TAKATA RECALL ' I SEE FROM AIRBAGRECALL.COM THAT THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE SINCE MAY 27, 2016 AND I JUST RECEIVED A NOTICE VIA SNAIL MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS. I CALLED CHUCK NASH AUTO GROUP IN SAN MARCOS, TX AT 512-396-7881 AND MRS. VICTORIA TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NO INFORMATION FROM GM ON MY CASE. NOTHING HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE AS OF NOW BUT THE AIRBAG ICON LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD IS FLASHING EACH TIME I TURN THE ENGINE ON. CAN I HAVE A FREE CHECKUP AND EVENTUALLY A FREE REPLACEMENT? THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL. WE HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED BY GMC SINCE BEING NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND WERE TOLD THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET TO KEEP CHECKING BACK. ON 10/25/2017 SCHUMACHER GMC STATED THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE AIRBAGS AND THAT IT DECREASES THE TRADE IN VALUE BY $6000-$7000 BECAUSE THEY CANNOT CERTIFY THE VEHICLE. WE FEAR FOR OUR SAFETY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND HAS FINANCIALLY RESTRICTED US FROM MOVING FORWARD ON PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL. I CONTACTED WEST POINT BUICK GMC IN HOUSTON AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY CAN'T GET THE AIRBAGS AND THAT THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHEN THEY WILL. THEY TOLD ME OVER A YEAR AGO WHEN I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME I AM TRYING TO GET MY AIRBAGS DONE BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP. THANK YOU

DASH IS CRACKED BY AIR BAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THIS A BIG PROBLEM FOR GMC YUKONS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND YOU CAN HEAR CRACKLING WHEN DRIVING IT CAME OUT OF NO WHERE AND IS OUT OF WEATHER7
The dashboard cracked in 3 places shortly after we purchased vehicle. Above steering wheel and passenger side by airbag.
TAKATA AIRBAG: THIS AIRBAG ISSUE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RESOLVED BY AUGUST 2017 AND IT HAS NOT BEEN. MEAN WHILE I AM STILL DRIVING WITH A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AIRBAG.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD SAID ''ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF, BRAKES WERE HARDLY WORKING AND I COULD HARDLY STEER OR TURN THE WHEELS. MY CAR COPMLETLY LOST CONTROL AND I WAS LUCKY THERE WERE NO CARS BY ME OTHERWISE AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN INEVITABLE. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO ANSWER AND THEY SUGGESTED TO REPLACE MY IGNITION SWITCH AND CAMSHAFT SENSOR TO BEGIN WITH. NO GUARANTY THAT IT'LL FIX MY PROBLEM THEY SAID. READING ONLINE FORUMS LOOKS LIKE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT OTHERWISE SOONER OR LATER LIFES WILL BE LOST.
DASHBOARD IS DEFECTIVE AND A SAFETY HAZARD. IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYS IT COULD SEND PLASTIC SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE.
THE REAR LIFT GATE WILL SLAM SHUT ONCE OPEN BECAUSE THE HYDROLICS FAIL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHICH THEN ROLLED OVER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT FOOT, LEFT KNEE, A CONCUSION, CHEST PAINS, AND A BLACK EYE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE ALSO SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS), WHICH WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
5.3 FLEX FUEL ENGINE HAD TO REPLACE LIFTERS AND CAM AT 100,000 MILES. THEY NOW RECOMMEND REPLACING THE ENGINE.
THERE HAS YET TO BE AN OFFER TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS IN OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE ARE BEING SENT NOTICES TO DISCONTINUE USE BY NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND TO GET IT REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY, AND YET THERE IS NO SUCH ACTION FOR OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. WE DEMAND A REPAIR BE MADE AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND WE CAN NOT FIT OUR ENTIRE FAMILY IN IT WITHOUT SOMEONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
UPPER DASH BOARD CRACKING SEVERELY ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS WELL AS THE PLASTIC "CLIPS" THAT HOLD THE DASH BOARD IN PLACE BROKEN LOOSE. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD (1ST TIME UNDER WARRANTY - BROKEN PLASTIC CLIPS). THE CRACK JUST SUDDENLY APPEARED AFTER I HEARD SOME RATTLING IN AND AROUND THE CENTER OF THE DASH BOARD. DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL THERE WAS A 6" CRACK. COULD POSSIBLY HINDER STEERING COLUMN IF PLASTIC PIECES FROM THE CRACK FALL INTO THE AREA. PLASTIC SHARDS COULD POSE DANGEROUS IF ACCIDENT WERE TO OCCUR. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. OTHERS REPORT CRACKS BY PASSENGER AIRBAG.
CRACK DASH BY THE AIRBAG. THE DASH HAS A LOT OF CRACKS AND SOME ARE BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG
I HAVE CALLED TO GET APPOINTMENT FOR NEW AIR BAGS 2 YEARS AGO AND THEY KEEP PUTTING ME OFF , MY LOCAL GMC DEALER WILL NOT FIX MY AIR BAGS.
DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I GOT IN MY TRUCK, STARTED IT UP, AND HEARD THE DASH CRACK.
I CAME OUT TO A CRACKED DASHBOARD THIS MORNING. THE CRACK IS RIGHT AROUND THE AIRBAG AND I'M CONCERNED THE CRACKED DASH CAN EITHER PUNTURE THE AIRBAG IF DEPLOYED OR SEND PLASTIC PEICES FLYING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO AIRBAG AND ABOVE LEFT SIDE OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. CONCERN FOR SAFETY UPON COLLISION AND/OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED BEHIND STEERING WHEEL AREA. SUDDENLY APPEARED ON 12/07/2016. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS PARKED IN GARAGE AND NOT EXPOSED TO ANY EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS. CLEANING HAS ALWAYS BEEN DONE WITH A DAMP CLOTH. NO CHEMICALS ARE USED TO CLEAN THIS AREA. SUNSHADE IS USED IF VEHICLE IS PARKED OUTSIDE.
THE DASHBOARD WHICH IS MADE OF HARD PLASTIC IS CRACKING NEAR AND TOUCHING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. IT WILL CAUSE SHARDS OF THICK HARD PLASTIC TO BE PROJECTED INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. ALSO LARGE PIECES WILL ALSO BE INTERJECTED INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IN THE CASE OF ANY ACCIDENT BECAUSE THEY ARE LOOSE.
TAKATA RECALL...I LOOKED UP MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER WHEN THE RECALL CAME OUT AND MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A YEAR SINCE AND HAVE NOW TAKEN IT TO TRADE IN ON A NEW CAR. THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME IT IS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL AND SINCE THE RECALL IS UNREPAIRABLE AND IS A FATAL RECALL THEY WILL SCRAP THE CAR. I AM NOW OUT MONEY DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN ANDHAVEBEEN DRIVING MY 3 CHILDREN AROUND IN A CAR THAT HAD A FATAL RECALL.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD LOSS OF POWER AND TRACTION CONTROL WAS TURNING ON AND OFF. MOTOR STARTED WITH A LOUD TICKING SOUND. STOPPED VEHICLE TO CHECK UNDER HOOD CHECKED OIL LEVEL GOOD, OIL PRESSURE FINE, TEMP FINE,SHUT UNIT OFF AND RESTARTED. CALLED TRIPLE A FOR A TOW. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND NUMBER 7 CYLINDER COLLAPSED ORDERED PARTS AND REPLACED. PULLED REST OF LIFTERS ON DRIVER SIDE AND CHECKED FOR WEAR AND REPLACED TO SERVICE. RAN VEHICLE FOR 10 MINUTES AND STARTED WITH A FAILED LIFTER ON CYLINDER #1. THIS MOTOR WAS REDONE BY GMC DO TO HEAVY OIL CONSUMPTION 25000 MILES AGO. YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO LOOK INTO HOW MANY AFM LIFTER FAILURES THERE HAVE BEEN. THE GMC SHOP I GOT MY PARTS AT HAVE A CREW THATS ALL THEY DO IS REPLACE LIFTERS

DASHBOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CRACKED WITHOUT INCIDENT. JUST NOTICED ONE DAY THERE WAS A LARGE CRACK AND NOT AWARE OF HOW IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED SINCE IT WAS NOT IN ANY ACCIDENTS. CONCERNED THAT THE SHARP PIECES COULD INJURE PASSENGERS IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO CONCERNED THE AIR BAGS COULD BE AFFECTED.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED ON THE RIGHT, NEXT TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG.
THERE IS A CRACK ON MY DASHBOARD NEAR IT AIRBAG.
MY DASH IS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES. IT IS CRACKED ON THE DRIVER SIDE IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CRACK IS ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG. THE OTHER ONE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE ARIBAG. THE WHOLE DASH RATTLES NOW WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY SINCE THEY ARE RIGHT ON THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND OVER THE STEERING COLUMN.
DASH STARTED CRACKING ON DRIVERS SIDE. I AM WORRIED WHEN THE AIRBAG IS RELEASED FRAGMENTS MIGHT FLY INTO MY EYES AND FACE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS BUT DO NO SEE A RECALL. I AM HOPING GMC CAN COVER THE COST TO REPLACE THESE.

I BOUGHT A 2009 GMC YUKON HYBRID IN JULY 2016. THE DASH IS CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAGS. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THE AIRBAGS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY GMC.

'TAMARA RECALL' RECALL ON PASSENGER AIR BAG IN 2016. NEVER GOT IT FIXED BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAD A REPLACEMENT. EVEN ON 8/29/2018 CHECKED TO SEE IF THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT FOR THE 2009 YUKON WHICH NO. AS OF TODAY, JANUARY 08, 2019 NO REPLACEMENT FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SO FAR.
WHEN I ENTERED MY VEHICLE I NOTICED A CRACK ON MY DASHBOARD LEADING TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG PANEL. THE CRACK LEADS TO THE TOP LEFT OF THE AIRBAG PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, LOCATED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. WILL THIS INTERFERE WITH DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG? IN THE EVENT OF DEPLOYMENT, WILL THE DASH COME REMOVED AND INJURE A RIDER? WILL THE PLASTIC SHARDS CAUSE BODILY HARM?
DASH BOARD IS CRACKING, FOR NO KNOWN REASON. THIS IS HAPPENING BESIDE AIR BAG
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY WIFE AND I HEARD A POP AND SHORTY AFTER THAT SOME RATTLING. WE LOOKED AND FOUND THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD CRACKED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE DASH HAS SINCE CRACKED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH AND RIGHT AT THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT IT WOULD SERIOUSLY HURT A PASSENGER IF TH AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IF GM WOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. THE SERVICE WRITER AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IF IT WAS HIS HE WOULD JUST PIT A DASH COVER ON IT. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND I DONT DRIVE MY VEHICLES LIKE THAT. I HAVE BOUGHT ABOUT 25 GM'S IN MY LIFE SO I HAVE BEEN LOYAL EVEN THRU THE BAD TIMES. GM SHOULD PAY TO FIX THIS.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES AFTER ALREADY BEING REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP ONCE. THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND NOW IT IS CRACKED AGAIN IN THE SAME EXACT SPOT. MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALSO ON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN DRIVING AT 40 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME ACROSS THE DRIVERS PATH AND CRASH DIRECTLY HEAD ON INTO THE DRIVERS VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE STEERING WHEEL FRACTURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIP LASH AS WELL AS THE TWO CHILD PASSENGERS BUT MEDICAL TREATMENT WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE CARL BLACK CHEVROLET, BUICK, GMC DEALER (11500 E COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE NHTSA RECALL #16V381 WAS ISSUED MAY 27, 2016 CREATING A GM RECALL #2049151. GM'S STATUS IS "INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". ITS NOW 4 1/2 YEARS LATER. TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC, A DECISION MUST BE MADE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE/RISK RELATING TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS.
