THIS CAN BE A CONCERN WHILE DRIVING THE CAR-MAY BE DRIVING AT THE POSTED LIMITS OR I MAY NOT BE IF THE CALIBRATION IS OFF AND IS WAVERYING IN ITS READINGS. *AK

CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION IN WHICH THE PASSENGER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT, DRIVER'S AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK *ML
K FRAME HAS RUSTED OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
WHEN VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN INTER-SECTIONAL CRASH PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS MORE DAMAGED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE.THE CAR HAD BEEN BROUGHT IN TO DEALER RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE BECAUSE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH SYSTEM AND RESET THE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. *AK.ET.

I HAVE TAKEN MY 2000 HONDA ACCORD INTO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE THE SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL INTERMITTENTLY COME ON AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING, THEREBY DISABLING THE SIDE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THIS OCCURS MOSTLY WHEN NOBODY IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO THREE HONDA DEALERS AND EACH AND EVERY ONE SAYS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WHAT DO I DO? I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE PROTECTION THE SIDE BAGS OFFERED, YET THEY SEEM TO BE INOPERATIVE A LOT OF THE TIME AND NOBODY KNOWS HOW TO FIX THEM.*AK
1. 3.0 L V-6 ENGINES HESITATES UNDER SLIGHT LOAD OR ACCELERAION BETWEEN 5 AND 60 MPH. HONDA REFUSES ANY ATTEMPT AT REPAIR. "A CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT CAR"
THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS AFFECTED BY THE USE OF THE BLINKERS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. THE ENGINE WILL NOT START UNTIL THE FOURTH ATTEMPT AT LEAST ONCE MONTHLY.
VEHICLE IDLE REAL LOW AND SHUT OFF WHEN STOP. WHEN THAT HAPPEN I RESTART ENGINE, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN. IN ORDER TO MAKE IT STAY RUNNING, I HAVE TO GIVE IT SOME GAS WHILE I HAVE A FOOT ON THE BRAKE. *TR

CONSUMER FELT UNSAFE BECAUSE THERE WAS A CHANCE OF BEING REAR ENDED. *AK CONSUMER WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY A MOTORIST TOLD HIM THAT CONSUMER HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME IN ONE YEAR DUE TO HORN SHORTENING OUT, FIRST THE LEFT BRAKE LIGHT AND THEN THE RIGHT ONE, ALSO SHIFTER WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK UNLESS THE EMERGENCY RELEASE IS USED.*JB
WHEN SHIFTING TO REVERSE, LOUD THUMP COMES FROM UNDER CAR. UPON INITIAL STARTUP, ENGINE MAKES LOUD THUMP, MOTOR SEEMS TO SHIFT OR MOVE, CREAK OR TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT SUPSENSION OR FRAME OF CAR WHEN MOVING FORWARD FROM COMPLETE STOP, DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE, A 2000 HONDA ACCORD COUPE EX V6, THE PASSENGER SEAT WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE AFTER MOVING THE SEAT FORWARD SO THAT REAR PASSENGERS CAN ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE, THEREFORE POSING AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANTS. I HAVE TOLD MY DEALERSHIP, ED VOYLES HONDA (MIKI MULLINAX IS MY SERVICE ADVISOR) ABOUT THIS SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS "JUST NORMAL". I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A CONDITION THAT IS POTENTIALLY SO DANGEROUS CAN BE "JUST NORMAL". ALSO, MY SRS INDICATOR HAS COME ON FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON AND I EXPLAINED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP, AFTER LOOKING AT THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS WEBSITE, AND THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE ME PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO SEE IF THIS WAS TRUE OR NOT. I ACTUALLY ALSO HAD AN INSTANCE OF THE FAILED MIL WHICH WAS RESOLVED BY MY DEALER YESTERDAY (HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN #00-017). PLEASE ADVISE ON THESE ISSUES. THANKS. STRONG FUEL EMISSION IN CAB OF VEHICLE. *AK
PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT LOCK INTO PLACE CAUSING SEAT TO FLY FORWARD WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED TWICE. THEY REPLACED THE TRACK THE SEAT SLIDES ON. THE SEAT STILL SLIDES FORWARD, AND THEY SAID THIS IS JUST NORMAL. I AM CONSIDERING A LAWSUIT. *JB
MY HONDA ACCORD EX 6 CYL HAS A PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL 04V256000. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF AT NIGHT, EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. IF I PLAY WITH THE DIMMER CONTROL I CAN GET THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS TO GO ON AND OFF.*AK

THIS IS MY SECOND TIME FILLING OUT THIS REPORT , I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY SOMETHING. I RECEIVEDA NEW TRANSMISSION WHEN THE CAR HAD ONLY 1308 MILES ON IT BECAUSE THE FIRST TRANSMISSION CLUNKED EVERYTIME I BACKED UP. THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION RIDES NOWHERE AS NICE AS THE FIRST TRANSMISSION IN FORWARD GEARS. I EXPLAINED ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THE FIRST REPORT I SUBMITTED TO YOU. THANKS. *AK
TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 1308 MILES & NOW THE CAR DOESN'T RIDE SMOOTH. AT LOWER SPEED THE CAR IS JERKY, HESITATES, SLOW DOWN VERY QUICKLY AS SOON AS YOU LEFT OFF THE GAS, FEELS LLIKE THE BRAKE IS ON. ALSO HAS A NOISE COMING FROM FRONT RIGHT OF CAR EVERYTIME I START UP AND PULL AWAY I HEAR IT ONCE. DIDN'T HEAR IT WITH THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION. THE WHOLE FEEL OF THE CAR DRIVING IS VERY DIFFERENT WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION AND I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT. IT'S NOT SMOOTH AND FLOWY LIKE THE FIRST TRANSMISSION. IT'S VERY TIGHT AND FEELS LIKE YOU CONSTANTLY NEED GAS. RIDES TERRIBLE ON HILLS. I TOLD HONDA THAT MY WHEELS PULL LEFT ON HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THEY TOLD ME THAT'S NORMAL. NOT HAPPY HERE. *AK
I HAVE A 2000 HONDA ACCORD, THAT HAS A KNOWN IGNITION SWITCHES PROBLEM. MY CAR DIES WHENEVER THE CAR GET STARTED. THE PROLBEM BEEN GOING ON SINCE MY CAR HAVE 20000 MILES. *AK
SPEEDOMETER IS NOT ACCURATE. IT APPEARS TO BE FROM 7 TO 10 MPH OFF FROM SURROUNDING TRAFFIC. DEALER CLAIMS IT IS WITHIN THE 10% ALLOWABLE DIFFERENCE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY TELL US WHEN IT READS 65 WE ARE ACTUALLING GOING 60. THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED ANY DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT THE INACCURACY. *AK
RADIATOR IS NOT PROTECTED IN THE FRONT OF VEHICLE . THEREFORE, ANY OBJECT COULD DEMAGE THE RADIATOR, AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPEND TO RADIATOR IN CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. *AK
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASSIONS MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND EVENTUALLY IT WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT STAY RUNNING UNLESS I KEPT GIVING IT GAS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE WINTER FUEL FORMULA. THIS WAS CAUSING A BOILING OF THE FUEL AND A VAPOR LOCK CONDITION. HE ALSO SAID HONDA WAS AWARE THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING ONLY IN THE V6 AND THEY WERE WORKING ON A FIX. TO DATE I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY HONDA OR MY DEALER THAT A FIX IS AVAILABLE.
HONDA ADMITS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2000 REDESIGN OF THEIR V6 ENGINES. THIS CAUSES A VAPOR LOCK TYPE PROBLEM, WHICH HAS CAUSED MY CAR TO BE DIFFICULT TO START ON 7 OCCASIONS. ON ONE OCCASION, THE CAR STARTED BUT THEN DIED AGAIN AS I BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT IF THERE HAD BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HONDA TOLD ME THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM DURING A SERVICE ON JANUARY 31, 2000. WHEN I REPORTED THAT THE CAR STILL HAS PROBLEMS, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PREVIOUS FIX WAS NOT THE DEFINITIVE FIX AFTER ALL. THEY SAY THEY ARE WAITING FOR EPA APPROVAL OF THE DEFINITIVE FIX. IF THIS IS TRUE, THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO ISSUE A RECALL, NOT JUST A SERVICE BULLETIN, SINCE A SAFETY HAZARD EXISTS WHEN THE CAR DIES IN TRAFFIC. *AK
WHILE IN REVERSE AND TRAVELING BACKWARDS THERE IS A LOUD CLUNK AND THUMP FROM UNDER THE CAR. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT HONDA WAS INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM AND NO FIX WAS MADE TO MY CAR.
IF TEMPERATURE WARMS UP DURING WINTER, FUEL WILL BOIL OVER AND FLOOD THE ENGINE PREVENTING THE ENGINE FROM STARTING UP.*AK
THE "SRS" LIGHT COMES ON, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG SYSTEM, BOTH FRONTAL AND SIDE AIRBAGS . DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM OR WHICH AIRBAG SYSTEM IS HAVING THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACK ON A HILL WHILE IN DRIVE IF FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF BRAKE PEDAL. DEALER SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT.*AK *SLC
WITHIN FIVE DAYS OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, OWNER NOTICED VEHICLE SHAKING AND SHUDDERING AT 25 MPH AND 40 MPH UNDER LIGHT THROTTLE. THIS CONDITION WAS AND IS REPEATABLE. PROBLEM IS ALWAYS PRESENT AT AFOREMENTIONED SPEEDS. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT DEALER WOULD CONTACT MANUFACTURER REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. OWNER WAS CONTACTED 01/04/00 BY DEALER, AND TOLD THAT MANUFACTURER WILL BE SHIPPING A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY TO REPLACE FACTORY INSTALLED TRANSMISSION. DEALER STATED THAT UPON THEIR RECEIPT OF TRANSMISSION, THEY WILL CONTACT OWNER TO SCHEDULE 2-3 DAY R&R OF DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. OWNER IS CONCERNED ABOUT POTENTIAL FUTURE POWERTRAIN FAILURES DUE TO THE COMPLEXITY AND SCOPE OF THIS PROCEEDURES WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE AT DEALERSHIP. OWNER WOULD EXPECT EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY FOR THIS VEHICLE. *AK
VEHICLE RUNS WELL BUT EVERY TIME YOU INITIALLY START UP AND BACK UP IT JOLTS YOU AS YOU RELEASE THE BRAKES AND START MOVING. IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE IN REVERSE THAN DRIVE. IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES BUT THEY REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE SAYING THE MANUFACTURER IS WORKING ON IT. I FEAR THE DRIVETRAIN WILL FALL APART WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EMITS NOISE ("THUNK") WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING IN REVERSE, ACCOMPANIED BY ABRUPT SHIFT AS IF NOT FULLY ENGAGED IN GEAR. *AK
MY TIRES CAN NOT KEEP THE AIR HAVE BOUGHT BRAND NEW TIRES HAD IT ROTATED STILL CAN NOT KEEP THE AIR TOOK IT THE DEALER THEY WILL NOT HELP ME RADIO WHEN OUT KEYS TO THE DOOR WHEN BAD DEALERS WHERE NOT VERY FRIENDLY AT ALL & COULD NOT ANSWER MY QUESTIONS NOBODY SEEM TO CARE. *AK
3 TRANSMISSION LEAKS AS OF 04/04/2000: AT THIRD LEAK - REPLACING TRANSMISSION...OIL LEAK: ENGINE REPLACED DUE TO INDENTATION B/W VALVE COVER & BLOCK. RECEIVED 5YR/60K BUMPER-BUMPER WARRENTY. *AK
THE DAY AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WE NOTICED A LOUD "THUMP" WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE. THIS NOISE WAS HEARD ALMOST EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. UPON CALLING THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS A NORMAL SOUND WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. THE NOISE CONTINUED TO HAPPEN & IT WAS OBVIOUS IT WAS NOT NORMAL SO WE AGAIN CALLED THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. WHICH THEN SAID IT WAS INDEED NOT NORMAL & TO BRING IT IN. IT APPARENTLY WAS A KNOWN DEFECT IN 2000 ACCORD V6 MODELS. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. IN AUG 2000 THE CAR WOULD NOT START. IT WAS NOT A BATTERY PROBLEM AS LIGHTS, ETC. WORKED. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE CAR & UPON TURNING THE IGNITION HAD NO RESPONSE. NONE OF THE DASH LIGHTS INDICATING ENGINE TROUBLE REMAINED ON, ALTHOUGH THEY DID INTIALLY COME ON & THEN GO OUT. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR 15-20 MINS AT WHICH TIME I THEN WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT YET REPEATED ITSELF.

THE HONDA ACCORD 3.0 V-6 ENGINE HAS A HESITIATION PROBLEM AT ALL SPEEDS ANYTIME THAT THE ENGINE IS PLACED UPON A SLIGHT LOAD CONDITION, SUCH AS GOING UP ANY GRADE. HONDA INDICATES THAT THEY CONSIDER THIS TO BE AN ACCEPTABLE 'DRIVEABILITY CONDITION' AND REFUSE TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY ANOTHER HONDA SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT HONDA HAS ATTEMPTED MANY TIMES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DO SO. THAT BEING THE CASE, HONDA SHOULD BE FORCED TO STATE IN ALL THEIR SALES PROMOTIONAL LITERATURE TO PROSPECTIVE BUYERS THAT THE 3.0 V-6 HAS A DRIVEABILITY CONDITION WHICH HONDA CAN NOT OR WILL NOT BE FIXING. IF I HAD BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE 'DRIVEABILITY PROBLEM' BEFORE THE PURCHASE, I WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THE AUTOMOBILE, BUT WOULD HAVE GONE TO ANOTHER MANUFACTURER.
AT 7000 MILES BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER, REPLACED BRAKE PADS. AT 13000 MILES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK

THE HORN BUTTON IS LOCATED AT THE VERY CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND ONLY AT THE ONE SPOT. DURING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION THE HORN IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND AND MOST OF THE TIME YOU MISS IT. THIS RESULTS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BEING MADE WORSE. IN THE TIME I HAVE THE CAR THERE HAVE BEEN THREE SITUATIONS WHERE I COULD NOT FIND THE HORN, POUNDING ON THE STEERING WHEEL USELESSLY.THERE SHOULD BE A THREE OR A FOUR POINT HORN BUTTON.
