EVER SINCE I GOT MY CAR THE TRANSMISSION HAS SKIPPED ONCE I STARTED TO ACCELERATE. IT PICKS UP SPEED VERY SLOWLY AND ONCE I GET TO ABOUT 20 MPH IT STARTS SKIPPING REALLY BAD AND I HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT SKIPS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND ONCE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT SKIPPED FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. I WAS SO SCARED I HAD TO GET OFF AND TAKE THE STREETS. I WENT TO SEE IF MY TRANSMISSION FOR MY MODEL WAS RECALLED (HONDA ACCORD 2002) AND I ONLY SEEN THE 2003 MODEL RECALLED BUT MANY 2002 OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT OCCURRING ONLINE AS WELL. I FEEL THAT HONDA OWES IT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS TO TEST THIS OUT AND CONDUCT A RECALL.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2002 HONDA ACCORD. THE PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME IS BADLY CORRODED, DUE TO THE A/C DRAIN HOSE DRIPPING ONTO THE SUBFRAME. THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOOKS FINE THOUGH. I NOTICED THE ISSUE, AFTER READING ABOUT COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS AND CHECKED OUT OF CURIOSITY. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED $2000-$2500 TO REPLACE THE SUBFRAME (ABOUT A $1,000 FOR THE SUBFRAME AND ANOTHER $1,000-$1,500 FOR LABOR) AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A SAFEY ISSUE. IF THE SUBFRAME WERE TO FRACTURE, THE HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE COULD BE COMPROMISED AND STEERING WILL CEASE.

SRS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR MONTHS. WE GET RECALL NOTICES BUT THE VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS. THE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON WHEN DRIVING. BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. BUT, THE BRAKE LIGHT HAS RECENTLY COME ON WHEN DRIVING.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP BEHIND A CAR AT A STOPLIGHT, THE 2002 ACCORD LURCHED FORWARD, NEARLY REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER FULL STOP WAS COMPLETE, THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1-2 SECOND DELAY BETWEEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL AND WHEN THE CAR ENGAGES IN GEAR AGAIN AND LURCHES FORWARD. ALL OTHER GEAR CHANGES FUNCTION NORMALLY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, AND DIAGNOSTICS REVEAL A P0780 (SHIFT MALFUNCTION) CODE. LURCHING AFTER STOPS AND AFTER ACCELERATION CONTINUE AT EVERY STOP NOW.
I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 08/20/2017 AT FRONT SIDE OF MY CAR MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG OPEN BUT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DIDN'T OPEN . AT TRAFFIC LIGHT I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AND FORD TRUCK CAME AND HIT MY CAR. I HAD 360 DEGREE SPIN ON MY CAR. DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR WAS REPLACE IN JANUARY 2015 BY HONDA. MY INSURANCE COMPANY MADE MY CAR TOTAL LOSS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE THIRD CLUTCH OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. AFTER SURGING BACK AND FORTH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THIRD GEAR OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 119,000. *TT *JB
ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH LIGHTS, TRANSMISSION HAS VARIOUS ISSUES AFTER I'VE SPENT OVER $2,000 TRYING TO GET IT FIXED. THE SENSORS GO OUT OR START ACTING UP A SHORT TIME AFTER I'VE REPLACED THEM. THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND LEAVE YOU TO GET HIT BECAUSE IT TAKES SECONDS TO MINUTES TO GET STARTED AGAIN. LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF ON THEIR OWN.
2002 HONDA ACCORD FAILED 2017 STATE INSPECTION DUE TO RUST HOLE IN FRONT CRADLE SUBFRAME
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY VEHICLE ACCELERATED, CONTINUE TO GAIN SPEED. HAD TO BRAKE REAL HARD, VEHICLE CONT. TO ACCELERATE. EXITING FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEED, BLOW A STOP SIGN COULD NOT STOP. CONTINUE HARD BRAKING CAUSED BRAKES TO CATCH FIRE. FINALLY ABLE TO BRING VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP. UNKNOWN WHAT CAUSED VEH. TO ACCELERATE
TAKATA RECALL. OUR HONDA ACCORD IS JUST OVER 15 YEARS OLD AND APPARENTLY IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE GENERAL AIR BAG RECALL AS IT IS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL LIST. WHY IS IT NOT COVERED? THE INFORMATION WE HAVE RECEIVED SAYS THAT HIGH TEMPERATURES (WE LIVE IN TUCSON, AZ) AND AGE ARE INDICATORS OF POSSIBLE FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL. AFTER REPLACING AIRBAG THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYS ON. GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS MEANS THEY ARE NOT WORKING.
BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS A 2002 THE RECORDS DO NOT SHOW PAST 15 YEARS.I AM UNABLE TO GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHETHER RECALL #02V-226 IN 2002 WAS EVER DONE ON THE CAR.I PURCHASED IN 2004.ANY INFO FOR THIS VEHICLE RECALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED, HE WAS INFORMED BY THE INSPECTOR THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SUB-FRAME WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTIFY A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULLER HONDA OF GURNEE (7000 GRAND AVE, GURNEE, IL 60031, (847) 623-7673) WHERE THE AIR BAG INDICATOR WAS RESET; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I HAVE BEEN THE SOLE OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE WILL FALL DOWN AND HIT YOUR HEAD CAUSING A HEAD INJURY. THIS HAPPENS AS YOU ARE LEANING INTO THE TRUNK TO INSERT/REMOVE ITEMS. THERE IS NO LATCH TO KEEP THE TRUNK MORE SECURED. THE TRUNK WILL FALL FROM THE WIND BLOWING OR FOR NO REASON. I INFORMED A HONDA DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHEN I HAD OWNED THE VEHICLE DURING THE FIRST YEAR, BUT THEY DISMISSED MY CONCERNS. OVER THE COURSE OF THE 14 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE, DESPITE BEING CAREFUL, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INJURIES FROM THIS ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN I NEED TO USE BOTH HANDS TO INSERT/REMOVE ITEMS FROM THE TRUNK. MY HUSBAND AND MOTHER HAVE ALSO HAD INJURIES. THIS IS A VP (VALUE PACKAGE) MODEL OF THE 2002 HONDA ACCORD. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE SO I AM GOING TO INSERT TODAY'S DATE EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2002.

SCOTT CLARK HONDA (7025 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227, (855) 819-8285) PROVIDED A $300 REPAIR BILL FOR AN OIL LEAK EVEN THOUGH THE CONTACT HAD NOT SEEN AN OIL LEAK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE DID NOT PROVIDE PERMISSION FOR THE DEALER TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE AIR BAG REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE HEADS ON THIS CAR HAVE TO REPLACED, WE PAID OVER $1,000 A FEW YEARS AGO TO REPLACE THE HEADS IN THE CAR. THIS PAST YEAR THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND IT WAS GOING TO COST OVER $1,000 AGAIN. BUT THIS TIME IT CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP. THERE WAS A SMALL LEAK IN THE ENGINE CASING BECAUSE OF THE HEAD IN THE CAR.
THE "SRS" LIGHT HAS TURNED ON IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. HONDA IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME $360 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHEN IT IS OBVIOUSLY AIR BAG/SEAT BELT RELATED. THE LIGHT REMAINS ON DURING MOTION AND WHILE THE ENGINE IS AT IDLE. MY VEHICLE IS AT 117,464 MILES. MY QUESTION IS IF HONDA HAS THE RIGHT TO CHARGE ME TO DIAGNOSE SOMETHING THAT IS RELATED TO SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR MY 2002 HONDA ACCORD, TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND ERROR CODE P0780 (BAD TRANSMISSION) COMES UP. MY CAR ONLY HAS 33,804 MILES. CALLED HONDA AND THEY WILL NOT HELP US. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AND HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR KNOWING IT CAN JUST STOP AT ANY TIME.

WELL IT STARTED WITH MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T SHIFT I HAD TO DO IT MANUALLY THEN I GO TO GET IN IT ONE MORNING AND IT WOULDNT ACTUALLY MOVE IN DRIVE BUT WOULD FINE IN REVERSE WHEN I DID GET IT TO MOVE IT SAID IT WAS IN NEUTRAL WELL NOW IT WILL NOT MOVE IN ANY DRIVE 1-4 BUT DOES IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION AND IF U PUBIT IN REVERSE AND SHIFT TO DRIVE AT FIRST IT STILL IS IN REVERSE THEN IT LIKE JUMPS AND GOES INTO SUPPOSED DRIVE BUT WON'T MOVE TILL I SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AGAIN
TOOK MY CAR TO DEALER TO FIX JUST THE AIRBAG ISSUE BUT GOT MY CAR BACK WITH BROKEN STARTER RELAY EVEN IF I JUMP START MY CAR IT WONT CRANK
NOVEMBER 2016. NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A CREEKING SOUND COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR WHEN DRIVING IT. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT SUB FRAME HOLDING THE ENGINE HAS RUSTED OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THAT THE CAR IS NOT ROAD WORTHY. HIS EXACT WORDS WERE "THE ENGINE COULD POP OUT AT ANY TIME" AND THAT "HE WOULD NOT DRIVE IT".
TAKATA RECALL- MY GRANDMOTHER WAS INJURED WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED IN A LOW IMPACT CAR ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS PULLING OUT OF QUICKTRIP AND WAS HIT BY SOMEONE SPEEDING DOWN THE TURN LANE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AS A RESULT IN THE AIRBAG EXPLODED AND WAS SO FORCEFUL IT BROKE HER STERNUM, 2 RIBS AND COLLAPSED HER LUNG.

MY REQUIRES THE SWITCH RECALL DONE DEALER SAYS ITS NOT COVERED BY THE VIN. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AS HONDA RECOMMEND I MARKED THE COVER WITH CLEAR TAPE .THEY CLAIMED TO LOOK AT IT BUT DIDN'T. THEY DID GET THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUE RIGHT ON THE JOB CARD. SO I DID THE RESEARCH I'M ASE TECH FOR 15YRS AND FOUND HONDA DOCUMENT AND PERFORMED INSPECTION AND FOUND THAT RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ON THIS CAR. I WENT TO DEALER AND GOT THE PART LISTED IN THE DOCUMENT AND COMPARED IT TO THE ORIGINAL AND FOUND THEM TO BE AS DESCRIBED EVEN THE MATERIALS USED ON THE CONSTRUCTION WERE DIFFERENT AND IMPROVED ON THE NEW PARTS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A CLUNKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DRAIN FOR THE AIR CONDITIONER LEAKED ONTO THE SUBFRAME AND CAUSED IT TO BECOME RUSTED AND FRACTURED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE PART WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD GEARS WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED; HOWEVER, A REPAIR WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND JERKS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS--IT IS WORSE WHEN I STOP, THE ENGINE IDLES, AND THEN SEVERELY JERKS WHEN I ACCELERATE, BUT THE JERKING MOTION ALSO HAPPENS GOING UP INCLINES. IT IS SO BAD, IT HAS CAUSED BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS EVENTUALLY GOING TO FAIL, WHICH COULD BE HAZARDOUS WHILE DRIVING. THOUGH I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY CAR, I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT WAS JUST OLDER AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS NATURALLY FAILING, BUT DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA'S TRANSMISSIONS IN GENERAL, BUT PARTICULARLY WITH THE '02 ACCORD. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 2013, BUT I WILL PUT TODAY'S DATE AS IT STILL IS HAPPENING. I FEEL LIKE THIS ISSUE IS SO PREVALENT AMONG HONDA OWNERS THAT HONDA REALLY SHOULD DO RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS AND RECALL THE TRANSMISSION.

TAKATA RECALL-MY SRS LIGHT IS ON FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO. I CALLED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST $300 UP FRONT TO HAVE THIS CHECKED OUT. THE LOCAL GARAGE WHERE I HAVE MY CAR INSPECTED SAID THIS WAS PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL BUT HONDA WON'T CHECK IT WITHOUT $300 UP FRONT AND I JUST CAN'T AFFORD IT. MAYBE I WILL FINALLY GET IT FIXED UNDER THIS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE EVERYTHING ON MY CAR WORKING PROPERLY.

TAKATA RECALL. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN ON 5/18/2015 FOR THE RECALL ON THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG AT HONDA REDWOOD CITY, CA. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY ON 7/16/2016 WITH FRONTAL IMPACT GOING 35-50 MPH AND MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. BASED ON THE SPEED AND LOCATION OF IMPACT I BELIEVE THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED.
TAKATA RECALL: THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT IN THE USA AND SENT TO GREECE FOR USE THERE. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CORRECT THE AIR BAG ISSUE FOR SEVERAL YEARS WORKING WITH HONDA AMERICA BUT THERE HAVE BEEN NO RESULTS. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN GREECE IS CONSTANTLY LYING ABOUT ORDERING THE PARTS, NO WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION IS EVER GIVEN TO STATE THE PARTS ARE ORDERED, OR NOT IN, ETC. WE'VE HAD TO GET A RENTAL THIS PAST SUMMER BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. SEVERAL LETTERS HAVE BEEN SENT TO HONDA AMERICA AS WELL AS PHONE CALLS AND WE ARE BEING IGNORED ON ALL ENDS! WHAT ARE OUR RIGHTS IN THIS MATTER? HOW CAN WE GET THEM TO RESPOND AND TAKE SOME DEFINITIVE ACTION? CAN WE SUE? THIS CAR ALSO HAS A RECALL ON AN IGNITION PROBLEM.
HIT A POTHOLE, AND HEARD LOUD CRACK. BODY SHOP FOUND LARGE CRACK IN SUBFRAME AND DEEMED UNREPAIRABLE. FOUND LARGE RUSTED AREA ON SUBFRAME, WHICH WAS DEEMED A "HONDA DEFECT" AND STATE FARM REFUSED TO COVER THE CLAIM. HONDA REPORTS THERE WAS NO RECALL.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR DAYS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE AIR BAGS RECALL. LEAVING MESSAGES WITH NO ABILITIES TO SPEAK WITH ANY ONE. NO ONE RETURNS MY CALL. CALLED CUSTOMER CARE OF HONDA WITH NO MUCH OF THE USE

DEALER SAID MY AIR BAG WAS SPICE TOGETHER AND CAN'T BE REPLACE BECAUSE OF THE WIRE SPICE. THE HONDA SEND THE RECALL AIR BAG IS UNDER THE RECALL. THE HONDA DEALER REPLACE THE AIRBAG INFLATOR ALREADY, I PAID FOR THE INFLATOR AT THE DEALER. WOULD THE SPICE WIRE DISQUALIFY MY CAR FROM REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAG?
IT WAS IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE FRONT SUB FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS RUSTED TO THE POINT IT WILL NOT PASS A PENNSYLVANIA STATE INSPECTION I CALL HONDA BUT THEY WILL NOT HELP ME THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 1999 TO 2002 HONDA ACCORDS AND A SAFETY PROBLEM I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR AND THE COST TO FIX IT OS OVER $2000.00 ( ONLY 99531 MILES ON IT ).

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT HONDA HAD A RECALL IN MARCH 2005 ON THE 2002 HONDA ACCORD FOR IGNITION PARK INTERLOCK. I CHECKED THE CAR BY LEAVING IT IN DRIVE, TURNED OFF ENGINE AND REMOVED KEY - CAR THEN BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THIS IS WHAT THE RECALL WAS FOR. SINCE THE VIN NUMBERS DIDN'T MATCH WHAT HONDA DETERMINED TO BE FAULTY, THEY NOW SAY THAT IT ISN'T THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. I AM CONFUSED HOW THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR SOME CARS BUT NOT OURS. BECAUSE IT WASN'T LISTED WITHIN THE RANGE OF VIN NUMBERS ACCORDING TO HONDA? SEEMS LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD THE CODES PRINTED THAT SHOWED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND CYLINDER FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 279,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
