I rotated the tires looked at the tread and noticed all 4 tires had cracks along the tread in all directions. The cracked tread make the tires unsafe for road use. I emailed the company but did not receive a reply to my message. At this time the tires loose about 10-15 PSI of air within a few days.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ACCORD EQUIPPED WITH COOPER COBRA RADIAL G/T TIRES, SIZE: 93/215/60R5 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, A LOUD BANGING NOISE EMERGED FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHOOK AND VIBRATED. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER, VIN, AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
MY GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TIRES ARE 1.5 YEARS OLD. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY REFILL THE AIR IN ALL FOUR TIRES EVERY WEEK. THESE TIRES ARE SIMPLY FAILING AND IT WILL NOT TAKE LONG BEFORE I GET IN AN ACCIDENT........ *TR

ALSO, CONTACTEDTHE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO RECALLS, AND CONSUMER REQUESTED THE NUMBER FOR NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. PURCHASE VEHICLE IN 2000. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO ROTATE THE TIRES AND THE LUGS:NUTS BROKE OFF. THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. *AK
TIRES DEVELOPED CRACKS IN SIDEWALL. THE FIRST TIME WE THOUGHT WE RAN OVER SOMETHING AND IT WAS CUT. REPLACED IT OUR COST.. SECOND TIRE COMPLETELY SHREDDED. TOOK TIRES OFF CAR AND FOUND OTHER TIRES WITH CRACKS IN SIDEWALLS BUT STILL HOLDING AIR. STILL HAVE TIRES 4 OF 5 TIRES. *NM
WHEEL BEARING FAILURES: REPLACE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING UNDER WARRANTY AROUND 33,000 MILES. REPLACED RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING AROUND 68,000. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MANUFACTURER PAID NOTHING. FOUND RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING STARTING TO GO BAD. HAD REPLACED AT NO COST IN JULY OF 2003. (ONLY HAD 9,000 MILES ON IT. HOWEVER, UPON INSPECTION DURING REPLACEMENT OF RIGHT FRONT, TECHNICIAN FOUND BOTH REAR WHEEL BEARING TO BE GOING BAD. THAT WILL BE A TOTAL OF FIVE WHEEL BEARING REPLACED BEFORE 100,000 MILES. NEVER HAD A WHEEL BEARING ISSUE ON ANY OTHER CAR!!!

MY SON'S 2000 HONDA ACCORD IS FITTED WITH FOUR BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK TIRES FOR WINTER DRIVING. I SUGGESTED THAT THEY BE INFLATED TO 32 PSI AS INDICATED ON THE DOOR FRAME PLATE. THE INSTALLER INSISTS, HOWEVER, THAT THEY SHOULD BE RUN 5 PSI LOWER (I.E. 27 PSI) THAN NOMINAL. I THINK THAT RUNNING AT THE LOWER PRESSURE IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN VERMONT WHERE FRIGID TEMPERATURES DROP TIRE PRESSURES EVEN LOWER. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER'S CONSUMER WEBSITE HAS BEEN UNRESPONSIVE. PLEASE ADVISE WHERE I CAN GET EXPERT ADVICE ON THIS MATTER.
