MY DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED FROM THE AIR BAG TO THE NEXT SHEET OF PLASTIC TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD. I HAD THIS REPLACED ONCE BEFORE WHEN THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT HAS NOW HAPPENED AGAIN, ALMOST A YEAR LATER. I AM CONCERNED THIS WILL AFFECT THE AIRBAG OR CAUSE THE DASHBOARD TO SPLINTER IF THE AIRBAG IT IS DEPLOYED.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AND I PARK UNDERGROUND AT WORK AND IN THE GARAGE AT HOME, NO SUN EXPOSURE.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AT THE CORNER WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD BE DEPLOYED. WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THIS CAR HAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS WILL TAKE PLACE. MY CONCERN IS WHETHER THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY AND NOT GET RIPPED BY THE SHARP EDGE OF THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD. THE DEALER WANTS $1000. TO REPLACE THE DASH THAT SIMPLY CRACKED FROM THE TEXAS HEAT. ANY STUDIES ON THIS? THIS JUST CRACKED WHILE SITTING PARKED. THE DATE OF APRIL 1, 2016 IS AN ESTIMATE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE AREAS. ONE PLACE IS AROUND THE AIR BAG . I AM CONCERNED THAT IN A COLLISION THE DEPLOYING AIRBAG WOULD SEND DASHBOARD DEBRIS THROUGH THE CABIN!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON XL. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED IN FRONT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000. UPDATED 08/30/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A TRIANGULAR CRACK GOING THROUGH THE DASH. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW, OR STRESS POINT AND IT WOULD COST @ 1200 TO FIX. UPDATED 10/26/16.*JB
I HAVE NOW 3 CRACKS (1 VERY LARGE) IN MY DASHBOARD. A DEALER IN FL (WHERE WE JUST MOVED FROM) SAID THAT GMC WOULD SPLIT THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT WITH ME, BUT WE WERE RE-STATIONED TO NC SHORTLY THEREAFTER (ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY) AND HAD TO LEAVE. I TOOK IT TO THE NC DEALER ONLY 2 MONTHS LATER AND THEY WON'T HELP COVER EVEN ONE CENT. THEY WANT TO CHARGE $1,100 TO REPLACE WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT AND IN FL I WAS ONLY GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR $460. HOW IS AN INTERNATIONAL COMPANY NOT ABLE TO OFFER A STANDARD POLICY/FEE FOR SUCH A CASE? THESE CRACKS APPEARED ALMOST OVERNIGHT AND ARE ONLY GETTING LARGER. THE THIRD CRACK JUST APPEARED AND I REGULARLY USE A SUN SHADE ON SUMMER AND WARM DAYS. 1 CRACK IS ALSO RIGHT AT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BOX. THE CAR WAS NOT ON NOR IN MOTION WHEN THEY FIRST OCCURRED.
MY 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI HAS 50K MILES AND IS GARAGED DAILY. LIKE MANY OTHERS MY DASH IS CRACKING OVER THE SPEEDOMETER. I FEAR THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS WILL SEND SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE WICH WILL CAUSE MY FAMILY AND I GREAT HARM. I THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND DEMAND A RECALL. I HOPE GM WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND DO THE RIGHT THING.

DASHBOARD CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG.
DASHBOARD HAS TWO CRACKS, ONE BEING AT PASSENGER AIRBAG. FEAR IS IF AIRBAG DEPLOYS, PLASTIC SHRAPNEL WILL GO AIRBORNE POSSIBLY HITTING PASSENGERS.

DASH IS CRACKING ON DRIVER'S SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG TOP LEFT CORNER.
DASHBOARD CRACKS FROM AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS CRACK IS NOT FROM NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, BY THE NATURE OF THE CRACK YOU CAN TELL THAT THIS IS SOME KIND OF MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
THE DASHBOARD IN OUR 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI CRACKED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE AUDIO/NAVIGATION CONSOLE. IT NOW VIBRATES AND MOVES DURING NORMAL DRIVING, PARTICULARLY ON THE HIGHWAY. WE HAVE NEVER PLACED OR MOUNTED ANYTHING ON THE DASHBOARD, AND THE TRUCK WAS NOT IN USE DURING THE APPROXIMATE TIME OF CRACKING, STRONGLY SUGGESTING THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING FOR NO REASON. THERE IS A CRACK WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS INSTALLED. I'M CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, ITEMS LIKE THE SPEAKER IN THE DASH BOARD WILL BECOME PROJECTILES. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THEN POTENTIALLY SHARDS OF BROKEN PLASTIC WILL ALSO BE FLYING THROUGH THE CABIN.
I FIRST NOTICED A CRACK ON THE DASH IN FRONT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. SINCE NOTICING THE FIRST CRACK, OTHER CRACKS HAVE DEVELOPED.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE CRACK IN THE PASSENGER SIDE GOES RIGHT TO WHERE THE AIRBAG IS.
2 CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. ONE CRACK IS LEADING TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG - CAUSING A SAFETY RISK.
MY DASHBOARD CRACKED TWICE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. BOTH TIMES OCCURRED IN THE 50, 000 MILE RANGE.THE DEALERSHIP FIXED IT TWICE. IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT THEY GAVE A MINOR PRICE BREAK. NOW THAT I AM READING ONLINE THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. THEY SHOULD LOOK INTO IT.
DASH CRACKING ON MY GMC YUKON DENALI. I HAVE 3 CRACKS IN MY DASH. ONE TO THE LEFT OF MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT IS ABOUT 10" LONG. I ALSO HAVE 2 CRACKS ON THE LEST SIDE OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE 2 CRACKS ON THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MIGHT SEND THIS BROKEN DASH PIECE FLYING LIKE A MISSILE SHOULD THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOY. I TOOK MY DENALI INTO THE DEALER ON 1-2016. AT THIS TIME THEY OFFERED ME A CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO HELP ME PAY FOR A NEW DASH. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS ONLY ONE CRACK ABOUT AN INCH LONG ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I DIDN'T FEEL A REPLACEMENT WAS WARRANTED AT THAT TIME. NOW WITH 3 CRACKS I WOULD LIKE THE DASH REPLACED. I CONTACTED GMC ABOUT THIS IN 2-2017 AND NOW THEY DON'T EVEN OFFER THE CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRAKED IN 2 PLACES. IT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED AND CRACKED AGAIN. THE CRACK AT THE AIRBAG IS CAUSING THE THE AIRBAG TO EXTEND OUT, ALMOST POPPING OUT. THE OTHER CRACK IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD MAKES A LOUD OBNOXIOUS SOUND WHEN DRIVING. IT CAN BE SEEN MOVING UP AND DOWN AT THE CRACK. I PURCHASED A GMC YUKON BECAUSE THE QUALITY IS WIDELY KNOWN. THIS ISSUE IS RIDICULOUS! THE GMC DEALER SHIP DOES NOT WANT TO HELP OUT WITH FIXING THIS ISSUE.
2011 YUKON XL (GARAGED IT'S ENTIRE LIFE AND WELL CARED FOR) HAD CRACK IN DASH APPEAR IN JAN 2016 WHICH QUICKLY SPREAD FROM BACK TO FRONT CAUSING THE DASH TO BECOME TWO PIECES. DEALER ONLY OFFERED TO "DISCOUNT" A REPAIR SINCE OUT OF WARRANTY.
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE DASH NEXT TO THE RIGHT SIDE AIR BAG. I AM CONCERNED IT COULD CONTINUE GROWING AND CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED AT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AREA AND AT THE DRIVER SIDE VENT DEFROSTING SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DASHBOARD WAS NOT REPLACED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
DASH SEVERELY CRACKING. HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENTS IT JUST STARTED ON IT'S OWN AND IS GRADUALLY GETTING WORSE. I NOTICE IT MORE AND MORE EVERY TIME I GET IN MY TRUCK. THE DASHBOARD HAS A LONG HORIZONTAL CRACK ACROSS THE MIDDLE. IF THE AIRBAG WAS DEPLOY, IT WOULD SEND SHARP SHARDS SPEEDING ACROSS THE INTERIOR OF THE CABIN. NOTE: I HAD TO FILL IN A DATE BELOW ABOUT WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED -- I'M NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DATE. AS SUCH, I FILLED IN 1/1/16). THE ACTUAL DATE WAS A FEW WEEKS OR DAYS BEFORE I WENT TO CARL BLACK DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE.
MULTIPLE CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD. FIRST, BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND THEN ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, ABOVE THE GAUGE CLUSTER.
WHILE PARKED, A FULL-WIDTH CRACK FORMED IN THE AN APPROXIMATELY 1-INCH-WIDE SECTION OF THE DASHBOARD, IMMEDIATELY FORWARD OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. I AM CONCERNED THAT, IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, THIS COMPROMISE IN DASHBOARD INTEGRITY WILL CREATE PROJECTILES WITHIN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A LARGE CRACK AND A HAIRLINE CRACK WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS LOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS CRACKED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET. THERE LOOKS TO BE A HAIR LINE CRACK AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE CONCERN IS WHEN AIR BAG GOES OFF DOES THIS THROW SHARDS OF PLASTIC INTO THE AIR? THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
MY DASHBORD IS CRACKING. GETTING WORSE. GMC NEEDS TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. I2 PEOPLE THAT I WORK WITH ALSO HAVE GM TRUCKS/SUV AND THEY ARE ALSO CRACKING IN THE SAME AREA. MAKE THESE COMPANIES STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE PLEASE.
CRACK ON TOP OF DASH BY PASS. AIR BAG
DASH CRACKING. CRACKS INITIATED FROM LOOSE SPEAKER MOUNT LOAD. CRACKED FIRST AT THE PS AIRBAG, THEN AT THE DS GAUGE CLUSTER.
THE DASH IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND AROUND THE AIR BAG.
CRACKED DASH BY THE PASSAGE SIDE AIRBAG AND IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD. IT POSES A THREAT OF FLYING DEBRIS IN THE EVENT THAT THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED. MY VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN KEPT IN A GARAGE AND HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT ANYMORE THE 5-6 HOURS A DAY NO MORE THAN 4 DAYS A WEEK. I NOTICED THE CRACK AROUND NOVEMBER 2015 AND I SPOKE WITH A GMC SERVICE REP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE DASH BECAUSE IT'S A COMMON ISSUE IN THE SUV'S. HE INFORMED ME THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY $1200 TO GET IT REPLACED AND THAT HE COULD NOT INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINT ABOUT AN ELECTRIC SPARK SOUND IN MY DASH UNDER THE SPEAKER BECAUSE IF HE DID THAT I MIGHT AS WELL REPLACE THE DASH BECAUSE THE LABOR CHARGE WOULD BE THE SAME. I PAID TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS VEHICLE IN AN ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY AS WE TRAVEL UP AND DOWN THE HIGHWAY FOR IT TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED OR MY SPEAKER SPARK INTO A FIRE. TOO MUCH MONEY!

"TAKATA RECALL" CRACKS ON THE FRONT DASHBOARD ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT. COULD CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES WHEN AIRBAGS DEPLOY.
THE NHTSA WEBSITE SHOWS THAT FOR OUR VIN CAMPAIGN 14V827000 CALLS FOR ITS IGNITION SWITCH TO BE INSPECTED AND POSSIBLY REPLACED. PITRE GMC IN ALBUQUERQUE SAYS THAT THEIR INTERNAL LIST (VIS?) DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS RECALL, SO THEY WILL NOT DO THE INSPECTION. I HAVE HAD NO SYMPTOMS OF A PROBLEM. I JUST WANT TO PREVENT A POSSIBLE FUTURE SAFETY ISSUE. IS THE NHTSA DATABASE OR THE GM DATABASE CORRECT? WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THE ONE THAT IS WRONG? I NOTICED THE DISCREPENCY ON 10/29/15.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD FRACTURES OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG HOUSING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD HAD FRACTURES AND SEPARATED NEAR THE DEFROSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,500.
BOTH THE DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES SEPARATED FROM THE DOOR PANEL, COMPROMISING THE PROTECTION OF THE VEHICLE AND THE ABILITY TO ENTER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE PROPERLY.
DASH IS CRACKED AT AIR BAG AND ABOVE SPEEDOMETER. CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY OF PASSENGERS AND DECLINE IN VALUE OF VEHICLE
I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF POST ABOUT THE DASH CRACKING. MY DASH STARTED WITH A SMALL CRACK AT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND HAS SINCE CAUSED A LARGER CRACK CLOSER TO THE DRIVER. THE CRACK ALLOWS THE DASH TO LIBERATE CAUSING IT TO CRACK FURTHER. IT IS RIDICULOUS HOW MANY PROBLEMS ARE OUT THERE WITH NO RECALL. DEALERS CONTINUE TO TELL ME THAT IT IS UP TO GENERAL MOTORS THEIR HANDS ARE TIED. MAY POSSIBLY BE THE LAST GM PRODUCT I WILL OWN. IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE WHAT IS? IF MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS, PLASTIC SHRAPNEL WILL FILL THE CAB.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE IN MULTIPLE PLACES ON TOP OF AND ALONG SIDE OF THE INNER AIRBAGS AND UNDER A COLLISION THESE PIECES OF THE DASH COULD AND IN MY OPINION AND THE OPINION OF GM BODY REPAIRMAN WILL VERY LIKELY BECOME A FLYING PROJECTILE CAUSING POSSIBLE INJURY OR DEATH TO OCCUPANTS. I AM REQUESTING IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF THIS UNSAFE SITUATION BEFORE TURNING IT OVER TO COUNCIL FOR RECOVERY. ALSO BE ADVISED THAT ALL PRECAUTIONS WERE TAKEN TO PROTECT THE DASHBOARD WITH USE OF WINDSHIELD SUN DEFLECTORS/SHADES.

THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I'M A 2011GMC YUKON OWNER THAT HAS A CRACKED DASH THAT IN ONLY A MATTER OF TIME IS GOING TO AFFECT THE AIR BAG. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO GMC, THEY TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM.
MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASH, INCLUDING ONE BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG; TRUCK HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT FOR ENTIRE LIFE, SO IT IS NOT FROM SUN DAMAGE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE ONLINE, AND EVERY TIME I RIDE IN A LYFT OR UBER YUKON OR TAHOE THAT IS A 2007-2014 MODEL, I SEE THE SAME CRACKS - THIS ISSUE IS PROLIFIC.
THE DASH COVER IS CRACKING AND IS BROKEN. THIS IS HAPPENING CLOSE TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I'M JUST WAITING FOR THE AIRBAG TO EXPLODE WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IS SO UNSAFE!! MY KIDS ARE IN DANGER.

THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THERE WAS A HUGE CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND THE DRIVER SIDE BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
CRACKING OF THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AND THE COMMON OCCURRENCE OF CRACKS AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IN THE GM FULL-SIZE TRUCKS AND SUVS CAUSES CONCERN OF POTENTIAL SHRAPNEL WITHIN THE PASSENGER CABIN IN THE EVENT OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
