THE DASH IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREAS AND COULD COME APART IN AN ACCIDENT
The top of the dashboard instrument panel keeps cracking in several places despite trying to prevent any or further cracks. It is very visible and it is now cracking towards the steering wheel and the cover to the passenger air bag area. concerned that because it is in close range to passenger airbag component area as well as the steering column area that eventually there will some malfunction in either components.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SUNSET CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 1800 BAY RD, SARASOTA, FL 34239, (941)-404-2139), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
DASHBOARD CRACKED. THERE IS A CRACK ALL OF A SUDDEN ON THE DASH PANEL ABOVE THE ODOMETER. VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT AND NOT EXPOSED TO DIRECT SUN OR EXTREME COLD MUCH AT ALL.
MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN 2 DIFFERENT SPOTS. WORRIED THAT WILL CONTINUE!
THE VEHICLE HAS A CRACKED DASHBOARD WHICH CAN BE A SAFETY FEATURE FOR THE AIR BAGS ETC. GMC KNOWS THEY HAVE AN ISSUE BUT WON'T RECALL IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBORD ABRUPTLY FRACTURED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD FRACTURED ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY INTERIOR DASH ON MY 2010 GMC YUKON DENALI THAT STARTED A CRACK AT APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES. IT HAS SINCE CRACKED IN OTHER PARTS OF THE DASH NOT CONNECTED TO THE FIRST CRACK. THAT INITIAL CRACK HAS SIGNIFICANTLY GROWN SINCE IT ORIGINATED. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS CRACK, NOW ALMOST A HOLE, FROM TWO CRACK BEING NEXT TO EACH OTHER WILL IMPEDE OR CAUSE A "MISSILE" HAZARD SHOULD THE PASSENGER AIRBAG EVER BE DEPLOYED. IF PICTURES ARE NEEDED I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVIDE THEM. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH GMC CARS, OR SPECIFIACLLY THIS TYPE OF CAR.

DRIVER'S SIDE DASH IN FRONT OF STEERING WHEEL SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED (6-8" FISSURE). FROM VENT NEAR WINDSHIELD TO ABOUT HALFWAY UP CURVED PART OF DASH. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE.
THE DASHBOARD BY THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG CRACKED
SINCE 2016 THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE DASH CRACKING, RECENTLY THIS ISSUE HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. THE DASH IS LITERALLY ABOUT TO FALL IN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MOSTLY DURING TIMES IT WAS SITTING ALTHOUGH DRIVING HAS DEFINITELY MADE IT MUCH WORSE. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DOES HAPPEN TO GO OFF IT'S GOING TO THROW SHARP PIECES OF PLASTIC FLYING THROUGHOUT THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE FOUND IS IF I SET ANY PAPERS ON THE DASH THEY FALL INTO THE DASH. I CAN NOW SEE THE WIRING INSIDE THE DASH BECAUSE OF THE MISSING PIECES. ON TOP OF THIS YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL TOUCHING THE DASH AS I HAVE BEEN CUT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROM THE SHARP EDGES CREATED BY THIS ISSUE. THE CENTER OF THE DASH APPEARS TO BE ON BORROWED TIME IT HAS SUNKEN NEARLY A HALF AN INCH WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THIS IS JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR THE VEHICLE AND REFUSES TO FIX IT WITHOUT ME FOOTING THE BILL. THIS JUST SEEMS OUTRAGEOUS ON A CAR PRICED NORTH OF 60K
THERE IS A LARGE CRACK ON THE DASH NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THIS RAISES SAFETY CONCERNS WITH POSSIBLE FAULTY AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POTENTIAL FOR FLYING PARTS WITH DEPLOYMENT. THIS HAPPENED OVER TIME BUT WAS NOTICED WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.

CRACKED DASH, JUST PURCHASED FROM A LOCAL GM DEALER 9/30/2015 AND JUST NOTICED CRACK ON DASH THAT RUNS ABOUT 8 IN LONGS FROM STEERING WHEEL TO WINDSHIELD AND FROM AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE TO WINDSHIELD THAT IS ABOUT 1 INCH LONG. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT ONCE TO CHURCH THE DAY I PURCHASED AND UPON ENTERING VEHICLE ON MONDAY THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED IT
2010 GMC YUKON HAS BEEN CRACKING OVER THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THEN ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WE NOTICED THE CRACKS WHILE CLEANING SINCE IT HAS A DASH COVER. VEHICLE IS GARAGED AND ALWAYS HAS A DASH MAT AND WINDSHIELD SHADE. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO GO OFF.

THE CONTACT FELT THAT IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC WOULD EMIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
