Why you are driving the RPMs drop down to zero and the car just shuts off and you could be sitting at a light it does the same thing our traffic it is just shut off I Googled about the car and it said it was the ignition switch and then when I Googled that it said it was a recall on my car I'm just trying to see what's going on
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front of the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact's father inspected the vehicle and discovered that the sub-frame was severely corroded. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to an A/C condensation leak onto the sub-frame, causing the sub-frame to corrode. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the steering wheel was vibrating abnormally. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the alignment checked by an independent mechanic who determined that the passenger’s side subframe was extremely rusted, causing the vehicle to be out of alignment. The mechanic also advised the contact that the A/C drain tube had drained over the subframe on the passenger side and might have been a contributing factor to the extreme rusting of the subframe. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The subframe is rotting out and I’m feeling unsafe driving it

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was high resistance in the front driver's side air bag due to the air bag connector failure. The dealer diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air bag was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V026000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.
The SRS light indicator is lit showing airbag malfunction unbreaks there is a 10 or clip where the brake pad is located that is broken and leaves the break end break mode leaving my brake lights on after engine shut off
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at 40 mph, the contact stated the vehicle in front suddenly braked, which caused the contact to depress on their brake pedal however the vehicle began to spin out of control and hit another vehicle in the next lane on the front passenger side door by the contacts front bumper. The contact vehicle did not sustain any damage, however, the vehicle they hit the front passenger side tire came off of that vehicle. There was no one was injured. No medical treatment was needed. No police report was filed. The contact was concerned that the cause of their vehicle spinning out of control was due to the brakes system. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 186,000.
MY WIFE HAD PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN THE 1999 MODEL YEAR AND I REALIZE HONDA IS PROBABLY EXPECTING THESE CARS TO BE PAST THEIR USEFUL LIFE. UNFORTUNATELY UNAWARE CONSUMERS AND YOUNG ADULTS WILL BUY THESE EXPECTING TO PILE MILES ON THESE WHICH HONDA IS KNOWN FOR. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SUBFRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. I PERSONALLY WATCHED THIS PARTICULAR PART OF THE CAR RAPIDLY RUST AND DETERIORATE EVEN AFTER COATING IT WITH SOME RUST INHIBITORS. THE PROBLEM AS I UNDERSTAND IT IS THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS DRIPPING CONDENSATION ON THE FRAME CAUSING THE STRUCTURE TO ROT. I REALIZED IT WAS ALMOST ROTTED THROUGH WHEN I WAS PUTTING ON A NEW PASSENGER SIDE TIRE ON, SO NOT WANTING TO PUT MONEY IN THAT KIND OF REPAIR, I GUESS MY CAR IS DONE. MY POINT IS BUYER BE WARE, HONDA HAD TO KNOW AND I STILL SEE THESE 1999 TO 2002 MODELS RUNNING AROUND.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE LEFT TURN LANE WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. I WENT AND DIDNT REALIZE THE FAR RIGHT LANE WAS FOR PARKING ONLY ON A 1 WAY STREET LEFT HEADED EAST IT WAS A 1 WAY WITH 2 LANES MOVING FORWARD A 1 LANE NEXT TO THE CURB WHERE VEHICLES PARK IN FRONT OF THERE RESIDENTS. I SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF THE PARKED WHITE CHEVY TRUCK. MY VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP FORCING MY BODY FORWARD TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD. MY SEATBELT ONLY RESTRAINED MY BODY SO FAR SO I USED MY FOOT TO APPLY THE BRAKE. MY CARS PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID DEPLOY BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT. MY VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE. I THEN LATER HAD A FRIEND DRIVE ME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I DIDNT WANT TO GO BY AMBULANCE DUE TO PANDEMIC IN PLACE. ABOUT 2 TO 3 WEEKS LATER I RECIEVED THE RECALL LETTER IN MY MAILBOX. SINCE THE ACCIDENT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO WORK OR EVEN DAILY FUNCTIONS. I HAVE A CRUSHED HEEL AND UNABLE TO WALK. SEVER PAIN AND SWELLING. MY LIFE HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED.
CAR INTERMITTENTLY STALLS. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE INCOMING TRAFFIC. WE TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND DIAGNOSED IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL PORTION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH. I REMEMBERED THEY HAVE A RECALL TO REPLACE THE SWITCH. IT PROBABLY GOT REPLACED BUT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. IS IT TIME FOR ANOTHER RECALL? HONDA DID NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
WHILE I AM DRIVING MY CAR SHUTS OFF. THE RADIO AND LIGHTS STAYS ON BUT EVERYTHING ON DASH IS OFF, MILAGE AND SPEED. I HAVE HAD EVERYTHING TESTED BUT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. IN JAN 2020 I HAD THIS RECALL ISSUE ADDRESSED AT THE DEALER OR AT LEAST I THOUGHT I DID. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I AM DOING WHEN CAR SHUTS OFF. AT STOP LIGHT, TURNING THE CORNER, ON FREEWAY... AFTER CAR SHUTS OFF, I PUT CAR IN PARK AND TRY TO RESTART. 90% OF THE TIME CAR WONT RESTART. PUMPING GAS PEDAL DOESN'T HELP. ACTUALLY SOMETIMES IT STARTS AND THEN JUST SHUTS OFF AGAIN OR STARTING THE CAR DOESN'T SEEM COMPLETED, MAYBE BECAUSE MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL, CAR RAVES UP BUT DROPS RIGHT DOWN/OFF. I HAVE BEEN TAPPING THE BATTERY TERMINALS WITH RUBBER HANDLE OF SCREWDRIVER AND THAT SEEMS TO ALLOW MY CAR TO START. SOMETIMES I DRIVE 200 MILES AND IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. IT HAPPENS ONCE IN 90 DAYS OR TWICE IN ONE WEEK OR TWICE IN ONE DAY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THREE OR FOUR YEARS. IT IS JUST HAPPENING MORE OFTEN THIS PAST YEAR. ALSO, THE RECALLED AIRBAG IS TAKING TOO LONG. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN AIRBAG WAITING FOR ME SEEING HOW HONDA KNEW IT WAS RECALLED AND I WAS STILL DRIVING THE CAR. MY TEENAGE SON SITS IN PASSENGER SEAT AND NOW THAT I KNOW OF THE RECALL I FEAR FOR HIS LIFE WHILE I DRIVE. COVID-19 IS NO EXCUSE. EIGHT MONTHS WAITING SO FAR.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 1999 HONDA ACCORD LX. I RECENTLY BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC FOR MY ANNUAL INSPECTION. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FRONT SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE IS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE PASSENGER-SIDE, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE POSITION OF THE AIR CONDITIONING DRAINAGE HOSE, WHICH DRAINS DIRECTLY ONTO THE SUBFRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. FURTHER, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AMONGST 1998-2002 HONDA ACCORD VEHICLES. THIS ISSUE, WHICH RESULTS FROM A DESIGN FLAW, POSES A SERIOUS THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF ANY OCCUPANTS OF HONDA ACCORDS FROM THESE YEARS.

RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FOR FAULTY AIR BAG INFLATOR. CALLED OCEAN HONDA IN SOQUEL, CA DEALER TO SCHEDULE SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART, THEY CAN NOT TELL ME WHEN THEY WILL EVER GET THE PART AND WILL NOT CHECK WITH MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD TO KEEP DRIVING THE CAR, NO PROBLEM, YET HISTORY SHOWS THAT AT LEAST 14 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THIS FAULTY PART. WHAT AM I TO DO?

WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT FOR A MINUTE OR MORE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRANS IN DRIVE WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE , THEN UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE AND NO PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL THE AUTO SURGED FORWARD AT A RAPID SPEED.CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL AND A REAR END COLLISION WITH THE AUTO IN FRONT OF ME. I RESEARCHED THIS ANOMALY ON LINE AND FOUND A LIST OF TESTIMONY WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. HONDA DID A DIAGNOSIS OF THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND NO DEFECTS. I'M SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS CAR.

AC DRAIN HOLE IS ABOVE THE FRAME OVER TIME IT CAUSED RUST AND NOW IT AND CRACKED, AND ALMOST HAS BROKEN COMPLETELY.
FRAME HAS RUSTED DUE TO AC DRAIN HOLE FROM THE EVAPORATOR. DUE TO WATER DRIPPING ON THE FRAME, FRAME HAS A BREAK CAUSING IT TO HIT THE BODY EVERYTIME YOU HIT A BUMP AND THE SWAY BAR IS CONNECTED TO THE PART OF THE FRAME THAT HAS BROKE.
1999 HONDA ACCORD LX SUB-FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS BEING RUSTED OUT, BETWEEN THE ANTI-SWAY BAR MOUNT AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM TO SUB-FRAME BUSHING. IN CONTRAST, THE SAME AREA ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS IN GREAT SHAPE. THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE AC CONDENSATION DRAIN LINE DIRECTS WATER TO THIS SUB-FRAME SECTION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT IS MAINLY A DESIGN FLAW THAT ONLY SHOWS UP OVER TIME. MECHANICS DEEM IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND COULD CAUSE A FATAL CRASH WHEN RUSTED OUT. HOWEVER, THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SUB-FRAME COULD COST UP TO SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. HONDA SHOULD DO A RECALL TO HAVE IT REPLACED.

MY CAR WAS TOWED WHILE I WSS IN JAIL AND I CANT FIND IT
CAR REPEATEDLY SHUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AND MY HONDA LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING AND THE SPEEDOMETER HANDS STARTED FLICKERING. MY CAR THEN SHUT OFF AND MY WHEEL LOCKED. I TRIED TO RESTART AND IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. IT SOUNDED LIKE MY CAR WAS DRAGGING SOMETHING BUT I CHECKED UNDERNEATH AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. AFTER GASSING THE CAR WHILE STARTING, IT FINALLY STARTED BACK UP BUT YOU COULD TELL IT WAS BARELY BEING POWERED. IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS TRYING HARD TO POWER BUT IT WAS ONLY DOING IT SO MUCH. NOW I'M SITTING STILL ON SIDE THE HIGHWAY AND IT ALSO RUNS HOT SO I FILLED THE ANTIFREEZE AND NOW I'M LETTING T RUN, HOPING THAT THE ANTIFREEZE IS THE CAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH UNCOVERS SEVERAL NEWS STORIES AND OFFICIAL INQUIRIES TO HONDA FOR AN IDENTICAL PROBLEM. FURTHER NO DEALER OR MECHANICS UNTIL A FEW DAYS AGO REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO ME. AFTER SEEING THE EXTENSIVE RUST MISSING SECTIONS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO NOT SEE THE DAMAGE WHEN CHANGING THE OIL. EVEN I CAN TELL THERE IS A PROBLEM. MY CAR IS NOW INOPERABLE BECAUSE IT'S NOT SAFE. AT THE MOMENT IT ONLY HAS 110K MILES OR APPROX 6K A YEAR. I DON'T SEE A RECALL FOR THIS YET THE ISSUE SEEMS COMMON.
IGNITION SWITCH RECALL ON1999 HONDA ACCORD CAUSES THE CAR TO STALLS WHILE DRIVING DUE TO IGNITION SWITCH THAT HAD A RECALL IN 2004 BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR. ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH DEGRADES DUE TO HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT PASSING THROUGH SWITCH WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED. THIS STALL HAS HAPPENED ON FREEWAY LEAVING ME TO BE IN A ACCIDENT AT ANY TIME.

THE FRONT SUBFRAME IS RUSTED THROUGH ON ONE SIDE ONLY. IT'S THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AC DRAIN HOSE DIPS ON THE FRAME. THE CAR IS IN OTHERWISE GOOD SHAPE AND DOESN'T PRESENT ANY REAL ISSUES BUT THE RUST IS SO BAD THAT IT IS MAKING THE CAR VERY UNSAFE.

MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 15 -20 MPH ON A MAIN ST. LIGHT LIT UP ON THE DASH, THEN ALL DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT, THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND THE BRAKES STOPPED AS WELL. I HAD TO SLAM MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES TO KEEP FROM HITTING A VEHICLE AT A LIGHT.
