WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 68 MPH ON INTERSTATE WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, VEHICLE JERKED TO THE RIGHT FIRST, THEN A MASSIVE JERK TO LEFT. VEHICLE PERFORMED A 360 DEGREE TURN, AND WENT AIRBORN. VEHICLE ENDED UP IN MEDIAN, AND A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. DRIVER LOST CONTROL FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON. DEALERSHIP DIDN'T INFORM CONSUMER OF ANY REASON THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE DEFECT. CONSUMER HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY SUSPENSION RELATED RECALL. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG WENT OFF FOR NO REASON. HONDA COULDN'T FIND A CAUSE. IMPLIED IT WAS MY FAULT BUT PAID FOR REPLACING IT.*AK
SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE CONSUMER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES FOR AIRBAG ILLUMINATION. MANUFACTURER CONTACTED DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM THEY WERE AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT NO REMEDY COULD BE FOUND AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHUR DETAILS. *AK
SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL, LIGHT HAS COME ON THREE (3) TIMES, DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE EACH TIME, SRS CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED, AND RESET WHICH HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK *YD
THE PAINT ON THE FRONT BUMBER IS PEELING WITHIN A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE, MY FRIENDS WITH OTHER HONDAS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AFTER I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THEY USED TOUCH UP PAINT AND THEN IT STARTED PEELING AGAIN WITHIN A YEAR. I HAVE HAD OTHER HONDAS BEFORE AND NONE HAD THIS PROBLEM. NO SAFETTY DEFECT. *AK
CONSUMER HAD JUST GOTTEN OUT OF VEHICLE AND INTO HOUSE WHEN VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE STARTED UNDER DASHBOARD. FIRE DEPARTMENT INSISTED FIRE COMING FROM WIRING HARNESS. MANUFACTURER SENT A FIRE MARSHAL FOR HONDA WHO RULED IT TO BE ARSON.*AK *SLC

CAR WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED 2X'S WITHIN ONE WEEK TO REPAIR THE IGNITION IMMOBILIZER. CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER'S GARAGE FOR 22 DAYS AND COUNTING. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. *AK
THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE I AM DRIVING. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER. THEY KEPT FOR TWO WEEKS AND CLAIMED FIXED. THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED IN A FEW DAYS. THE CAR, AGAIN WAS TAKED BACK TO DEALER . THEY KEPT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND SAID THE CAR HAD NO PROBLEM. THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN. IN TWO CASES, THE ENGINE STALLED WHEN I AM DRIVING. I ALMOST GOT AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR BEHIND MINE NEARLY COLLIDE WITH MINE IN THE BACK. *AK

WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE AND STARTING TO BACK UP TRANSMISSION ENGAGES, DISENGAGES AND THEN RE-ENGAGES. CAR MAKES A CLUNKING SOUND AND JERKY MOVEMENT.*AK
THIS IS HONDA ACCORD V6, I HAVE NOTICED A CLUNK WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE AREN'T ANY COMPLAINTS OR ISSUANCES ON THE BULLETIN BOARDS OF THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THERE ARE. I BELIEVE IT IS REFERRED TO AS THE 'REVERSE CLUNK' PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT CONSISENT EVERY TIME I OPERATE MY CAR IN REVERSE, BUT IT HAPPENS ABOUT 90% OF THE TIME. THE CAR IS OPERATED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. WHEN VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY DEALER, THEY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER. *AK CONSUMER STATES ABS MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN STARTING UP AND STEERING WHEEL GRABS TO THE LEFT, CONSUMER ALSO STATES THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL IS LOW AND MUSHY. *SLC

TRAVELING AT 40 MPH AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. IMPACT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT OF VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. SENSOR LIGHTS COME ON OCCASIONALLY AND AM CONCERNED THE AIR BAGS ARE DEFECTIVE.*AK

THE OPDS SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $500.00 THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED HIS VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE OXYGEN SENSOR.
DEFECTIVE PAINT ON NEW 2000 HONDA ACCORD LX. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SPOT PAINTED NUMEROUS TIMES BUT STILL HAS PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP UNWILLING TO ASSIST WITH PROBLEM; AMERICAN HONDA CORP. HAS BEEN CONTACTED AGAIN AND IS WILLING TO PAY ONLY 1/2 OF COST OF REPAINTING AFFECTED AREAS OF VEHICLE. LEMON LAW MAY APPLY. VALUE OF CAR DEMINISHED CONSIDERABLY; CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NONEXISTANT. THE PROBLEM THIS VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING IS WITH THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. IT IS CONTINUOUSLY INOPERATIVE. THE SRS LIGHT HAS REQUIRED SERVICE SIX (6) TIMES SINCE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN RESET FOUR(4) TIMES, THE SRS CONTROL BOARD WAS REPLACED AND THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED. *JG
WHILE DRIVING WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONED WHICH CAUSED VISUAL DIFFICULTY AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH. ALSO, IF WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATE THEY DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS, AND DO NOT WIPE IT PROPERLY. HONDA CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 35MPH & HAD FRONTAL IMPACT COLLISON WITH A TOW TRUCK. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED & THE DRIVER AIRBAG DID NOT. DRIVER SUSTAINED SEROIUS INJURIES A FRACTURED STERNUM. CONSUMER FELT THAT INJURIES MAY HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF AIRBAG WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED.*AK

CONSUMER NOTICED THE SRS LIGHT ON AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION AND THE CUSHION WOULD NEED REPLACED, IT HAS BEEN OVER ONE MONTH AND THE SEAT CUSHION IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. *SLC

1ST TIME DEALER STATED BAD GAS FOR CAR JERKING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WAS ON - FIXED PROBLEM. 2ND TIME (NEXT DAY) CAR REPEATED SAME PROBLEM - ANOTHER DEALER STATED BAD GAS AND LOOSE WIRE - FIXED PROBLEM 3RD TIME SAME DEALER STATED NEEDED NEW TOP DEAD CENTER SENSOR. SENSOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED. I KNOW TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND CONTINUE TO EVEN AFTER GETTING FIXED REPEATEDLY. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY NEW CAR - NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. *AK

THE BALANCER SHAFT OIL SEAL FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE CAUSING OIL TO LEAK FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE, THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT BUT HAS NOT RECEIVED A REPLY OR REIMBURSEMENT. NLM
I DISCOVERED THERE IS A RECALL ON 2000 HONDA ACCORDS THAT PERTAIN TO AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING. MY RESEARCH DISCOVERED THAT THE FIRST SIGN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS IS THE SRS LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON & STAYS ON. THIS HAPPENED TO MY 2000 HONDA ACCORD. 1 WEEK AGO I CONTACTED EMILY IN THE SERVICE DEPT AT ROCK HONDA IN FONTANA CA. I WAS TOLD MY VIN DID NOT APPLY TO THE RECALL. I EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE CARS THAT WERE RECALLED. I ASKED HOW THEY COULD KNOW FOR ABSOLUTE SURE THAT MY AIRBAG IS NOT DEFECTIVE BASED ON A VIN NUMBER. AN ANSWER WAS NEVER PROVIDED. AFTER PUSHING THE ISSUE EMILY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME TO HAVE THE CAR LOOKED AT FREE OF CHARGE. EMILY TOLD ME THAT SHE WOULD FOR SURE SEE ME ON THE SCHEDULED DAY AND TO MAKE SURE THAT I TALK TO HER. AT THE TIME OF THE APPOINTMENT IT WAS FOUND THAT EMILY HAD GONE ON VACATION W/O INFORMING ME ABOUT MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT POSSIBLY NEEDING TO BE CHANGED, NOR DID SHE LEAVE ANY INFO FOR THE SERVICE MEMBERS ABOUT MY SITUATION. I WAS TOLD TO JUST INSPECT THE CAR IT WOULD COST $75 AND SINCE THE SRS LIGHT IS ON THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG W/ MY AIRBAG AND IT WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $800 TO FIX. HONDA SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX MY CAR FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE OF MY VIN NUMBER, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE THAT THERE IS INDEED A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM W/ DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS IN THE 2000 HONDA ACCORDS. IT WAS ALSO FOUND THAT SINCE MY CAR IS A CANADIAN HONDA, BUT WAS SOLD TO ME BRAND NEW IN SO. CALIFORNIA AT ROCK HONDA, THAT AMERICAN HONDA WILL NOT DEAL WITH THE SITUATION AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT CANADIAN HONDA CANNOT FORCE A U.S. DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS I DRIVE 6 DAYS A WEEK TO & FROM WORK. A 1 WAY TRIP IS 45 MINUTES LONG IN HEAVY STOP & GO TRAFFIC. I'M EXTREMELY SCARED I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT & WILL BE INJURED BECAUSE MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. I FEEL LUCKY IN THE 3 & HALF YEARS I'VE OWNED THE CAR I HAVE NOT YET HAD AN ACCIDENT. *AK

UNLESS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS IN THE FULL-BACK POSITION, AND HAS BEEN PUSHED HARD TO LOCK IT INTO POSITION, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET IT TO LOCK IN POSITION IF THE POSITION IS CHANGED WHEN A PASSENGER ENTERS THE REAR SEAT. THE RESULT IS THAT AFTER THE FRONT PASSENGER IS SEATED AND THE CAR BEGINS TO MOVE, THE SEAT WILL USUALLY FREELY MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD, UNLESS THE PASSENGER HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO MOVE THE SEAT FORE-AFT LEVER DOWN INTO THE LOCKED POSITION WHILE GENTLY MOVING THE SEAT FORWARD OR BACK. NORMALLY I WARN PASSENGERS OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT NONE SEEM ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THE LOCKING OF THE SEAT IN A MIDWAY FORE-AFT POSITION WITHOUT ENDANGERING THE KNEES OF THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE CAR INTO THE DEALER YET DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, AND NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED BECAUSE I HAVE WARNED THEM ABOUT THE SEAT. STILL, THIS CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THE FACTORY WITHOUT THE PASSENGER SEAT LOCK WORKING EASILY AND PREDICTABLY.
BECAUSE SRS WARNING LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF AFTER STARTING VEHICLE , IT WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP BELIEVES THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SEAT BELTS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A MONTH WAITING FOR PART(S) TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *AK THE DEALER INSTALLED TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT BUT IT FAILED WITHIN A MONTH. *YH
TRANSMISSION MADE A LOUD SQEAKING NOISE AND THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED TWICE. THE DEALER WAS INFORMED APPX. 7 DAY AFTER THE CAR WAS PURCHASED OF THE PROBLEM AND INSISTED IT WAS JUST NEW CAR NOISES THEY WILL WORK THEMSELVES OUT. AND AGAIN IN APRIL MAY I INFORMED THE DEALER AND THE SAME THINGS WAS SAID. NOW I HAVE A REPLACED TRANSMISSION AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHY THE SRS SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING. *AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WENT ON TWICE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID FUEL FILLER: CAP WAS NOT ON PROPERLY. THEN, IT WAS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAUSING ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. A WEEK LATER, SRS LIGHT CAME ON, INDICATING SOMETHING WRONG WITH AIRBAG AND SEATBELTS. *AK
ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 2003, I BROUGHT MY CAR IN WITH ABOUT 12000 MILES TO DEALER BECAUSE THE SRS LIGHT WAS GOING ON. DEALER COULD NOT DETECT A PROBLEM. IT WHEN ON OR OFF UNTIL 95,000 MILES. AT 95,000 MILES THE LIGHT STOOD ON. AT 98,000 MILES, I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION INSPECTED DUE TO A RECALL. I ASKED DEALER TO CHECKED MY AIR BAG PROBLEM. THEY DETECTED PROBLEM AS BEING A FAULTY AIR BAG MODULE. UNFORTUNATELY DEALER, DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR MODULE UNDER ORIGINAL WARRANTY BECAUSE IT HAD EXPIRED. ALTHOUGH, I BROUGHT IN MY CAR AT 12,000 MILES LETTING THEM KNOW OF A PROBLEM. IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND OPTED NOT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND HAD THE AIR BAG SYSTEM RE- SET. THE LIGHT WHEN OFF. HOWEVER, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON A MONTH LATER. CURRENTLY, IAM RIDING THE CAR WITH NO AIR BAGS ON AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO HONOR MY WARRANTY WHEN I FIRST BROUGHT IN THE CAR TO THE DEALER AT 12,000 MILES AND INFORMED ME THAT IT IS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. WHAT CAN I DO?*AK
HEARD A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. UPON INVESTIGATION AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE LOST FAITH IN THE QUALITY OF HONDA. I AM GOING GET THE NEW TRANSMISSION PUT IN TOMORROW. I WILL POST ABOUT THAT EXPERIENCE LATER (I HOPE IT IS GOOD). HOWEVER, BECAUSE MY WARRANTY IS GOING TO RUN OUT IN LESS THAN 3000 MILES, I NEED AN EXTENDED POWER TRAIN WARRANTY FROM HONDA. IF HONDA DOES NOT COME AROUND, I WILL TRADE THIS CARR AND NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA IN MY LIFE AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE I DO NOT CONSIDER AS MY ENEMY.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION KEY COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH AT ANY SELECTED GEAR. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V025000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
CONSUMER STATED UPON TAKING DELIVERY OF VEHICLE, BEFORE LEAVING THE CAR LOT, THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT LIGHT REMAINED LIT AFTER ALL THE OTHER DASHBOARD PANEL LIGHTS WENT OUT, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY DEALER THAT WAS NORMAL AND IF THE LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF WITHIN 1,000 MILES TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK, CONSUMER THEN RETURNED THE VEHICLE 1 MONTH LATER AND INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE LIGHT WAS STILL COMONG ON, THE CAUSE WAS A FAULTY SEAT SENSOR AND THE PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED, HOWEVER 4 MONTHS LATER THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN, AND A NEW PART AND SENSOR WERE INSTALLED, ON OCTOBER 16, 2001 CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE DRIVERS AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY, HOWEVER THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DID DEPLOY.*JB
DRIVER WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN DRIVER WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WITH A HARD IMPACT THAT PUSHED VEHICLE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, SIDE AIRBAGS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURIES TO PASSENGER. *AK

TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAVE A 2000 HONDA ACCORD THAT FELL INTO THE CATEGORY OF HAVING A FAULTY TRANSMISSION BY HONDA'S OWN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. INSTEAD OF OFFERING A RECALL THEY OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 109K. WELL MY CAR HAS A 130,000 MILES. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET THAT AFTER BEING TOLD THIS CAR SHOULD GO 200,000 MILES BY THE DEALER THAT INSTEAD I HAVE TO REPLACE A $3000 TRANSMISSION. IF HONDA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THEIR MISTAKE THEN WHY IS THE CONSUMER PAYING FOR IT? AFTER READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS I QUESTION WHETHER THE NEW TRANSMISSION BEING PUT IN WILL BE EVEN LAST. PLEASE FORCE THEM TO OFFER A RECALL. DRIVING 20 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY ONCE THE TRANSMISSION FAILS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
