INTERMITTENTLY GAS PEDAL STUCK, AND THERE WAS A SUDDEN ACCELERATION. DEALER INDICATED THE NEED TO CLEAN AND LUBRICATE. THE THROTTLE. BUT, THERE WAS NO INDICATION IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL HOW TO LUBRICATE THE THROTTLE. *AK
DEALERSHIP HAS THE PART TO PERFORM THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL 03V423000, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS TO INSTALL IT. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES A NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS, AND THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ROTORS AND OTHER PARTS DUE TO CORROSION. *AK THE CLUNK NOISE WAS THOUGHT TO BE COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR STABILIZER LINK WHICH WAS REPLACED. *SC
1999 HONDA ACCORD NEEDED TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 40,000 AND NOW IS HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN AT 46,000 MILES. A REPLACEMENT IS NEEDED. CAR IS SLOW TO MOVE IN 1ST AND DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. HARD TO GET MOVING WITH TRAFFIC AND IS DANGEROUS WHEN FAST ACCELERATION IS NEEDED IN TRAFFIC. *LA
MY 1999 HONDA ACCORD'S LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS QUIT WORKING WITHOUT NOTICE. I WILL BE DRIVING AND THEN THEY WILL JUST TURN OFF. I HAVE CHECKED THE BULBS, AND THE BULBS ARE STILL NEW. I HAVE BOUGHT MANY SETS OF BULBS, AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAVE HEARD OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS JAPANEESE MADE ACCORDS, AND AMERICAN CIVICS. MY ACCORD WAS MANUFACTURED IN JAPAN.
I HAVE A 1999 HONDA ACCORD V6 EX SEDAN. IT CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000 MILES ON IT, AND MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THE VEHICLE HAS REQUIRED A NEW TRANSMISSION @ 55,000. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IS MENTIONED ON MANY INTERNET FORUMS. THE COST OF REPLACING THIS TRANMISSION IS RATHER SUBSTANTIAL. THE 00-01 MODELS HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM HONDA ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR 7 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES, BUT FOR SOME REASON THE 1998-1999 MODELS WERE LEFT OUT EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE THE SAME GENERATION VEHICLES. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED A FEW TIMES DUE TO TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. I HOPE SOME ACTION CAN BE TAKEN TO HAVE THE WARRANTY EXTENDED TO INCLUDE THE 1998 TO 1999 HONDA ALSO.
DASH LIGHTS OUT. I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR HONDA ACCORD SEDANS MODELS FROM 2000-01. MINE IS A 1999.
PROBLEMS WITH IGNITION SWITCH ON 1999 HONDA ACCORD. *PH
ACCORD 1999 EX-V6 TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES SHIFTS HARD AND 4TH GEAR SLIPS AND SHUDDERS, ALSO UNEXPECTED HARSH DOWNSHIFTS OR ERRATIC SHIFTING. SUSPECT THE PROBLEM TO BE SIMILAR TO MODEL YEAR 2000 AND 2001, BUT NO RECALL ISSUED FOR 1999.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS WHEN DEPRESSED-EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! NEEDED TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND PHYSICALLY REACH DOWN AND PULL PEDAL UP WHILE TRAVELLING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THANKFULLY NO OTHER DRIVERS WERE NEARBY!*AK
HONDA CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL SCHEDULED ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR 1999 ACCORDS INVOLVING THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS FAILURE CAUSES THE CAR TO QUIT WHILE DRIVING AND/OR NOT START PROPERLY. THESE HAVE BOTH HAPPENED TO ME, BUT HONDA WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AS MY VIN IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A BAD SWITCH. MY VEHICLE IS ACTING EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED ON THE WEBSITE. IT HAS QUIT WHILE DRIVING TWO TIMES AND NOT STARTED ONCE. BOTH TIMES IT QUIT I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. IT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. IT IS UNRELIABLE THE WAY IT IS. *JB
WHEN TEMPERATURE REACHES UNDER 32F, FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, THE CAR WAS WARMED UP, AND AFTER DRIVING 1/2 MILE, THE CAR SHUT-DOWN AND WON'T RESTART. *AK PROBLEM WAS FOUND TO BE THE FUEL PUMP, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC, HE HAS KNOWN OF AT LEAST 20 ACCORDS FROM THE SAME MODEL 98-02, WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS, AND IT ALL WAS TRACED TO THE SAME MANUFACTURER WHO MADE THE FUEL PUMPS.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION STALLS FOR 2 OR 3 SECONDS AND THERE IS A LOST OF POWER BEFORE THE CAR BEGINS TO MOVE FORWARD. NEAR ACCIDENT WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ON THE INTERSTATE. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON HONDA ACCORD V6 COUPES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR LATER MODELS BUT NOT FOR 1999 YEAR MODELS. DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION WITH A REBUILT FOR $ 3,000. THE CAR RANDOMLY ACCELERATES AND DECELERATES IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. NO PROBLEMS WHEN THE CAR CROSSES 35 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. *JB
IGNITION INTERLOCK PROBLEM. KEY CAN BE REMOVED FROM IGNITION WHEN CAR IS IN NEUTRAL OR DRIVE. RECOGNIZED RECALL ISSUE. MY CAR IS IN AFFECTED 1999 MODEL YEAR, BUT NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT IS NOT WITHIN VIN RANGE!! THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECOGNIZED VEHICLE RECALL. HONDA REFUSES TO HONOR THIS RECALL BECAUSE NOT IN VIN RANGE BUT LOTS OF OTHER CARS IN 99 MODEL YEAR HAVE FAILED BECAUSE OF THIS. BECAUSE OF THIS CAR WILL ROLL IF PARKED AND KEY REMOVED AND CAR IS NOT IN PARK. INTERLOCK IS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. DANGEROUS! EVERY TIME I WOULD ACCELERATE, MY CAR WOULD STALL THEN THE CAR WOULD GIVE A STRONG JERK.I TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OK, AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE ANY PROBLEMS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR LATER MODELS BUT NOT FOR 1999 YEAR MODELS. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY OFFERED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION FOR A RIDICULOUS CHARGE OF ~$ 5,000 SINCE MY WARRANTY PERIOD HAD PASSED.WHY DOES HONDA ISSUE A RECALL ON THE 2000+ MODELS AND NOT ANY OTHER ONES. THIS DEFECTIVE COMPONENT POSES A SERIOUS THREAT FOR MY CHILDREN AND ME.*AK
INTERMITTENTLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS SLOW TO ENGAGE FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP WHILE UP SHIFITING, CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL AND THEN JERK INTO GEAR. WHEN DOWN SHIFITING, THE CAR WOULD STALL WHEN SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 2ND GEAR. THE DEALER STATES THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECVTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HONDA HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES ON THE 2000/01 MODEL YEARS WHICH HAVE THE SAME V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, BUT NOT ON THE 99 HONDAS.
IGNITION INTERLOCK PROBLEM. KEY CAN BE REMOVED WITH CAR PARKED IN NEUTRAL. CAR WILL ROLL IF ON A HILL. VERY DANGEROUS. WHILE AT SLOW SPEED THE TRANSMISSON PAUSED AND KICKED FORWARD ON A 1999 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 WITH ONLY 78,000 PLUS MILES. *LA
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE HER SON WAS DRIVING A 1999 HONDA, ACCORD, HE ENCOUNTERED SOME PROBLEMS. WHEN MAKING A TURN, EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. BUT, IT WOULD START RIGHT UP IMMEDIATELY. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A TURN OUT OF TRAFFIC OR INTO TRAFFIC. ALSO, CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM, BUT SHE HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION. *AK

MY HONDA ACCORD LX 4DR 1999 MODEL HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT GO LITTLE UPSLOPE ON REVESE GEAR. I FOUND LOT OF COMPLAINT ON THE WEB ABOUT REVERSE GEAR SLEEPING GOING UPSLOPE.*AK
TRANSMISSION FAILURE: HARSH SHIFTING. CAR WOULD REV AND HAVE TROUBLE ENGAGING INTO GEAR FROM TO GEAR. HIT THE GAS PEDAL, BUT CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE . VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS!! ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT. *LA
THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP TO A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT - 10020962 FROM LAST YEAR. LOW AND BEHOLD, 4 MONTHS AFTER MY BRAKE ROTORS WERE TURNED AND REPAIRED, THE BRAKES STARTED TO WARP AGAIN. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT RE-REPAIR THEM - THEY INDICATED THAT THE AFTERMARKET BRAKE PADS ON THE FRONT WERE CAUSING THE PROBLEM (THE BRAKE PADS WERE FINE). I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER FACILITY - ONE THAT FIXES AND MAINTAINS RACE CARS - THEY INDICATED THAT AUTO MAKERS ARE USING LIGHTER (AND LESS DURABLE) PARTS TO ENHANCE MPG RATINGS - WHICH IS MORE LIKELY THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH MY HONDA ACCORD, AS WELL AS WITH OTHER TYPES OF VEHICLES. THE GOOD NEWS WAS THAT WHILE MY CAR WAS IN, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH FIXED, AND AT THE SAME TIME, THEY INDICATED THAT MY CAR NEEDS A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER - I BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE MANY HONDA OWNERS ARE FACING - "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT COMES ON ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS INTO EACH NEW GAS CAP. I'VE HAD 4 FOR THIS VEHICLE (AND HAVE NOT LOST ANY). I'VE NEVER REPLACED A GAS CAP IN MY LIFE BEFORE, JUST AS I HAVE NEVER HAD BRAKE ROTOR PROBLEMS BEFORE. THE ONLY GOOD THING I COULD SAY WAS THAT THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE - GIVEN THE PROBLEMS I'VE HAD, I WOULD HOPE NOT. I ENDED UP HAVING THE O2 FILTER / SENSOR (WHATEVER IT IS) REPLACED AT ANOTHER FACILITY - WHICH TOOK CARE OF A DROP IN MILEAGE ISSUE I WAS EXPERIENCING. THE BAD NEWS FOR HONDA IS THAT I AM PROBABLY GOING BACK TO TOYOTA - I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANOTHER HONDA IF THE DEALERSHIP WOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES OR MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE (WITH A DECENT TRADE IN ON THIS VEHICLE)...I'M IN THE MARKET FOR A 2004-2005 SMALL TO MED SUV...I LOVED SOME ASPECTS OF MY ACCORD, BUT NEED A NEW, LARGER VEHICLE TO HAUL MY DAUGHTER BACK AND FORTH TO COLLEGE. PS: SINCE I KNOW THE ROTORS WON'T LAST, I'M NOT REPAIRING THEM ANYMORE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY DESIGN FOR THIS MODEL. *JB

1999 HONDA ACCORD V-6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 51,000 MILES. THIS APPEARS TO BE COMMON FOR THIS MODEL CAR. I BELIEVE HONDA SHOULD ORDER A RECALL FOR THIS TRANSMISSION OR OFFER TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY FROM THE CURRENT 36,000 MILES. *LA

CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 02V120000 CONCERNING IGNITION SWITCH. VEHICLE CONTAINED AN AFTER MARKET ALARM SYSTEM WHICH WAS CONNECTED TO THE IGNITION. DEALER CHARGED A FEE TO DISCONNECT THE ALARM SYSTEM IN ORDER PERFORM RECALL REPAIRS.*AK
SIDEWALL BLOWOUT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH. NO CONTACT WITH CURB, POTHOLE, OR ANY OTHER ROAD HAZARD. TIRE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT BLOWOUT ORIGINATED FROM INSIDE THE TIRE. TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 20K MILES. 2ND BLOWOUT IN 16 MONTHS. MICHELIN MX4 195/65R15. *LA

TRANSMISSION SERVICE ON 1999 HONDA ACCORD COUPE WITH 38,000 MILES. TRANS. DOWNSHIFTS ROUGHLY FROM SECOND TO FIRST. FIRST ATTEMPT TO FIX BY DEALER JULY 5, 2003. PROBLEM SEEMED TO IMPROVE. RETURNED TO DEALER OCTOBER 2, 2003 WHEN GOT WORSE. DEALER REPLACED MOTOR MOUNTS IT SAID WERE COLLAPSED; CHARGED ME MORE THAN $400. TRANSMISSION STILL DOWNSHIFTS ROUGHLY ON OCCASION. PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY.*MR (NAR) DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING A FULL REFUND FOR LABOR CHARGES ACQUIRED FROM FAILED LOCK ASSEMBLY. *CB
THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK AND CAR KEY FAILED TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE DRIVER HAD TO CLIMB OVER THE CONSOLE BETWEEN THE TWO SEATS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY FAILED. *AK THE FAILED PART IS AVAILABLE. *NLM
I WAS DRIVING MY 1999 HONDA ACCORD WHEN MY CD STARTED SKIPPING AND THEN MY ABS DASH LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTINUED ON THE HIGHWAY (A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC) UNTIL MY EXIT. WHEN I SLOWED DOWN AT AN APPROACHING INTERSECTION, MY CAR JUST DIED. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING QUIT...RADIO, AC,ETC...CAR FLASHERS WOULD NOT WORK, I WAS STRANDED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITHOUT ANY WAY TO LET APPROACHING TRAFFIC KNOW I HAD CAR TROUBLE. PUT MY HOOD AND TRUNK UP AND ESCAPED MY CAR. IT WAS TERRIBLE...BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF I HAD STILL BEEN ON I-285 WHICH IS A HEAVILY TRAFFICKED ARTERY AROUND ATLANTA WITH MULTIPLE LANES AND FAST TRAFFIC. I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN...NO DASH LIGHTS (I.E. BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT) CAME ON TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY ALTERNATOR HAD DIED. THAT IS WHY THE CAR QUIT AS I SLOWED AT THE INTERSECTION...THE BATTERY HAD BEEN DRAINED COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD NIGHTMARES ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME HAD I STILL BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE OR HAD THIS OCCURRED AT NIGHT, AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE KNOWING THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN SINCE I TRAVEL THAT BUSY HIGHWAY EVERY DAY! I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL DEFECT. MY CAR WAS REPAIRED AT CAREY PAUL HONDA IN SNELLVILLE GA AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT I DID NOT HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM...BUT, NO INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AT ALL! PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS. I WILL ALSO CONTACT HONDA OF AMERICA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. *JB
MY 1999 HONDA ACCORD HAS HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAIL AT 40,000 MILES, 80,000 MILES, AND 126,000 MILES. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN DEFECT, BUT HONDA AND MY LOCAL DEALERS REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY.*AK
RE: 1999 HONDA ACCORD EX (VIN: JHMCG667XXXXXXXXX). OPTED NOT TO DRIVE ON FREEWAY THAT EVENING DUE TO RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, TOOK BACK STREETS (PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ON FREEWAY). SUDDENLY ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE LOUD NOISES & ENGINE DIED; LOST POWER STEERING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS & ALL PANEL LIGHTS CAME ON. TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, DRIVER DISCOVERED BELTS CAME OFF & THE PULLEY WAS BROKEN. BOLT ATTACHING IT WAS SHEARED OFF & BROKEN IN HALF, TOO. SUBMITTED ANOMALY TO HONDA CORPORATE (CASE # N012003-09-1001253)(PH # (800) 999-1009) TO REVIEW CASE ONCE OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALER COMPLETES REPAIRS. CORPORATE HONDA OFFERED "GOODWILL ASSISTANCE" IF CASE DEEMED VALID ENOUGH FOR THEM TO PAY FOR SOME IF NOT ALL OF THE COSTS. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM YET. HONDA DEALERSHIP NOTICED PULLEY WAS ALSO WARPED. THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. REPORTED CAR HAD 56K MILES, BUT MISTAKEN; SHOULD BE APPROX. 65K. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOT JUST "WEAR & TEAR"; MORE LIKE A DESIGN FLAW OR SOMETHING! WE HAVE AN 1987 HONDA WITH NO PROBLEMS & ITS PULLEY DOES NOT EVEN WOBBLE LIKE IT IS DOING NOW IN THE 1999 SINCE IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. IT'S STILL ON A TRIAL BASIS FOR 1 WEEK STARTING 9/15/2003. TO CONTINUE FURTHER MAY COST US AN ADD'L $3K OUT OF POCKET WITH NO GUARANTEES FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *JB
THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON WITHIN DAYS AFTER MY 1999 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 HAD 90K SERVICE AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP, INCLUDING A FUEL INDUCTION SERVICE. THE FIRST TRIP BACK TO THE DEALER RESULTED IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT RECORDING THE CODE IN THEIR COMPUTER THEN TURNING THE INDICATOR LAMP OFF IN MY ACCORD. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LAMP RETURNED SOON AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE 2ND VISIT, THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE CODE INDICATED THE EGR VALVE WAS CLOGGED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT HONDA HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT ONLY FOR 8 YEARS/80,000 MILES. MY CAR HAS 92K MILES YET I WAS NEVER ADVISED OF THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP'S OWN TESTING DURING THE 90K SERVICE DID NOT DETECT THE EMISSION PROBLEM AND I SEE THAT MANY OTHERS WITH LESS MILEAGE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM.
1999 HONDA ACCORD-VEHICLE ACCELERATING WITHOUT TOUCHING GAS PEDAL WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE REVVING ON OWN WHILE IN PARK. TOWED TO DEALER. SERVICE DEPT SAYS THROTTLE BODY IS MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT AND WAS LEFT AT DEALERSHIP AWAITING PART.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONSUMER MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP.*AK WHEN CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AIR BAG AND REEL WOULD HAVE TO BEEN REPLACED AT ESTIMATE OF $873.90 TO REPAIR. AFTER FILING A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA, THEY AGREED TO COVER HALF OF THE REPAIR COSTS. ON NOVEMBER 13, THE CONSUMER HAD THE REPAIRS COMPLETED. TWO WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE CONSUMER SOLD THE VEHICLE IN FEAR OF SOMETHING HAPPENING. *PH
TIRES PLUS ON ROUTE 192 IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA SOLD MY 21 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER A BRAND NEW SET OF BRIDGESTONE TIRES HIGH PERFORMANCE. THEY TOLD HER HER CAR (A 1999 HONDA ACCORD TWO DOOR) COULD ONLY USE HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES AND NOT THE LESS EXPENSIVE BRAND. THIS WAS IN APRIL OR 4 MONTHS AGO. THE TIRES ARE NOW BALD AND STRINGS ARE FLYING OFF THEM. WHEN SHE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO TIRES PLUS THEY SAOID THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE ON THOSE TIRES. THEY SAID THEY HAD NO MILEAGE WARRANTY. THE SALESMAN TOLD HER THAT THEY GAVE HER A BREAK ON HER ALIGNEMENT. SHE SAID SHE NEVER ASKED FOR A BREAK AND HAD NO IDEA THEY GAVE HER ONE AND WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE DEFECTED ( ALL FOUR) TIRES. THEY TOLD HER THE AIR PRESSURE WAS 31 POUNDS AND SHOULD BE 35 LBS. SHE TOLD THEM SHE PUMPS THEM DAILY AND THEY DON'T HOLD THE AIR. THEY TOLD HER THATS' TOUGH AND THEY WOULD SELL HER 4 NEW TIRES FOR JUST OVER THEIR COST. NOW MY 21 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS DRIVING ON BALD FRAYING TIRES. SHE WORKS TWO JOBS AND IS AT THE NIGHT JOB NOW. I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO . NEITHER I ( HER MOTHER) NOR SHE CAN PAY FOR NEW TIRES AT THE MOMENT. IF I COULD I WOULD AND MAYBE NEXT MONTH I WILL BUT I DON'T WANT HER TO DRIVE WITH THOSE TIRES ENDANGER HER OR OTHERS. SHE MUST WORK BUT FOR VERY EXPENSIVE TIRES TO BE TOTALLY SHOT AFTER 4 MONTHS IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHAT SHOULD WE DO. SHE HAD HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND THE CAR SERVICED BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. *AK

THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED AND ACCELERATED OVER 45 MILES PER HOUR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION.*AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE HAD TO BE PUT IN THE PARK GEAR TO RESTART BECAUSE IT WOULD CRANK IN THE NEUTRAL GEAR. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS UNDETERMINED. *AK UPDATED 5/18/09 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD OVERHEAT. UPDATED 05/20/09.*JB

THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA DIRECT HAVE BEEN COURTEOUS & KIND. I DO NOT FEEL UNDER NORMAL USAGE THAT THE SEAT TRACK SHOULD FAIL. I BELIEVE THAT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE TRACK NOT THE BRACKET. *PH
WHEN HIT IN THE FRONT CENTER AT 25 MPH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CAUSE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
REOCCURING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. GLAD I BOUGHT THE 100K WARRANTY...CHANGED ONCE AT 60K DUE TO BEARING FAILURE...NOW AT 75K THE CENTER BETWEEN THE BACK SEATS GET VERY, VERY HOT AND STARTING TO FEEL SLIPPING...AGAIN. LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER TRIP TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. I DON'T FEEL SAFE...ESPECIALLY WHEN I COMMUTE 75 MILES A DAY WITH A 13 MONTH OLD BABY.
CAR PAUSES THEN SURGES FORWARD WILE ACCELERATING AT LOWER SPEEDS DUE TO DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION, PROBLEM IS CONSTANT - HAPPENS EVERYTIME.*AK
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE CRANKSHAFT PULLY FELL OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE, RESULTING IN POWER STEEERING FAILURE AND ENGINE DIED. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, THE ALTENATOR QUIT, THE WATER PUMP QUIT. LUCKILY I COULD COAST INTO A PARKING LOT ENTRANCE TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY.THE CRANKSHAFT BOLT "CRYSTALIZED" AND BROKE OFF INSIDE THE CRANKSHAFT. THE TIMING BELT, CRANKSHAFT PULLY AND BOLT, AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
HAVE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND AM SEEING A TREND TO OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE DEALER QUOTED $8000 NEW OR $3327 FOR USED. I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD BE HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ON A CAR THAT IS 3 YEARS OLD. ANYONE ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS? *PH
