MY TRUCK ACCELERATES AND ABRUPTLY STOPS WHILE SLOWING DOWN UNDER 20 MPH. UNDER 20 MPH THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSE TO SWITCH OVER TO CONNECT TO HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY STOPS WHILE TURNING OR SOMETIMES THE CAR CUTS ALL THE WAY OFF. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2010 AND I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2013. OVERTIME I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY WOULD TELL ME THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I RECENTLY HAD MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEMS INVOLVING THE LIFTERS ACCORDING TO THEIR DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. THE COST WAS 6000 TO REPAIR. AFTER REPAIRING THE LIFTERS THE CAR STILL HAS THE SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATING AND STOPPING ISSUES.WE WERE TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT CHEVROLET THAT WE SHOULD "JUST DUMP THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAD A HYBRID IN THE BACK THEY HAD OVER A MONTH AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG WITH IT". I PAID OVER 38,000 FOR THIS TRUCK AT THEIR DEALER SHIP. IVE INVESTED THOUSANDS IN REPAIR COSTS. I WON'T SELL IT BECAUSE I KNOW IT HAS SAFETY HAZARDS. I DRIVE WITH CAUTION BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT THE CAR TO ACCELERATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROLL-OVER SENSOR ACTIVATED AND CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED. NOW, THE OTHER 3 ACTUATORS ARE FAILING AS WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, PASSENGERS AND DRIVER CAN HAVE THEIR DOORS REMAIN LOCKED. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT THE CHILDREN IN THE 2ND & 3RD ROW CAN BECOME TRAPPED WHEN THE ACTUATORS FAIL. THE DOOR LOCK KNOB IS WAY BACK IN THE REAR DOOR, MAKING IT NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE FRONT SEAT OR FRONT DOOR. THIS IS CLEARLY A QUALITY ISSUE. TO HAVE ONE FAIL MIGHT BE JUST BAD LUCK, TO HAVE ALL 4 FAIL IS CLEARLY A DESIGN & QUALITY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I HOPE GMC DOES NOT WAIT UNTIL CHILDREN ARE HURT DUE TO LOCKED DOOR BEFORE THEY ADMIT IT IS AN ISSUE & JUST FIX IT. *JB
DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD RESULTS IN CRAKING: THE DRIVER-SIDE CRACKS OCCUR TO THE LEFT OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, WHILE THOSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TAKE PLACE IN THE AREA SURROUNDING THE AIRBAG, CLOSER TO THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH. I CONCERN THAT A CRACKED DASH AT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT POINT COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
THE PASSENGER DOOR AND RIGHT SIDE REAR DOOR LOCKS HAVE FAILED. THE DOORS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED AND UNLOCK. I BELIEVE IT TO BE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS, AS THEIR ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND TO NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO THEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE IN AN EMERGENCY IS VERY SCARY. THESE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ARE THERE FOR A REASON GM KNOWS IT. I WAS TOLD THE COST WOULD BE AROUND $300 PER DOOR AND MANY OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE WITH QUALITY PARTS THAT WILL NOT FAIL! *TR
I HAVE A 2008 GMC YUKON DENALI IN WHICH THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN APPROXIMATELY 4 PLACES. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF I EVER GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND MY AIRBAGS DEPLOY. IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYS I THINK THIS DASH BOARD WILL ALSO HURT SOMEONE.
DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR THE DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THIS CREATES A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT, REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR ACTUATORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THE DASH BOARD KEEP CRACKING BY THE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND ON THE TOP OF THE CLUSTER.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR OPEN WITH THE REMOTE OR FRONT DRIVE DOOR SWITCHES. TURNS OUT THAT THE LOCK ACTUATOR HAS GONE BAD AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. MY SON IS 4 YEARS OLD AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE CAN NOT LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE FRONT - HE OPENED THE REAR DOOR WHILE CAR WAS DRIVING . LUCKILY HE WAS IN CAR SEAT. THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR PARENTS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. WHILE THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY THE SAME REAR PASSENGER DOOR SIDE LOCK ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES. UNFORTUNATELY THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES FOR US. NEED TO HAVE GMC LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. ONLINE THERE'S SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. POSES A SERIOUS ISSUE FOR PARENTS WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. PLEASE HAVE GMC RECALL AND INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER BEFORE SOMEONE TRULY GETS HURT. *TR
WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE BRAND NEW. THREE OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FROM THREE DIFFERENT DOORS WERE DEFECTIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT DIFFERENT TIMES DURING THE YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. FIRST THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR, THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND FINALLY AND RECENTLY THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. WITH THE FRONT DOORS, THEY DIDN'T ALWAYS OPEN OR LOCK WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL OR USING THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS CAUSING SAFETY AND SECURITY PROBLEMS. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS THE SAME WHERE OUR YOUNGER DAUGHTER SITS AND DIDN'T ALWAYS LOCK OR UNLOCK CAUSING OBVIOUS SAFETY AND SECURITY CONCERNS. THE ONLY WAY TO ENSURE IT LOCKS WAS TO MANUALLY LOCKMOR UNLOCK THE DOORS. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE REPLACED THREE OF FOUR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IN THE FOUR YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE. NEVER BEFORE HAVE I OWNED A VEHICLE WITH SUCH AN OBVIOUS DEFECT THAT HASN'T BEEN COVERED BEYOND THE WARRANTY WHEN IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. MY LAST REPAIR BILL WAS OVER $160.00. I BELIEVE THE OTHERS OCCURRED DURING THE WARRANTY SO THOSE WERE COVERED. I AM ANTICIPATING THE LAST DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WILL FAIL SOME DAY, SO,FAR IT IS WORKING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON DENALI HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, HE APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD INDEPENDENTLY CONVERTED FROM THE GASOLINE MODE TO ELECTRICAL HYBRID MODE. THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED BUT REGAINED POWER ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR POWER DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN USING THE AUTOMATIC KEY FOB. THE DOORS COULD ONLY BE OPENED MANUALLY. IN ADDITION, THE REAR LIFT GATE WOULD NOT RELEASE UNLESS MANUALLY OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND RIGHT ON TOP ON DRIVER SIDE STEERING WHEEL. THIS LOOKS LIKE THE DASHBOARD COULD ACT AS SHRAPNEL IF DEPLOYED INJURING ALL PERSONS IN VEHICLE IF EITHER AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED.
THE DOOR HANDLES HAVE SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. *TR
PROBLEMS WITH POWER DOOR LOCKS. HAD IT WITH OUR 2000 YUKON, MY 1999 SIERRA, AND NOW OUR 2008. THE 12 VOLT MOTOR WHICH DRIVES THE LOCKS UP AND DOWN VIA A SCREWJACK FAILS. NO LOGICAL WAY TO JUST CHANGE THE MOTOR. THE ENTIRE ASSY. MUST BE REPLACED @ $153 MY NEAREST DEALER. 2ND DOOR TO FAIL ON THE 2008. ASSY IS STAMPED "MADE IN CHINA". THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ON A RECALL. *TR
2008 GMC YUKON DENALI EXPERIENCED COMPLETE SYSTEM SHUTDOWN TO INCLUDE INSTANT LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL, PROPULSION, BRAKING, AND STEERING SYSTEMS ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ONE IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 35 MILES AN HOUR AND TWICE AT 60. WENT INTO SHOP 3 TIMES BEFORE FIXED. MY WIFE, WHO WAS DRIVING ON ALL 3 OCCASIONS, REFUSES TO EVER DRIVE IT AGAIN. *TR
75% OF THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS ON THE ABOVE DESCRIBED GMC YUKON, INCLUDING BOTH REAR DOOR LOCKS HAVE FAILED IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THIS FAILURE MAKES IT DIFFICULT/IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOORS - ESPECIALLY THE REAR DOORS. BECAUSE THE CAR HAS ONLY ONE EXTERIOR DOOR LOCK; IN ORDER TO OPEN THE INTERIOR MANUAL REAR DOOR LATCHES IN AN EMERGENCY, ONE MUST TRY TO CLIMB OVER/BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS (THE HEAD RESTS ARE NO LONGER REMOVABLE) - A STRETCH OF 4'4" FROM THE EDGE OF THE FRONT SEAT TO THE LATCH WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE REAR DOOR. SHOULD ONE ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THESE LOCKS THROUGH THE REAR TAILGATE, IT IS A LONG REACH OF 6' 6" OVER THE THIRD ROW SEATS. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, THE ABOVE DESCRIBED FAILURE, CAN EASILY TRAP INFANTS AND CHILDREN IN THE BACK OF THE CAR, CREATING AN A SERIOUS HEALTH AND SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A CHILD WAS SEATED IN THE THIRD ROW SEATING AND ACCIDENTALLY TANGLED THE SEAT BELT AROUND HIS NECK. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RELEASE THE SEAT BELT, BUT THE SEAT BELT WAS VERY TIGHT AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE CONTACT HAD TO CALL THE AUTHORITIES, WHO APPEARED ON THE SCENE TO CUT THE SEAT BELT LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE FELT THERE SHOULD BE AN EMERGENCY RELEASE MECHANISM EQUIPPED WITH THE SEAT BELTS IN THE EVENT OF A SIMILAR ACCIDENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. WHEN THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE WAS UNKNOWN. A POLICE/FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
WHEN TRAVELING ON A VERY BUSY INTERSTATE, I BACKED OFF THE GAS AND WENT TO ACCELERATE WHEN MY VEHICLE WENT TO REDUCED ENGINE POWER. THANKFULLY, THE CAR MADE IT TO THE NEXT EXIT WHICH HAD A GM DEALER. THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATION PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2008. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME IN MARCH 2012. 2 YEARS LATER IN MARCH 2014, THIS ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. THE SAME PART WAS REPLACED. WE CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT. WE WERE TOLD THEY WOULD PROBABLY NOT DO ANYTHING, IT'S SCARY THAT A GAS PEDAL HAS BEEN REPLACED I A VEHICLE TWICE IN 6 YEARS. *TR
DRIVERS DOOR LOCK FAILURE. ACCORDING TO THE AUTO FORUMS ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD FAILURE, FOR ALL DOORS, NOT JUST THE DRIVERS. ITS AN ELECTRICAL WIRING PROBLEM WITH THE LOCK ACTUATOR. GM REFUSES TO FIX THEM OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAS ISSUED NO RECALL. I READ A WOMAN'S POST WHERE HER TODDLER CHILD ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE BACK SEAT WHILE MOVING BECAUSE THE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK, SEAT BELT WAS THE ONLY REASON CHILD SURVIVED. GM SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT RECALLING THIS HAZARD. *KB
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WENT OUT; HAD REPLACED BY GM DEALERSHIP IN WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA. APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR LATER, THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED REQUIRING ONE TO MANUALLY ACTIVATE THE DOOR LOCK EACH TIME. WHEN NEEDING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE REGULAR DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE TO REACH THE DOOR LOCK LATCH TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR. NOW. 2 WEEKS AGO, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR NO LONGER WORKS. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AS SMALL CHILDREN ARE ABLE TO MANIPULATE THE DOOR LATCH AND OPEN THE DOOR AT ANY TIME WHILE IN MOTION. ALSO; FOR SAFETY OF THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE; HAVING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY IS A TREMENDOUS FEAT "OPENING THE DOOR" FOR SOMEONE TO POTENTIALLY ROB, MUG, ETC. THIS PERSON WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FUMBLE WITH CLIMBING ALL OVER THE VEHICLE TO UNLOCK DOORS OR LOCK THEM MANUALLY. GMC MUST KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM AS REPORTED BY LOTS OF PEOPLE BUT HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL TO HAVE THESE PARTS REPLACED. AFTERMARKET DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL LEAVING ONE AT THE MERCY OF THE HIGH PRICED DEALERSHIPS TO CONTINUE TO GOUGE PATRONS WHO "HAVE NO CHOICE" BUT TO RELY ON THEIR INFLATED MEANS OF REPAIR. UNLESS ONE IS LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND A WRECKED VEHICLE AT A SALVAGE YARD FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS. HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE STEPS UP AND DEMANDS THAT THESE PROBLEMS BE CORRECTED. I AM ONE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!! *TR
WAS WAITING FOR A RED LIGHT TO CHANGE AND SUDDENLY MY DASHBOARD LIT UP SAYING IT WAS REDUCING POWER TO THE ENGINE, DISABLING STABILITY CONTROL AND SOMETHING ELSE.. I WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR FOR 2 HOURS AFTER THAT... I.GOT THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOUSE AND WHEN I WENT BACK TO FALLOWING MORNING THE CAR STARTED WITH OUT THE ENGINE LIGHT ON..2 DAYS AFTER THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, IT WAS A SCARY EXPERIENCE SINCE THE CAR REDUCED POWER VERY FAST TO 20 MPH.. ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. *TT
THE 2008 GMC YUKON AND 2008 GM SUBURBANS HAVE A WIDESPREAD WELL-DOCUMENTED, REPEATED FAILURE OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS AS A RESULT OF A DEFECT WHICH GM WILL NOT ADDRESS VIA RECALL. I HAVE HAD TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS OF FAILED DOOR LOCKS IN MY 2008 GMC YUKON. WHEN THE ACTUATOR FAILS, MY CHILDREN ARE ABLE TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS EVEN AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD EXPIRES SINCE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES ARE WIDESPREAD, COMMON (EVEN OCCURRING REPEATEDLY IN THE SAME CAR) AND CREATE A DANGER OF CHILDREN POTENTIALLY FALLING FROM THE CAR WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. *TR

I HAVE HAD REPEATED FAILURES OF ALL THE DOOR LOCKS IN MY YUKON. THEY WILL ONLY WORK MANUALLY NOT WITH THE AUTO LOCK FEATURE. SAFETY IS A CONCERN AS YOU NEED TO REMEMBER TO LOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY AND THEN UNLOCK IT MANUALLY TO GET IN THE CAR. THE AUTO DOOR LOCK FEATURE (LOCKING AT 5 MPH OR ABOVE) ALSO DOES NOT WORK INVITING A CAR JACKING INCIDENT. I HAVE HAD 3 REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW A 4TH DOOR IS AFFECTED. *JS

GRANDDAUGHTER SITTING IN REAR SEAT IN BOOSTER WITH SEAT BELT. DRIVING VEHICLE, SHE PULLED ON DOOR HANDLE AND THE DOOR OPENED. STOPPED VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO LOCK DOORS WITH BOTH KEY FOB AND INTERIOR SWITCH, NEITHER DOOR WOULD LOCK. ABLE TO LOCK DOORS MANUALLY. UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL INCIDENT. SHE COULD HAVE FALLEN OUT OF VEHICLE IF NOT FOR BOOSTER AND SEAT BELT. NO WARNING NOTED OR POSTED ON DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER. INCIDENTALLY, WHEN KEY FOB LOCK IS ACTIVATED, CAR ALARM IS ACTIVATED, HOWEVER DRIVER DOOR AND REAR DOOR ARE NOT LOCKED. VEHICLE DOES NOT REALIZE THIS AND REMOTE START FUNCTION STILL OPERATES. NOW CAR CAN BE STARTED, BUT ANYONE CAN JUST WALK UP AND DRIVE OFF IN THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING. MOST CONCERN IS FOR SAFETY OF PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. THE AUTOLOCK DOORS WITH GEARS ENGAGED IS AN ADVERTISED SAFETY FEATURE. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS SYSTEM FAILS...ESPECIALLY WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS TO INDICATE FAILURE. ROOT CAUSE IS THAT CHROME PLATING ON ALUMINUM WHEELS ARE PEELING, RESULTING IN CORROSION OF THE ALUMINUM SUBSTRATE CAUSING INABILITY TO ACHIEVE PROPER SEALING BETWEEN THE TIRE AND THE RIM. THE LEFT FRONT AND THE LEFT REAR DOOR LOCKS ON MY VEHICLE DO NOT WORK. I AM VERY WORRIED THAT ONE OF MY CHILDREN WILL OPEN THE DOOR WHILE I AM DRIVING. 2008 YUKON XL POWER DOOR LOCKS BREAKING. DRIVERS DOOR WENT OUT AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, NOW A 58,000 DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR GOES OUT. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO UNLOCK THIS DOOR WITHOUT GOING AROUND THE VEHICLE AND CRAWLING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR TO REACH ACROSS, THE MANUAL LOCK IS AT THE REAR OF THE DOOR AND THE DOORS ARE SO LARGE YOU CANNOT REACH THEM. MY 2008 YUKON XL ON THE WAY HOME IS POWERED DOWN WITH SEVERAL ERROR MESSAGES. TRACTION CONTROL OFF, STABLE TRAC OFF, AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED. COULD NOT GO MORE THEN 25 MPH. WENT TO FAULKNER GMC DEALER IN TREVOSE, PA NEXT DAY. PAID $122.00 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. IT WAS THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. WAS TOLD THAT THIS PART IS A BACK ORDER AND GMC DON'T HAVE A MANUFACTURER WHO'S GONNA PRODUCE THIS PARTS FOR GM.
