOULD LOOSE POWER. OFTEN IT WOULD JERK THE WHOLE VEHICLE AS IF I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THIS IS DANGEROUS FRUSTRATING AND SCARY. I LIVE IN A CLIMATE WITH LOTS OF SNOW & ICE THEREFORE THIS IS EVEN MORE OF AN ISSUE BECAUSE IT CAUSES ME TO LOOSE CONTROL SOMETIMES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS!!!!! *TR
MULTIPLE CRACKS THROUGHOUT INSTRUMENT PANEL AROUND AIRBAG AND DIRECTLY OVER STEERING WHEEL. POSSIBILITY OF PIECES BECOMING A PROJECTILE IF AIRBAG DEPLOYS.
TAKATA INFLATORS & DASHBOARD DEFECTS 2007 GMC YUKON VIN: [XXX] THE MANUFACTURER HAS STILL NOT DEVELOPED A RESOLUTION FOR THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I WAS INJURED IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN THIS VEHICLE WHEN THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, ADDITIONALLY THE DASHBOARD ON THIS YEAR & MODEL YUKON HAS COMPLETELY CRACKED, FALLING APART, CREATING FURTHER SAFETY HAZARDS & SHARP DEBRIS OBJECTS THAT WILL CAUSE INJURY IF THE AIRBAGS DO DEPLOY. DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS INSTALLED BY GM CREATE A SAFETY HAZARD. CRACKS OCCURRED ON DRIVERS SIDE (HUMP ABOVE STEERING WHEEL) AND CRACKS IN DASH ON BOTH SIDES OF AIRBAG. IF AIRBAG DEPLOYS CRACKED PIECES OF DASH COULD CAUSE HARM TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS IN VEHICLE. GM IS AWARE OF THIS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM/DEFECT AND IT IS VERY WIDESPREAD WITH THOUSANDS OR MORE GM CUSTOMERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE YET GM REFUSES TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE DASH FOR CUSTOMERS WHICH IS ULTIMATELY PUTTING GM CUSTOMERS AND THEIR PASSENGERS IN DANGER. *TR

3 MONTHS AFTER BUYING VEHICLE IN SEPT OF 2011. CHROME DOOR HANDLES ON PASSENGER SIDE ARE PEELING AND CRACKING AND SLICING FINGERS OPEN WHEN TRYING TO OPEN DOOR. ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO, DASHBOARD BEGINNING TO CRACK AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AREA. *TR
CRACKED DASH DRIVER DOOR LOCK.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE CAR COMPLETED SHUT ME DOWN TO 50 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE STABILITY TRACK, STABILITY TRACK OFF. I TOOK TO THE DEALER AND HAD OVER $1100.00 WORTH OF WORK DONE INCLUDING THE THROTTLE BODY. HERE WE ARE 5 MONTHS LATER AND I AM ON THE EXPRESSWAY CAR SHUTS DOWN AGAIN AND THE SAME WARNING SIGNALS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OIL CONSUMPTION BARELY MAKE IT 1000 MILES ON A NEW OIL CHANGE WHEN THE CHECK OIL LIGHT COMES ON, WHEN YOU CHECK THE OIL THERE ISN'T EVEN ANY OIL ON THE STICK. *TR
WENT TO OPEN DOOR AND HANDLE CAME OFF. DID NOT PULL ANY HARDER THAN NORMAL. THIS IS AFTER WE HAD TO REPLACE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES DUE TO FLAKING CHROME THAT CUT HAND. POOR QUALITY BOTH INSIDE DOOR HANDLE AND OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD: THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAS ALSO CRACKED BEHIND THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS WORKING WITH [XXX] SERVICE ADVISOR AT FREEWAY CHEVROLET IN CHANDLER, AZ.. HE ADMITTED THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND MANY OF THESE DASHBOARDS COME IN CRACKED REGULARLY. THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ANY REPLACEMENT ASSISTANCE. MY MAIN CONCERN IS IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND GETS CAUGHT ON THE CRACKED DASHBOARD. DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. POSSIBLE RISK OF PROJECTILES IF IN ACCIDENT.
STABILITRACK AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES AND SIGNALS ON DASHBOARD TO GET SERVICED. WHEN STABILITRACK IS OFF TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGHLY AND CAR LURCHES FORWARD. DATE OF OCCURRENCE IS APPROX BUT HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DASHBOARD EXHIBITED SEVERAL CRACKS NEAR THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH COMING FROM A SUPERVISION TRAINING CLASS ALONG WITH A CO-WORKER AND THE FOLLOWING SENSOR LIGHTS STARTED APPEARING ON MY DASHBOARD: TRACTION CONTROL OFF, STABILITRAK OFF. THIS HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN ON A REGULAR BASIS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE GM SERVICE AT LEAST TWICE AND PRIVATE REPAIR FACILITIES NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE SITUATION CONTINUES. IT IS NOW 01-28-2014 AND THE SITUATION CONTINUES AND IS GETTING WORSE. ALONE WITH THE ABOVE ISSUES NOW THE "REDUCE ENGINE POWER" LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN. IT HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND NO REPAIR FACILITY, GM OR OTHERWISE, KNOWS HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TO DRIVE SO THIS VEHICLE IS WHAT I DRIVE BUT, IT IS DANGEROUS AND GM NEEDS TO FIX IT OR RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. I HAD INQUIRED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR NOTICES. APPARENTLY THOUGH IT IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM AS EVIDENCED BY GOOGLING "CRACKED DASHBOARDS IN 2007 GMC YUKON". THIS IS REALLY NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT A SIGNIFICANT COSMETIC ISSUE. THE COST TO REPLACE IT HAS BEEN QUOTED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO BE AROUND $1100. I HAVE ASKED A THIRD PARTY VENDOR WHO DOES A COVER REPLACEMENT FOR ABOUT 1/3 OF THE COST (BUT HE DOES NOT REPLACE IT). HE SAID THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH GMC DASHBOARDS IN THEIR TRUCKS AND YUKONS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I THINK HE SAID IT WAS A QUALITY ISSUE IN THE PLASTIC USED IN THE DASHBOARDS. MY CAR HAS REALLY HAD MINIMAL SUN EXPOSURE AND THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS THAT WOULD HAVE CREATED THE PROBLEM. THE TOP OF THE DASH HAS THREE CRACKS, TWO BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL & GAUGE CLUSTER AND ONE BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DOOR. IN RESEARCHING I SEE THAT THIS IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE COMMON ON THE TAHOE, YUKON, ESCALADE AND ASSORTED GM TRUCKS IN THE 2007-2011 RANGE. IN SOME CASES, MINE IN PARTICULAR, THE CRACKS HAVE GOTTEN QUITE LARGE AND JAGGED TO THE POINT THAT PIECES OF THE DASH ARE LOOSE AND COULD BECOME PROJECTILES OR AFFECT THE AIRBAG IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. IT IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING AND GM SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS. THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FOR GM AND IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE I WILL NOT INVEST IN ANOTHER GM PRODUCT.

I AM IN CONTACT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA WITH THOUSANDS OF GM CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE AND ARE EXPERIENCING THE VERY SAME CRACKS IN THE SAME PLACES WHICH DENOTES A DEFECT IN THE DASH AND SUPPORTS OR LACK THERE OF. LOOK FOR FACEBOOK GROUP " CACKED DASH 2007-2015. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES FROM ALL OVER THE US INVOLVING EVERY GM SUC, TRUCK ETC. THE CRACKS ARE CONSISTENT IN LOCATIONS AND PATHS.. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY AIR BAG DEPLOYING RANDOMLY. DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL AFFECT TAKATA RECALL OR NOT. CRACKS RANDOMLY OCCUR ON GM VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF AGE OR MILEAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHROME COVERING ON THE INTERIOR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE STARTED PEELING AND WOULD CAUSE LACERATIONS TO THE CONTACT'S HAND WHEN UTILIZING THE DOOR HANDLE. I HAVE THE INEVITABLE CRACKED GMT900 DASHBOARD BY THE AIRBAG COVER. THERE ARE 2 CRACKS IN THE DASH WHERE THE AIRBAG COVER IS HELD IN PLACE AS WELL AS ANOTHER CRACK ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL HUMP. I'VE CONTACTED GM REGARDING THIS AND THEY HAVE NOT OFFERED TO REPAIR IT. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY SHOULD BE A RECALL, I DON'T EXACTLY KNOW HOW UNSAFE THE CRACKS ARE BY THE AIRBAG COVER BUT ESSENTIALLY EVERY 2007-2013 TAHOE, YUKON, ESCALADE, SUBURBAN, SIERRA, ETC... THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH IS CRACKED AND PROTRUDING UPWARDS ABOUT 1/2 INCH. I COVERED IT WITH A CLOTH DASH COVER ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE.
I WENT TO THE MALL YESTERDAY AND MY CAR STARED SHAKING THE MALL IS 4 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THIS INTERSECTION ON THE WAY HOME AND I HEARD A HORRIBLE POP AND SAW SOMETHING FLY IN THE AIR AND FALL OFF OF MY CAR. IT WAS THE DRIVER SHAFT AND THAT PART WAS LAYING IN THE ROAD ABOUT 4 FEET LONG AND IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE RAN OVER IT I BELIEVE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY TO SOMEONE. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES. FROM TAIL LIGHTS GOING OUT AT ONE TIME, THE DOOR KNOB FALLING OFF, THE ARM OF THE SEAT BROKE AND NOW THE HEAD LIGHT JUST WENT OUT. BRAKE ISSUES AND I CALLED GMC TO TELL THEM THAT THIS PART FELL OFF AND THEY WERE NOT SURE IF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. NOTHING EVER IS BUT IT IS SAD TO SPEND THIS KIND OF MONEY ON A VEHICLE AND HAVE SO MANY ISSUES WITH IT. WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. I WAS SHAKING FROM THIS INCIDENT AND HAD THE CAR TOWED AWAY. *TR

TAKATA RECALL GM RECALL#49151 I HAVE BEEN IN 1 CAR ACCIDENT AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT ACTIVATE AT ALL WHEN THE IMPACT WAS SUBSTANTIAL ENOUGH FOR THEM TO INFLATE.
ENGINE OIL LOW ADD OIL LIGHT COMES ON. VEHICLE USES OVER A QUART OF OIL EVERY 2000 MILES.
THERE IS A CRACK IN MY DASH ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ANOTHER ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL HUMP. THESE CRACKS CAUSE THE DASH TO RATTLE AND VIBRATE A LOT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING AND THEY ALSO LEAVE EXPOSED, SHARP EDGES. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CRACK COULD COMPROMISE THE AIRBAGS FUNCTIONS. WE HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS. THERE WERE NO CRACKS WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. AFTER WE NOTICED THE CRACKS ON SUNDAY, I STARTED RESEARCHING HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. OUR LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL. I CONTACTED GM DIRECTLY AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO REPLACE THE DASH. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IN THEIR 07 YUKONS AND TAHOES. IT SEEMS TO BE A TREND! I FOUND A SITE WHERE OTHERS HAVE POSTED THEIR PROBLEMS AND THE RESULTS THEY GOT FROM GM. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THE DASH REPLACED FOR FREE OF CHARGE. I WAS NOT THAT LUCKY. THE INTERIOR, DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE ON MY 2007 GMC YUKON IS DEFECTIVE. THE CHROME LAMINATE THAT COVERS THE PLASTIC HANDLE IS PEELING ON THE TOP SEAM OF THE HANDLE CAUSING SHARP EDGES TO BE EXPOSED TO MY HAND EVERY TIME I OPEN THE DOOR. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT THE "SPECIAL COVERAGE RECALL" IS ONLY GOOD FOR 100,000 MILES. I HAVE 118,000 MILES ON MY YUKON AND THE PROBLEM IS JUST NOW SURFACING. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC DIRECTLY FOR A RESOLUTION, WHICH HAS BEEN ESCALATED TO THE DISTRICT SPECIALIST IN THE AREA.
