THE DASH PANEL IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND COULD AFFECT THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DURING A CRASH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE CAUSE OF THE CRACKS ARE DUE TO A COMBINATION OF THE FLEXING OF THE AUTOMOBILE, LACK OF PROPER SUPPORT AND HEAT.

MY DASHBOARD HAS BEEN SLOWLY DETERIORATING UNTIL YESTERDAY. WHEN I GOT IN THIS MORNING I NOTICED ADDITIONAL CRACKING AND ONE CRACK IS SO BAD THAT IT IS CAVING IN AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE THAT THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE AIRBAG OR THAT IT WILL NOT THROW PIECES OF PLASTIC DASH AROUND IF IT HAS TO DEPLOY. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS CHROME WRAPPING ON THE DOOR HANDLES AND THE PASSENGER DOOR INSIDE AND OUT HAS BEGUN TO PEEL. MY WIFE SUSTAINED A DEEP CUT ON HER INDEX FINGER AND I HAVE TO TELL EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO GETS IN OR OUT TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE SHARP PIECES. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT REALLY A CONCERN AND ADVISED I DEAL WITH AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER. MY TRANSLATION WAS THAT THIS WILL COST ME GREATLY TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON THIS CLASS OF VEHICLE.
DASHBOARD CRACKED AT PASSENGER AIR BAG. IF DEPLOYED PIECES OF PLASTIC WILL FLY THRU THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND HURT OR KILL PASSENGERS OR PUNCTURE AI BAG RENDERING IT USELESS
SINCE 2016 THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE DASH CRACKING, RECENTLY THIS ISSUE HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. THE DASH IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO FALL IN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MOSTLY DURING TIMES IT WAS SITTING ALTHOUGH DRIVING HAS DEFINITELY MADE IT MUCH WORSE. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DOES HAPPEN TO GO OFF IT'S GOING TO THROW SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC FLYING THROUGHOUT THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE FOUND IS IF I SET ANY PAPERS ON THE DASH THEY FALL INTO THE DASH. I CAN NOW SEE THE WIRING INSIDE THE DASH BECAUSE OF THE MISSING PIECES. ON TOP OF THIS YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL TOUCHING THE DASH AS I HAVE BEEN CUT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROM THE SHARP EDGES CREATED BY THIS ISSUE. THE CENTER OF THE DASH APPEARS TO BE ON BORROWED TIME IT HAS SUNKEN NEARLY A HALF AN INCH WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THIS IS JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR THE VEHICLE AND REFUSES TO FIX IT WITHOUT ME FOOTING THE BILL. THIS JUST SEEMS OUTRAGEOUS ON A CAR PRICED NORTH OF 60K
TAKATA RECALL, MY VEHICLE IS KEPT IN A GARAGE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND LOOKED AND MY DASH CRACKED. THE CRACK CAN INTERFERE WITH MY AIRBAGS DUE TO PLASTIC BEING CRACKED.
THERE IS A LARGE CRACK ON THE DASH NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THIS RAISES SAFETY CONCERNS WITH POSSIBLE FAULTY AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POTENTIAL FOR FLYING PARTS WITH DEPLOYMENT. THIS HAPPENED OVER TIME BUT WAS NOTICED WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
DASHBOARD HAS TWO LARGE CRACKS IN IT, AFFECTING THE AREA AROUND THE AIRBAG. ADDITIONALLY, IT RATTLES, CAUSING THE CRACKS TO GROW. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED BY THE DEALER TWICE WITHOUT SUCCESS.
TWICE MY CAR HAS LOST ENGINE POWER. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER REPAIRED SOME WIRING AND MOST RECENTLY MY CAR LOST POWER IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN DALLAS (SCARY!) BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WERE ALSO OUT DUE TO THIS SAME PROBLEM, SO THE BRAKES DID NOT FAIL BUT I HAD TO PUMP THEM TO WORK. THE DEALER NOW SAYS I NEED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY, SENSOR AND FILTER.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES BY THE AIRBAGS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE WILL BE SHARDS OF PLASTIC FLYING AT ME/MY FAMILY SHOULD AN AIRBAG DEPLOY. THE CRACKS ARE GROWING AND HAPPEN AT A STANDSTILL AND WHILE DRIVING. I KNOW THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2007-2013 DASHES BECAUSE THERE IS A FACEBOOK GROUP WITH OVER 4000 MEMBERS WHO OWN GM PRODUCTS (YUKON, TAHOE, SILVERADO ETC) THEY ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!!
DASH IS CRACKING IN TWO PLACES AND NEAR THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. NO TRAUMA CAUSED THE CRACKING AND NO ARMOR ALL OR LIKE PRODUCTS HAVE EVER BEEN USED ON THE VEHICLE IN ANY AREA
THE DASH PANELS ARE CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE IS 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 86,000 MILES AND THE CRACKS DEVELOPED IN THE LAST MONTH. NOTHING HAS HIT THE DASH TO BREAK IT, IT JUST CRACKED AND THE CRACKS ARE SPREADING. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT FLYING PLASTIC SHRAPNEL OF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY.
OUR DASHBOARD CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD SHAKES AND MOVES WHILE THE CAR MOVES. THE DASH IS VERY UNSTABLE.
DASHBOARD CRACKING
DASH CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN ABOUT FIVE DIFFERENT PLACES
THE DASH IS CRACKING ALL OVER, FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER. STARTED AS A SMALL CRACK AND IS NOW THE ENTIRE DASH VERY QUICKLY
YET ANOTHER SEVERE DASH CRACK COMPLAINT TO FILE WITH THE MANY. CRACKED DASH THAT COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT PROPER DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG.
HUGE DASHBOARD CRACK IN FRONT OF PASSENGER SIDE
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BADLY ON DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE. IF AIR BAG DEPLOYS THE PLASTIC WILL BE SHATTERED AND BLOWN ACROSS THE CAB. IT WILL EVENTUALLY FALL APART ALTOGETHER AND MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF HE CAR A RISKY PROPOSITION WITH THE DASHBOARD FALLING INTO THE DRIVERS LAP AND DISTRACTING HIM FROM DRIVING. IT IS A SUPPORT PROBLEM THAT HAS ALLOWED NORMAL VIBRATIONS DUE TO DRIVING TO CRACK THE PLASTIC THROUGH FATIGUE STRESS.
OUR 2010 GMC YUKON XL HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND WELL MAINTAINED. LIKE MANY OTHER GMC TRUCK OWNERS OUR DASH CRACKED RIGHT NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT IS GETTING LARGER AND HAS STARTED TO EXPOSE THE COMPONENTS UNDERNEATH THE DASH/AIRBAG COVER. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ON NEWS CHANNELS AND A LAW SUIT HAS APPARENTLY BEEN FILED IN FLORIDA. HOPEFULLY THE DEALERSHIP OR GM WILL REPAIR.
CRACKED DASH... THE DASH IS CRACKED ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG... I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS DOES NOT CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO MALFUNCTION IN CASE OF A COLLISION... ALSO IT IS CRACKING ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN A COUPLE OF PLACES.... WHEN YOU PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR A VEHICLE, YOU SHOULD GET A QUALITY PRODUCT.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED, MILD FALL WEATHER. FOUND THAT DASHBOARD JUST ABOVE DRIVER'S INSTRUMENT PANEL IS SEVERELY CRACKED, EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AND NOISE WHEN OPERATED AND POTENTIAL HARM TO OPERATOR IF AIR BAGS DEPLOY.
DASH HAS SPLIT AT CORNER OF AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE OF DASH. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON DEFECT WITH GM VEHICLES. GM DOESN'T ADMIT ANY FAULT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT.
DASHBOARD CRACK
THE DASHBOARDS OF 2007-2013 CHEVY, GMC, CADILLAC SUV'S AND TRUCKS BECOME CRACKED DUE TO A FACTORY DEFECT IN THE MATERIALS USED TO MAKE THEM. THEY IN TURN RATTLE SEVERELY. THE MAIN CAUSE FOR CONCERN IN UPON AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, PIECES FROM THE DASH CAN PUNCTURE THE AIR BAG RENDERING IT USELESS AND ALSO PIECES FROM THE DASH CAN BECOME PROJECTILES CAUSING SEVERE INJURY AS WELL. GM HAS FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SEVERITY OF THIS PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY IT. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER IDENTICAL CASES ON THE INTERNET ON VARIOUS GM FORUMS ALL STATING THE SAME THING. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!
I HAVE TWO MAJOR CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD THAT ARE GETTING LARGER AND LARGER. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THERE IS ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAGS GO OFF THERE WILL BE BITS OF PLASTIC THAT FLY TOWARDS YOU AS WELL. GMC WILL NOT DO ANYTHING NOR HELP ANYONE WITH THIS ISSUE.
CRACKED DASH, JUST PURCHASED FROM A LOCAL GM DEALER 9/30/2015 AND JUST NOTICED CRACK ON DASH THAT RUNS ABOUT 8 IN LONGS FROM STEERING WHEEL TO WINDSHIELD AND FROM AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE TO WINDSHIELD THAT IS ABOUT 1 INCH LONG. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT ONCE TO CHURCH THE DAY I PURCHASED AND UPON ENTERING VEHICLE ON MONDAY THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED IT

STARTED VEHICLE IGNITION ON HOT DAY. WHEN I TURNED ON THE AIR CONDITIONING I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND SAW THE DASHBOARD CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. REPORTED PROBLEM TO GM WHEN IT HAPPENED BUT THEY REFUSED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE A 2010 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASH HAS CRACKED. FROM WEB SEARCHES, IT APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING TO INDIVIDUALS WITH SIMILAR VEHICLES FROM 2007-2013. A SECOND CRACK APPEARED BEHIND THE PASSENGER DASHBOARD NEAR AIRBAG SHORTLY AFTER THE FIRST CRACK APPEARED. IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE OVER 2,300+ PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK (HTTPS://WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/GROUPS/GMDASHCRACK/ ) WITH THE SAME AREAS CRACKING/FAILING. THIS CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE.
I HEARD A POP ONE MORNING WHEN GETTING INTO MY VEHICLE. THE DASHBOARD CRACKED AT THE CORNERS 2 FRONT CORNERS OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS
OUR 2010 GMC YUKON RECENTLY DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. WE ARE CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THOSE PASSENGERS RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY, HARD PLASTIC DASH MATERIAL COULD INJURY PASSENGERS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT GM DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO ADDRESS. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW, WHICH HAS BEEN GARAGED ITS ENTIRE SERVICE LIFE.
AFTER 3 YEARS I HAD MY DASHBOARD REPLACE DUE TO A CRACK & RATTLE WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT STILL COST ME $500. 2 YEARS LATER THE REPLACEMENT DASH HAS CRACKED AND I HAVE YET TO REPLACE IT DUE TO COST.
DUAL CRACKS ON DASH. ONE BY AIR BAG AND THE OTHER BY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. JUST STARTED THE CAR ONE DAY AND THE CRACKS APPEARED. NO CRASH NO CHEMICALS WERE USED.
TAKATA RECALL AND DASH CRACKED @ 39,475 MILEAGE CAUSING THE DASH TO BE WEAK AND CRACK AT 2 OTHER PLACES ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF DASH BETWEEN STEERING WHEEL AND WINDSHEILD

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACK CONTROL INDICATED OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE TI WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUG FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
DASH HAS CRACKED ABOVE SPEEDOMETER AREA FROM WINDOW TO THE STEERING WHEEL. ANOTHER DANGEROUS CRACK AGAINST PASSENGER AIR BAG. FEEL UNSAFE LETTING PEOPLE RIDE IN THE FRONT SET BECAUSE OF IT.
WE OWN A 2010 YUKON AND HAVE A CRACKED DASH BOARD, THIS LOOKS TO BE THE RESULT OF POOR DESIGN AND CHEEP PLASTIC. I SEE THAT 1000 OF OTHER GM/CHEVY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. FROM WHAT I CAN SEE THE DEALERSHIP WOULD LOVE TO FIX THIS AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE $2,000. YOU WOULD THINK THAT AFTER YOU PAY CLOSE TO $50,000 THAT GM WOULD CONSIDER THIS AN IMPORTANT CUSTOMER RELATION ISSUE. ALSO NOT TO MENTION THE SAFETY HAZARD THIS POSES.
2 LARGE CRACKS ON DASH BOARD NEAR THE AIRBAG STORAGE ON BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE
DASH IS CRACKED SEVERELY AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL IMPACT THE ARIRBAGS. THE CRACKS ARE GROWING AGGRESSIVELY! NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR A HIGH END LUXURY SUV!!
