TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME WAS SEVERELY CORRODED. THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATION LINE DRIPPED FLUID ON TOP OF THE KEY SUSPENSION COMPONENT, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I HAVE BEEN FAMILIAR WITH THIS CAR AND MANY OTHER SIMILAR HONDA'S OF THIS YEAR AND EVERY SINGLE ONE INCLUDING THE LOWER MILE ONES HAVE NEEDED A TRANSMISSION REBUILD OR REPLACEMENT. THE J30 TRANSMISSION IS INEPT TO DO ITS JOB AND THE STRAIN ON IT FROM THE V6 VTEC RENDERS IT USELESS QUICKLY. MUCH LIKE THE HONDA ODYSSEY IF SIMILAR YEARS THIS TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD AND NEEDS A RECALL. THIS CAR WAS MOVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON ITS WAY BACK FROM THE CITY WHEN IT WENT OUT, STRAIGHT LINE. *TR

THE LIGHTING ILLUMINATED WHEN THE CONTACT STRUCK THE DASHBOARD WITH HIS HAND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS VERY HOT AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ARROWHEAD HONDA (8380 W BELL RD, PEORIA, AZ 85382), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE COST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DIMMER FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HANDLING IS POOR WHEN MAKING SUDDEN TURNS (AVOIDANCE MANEUVERS). WHEN I SPOKE TO MY LOCAL DEALER, THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THERE IS NO SAFETY RECALL AND EVERYTHING METAL RUSTS IN THIS AREA (SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN). HE GAVE ME A NUMBER FOR SOME HONDA CARE CENTER, BUT AFTER NAVIGATING THROUGH THE AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM I FOUND OUT THE CENTER WAS NOT OPEN AT THE TIME I CALLED...FRUSTRATING. UPON EXAMINING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IT IS APPARENT THE FRAME (ENGINE CRADLE OR SUB FRAME) WHERE THE STABILIZER BAR MOUNTS TO THE FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS TOTALLY RUSTED THROUGH, ALLOWING THE STABILIZER BAR TO MOVE A GREAT AMOUNT ONLY TO BE HELD UP BY THE SWAY BAR LINK PIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THE SWAY BAR LINK PIN TERMINATION COMES LOOSE OR BREAKS, THE SWAY BAR WILL DROP AND DRAG ON THE PAVEMENT, POSSIBLY CATAPULTING THE CAR.
SRS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE STATIONARY AT HOME PARKED. I WENT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT HAS A 7-3 CODE FOR 'INTERNAL FAILURE'. THEY ADVISED ME TO PAY $1056 TO REPLACE COMPUTER. THEY SAID THIS ONLY COMES ON WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN ACCIDENT. I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AS WELL AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED. THEY TOLD ME MY AIRBAGS MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY. TWO YEARS AGO MY SRS LIGHT HAD CAM ON AND THEY SAID IT WAS FOR SEAT BELTS AND THEY COVERED IT. WHY WOULD THIS NOT BE COVERED AS WELL. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHEN I SEARCHED ON GOOGLE PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.
RIGHT SIDE SUB-FRAME, REAR BEAM, K FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH FROM A/C DRAIN LINE INSTALLED TO DRAIN DIRECTLY ONTO THE SUBFRAME. THIS CAUSES THE STEERING TO FLEX SUBSTANTIALLY AND ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC COULD CAUSE THE CAR STEERING TO FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY OR COULD ALLOW THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR. ANTI-SWAY BAR IS COMPLETELY BROKEN AWAY FROM THE FRAME. FOUND BY MECHANIC CHECKING MY CAR TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE STEERING AND CORNERING.
THE KEY WON'T COME OUT IGNITION. AND TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. . THE GEAR LIGHTS BLIMK. IT THROWS CAR INTO AN ALMOST STANDSTILL WHILE DRIVING. GEARS SLIP. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS.
WARRING LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG REMAINS ON, AT ALL TIMES.
HONDA HAD THE MAIN BRAKE LINE WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID BURST CAUSING ACCIDENT. PUSHED ON BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO FLOOR AND DID NOT STOP. WAS WORKING FINE THE DAY BEFORE, PUMPING BRAKE PEDAL WAS USELESSS. CAR WAS HEADING FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE SO I DROVE OFF THE ROAD, SPEED WAS ABOUT 30MPH WHEN I ENDED IN A MEDIAN STRIP.
I WAS DRIVING ON CITY WHEN I HEARD METAL NOISE FROM RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE I HAD IT CHECK ED AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE K FRAME-SUBFRAME HAD RUSTED AND CRACKED ONLY ON PASSENGER SIDE RIGHT I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM DUE THAT THE AC WAS DRIPPING WATER ON TOP OF IT IT WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT
FUEL LINE IS LEAKING
MY CAR PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT. I JUST REPLACED TIRES AND NOW THE CAR IS UNABLE TO DRIVE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERN. I FOUND OUT THIS WHEN MY CAR WAS VIBRATE A LOT DURING ON THE ROAD. WHEN I COME HOME, I JACKED UP THE CAR AND INSPECTED THE WHEEL AND FRONT CHASSIS. I SAW THE RUST IS VERY BAD, IT CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICTURES I SUBMIT BELOW. THE SUBFRAME BASICALLY SEPARATED, IT WILL CAUSE ANOTHER THOUSAND OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE FRAME. MECHANICS TOLL ME THAT THE SUBFRAME SHOULD NOT BE RUST LIKE THAT. IT IS THE BASIC INTEGRITY OF THE CAR SAFETY FOR ANY CAR, IT SHOULD LAST A LIFE TIME OF THE CAR AS LONG AS YOU OWN IT. I AM HOPE THAT HONDA SHOULD RECALL THIS RUST ISSUE. IT IS HARD ENOUGH TO OWNED AN OLD CAR AND TRY TO KEEP IT ON THE ROAD.
I BOUGHT A HONDA ACCORD FROM MY NIEGHBOOR FOR 900 DOLLARS AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THE DID A INSPECTION AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME IS TOTALLY ROTTED OUT BUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS STILL INTACT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND REPLACEMENT COSTS OVER 1,200 DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE CAR HAS OVER 228,000 MILES ON IT BUT THE MECHANIC SAID THAT ITS HANGING ON BY A TREAD AND OVERTIME THE SUSPENSION COULD COLLAPSE LEADING TO A CRASH
PASSENGER SIDE REAR SUBFRAME RUSTED AND BROKE OFF I HEARD A CLUNKING SOUND WHEN I WAS GOING DOWN THE STREET ON THE WAY TO WORK I TURNED THE CORNER AND HEARD A LOUD CLUNK SOUND AND GOT UNDER MY CAR AND LOOKED AND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR SUBFRAME IS BROKE OFF
THE PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME IS BADLY COMPROMISED BY RUST (SOME HOLES). PARTS OF THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING CAN BE COMPROMISED IS IT FAILS WHILE DRIVING. THE DRIVER SIDE IS NOT BADLY RUSTED. HONDA HAS RELOCATED THE AIR CONDITIONING DRIP TUBE IN LATER YEARS WHICH MIGHT BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
I HAVE A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. IT RUNS FINE BUT, THE OTHER NITE IT LOCKED ME IN. ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND I COULD NOT GET OUT, I AM DISABLED WITH A BACK INJURY. AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. IF I WERE IN A WRECK IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. BUT, THEN 2 DAYS LATER THE CAR LOCKED ME IN ON BOTH SIDES. I COULD NOT GET OUT. MY BOYFRIEND FINALLY GOT ME OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, BUT ITS BEEN 3 DAYS NOW AND THEY CAN STILL NOT GET MY CAR UNDONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THEY HAVE TAKEN DOOR PANEL APART AND EVERYTHING, STILL CAN'T GET IT TO OPEN.( IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK IT)
4TH JULY MY WIFE WAS IN A COLLISION WHICH RESULTED IN HER SUFFERING MEMORY LOSS, SPEECH ISSUES , STUTTER, A SEVERE CONCUSSION AND WEEKS AND WEEKS ON CONTINUED THERAPY TO INCLUDE PHYSICAL THERAPY, SPEECH THERAPY AND CONTINUED CARE. THE AIR BAG DIDNT DEPLOY . NO REASON WITH THE DAMAGE SUSTAINED BY THE CAR IT SHOULDN'T HAVE DEPLOYED. MY THREE CHILDREN WHERE ALSO IN THE CAR TO INCLUDE MY 12YR OLD SON IN THE FRONT PASSENGER. MY CHILD SUSTAINED MINOR BUMPS AND BRUISES BUT AS A RESULT OF FAILED EQUIPMENT MY WIFE NEARLY FORGOT WHO I WAS TO INCLUDE LAST LAST TEN YEARS OF OUR LIVES AMOUNGST OTHER THINGS , AND COULD POSSIBLY HAVE MOST HER LIFE. ONE OF THE DOCTOR DIAGNOSIS IS : CONCUSSION WITH LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS, SUBSEQUENT ENCOUNTER. (SPEECH PATHOLOGICAL TREATMENT PLAN ONGOING ) MY WIFE IS ALSO UNABLE TO WORK AND PROVIDE , AND TAKE CARE OF MY CHILDREN IN MY ABSENCE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION , SPEED 40-55MPH OHIO STATE ROUTE 68 IN URBANA, OHIO. NIGHT TIME FOLLOWING JULY 4TH FIREWORKS.
THE GREEN KEY LIGHT ON THE DASH STARTS FLASHING AND MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SOMETIMES MY CAR WILL NOT START DUE TO THE KEY LIGHT NOT COMING ON AT ALL. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL HONDA ACCORD'S. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.
My 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 has a few issues: 1. Front/rear struts, sway bar bushings, and sway bar links. This has caused my car to fail safety tests for the last 5 years. I have received an itemized estimate for these issues from a mechanic. 2. Electrical. The front instrument panel is not working properly. I can not touch any buttons on the dash or the lights on the panel will go off completely. Both of these are a huge safety issue and it is not safe to drive! No lights or warning of any kind regarding these issues!
SUBFRAME RUST-OUT OF FRONT ENGINE CRADLE BACK BEAM ON RIGHT (PASSENGER) SIDE, BOTH BEHIND AND IN FRONT OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARM. LARGE HOLE IN FRAME WAS NOTED DURING OTHER REPAIR WORK AND MATCHES NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND PICTURES OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS THAT CAN BE FOUND ONLINE. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL OR OTHER CORRECTIVE ACTION FROM HONDA.
TAKATA RECALL: DAUGHTER SUSTAINED A MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT WHEREIN SHE LOST CONSCIOUSNESS, HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER -- PRESUMABLY NOT AT A HIGH SPEED. DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT GO OFF BUT PASSENGER AIRBAG DID, DESPITE NO ONE, AND NOTHING, BEING IN THE SEAT. VIN IS NOT ON RECALL LIST (WHICH MYSTERIOUSLY ONLY GOES BACK TO MID-2001). CALLED HONDA MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WILL NOT INSPECT CAR, AND DO NOT CARE TO INVESTIGATE ISSUE BECAUSE THE VIN IS NOT CURRENTLY ON THE RECALL LIST. IS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG FAULTY (SHOULD IT HAVE GONE OFF), OR WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE FAULTY (SHOULD IT NOT HAVE GONE OFF-- I WAS TOLD THE LATTER AT THE BODY SHOP)? THE CAR IS NOT WORTH FIXING GIVEN THE FACT THAT ONE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ALONE COSTS APPROX A COUPLE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 197,025.
THE INTERLOCK OPERATION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE "OFF" POSITION AND REMOVE THE KEY WITHOUT SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION TO PARK.

THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIGHT KNEE, AND LEFT TOE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

I WAS APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT LOW SPEED THROUGH A PARKING LOT , MADE A TURN TO PARK REVERSE, FOOT ON BRAKE PUT CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK UP, PUT FOOT LIGHTLY ON GAS PEDAL AND IT GAIN SPEED AND LURCHED FORWARD INSTEAD, OVER A CURB, UP AN SLIGHT INCLINE AND HIT LIBRARY WALL, AND STOPPED. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I AM SORE, IT WAS TOWED AND I PAY TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC TO LOOK AT NEXT WEEK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,000. UPDATED 08/31/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE KEY COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE. THE MODEL WAS PREVIOUSLY SUBJECTED TO A RECALL, BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. *JS
THE SUB-FRAME ON PASSENGER'S SIDE OF CAR HAS SIGNIFICANT RUST THROUGH, PRESUMABLY DUE TO A POORLY PLACED AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSATE DRAIN, WHICH DRIPS WATER ON THE AFFECTED COMPONENT. THIS IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW. THE TOP PART OF THE COMPONENTS IS MOSTLY EATEN AWAY BY RUST. THE PART HAS NOT BROKEN, YET, BUT IT EVENTUALLY WILL. THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE SAME COMPONENT IS UNAFFECTED. THE REMAINDER OF THE CAR IS IN GOOD SHAPE FOR ITS AGE.

THE "SRS" LIGHT IS ON IN THE DASHBOARD. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LATCH IS FAULTY. IT IS DANGEROUS TO RIDE A PASSENGER IN THIS VEHICLE FOR FEAR THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT WORK PROPERLY IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT OR JUST HIT BY ANOTHER DRIVER. PLEASE ADVISE ON THE REPAIR PROCEDURES. THE PIXELS ON THE MILEAGE AND MILES DRIVEN IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE MILEAGE AND MILES DRIVES NUMBERS CANNOT BE READ.
THE SRS SIGN IS ON SINCE I BOUGHT IT FROM ANOTHER PERSON, THERE WAS A HONDA ACCORD REP FEW DAYS BACK, AND HE SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE FINE AND ARE IN WORKING CONDITION BUT STILL, SINCE ITS RELATED TO SAFETY, I DONT KNOW....IF ITS REALLY FINE AND ARE IN A WORKING CONDITION..
