WHILE DRIVING, I STARTED HEARING STRANGE RATTLING NOISES FROM THE DASHBOARD. WE I INSPECTED THE DASH BOARD, I NOTICED IT WAS CRACKED BY THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ON BOTH SIDES. I'M CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. SHOULD THE AIRBAG DEPLOY, THE CRACKED DASHBOARD WILL MOST LIKELY EXPLODE, POSSIBLY CAUSING MORE INJURY THAN THE AIRBAG WAS DESIGNED TO AVOID. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT FROM GM CUSTOMERS. WHILE I RECENTLY PAID TO HAVE MY DASH REPLACED, I'M HOPING GM WILL ISSUE A RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND I WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR REPAIRING THIS DEFECT.
TAKATA AIR BAGS. GMC TUSTIN HAS BEEN SAYING THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS "YET" SINCE MAY 2016. WHEN WILL PARTS BE AVAILABLE? CLEARLY GMC JUST DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO KEEP IT'S CUSTOMERS SAFE. WHAT DO WE DO TO GET NEW SAFE AIRBAGS INSTALLED??
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG. IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THE SHARP SHARDS OF PLASTIC COULD PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG OR THE SHARDS OF PLASTIC COULD BECOME PROJECTILES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. LOEBER MOTORS (4255 W TOUHY AVE, LINCOLNWOOD, IL 60712, (847) 675-1000) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY DASH STARTED CRACKING ON THE DRIVER SIDE IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CRACK IS NOW ABOUT 2 INCHES LONG VERTICAL TO THE STEERING WHEEL. I STARTED CONTACTING UPHOLSTERY REPAIR SHOPS AND FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN SO DEPENDABLE BUT THIS DASH PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED IN FUTURE MODELS AS WELL AS RECALLED FOR THE 2009 YUKON DENALI.

DASHBOARD IS FAILING EXTENSIVELY DUE TO AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT. AREAS OF FAILURE INCLUDE UP TO AND AROUND THE PORTION WHICH SAYS "AIR BAG" WHICH IS CREATING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN. PLASTIC FRAGMENTS ARE LOOSE ON CRACKED AREAS OF DASH. THIS PRESENTS A POSSIBLE HIGH-SPEED PROJECTILE HAZARD IF AIR BAG(S) ARE DEPLOYED AND CATCH ON LOOSE/CRACKED AREAS DURING DEPLOYMENT. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY INCIDENTS. DASHBOARD SURROUNDING AIRBAG CRACKED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND CONTINUES TO DEVELOP ADDITIONAL CRACKS AS TIME GOES ON. FINALLY, DASHBOARD IS VIBRATING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING ADDITIONAL CRACKS AND FRAGMENTS OF PLASTIC TO COME LOOSE. DISCUSSIONS WITH MECHANICS INDICATE THAT ENTIRE DASH MAY COME LOOSE AND FALL IN TO DRIVERS OR PASSENGER UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL IN ADDITION TO POSSIBLE AIR-BAG PROJECTILE HAZARD. TWO LOCAL GMC DEALERS INDICATED THAT THIS IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR AND THAT THE CONSUMER SHOULD REPLACE THE DASH ON THEIR OWN IF THERE IS A SAFETY CONCERN BY THE CONSUMER.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I' AM SUBMITTING THIS CORRESPONDENCE IN REFERENCE TO NUMEROUS CRACKS ON MY DASHBOARD ON THE DESCRIBED VEHICLE. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE CRACKS ARE GETTING WORSE ESPECIALLY AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, WHICH IS NOW CAUSING THE AIR BAG COVER TO BULGE, CAUSING CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU
LEFT REAR SEAT BELT FAILS TO EXTRACT. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THE LOCK BAR WAS SEIZED UP AND COULD NOT BE RELEASED AND THAT THE ENTIRE SEATBELT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS ONLY A 6 YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND AT 6'4 270 I DON'T HAVE ANYONE EVER SIT BEHIND ME. THIS IS PROBABLY THE LEAST USED SEATBELT IN MY YUKON. . SAFETY DEVICES SUCH AS SEAT BELTS & AIR BAGS SHOULD NEVER FAIL EVER ! IF THEY DO THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE DUE TO POOR DESIGN. I JUST THANK GOD IT DIDN'T MALFUNCTION DURING AN ACCIDENT. GMC'S SEAT BELT DESIGN NEEDS TO BE REDESIGNED.
THE DASH IS CRACKING ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THIS IS A NOTED SAFETY ISSUE SINCE AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT MAY CREATE FLYING BROKEN PARTS FROM THE DASH. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP A FEW TIMES, NO FIX AVAILABLE, I HAVE CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY STATED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS CAN BE FIXED, MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AROUND THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG SECTION - THEY SAY NOT TO WORRY.
OUR 2009 GMC YUKON DASHBOARD HAS CRACKS NEAR THE AIRBAG MECHANISM THAT COULD LEAD TO INJURIES RELATED TO SHRAPNEL SHOULD MY FAMILY BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. EVIDENTLY GMC IS NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DASHBOARD AND INSTEAD MAKING THE CUSTOMER RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACEMENT COSTS.
DASHBOARD DEVELOPED CRACKS ALONG THE CORNERS OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS, THEN ANOTHER CRACK APPEARED OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE HOOD OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL.
DASH CRACKED FROM DRIVER SIDE ALL THE WAY OVER TO AIRBAGS ON PASSENGER SIDE. DASH SHARDS COULD SPRAY THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE SHOULD THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY
A FEW WEEKS AGO THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK ON MY 2009 GMC YUKON. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW ON 10/10/09 AND HAD ALSO PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH EXPIRE 10/2015. WARRANTY EXPIRED ANOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND THIS HAPPENED. I WENT ONLINE TO FIND THAT MANY FOLKS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE WITH AN ACTIVE LAWSUIT. GMC SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO REPARI THIS FAULTY DASHBOARD TO AVOID FURTHER INJURY OF PLASTIC FLYING IN PASSENGERS FACES IF AN AIRBAG EVER DOES DEPLOY.
THERE IS CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD FROM THE UPPER LEFT SIDE OF THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. THE DASH IS ALSO CRACKED ABOVE WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL AND INSTRUMENT PANEL IS. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. ONE ON DRIVERS SIDE THE OTHER ON PASSENGER SIDE CLOSE TO AIRBAG LEAVING A HOLE. NOTHING HAD BEEN PLACED ON THE DASHBOARD IT JUST CRACKED DURING THE SUMMER.
TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF DASHBOARD ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG COVER IS CRACKING. MY GMC HAS 26000 MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN PARKED IN A GARAGE. I'VE CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP.
THE PAST FEW DAYS WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND HIGHWAYS AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS, I HAVE EXPERIENCED MY RADIO POWERING OFF AND ON EVERY FEW MINUTES, THE WARNING LIGHT TO HAVE MY TIRE PRESSURE SERVICED, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS LIT UP AND A STABILITRAK WARNING MESSAGE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. WHAT IF MY VEHICLE TOTALLY SHUTS DOWN WHILE I AM DRIVING? THERE ARE NO RECALLS ACCORDING TO GMC'S WEBSITE. I ALSO WANT TO REPORT THAT MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AND STARTING TO SEPARATE, WHICH WORRIES ME SINCE THE CRACK IS NEAR MY AIRBAGS, AND CRACKED OVER MY STEERING COLUMN. GMC HAS NO RECALL FOR THIS EITHER AND I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT'S A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH OWNER'S OF YUKONS AND TAHOES AROUND MY YEAR MODEL. I HAVE 119K MILES ON MY VEHICLE SO I AM SURE GMC WILL NOT REPAIR ANYTHING UNLESS I PAY FOR IT MYSELF, WHICH DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT TO ME, ESPECIALLY WHEN I FEEL MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS AT RISK.
THE VEHICLES DASH HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. THE FIRST CRACK HAS OCCURRED IN THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INTRODUCING A POTENTIAL STRUCTURAL AND DEBRIS CONCERN UPON AN AIRBAG DEFLATION. THE SECOND CRACK HAS OCCURRED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF THE DASH PANEL.
THE UPPER DASH HAS TWO CRACKS NEXT TO THE PASSENGERS AIRBAG OPENING. I CANNOT GET THESE CRACKS REPAIRED BECAUSE THAT MAY INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE AIRBAG. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I CANNOT FIND OUT IF THE BROKEN, CRACKED UPPER DASH COULD ALSO INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE AIRBAG. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY OPEN CASE # 8-1633101708 BUT HAVE NOT OFFERED TO FIX OR REPLACE THE UPPER DASH.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES WITHOUT ANY KNOWN CAUSE.
CRACKED DASHBOARD
THE VEHICLES DASH HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. THE FIRST CRACK HAS OCCURRED IN THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INTRODUCING A POTENTIAL STRUCTURAL AND DEBRIS CONCERN UPON AN AIRBAG DEFLATION. THE SECOND CRACK HAS OCCURRED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE DEFROST AIR VENTS ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF THE DASH PANEL. A THIRD HAS AROSE JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE SECOND, AGAIN TRAVELING FROM THE VENT TO THE TOP OF THE CONTOURS ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS NOT ONLY A MATTER OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY, BUT NOT THE LEVEL OF QUALITY ONE WOULD EXPECT FROM A VEHICLE WITH A STICKER PRICE NORTH OF $50K. THERE IS NO LONGER STRUCTURE INTEGRITY WITHIN THE DASH AND IT NOW BOUNCES EMBARRASSINGLY WITH EVERY BUMP IN THE ROAD. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS DEFECTIVE DASH.
I HAVE TWO CRACKS IN MY DASH. ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND ONE THAT GOES DIRECTLY TO THE AIRBAG.
2009 GMC YUKON XL, 61000 MILES. DASH AROUND THE AIRBAG AND ALL OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS AND HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN OFF ROAD. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVY/GMC TRUCKS. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT PIECES OF THE DASH WILL POSE A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A RATTLING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE CENTER OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED A CRACK FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LEADING DOWN TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
CRACK ON DASHBOARD CONNECTED TO WHERE AIR BAG.
A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH DASHBOARD CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES IS A SAFETY CONCERN IF AIR BAGS ARE DEPLOYED. GM WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE DEFECT. MANY COMPLAINTS AND NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS SAFETY CONCERN. DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES DIRECTLY BEHIND AIRBAG.
AT 80,000 MILES I DISCOVERED THAT MY DASH IS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES AND THAT IT IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO PASSENGERS IF THE CRACK (THAT IS SHARP PLASTIC) IS TO CUT OR RUPTURE THE AIRBAG IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND NEVER KEPT OUTSIDE. THIS IS A HUGE GM PROBLEM AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS THAT NEED THIS FIXED. THERE ARE EVEN FACEBOOK GROUPS WITH THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ACROSS MULTIPLE VEHICLES. THIS CRACK LITERALLY HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT OR OTHER DAMAGE, IT JUST CRACKED. I AM CONCERNED THAT WERE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY THAT THE DASHBOARD FRAGMENTS WOULD BECOME PROJECTILES.
TAKATA RECALL. NO REPLACEMENT HAS OCCURRED AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS.
YUKON STARTED DYING AT STOP LIGHTS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. STARTED TO PULL OUT FROM INTERSECTION ALMOST GOT T-BONED WHEN VEHICLE DIED. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SOME 2009 YUKONS FOR FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE BUT GMC SAID THIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THEN THEY ARE ADMITTING. I GUESS SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE! TOWED VEHICLE TO MECHANIC HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. $690.00. SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET REIMBURSED FOR A DEFECTED PART! RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED.
PASSENGER SEAT BELT WAS ON, WHEN I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND THE PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO UNBUCKLE THE SEAT BELT IT WOULD NOT UNLATCH. AFTER A FEW JIGGLES IT CAME UNLOCKED AND NOW WILL NOT LATCH. WHEN TRYING TO BUCKLE UP, IT SLIDES IN BUT DOESN'T LOCK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, BY THE FRONT WINDSHIELD, AND OVER THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONTACT STATED THE CRACKS WERE EXTREMELY SEVERE AND GETTING WORST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AT CORNERS OF THE SAFETY BAGS. NORMAL VIBRATION HAS CAUSED THE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD TO EXTEND OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CRASH BAGS AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DUE TO THE CRACKS.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED GM, DEALERSHIPS AS GM TOLD ME AND NOW HERE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE WITH THIS CURRENT SITUATION AND NO FIX FOR THIS MAKE OF VEHICLES. I'M REQUESTING SOME BETTER ANSWER OTHER THAN "DON'T PUT A PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT" OR "DISENGAGE THE AIRBAG". I WOULD LIKE EITHER MY VEHICLE TO BE OUT OF MY HANDS FREE AND CLEAR OR SOME OTHER SOLUTION NOT PUTTING ME IN ANY MORE OF AN INCONVENIENCE. THIS IS A SEVERE ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN MANY PROBLEMS. THERE ARE NO PHOTOS OR MORE DETAILS AS A CONSUMER WE CAN NOT VIEW THE AIRBAG. I LIVE IN TEXAS WHERE CONDITIONS ARE HOT AND HUMID IN WHICH THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY STATES IS MORE OF A CAUSE FOR THE DETERIORATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE A CODE FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM SHOWED UPON INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V154000 (FUEL SYSTEM GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE DOOR HANDLES ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HAVE BECOME SO SHARP THAT WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR THEY CUT YOUR FINGER. BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD OUR FINGERS CUT FROM SLIGHT TO VERY BLOODY. THIS APPEARS THAT IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT GM REFUSES TO DEAL WITH. *TR
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE CRACKED PART IS VERY SHARP AND WILL LIKELY YEAR THE AIRBAG IF IT DEPLOYS DURNING A CRASH, WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO, IT SEEMS VERY BRITTLE AND THE FORCE OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT COULD SEND FLYING SHRAPNEL INTO PASSENGERS FACES.
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS NOT OPERATING. 2 OF OUR DOORS FAIL TO LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON OR KEY FOB. WE MUST MANUALLY PUSH OR PULL THE DOOR LOCKS TO GET THEM TO FULLY LOCK OR UNLOCK CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. OUR YOUNG KIDS COULD OPEN THE REAR DOORS AT ANY TIME IF WE DON'T MANUALLY LOCK THEM. ALSO DOORS WILL NOT LOCK LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND THERE'S EVEN A YOUTUBE VIDEO ON HOW TO REPLACE THEM! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
THE PROBLEM ON MY 2009 YUKON, IN LESS THEN 2 WEEKS MY DASHBOARD CRACKED IN 3 PLACES. 2 BY THE AIR BAGS AND 1 BY THE STEERING COLUMN. I'M THINKING THE ONES BY THE AIR BAGS ARE A SAFETY PROBLEM. IF THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAPPEN TO GO OFF , WITH THE CRACKED DASHBOARD. WILL THE DASH EXPLODE IN TO PIECES, LIKE SHRAPNEL. CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO HUMAN LIFE? THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. IT STAYS UNDER A BREEZEWAY WHEN NOT IN USE. WE WHERE DRIVING AN HERD A POP IN THE DASH. THEN THE NEXT THING WE KNOW WE HAVE 3 CRACKS. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM.. *TR
I PURCHASED A GM CERTIFIED VEHICLE ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2014. ON OCTOBER 31, 2014 I WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A NOISE NEAR THE PASSENGER DASH. I LOOKED AND NOTICED A CRACK APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AT THE AIRBAG. THE CRACK IS ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG AND RUNS FROM THE EDGE OF THE DASH TO THE AIRBAG. THE CRACK MEETS THE CUT OUT WHERE THE AIRBAG IS. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT GM CUSTOMER CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THE SAFETY CONCERNS I HAVE AS IT RELATES TO THIS CRACK LEADING TO THE AIRBAG. EACH TIME I CONTACT GM THEY DO NOT SEEMS TOO CONCERNED AND TELL ME IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DASH. I SEE THIS CRACK AS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY THE CRACK COULD POSSIBLY PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG DUE TO THE LOCATION OR SEND SHARP PLASTIC FLYING POTENTIALLY INTO THE PASSENGER'S EYE. THIS ISSUE IS ALARMING BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN 2007-2009 GM VEHICLES. GM IS NOT WANTING TO ISSUE A RECALL, HOWEVER, THIS PROBLEM OCCURS IN ALMOST ALL VEHICLES OF THIS TYPE. I AM UNHAPPY ABOUT THE RESPONSE I HAVE GOTTEN FROM GM CUSTOMER CARE AND WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO BE AWARE OF THE SITUATION. MY DASH CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREAS, IN FRONT OF STEERING WHEEL AND PASSENGER SIDE. LONG GROWING CRACKS THAT ARE PROBABLY AFFECTING AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN KEPT IN THE GARAGE!! NO REASON FOR IT TO CRACK AND MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS.
DASHBOARD CRACKED 2 YEARS AGO WAS REPLACED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AFTER INSTALLATION THE DASH CRACKED AGAIN ONE YEAR LATER. THE DEALER WILL NOT HONOR A WARANTY WHEN THIS IS ACTUALLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE IT IS CRACKED NEAR THE AIRBAG. IF IT WEE TO EVER DEPLY PIECES OF BROKEN PLASTIC WOULD BECOME PROJECTILES.
DOOR HANDLES ARE FAULTY, SOMETIMES THEY WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR AND OTHER TIMES YOU CANNOT SHUT THE DOOR BECAUSE, THE DOOR HANDLE GETS STUCK. *TR
