THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKS UP HOLDING THE PASSENGER TIGHTLY AGAINST THE SEAT AND CAN ONLY BE RELEASED IF THE SEAT BELT IS COMPLETELY RETRACTED. THIS CAN BE DONE MANUALLY WITHOUT THE CAR DRIVING. I HAVE CONTACTED OUR DEALER AND IT SAYS ALL IS WELL.LOOKING AT YOUR DATABASE INDICATES HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *AK

INTERNAL PIECES OF THE HEATER FAN ARE FALLING OFF, GOING INTO THE FAN ITSELF, CAUSING THE FAN TO BE INOPERATIVE. PROBLEM COULD CREATE A FIRE HAZARD DUE TO THE MATERIAL GOING INTO THE FAN. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

CALLED HONDA RE: CAMPAIGN #99I002000 & WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS AN ERROR AND DOES NOT APPLY TO THE ACCORD BUT ONLY TO THE 96 CIVIC. MY ACCORD'S ACCELERATOR SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OF "THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FEELS ROUGH OR NOTCHY WHEN YOU PRESS IT" AND "AND "ARE REQUIRED TO MOVE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO MAKE SLIGHT SPEED ADJUSTMENTS". YOU CAN REALLY FEEL THIS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND THE CAR EITHER ACCELERATES TOO SLOW AND/OR WHEN ADJUSTING FOR MORE ACCELERATION IT THEN ACCELERATES TOO FAST AND NOT SMOOTHLY. FIND THAT I HAVE TO REALLY FOCUS MY ATTENTION ON THE USE OF THE ACCELERATOR FOR FEAR THE CAR WILL ADVANCE TOO QUICKLY ON ICE AND/OR RUN INTO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. OIL SHIELD ON THE BALANCE SHAFT HAS POPPED OUT, CAUSING THE OIL TO LEAK ONT THE GROUND. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK

DRAINAGE COMING FROM AIR CONDITIONER LEAKAGE. THE BRAKES MAKE A LOUD CLICKING NOISE (SIMILAR TO THE SOUND HEARD WHEN CARS RUNNING OVER THE SEWER MANHOLE COVER) DURING THE FIRST BRAKE WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR A WHILE (2-3 HOURS) OR AFTER THE GEAR HAS BEEN SHIFTED TO REVERSE AND BACK TO DRIVE. DEALER CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM.

WITH IN 12,000 MILES OF PURCHASE 2 OF 4 BUBBLED ON SIDEWALLS AND WENT FLAT, BOTH HAD TO BE REPLACED.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT ALWAYS GOES ON WHEN WE DRIVE THE CAR, WHICH MEANS THE SYSTEM HAS A PROBLEM AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM THE SRS IF THERE WERE A CRASH. THE MANUFACTURERTOLD OWNERS TO HAVE THE SRS CHECKED AFTER 10 YEARS OLD OF THE CAR. MY CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS ONLY 42000 MILES ON IT. I GUESS THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FAILURE.*AK

WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH, OWNER WENT TO REACH FOR THE RADIO AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT GEAR SHIFT. LEVER MOVED AND WENT INTO NEUTRAL. MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THIS DESIGN FEATURE IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
CONCERNING THE IGINITION SWITCH RECALL ON HONDA VEHICLES - WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS BE MADE TO PAY ALMOST ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM REWIRED FOR THE VEHICLE??? THE RECALL WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE CONSUMER, AND HONDA DEALERSHIPS ARE CHARGING EXORBITANT PRICES TO HAVE THE ALARM SYSTEM REWIRED. EVEN IF THE ALARM IS NOT A HONDA PART, THE 1997 MODEL DID NOT COME WITH AN ALARM, SO OBVIOUSLY ONE HAD TO BE BOUGHT, AND IF THE HONDA HAS TO REMOVE THE WIRES BECAUSE OF THEIR RECALL, THEN THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON TO HAVE TO PAY SUCH HIGH FEES TO HAVE THOSE WIRES REPLACED.*AK
