Paint is peeling on the roof along the sides in the grooves and in the groove between the back window and the body. This appears to be the exact same paint issue that was reported on the 2018 Honda Accord models made at this plant. I just noticed this today (9/19/25) but given the rust, this has probably been a problem for longer.
While traveling at approximately 55 mph yesterday, in daylight, with no other cars in front, back, or to the side of our car, it radically braked on its own. The collision mitigation system warning light has frequently flashed on the dashboard since we bought the car new in 2019 but never did it apply the brakes on its own. Dealerships over the years have told us "this just happens", and offered no fix for the false positive alerts. This is a dangerous situation which could result in an accident or even death of occupants if not resolved by Honda. I spoke with several dealerships since the phantom braking event and they tell me they hear this complaint often. Being an intermittent situation, it is extremely difficult to diagnose and resolve. Something needs to be done.
Component or System Failed: The head gasket appears to have failed, leading to coolant leaking into cylinder 4. This has been confirmed by two separate service centers. The vehicle is currently available for inspection if needed. Safety Risk: The failure caused engine misfires and dashboard warning lights to activate while driving, which could have led to a sudden loss of power or control. I had to pull over and restart the vehicle to regain drivability, which put my safety and that of others at risk. Reproduced or Confirmed by a Dealer or Service Center: Yes. The issue was first diagnosed by Honda of Sumner, who initially suspected a compression issue. Their master mechanic later confirmed it was likely a head gasket failure. A second opinion from Greg’s Japanese Auto confirmed the diagnosis and provided photos showing coolant in the cylinder. Inspected by Manufacturer or Others: Yes. The vehicle was inspected by Honda of Sumner and Greg’s Japanese Auto. No inspection has been done by police or insurance representatives. Warning Lamps or Symptoms Before Failure: Yes. After a recent service (which included an AC repair, fuel pump recall, and oil change), I experienced two misfires in cylinder 4 within 24 hours. All dashboard warning lights came on during one of the incidents. These symptoms began four days after the service. Additional Context: I was quoted $8,100 for the head gasket repair by Honda. I believe this issue could have been detected earlier during the diagnostic service. I’ve since learned of a class action lawsuit involving this exact issue in my vehicle’s generation, which makes me concerned this is a known defect.
It appears the head gasket failed due to an anomaly on the engine block between cylinders. We were driving down the road when the engine lost power and went into limp mode ( dealer term). The problem of the head gasket was confirmed by the dealer, but the anomaly on the short block has not been explained. The engine block was inspected by the service tech, service manager and a rep from Honda. No explanation given. No warning lights came on until immediately after the engine lost power. The engine block is available for inspection at the dealership.
I was driving on a city street at about 30mph. There was no one in front of me or behind me. Nothing in the road. The orange rectangular brake light came on for no reason, kept flashing and it felt as if the brakes were automatically being pumped, slowing the car down to a compete stop. In addition, I had no control of the steering. It was very dangerous situation which could have resulted in accident or injury.
Active Noise Cancellation unit not functioning properly. At 52 MPH till passing 56 MPH the audio system creates a loud (gradual buildup) whirring noise followed by a boom before it stops. It can be very distractive and dangerous in the right conditions, as it can be misinterpreted as traffic next to or approaching the vehicle causing a short notice distraction while at a high speed. It is a reoccurring incident every time the vehicle is driven and only getting worse. Honda is aware of the issue since there is a service bulletin 921-053) released in June 2021 but has not notified any of its customers who drive an Accord. The model over several years has had this problem.
Forward collision warning stopped working after a system upgrade on my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I activate the forward support and immediately it turns off. This is a safety issue. The system assist in breaking in time to maintain car distance and avoid a collision. Contacted Honda. I was told to take it to service at my cost.
All of sudden, no incident, no accident, a lot of things were disabled such as Adaptive Cruise Control , Forward Collision Warning , Lane Departure Warning and more while I was out of town (long range highway travel). When I went to Honda dealership, they blamed a few things and fixed them (expensive), then they said that the front camera needed a calibration. It was expensive. After that aiming correction, everything works fine. The camera was NOT broken. It just needed recalibration, and it costed about a thousand dollars. I would say it was caused by the poor design, which is Honda's fault. I googled this issue and found a lot of Honda owners had same issued and charged 1K ~2K for it. I will report it separately, but my Honda Odyssey has the exactly same issue now. I have 2 Honda cars, and both of them have the same issue. I strongly suggest that Honda should recall their front camera and they should reimburse the expense we already paid for it.
Was driving on freeway my car wouldn’t go faster than 45 mph. Check engine light all of a sudden Came on. Cars almost hit me from behind because my car wouldn’t accelerate. Had to pull over at the exit. After pulling over and shutting down the car, I turned car back on and all warning lights came on. I was able to drive slowly to a Honda dealership which was about a mile away. Had to pay for a diagnosis and they discovered that the coolant expansion tank was completely. bubbling emerged from radiator after doing a coolant test. up. The head gasket is leaking and need to be replaced. Cylinder head needs resurfaced
I was driving on the freeway and my engine lost power and all the lights on my dashboard went haywire. I tried to get off the freeway but with the loss of power made it extremely difficult and dangerous. I thought I was going to get into an accident since my car slowed down so abruptly. I had to limp my way across traffic which was very scary. The car was jerking and shaking. I finally got to the side of the freeway and the car did not want to continue so I called for a tow truck and waited on the side of a busy highway. The tow truck brought my car to the Honda dealership which diagnosed the problem immediately as a blown head gasket. They said it was a known problem and the mechanic knew what to look for. They fixed the head gasket and I have my car back. My car only has 92k miles and I don’t think the head gasket should fail this early in the vehicles life. I properly maintain my engine with routine oil changes. There is no reason the engine should break down like this. I feel that there is a defect in Honda’s head gasket.
I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction with the engine head gasket on my 2019 Honda Accord EXL. Following my Honda consultant, I have experienced a engine head gasket malfunction where it has a head gasket crack. This led to leaking into the engine piston which will cost me $5000 to repair. There was no signs and symptoms that the incident was going to happen. I would also say I am a pretty conservative driver when commuting. The ongoing engine issues could potentially lead to serious safety concerns due to overheating, possible engine damage, and safety for others on the road. This problem has not been confirmed by the dealer and on many public forums people have had similar issues with this when there car is fairly new.
Dealership refuses to process recall for fuel pump associated with my vehicle. Paragon Honda 57-06 31st Ave, Woodside, NY 11377
Ever since I bought the 2019 Accord Hybrid new. There has always been a steering wheel tug or slight sticking. I complained to Ocean Honda (at the Time, no longer in business, now North Hollywood Honda). They said it was normal. Fighting the steering wheel on long drives didn't seem normal. I thought maybe it was lane asset issue. Turned it off and back on. Fixed the problem for a while but starting again. After Covid I started working from home. So less driving. Not enough long driving to get it to react. Now there is a recall on the newer model Honda Accords that sound the same as my older Accord. My hope is that owners of older Accords are also speaking up to be included in the new steering wheel recall. These older Accord could be dangerous too. ***I can't add the correct date below. Incident around June 2020, but more than just one***
Honda service center (1601 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034) is avoiding making a repair of recalled fuel pump. I took the car in on what they said was a slow day for a 3hr repair. They told me it would take 2+ days to repair and that if I scheduled in advance they could make sure to get it done in about 3 hours. I scheduled a week in advance with an appointment and came in and they used the same excuse again telling me that it would take them 2+ days. When I complained they came up with a second excuse that the repair can't be done on a mostly full tank of gas (which is not true, it's just harder for them to do it) and even if it was true, they've never once notified me during my prior interactions. The Honda dealership is clearly avoiding their obligation to make the repair and is putting my safety at risk.
On January 22, 2025, I was driving at highway speed and suddenly my car seemed to lag in power. It slowed from about 60mph to 40mph and pressing on the gas did not do anything. The Check Engine light began flashing. I felt like it would continue to slow down and it was rush hour. I managed to safely exit the freeway and parked the car. I turned it off, waited a moment, turned it back on. It seemed ok so I drove carefully using back streets to the local Honda dealership. They kept the car for 2 days and ran tests but nothing showed on their computer and they could not replicate the problem. They gave me the car back. I saw another recall today for other models of Honda that have this exact problem. My car has 41700 miles on it. The weather was cold but clear. This is the first time this has happened.

Mid October 2023, we driving on the freeway and the car started to slow down on its own. We could not accelerate to match the speed of cars around us or to get the speed limits in a 55 to 65 zone, making it dangerous for us and others to continue driving on the freeway at extremely slow/low speeds. We towed it the dealership, who said it was defective spark plugs. This car was only 4 years old with extremely low millage and the spark plugs should've last a lot longer. They changed the spark plugs under warranty. Late November 2024, we were getting off the freeway and the check engine light came on but there were no service codes. Everything was running normally except for the engine was making a loud noise. We parked at a shopping center and approximately 30 minutes later, restarted the car and all these messages and icons appeared for: Vehicle stability assistant system problem, Hill start assistant problem, ACC, Collision Mitigation breaking system problem, Road departure mitigation system problem, Emissions system problem, TPMS, Brake system problem, Electric power steering system problem. Towed it dealership and after an hour of diagnostics testing, they said it’s the spark plugs again! Just a little over a year and 2 out of 4 spark plugs are bad again. This is not right. We hardly drive this car and it’s only a little over a year since the spark plugs were replaced and a little over 5 years since we got the car brand new. Spark plugs are supposed to last 10 years or 100,000 miles and we’re not close to either. This time they said it's not covered under warranty and is over $800.
Engine light came on. First time this has happened. Took car immediately to Honda Dealer for inspection of engine light. Was informed that the car had a blown head gasket. Car only had 116000 miles. Car was taken to same dealer where purchased, and serviced constantly. Not once were we notified of any issue with the engine.

There is an issue going on in which the door lock actuators within the Door Latch Assembly are failing. This issue happened to my vehicle and through a Google search you can see that it's happening to several others. Because of this issue, the doors of the vehicle will not open via remote unlock, only via manual insertion of the key and physically unlocking the other doors. In a situation where you need to quickly enter your vehicle, this is very problematic. Additionally, if I choose to remote start the vehicle, as soon as I use the physical key to unlock the driver side door, the vehicle turns off essentially negating the remote start. I went to the dealership and used the diagnostic device to determine that these devices were failing electronically and I had to have both of my left side assemblies replaced at a high cost.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that recently while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Suddenly I get warnings of failure of adaptive cruise control, failure of braking, stearing and forward collision warning failure. It goes away if I drive my vehicle for few miles but then suddenly appears again. No one seems to know what is the issue. I tried to reset setting multiple times, checked system updates and checked battery etc, asked to check if there are any faulty codes but no one seem to know what is going on. It keeps happening every day

Component that failed was the head gasket. Willing to have vehicle inspected. However this incident occurred roughly 7 months ago at 125k miles. Safety was put at risk due to engine overheating which could've caused a fire. I haven't asked the dealer if they've seen it before however this issue is easy to find on forums for this vehicle. The vehicle was only inspected by the dealer who repaired it, I was told by them they had to send off some part of my engine to honda to ensure it wasn't warped before repairing. The ridiculous part was the only warning I received in my car was engine temp high if you ask me such a major failure should cause the check engine light to come one. I had no other warnings than the temp warning. My vehicle doesn't even have a Guage to display the engine temp. To ensure the listed vin shows the correct model I drive a 2019 honda accord hybrid ex with 133,500 miles.

There is recall on my 2019 Honda Hybrid and according to dealership they have no parts available for the fix and they said they can't do anything about it.
The head gasket on the engine has blown at only 94,000 miles. Car overheated on the side of the freeway and I took it to the dealership. Dealer confirmed that the head gasket was leaking. Check engine light and a temp warning came on as the car overheated.
Blown head gasket repaired after unknown coolant loss. Eventually intermittent warnings to pull over and slow down which resolved within seconds. Continued until it was determined the gasket had failed. Numerous instances of hybrid engines failing in this manner. Repaired by independent shop.
We received a notice on 2/16/24 for the fuel pump impeller recall, and we called the dealership and they said we have to wait until early Fall to call them back. We called back many times and have continually been told to call back. It's now 2/3 way through fall and our car still has not been fixed and we're still being told to wait and call back. On your website it states to file a complaint online if the manufacturer is unable to remedy this in a “timely manner” and this is the only form we could find to submit a complaint. It’s been almost a year since the recall started on December 18, 2023 and almost 9 months since we got the notice in the mail, and our car is still not fixed.
Head Gasket developed holes at 70,000 miles despite all recommended maintenance completed. This can cause serious engine damage which can lead to multiple safety issues
I have was called steering sticking in my steering wheel when I’m driving and it stuck straight and I have to turn it a little bit. I have to kinda yank it just a tad bit because the steering is sticking is an issue with other Hondas. I’m having it also.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel system and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred two days later. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cylinder head was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,451.
I HAVE RECEIVED ONE LETTER I HAVE RECALL. I WENT TWO DIFFRENT TIME TO DEALER FOR MAKING APPOINTMENT TO CHANGE MY PART WHAT I HAVE RECALLED. BUT THEY ARE SAYING WE DON'T HAVE PART WE WILL CALL YOU. IT'S BEEN LIKE LAST DECEMBER 23. NO ONE IS GIVING ME APPROPIAT ANSWER.
Car makes a highly audible hum resonance at 45-55 mph. This sounds like a very load wheel bearing issue but it apparently related to auto noise reduction system putting the sound through the speakers. This is a known Honda issue they need to fix, shouldn't happen on a nearly new car.
On multiple occasion my vehicle will brake unexpectedly with no object in the road or surrounding my car. It has done it at freeway speeds as well as driving through parking lots. It often will sense construction repairs on the road and think I am departing the lane again slamming on the brakes (on the freeway) I have luckily avoided accidents but have had numerous close calls.
07/28/2023 - Car showed many brake system errors: electric parking brake, vehicle stability, adaptive cruise control, etc. Took to Heritage Honda, Bel Air, MD, and got error code diagnosis of PI20-00, brake system/pedal simulator failure. Heritage "reflashed" pedal simulator and cleared code. Told OK to drive but if brake system errors showed up again, pull over to side of road and have car towed. Drove 20+ miles home. 07/29/2023 - Car again showed brake system errors as on 07/28. Husband and I drove car around our development and there were no brakes, even after husband pumping and pushing down on brake pedal very hard. 07/31/2023 - Flat bed towed car to Martin Honda, Newark, DE and got same error code. Paid to replace brake pedal simulator, PN 01469-TWA-A56. Issue is that brake system did not fail safely, because failure of pedal simulator left me with no brakes. Requested Honda pay entire Martin Honda invoice but Honda paid $1400 of repair. Have since requested that Honda pay remaining $1000 that I paid, plus diagnostic fee for Heritage Honda, and towing charge.
The malfunctioning component is the electronic door lock system of my 2019 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid, specifically the driver's side door. This problem persists and is available for inspection. The failure of this system posed a safety risk as it prevents secure access and egress from the vehicle. I was unable to unlock my vehicle using the electronic key fob or the interior lock/unlock button, which could pose a problem in emergency situations where quick exit from the vehicle is required. The problem has been reproduced over a period of 6-8 weeks, with the issue becoming consistent and isolated to the driver's side door. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center yet, nor has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. My car has recently aged out of warranty and given the experiences of others online, I don't have the money to hand over to the dealer for diagnostic fees with zero resolution. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the issue's occurrence. It started sporadically, sometimes affecting different doors, but in recent weeks, it has been a consistent problem with the driver's door. This problem isn't exclusive to my vehicle. I've read online forums where others, even with different models of Honda Accords, have encountered similar issues, suggesting this could be a common issue across certain models. One person described a similar, erratic door lock behavior where the failure would switch from door to door. It was speculated that the issue could be either software-related or potentially a faulty relay that couldn't supply power to all the actuators simultaneously. Given these circumstances, I think it's crucial to investigate this matter further, as it poses both a security and safety risk for Honda Accord users.
On 6/14/22 and 3/29/23, my 2019 Honda Accord EX Hybrid had engine misfirings which lead to total loss of power on Rt 15 in NY and CT: 6/14/22: Upon entering highway, car bucked during acceleration and lost all propulsion coasting to a stop. Check again light was on and blinking. After reseating gas cap car driven directly to dealer for diagnostic. Car computer did NOT retain any error codes even though engine light was blinking. Dealer did not do any repairs. 3/29/23: Near end of 30 minutes in stop and go traffic, car began to hesitate when inching forward. When accelerating to travel speed, car bucked during acceleration and lost all propulsion coasting to a stop. Check again light was on and blinking. After reseating gas cap car driven directly to dealer for diagnostic. Car computer did NOT retain any error codes even though engine light was blinking. Dealer did not do any repairs. If check engine light indicates get service soon and a blinking light means get it immediately, then there appears to be an issue with Honda's computer diagnostic for not retaining codes. Also the propulsion system for failing which could possibly create safety issues for drivers of this vehicle. I traded the vehicle in for safety purposes and was forced to purchase a new vehicle much earlier than expected.
Noticed there is already an investigation open. My car is literally afraid of shadows and other objects that just aren't there. It will slam on the brakes as it detects that there is an impending crash despite any cars near me. It has almost caused 3 accidents with the cars behind me. I took it to my local honda dealership and they told me nothing was wrong with my car and everything was fine.
Hello, I am writing to you about my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid. This vehicle make and model had over 600,000 safety recalls for the Denso fuel pump. When I Input the vehicle on Honda for recall info, nothing shows up. I took it to a local Honda dealer but they did not check the fuel pump instead told me it was other issues. I was driving my vehicle on the freeway after my first Honda visit and my vehicle suddenly lost power and the check engine light started flashing ( I have videos of this if needed). There was a truck behind me and I almost got hit by the truck which was a significant issue to my safety. I also started to smell gas. These are all signs of a bad fuel pump. I understand that my vehicle does not pop up on the recall with the VIN number but being it the same make and model with similar symptoms, I would like to see what NHTSA can do to inform me of the recall as my vehicle possibly might have a bad fuel pump ( which should be covered under this recall).
I purchased a 2019 certified pre-owned Honda Accord Touring Hybrid in February, 2022. This was the second Honda Accord Touring Hybrid I've owned, so I was already very familiar with this vehicle. Over the next couple months, I started experiencing some odd things - the LKAS and Lane Departure systems weren't operating correctly consistently. For example, the steering wheel would start shaking and warning lights pop up on my dash, and the steering wheel is pulling to one direction thinking I'm veering into another lane when I'm not. This was concerning, but at the time the infotainment system was crashing regularly and that was more concerning. In addition, the Automatic Emergency Braking also seemed to be off, engaging at times when there wasn't a vehicle in front of me. In May, 2022 I was driving on the highway with the Adaptive Cruise Control set to 70mph (the posted speed limit). There were no other cars on the highway in my line of sight, when without warning, the Automatic Emergency Braking system engaged and the car slammed on the brakes, coming to nearly a complete stop. Alarms, lights and brakes all fully engaged in a sudden and unexpected manner, absolutely putting my life at risk. I was so shaken up by this experience that I had to pull over and compose myself before continuing on to my destination. I took the vehicle in to my local Honda dealership and told them of all the issues. To date, the only issue fixed is the Infotainment System. I've taken my vehicle in to Honda multiple times, and although trouble-shooting and 'fixes' have been done, within a couple of weeks from the 'fix', the car starts behaving like this again. Honda repeatedly says they can't find a problem or they've 'fixed' the problem. Clearly there is a problem and none of the 'fixes' have worked. I don't feel safe driving the car, but cannot afford to replace it.
I was driving on a local urban street, probably 20 mph, when car suddenly braked hard for no reason. My foot was not on the brake at the time, and there was not a car or potential collision in front of me to trigger this. I reported the problem to the dealer, and they performed a software update. They weren't able to tell me if it was a general update or one specific to this problem.
This vehicle is rated at a combined rating of 47 mpg. Since I acquired the vehicle I do not get more than 28 mph and this is driving on highway on 200 mile trips.
When driving on the Interstate Highway with the adaptive cruise control, on rare and unpredictable time, the car will suddenly flash the brake warning and brake and/or rapidly slow down. Pressing the accelerator will override the issue. However, it is not reproducible. It can occur any time of day or night.
Collision mitigation braking system error reported on the car it says to take to the dealer for service also says that adaptive cruise could be affected also. I read that many other owners are reporting this issue.
Multiple time the car will apply the emergency braking system when there are no cars in front of me. Mainly it happens on a multi-lane road and I am overtaking the car to the right of me, especially if I am on a curve to the left. The car will suddenly apply the brakes which can aid to the loss of control of the car. If the road were icy, it would almost certainly cause a loss of control and an accident. It has happened on a straight stretch of road, but it is more rare. Initially this was a rare occasion, however it has increased in frequency as the car ages. Now that the warrantee has expired I have not taken it in to have it checked, but I feel I am going to need to do it. There were no warning signs, lamps, or messages other than the brakes being applied and the emergency braking light coming on. When I saw there were other occurrences of this issue, I had to file this complaint. I believe this needs to be a recall issue before more serious injuries or fatalities occur. Below it asked when it happened, how many miles on the car, and the answer is multiple times at multiple speed and first started at around 20,000 miles. Again it has gotten worse over time. the car currently has about 46,000 miles
There is a humming noise that randomly Started on my brand new Honda Accord. A lot of individuals are having the same issue online and Honda refuses to consider it their problem. It has something to do with the Either noise canceling microphone not being glued on or their Bluetooth microphone. This is ridiculous that my vehicle which is brand new is starting to have issues and Honda does not take ownership of their issue when obviously it isn’t due to anything other than part being defective…
